Hearing Alexia jogged Lumino's memory, he didn't even remember where he had heard it.
"If I recall correctly. Deserts are searing hot in the day, obviously, but freezing cold at night. This is going to make travel difficult no matter when we decide to break camp. A North East direction would be the quickest route. However it might be a better idea to head due north to the coast, then follow it around. After all the weather will be more tolerable by the coast, so we would have less of a journey through a wasteland."
He said this to nobody in particular, walking with his chin cupped in his hand.

OoC: Guessin' this is ours... I feel bad cuz Lumino made it.. Okay! Bad feeling gone.
Matthias continued to slog through the desert, trusting in his wiser companions to keep them going in the right direction. He digested what Lumino had said. "Yeah, but there might be pirates or somethin' on da coast," he replied, scratching his stubble again. He really needed to shave that. "An' we need ta save as much time as possible."

"Most of us aren't used to the desert," Alexia pointed out. Sergey was large, and cumbersome, it had to be difficult for him to travel through the desert. And Lumino was still young... The only one she wasn't worried about was her, mostly because of her new mount. "I think it might be worth risking pirates instead of our healths."

"Hmm, valid points both, so I have a solution." Lumino said, digging through his bag with a child-like smirk. "We could stand here arguing for hours and never get anything done. So let's settle it one way or the other." He pulled out a small coin and held it up. "Well, Matthias will call it. If he gets it right, we go his way, if he gets it wrong, we take the coastal route. Ready?"
Without waiting for a response he flips the coin into the blue sky.
OOC: I have already decided what the coin will come up as, it is just a guess now. ^_~

"Uhh... heads?" guessed Matthias, watching the spinning coin with childlike wonder.
OoC: BTW, My characters were moving while talking. "Matthias continued to slog though the desert." He never stopped...

OOC: o-O What gave you the idea that I stopped? Anyway...
IC:
Lumino snatched the coin from the air and slapped his hand down onto his opposite wrist. With a moments pause he pulled his hand away, so Matthias, Alexia and whomever this other guy was, could see the result.
"It's tails." Lumino stated. "Guess we head to the shore then. Shall we get going?" He added as he changed their path accordingly.

Matthias shrugged. It didn't make that difference to him which direction they headed, so long as they made it there soon enough. Hopefully they wouldn't find any pirates, or anything. He continued slogging forward, wishing he had a horse, and could actually ride one.
OoC: "Stand here arguing for hours." That implies a sedentary position. Sorry if i'm reading too much into it. Doesn't really matter anyway. <.<

Night Flight plodded steadily onward, keeping an easy pace so that Matthias and Sergey could keep up. Alexia took the time to examine her surroundings, which weren't very impressive at all. Hours passed, with nothing to look at but sand, dotted by the occasional animal bone and cactus.
OoC: I wonder how long it would take for us to reach the coast...

The joyous desert trip seemed to drag on forever. And they'd only been walking an hour, tops.
"Did I ever mention I'm from Pherae?" asked Matthias, addressing Lumino. Sergey wasn't talking, and Alexia would already know that amazing fact. "Kinda funny, they put me in archery trainin' cuz I used to hunt back home. I wanted to be a knight or something. At any rate, I ended up lookin' for work. Ran into this guy called Sain and some o' his friends. That would be our two fearless leaders. Next thing ya know, I'm fightin' off some evil bandit scourge..."
He was rambling, and nobody probably cared what he had to say. Still, it filled the air for a few minutes, and made walking easier for the sniper.

OOC: I could have SWORN that I posted something last night.....Stupid internets.
Anyway, I'd imagine the trip would take about 5 days at the very LEAST, and if you guys wanna fast forward to the coast, that's fine by me. I doubt anything will jump us until we get there.
IC: Lumino listened to Matthias, more for him then for any real interest in the snipers heritage. He was just counting his blessings that he always traveled light. Looking at Sergey he noticed he was having a harder time maintaining his footing, since he carried the large and bulky axe.

Sergey was getting overheated. Between blishering sun and the Sniper's dull rants he was amazed at his own self restraint because he had not (yet) ripped his hard out out o pity for himself.

Matthias noticed the strain Sergey was going through. Heck, he wasn't doing so well himself. Three bows, loads of arrows, and a cloak were not helping the desert travel. The others seemed disinterested in talking, so he closed his mouth, tempting though it was to continue talking.
OoC: Yeah... I'm thinking we should just forward to the coast...

Having lived through most of Matthias's life story, Alexia was secretly glad when the sniper finished ranting. It made the silence dominate, but that didn't bother her. Left her time to think, and bake in her armor. She shifted and tried to pull the hot metal away from her skin. Thankfully, the silk tunic they'd given her made it more bearable. It would be horrible if she ended up roasting, but worse if they were attacked.
OoC: If nobody's got any complaints, someone can just forward it through the couple of days of boring walking to the coast. Something's gonna happen there though, so don't move too far ahead.

(OoC: No complaints here, go right ahead.)
Sergey laid his axe on his other shoulder. They had a good long way to go yet. But at least that wretched bowman stopped talking. Thank St. Elimine for that.

After several days of walking, the tired group finally made it to the shore line. The water lapped up against the desert shore, and looked altogether too tempting. Matthias scanned the horizan, hoping that a pirate ship wouldn't suddenly appear.
"Be on the look out, guys, I don't want a group of pirates ta get the better o' us," he cautioned the rest of the group, who probably didn't need the warning.
