Night Flight moved closer to the water, letting it lap against his hooves. Alexia guessed that desert walking maybe routine for the horse, but not something he probably enjoyed doing. She debated sliding off the saddle, to give him a rest. As she was about to dismount, she thought she saw a flash of white in the distance. "Probably a sea gull," she muttered to herself, holding up her hand to shield her eyes. From this distance, it was hard to tell, but it looked like it might be... sails? "We might have trouble," she stated, pointing towards the distance white.

It had been a few days of quiet travel through the desert, when it happened. Lumino was stopped by a whoop to his sides. He turned to Matthias who looked positivly delighted.
OOC: I thought Matthias would be the first to notice, being a sniper and all. Good eyes.
"See that? Over that last dune?" Lumino stared hard, trying to see what Matthias was looking at. All he could see was a blue hue over the dune. Then he smelled salt in the air. That wasn't the sky, they had reached the coast!
"Yahoo! Finally out of that desert!" Lumino shouted out, running towards the water. Splashing a handful on his face he shook it off. "Ahh, I needed that." He added, and he smoothed out his hair.

OoC: I think it's safe to assume you meant for your post to be before Alexia's. No big deal.
Matthias had just finished celebrating, along with Lumino, when he heard Alexia's warning. He had been bent over the water, about to splash some on his face. Raising up, he scanned the sea, looking for the... "Damn, that's definitely a pirate ship. An' look, they've got scouts," he said, pointing to white forms in the air. At this distance, he was probably one of the only ones that could see them. "They shouldn't want to bother us though..."

"The key word being 'shouldn't'." Lumino said with some disdain. "Trouble seems to walk out to find you guys, so I wouldn't be so sure yet."
He reached into his bag and pulled out his new tome, blowing a full inch of dust off of it. Flipping through the pages, he made sure all that he needed was marked.
"Looks like we might be in for some rough seas ahead."

"Yeah, you're probably right. I still don't want to be askin' for trouble though," Matthias rubbed his chin again. "Let's start heading east. If they wanna fight, we can draw them deeper into the desert or something."
He started heading in what he thought was east. After Alexia corrected him, he started in the right direction. The ship itself wasn't moving, but the scouts were definitely getting closer.
"Yeah, I'm gonna say we should get our weapons ready, just in case," ordered Matthias, drawing out his own longbow. He figured he could take out at least one of the scouts before they got back. Maybe they could just scare off the pirates.

After pointing their fearless leader in the correct direction, Alexia readied her lance for use. Lumino was right, trouble followed them wherever they went. Better to be ready for it then not. She didn't need Matthias's "order" to prepare for a fight. It would be difficult to fight, when she had to keep an eye on Lumino and watch out for Sergey. The fighter didn't seem to like her much, and it made her uneasy.

As Matthias order he set his Steel Axe at the ready. Perhaps this is the timr, Sergey reflected. The group is defided, little stands between me and Alexia. And out here nobody will hear her scream. But first, lesse how this fight will go.

Matthias kept moving eastward, keeping an eye on the approaching pegasi. They came just close enough to get a good look at the group. Then, he saw an arm go out, and a couple of them start heading back. The others began spiraling down towards the small group. "Ya know, I think they're not gonna just greet us with flowers or somethin'," muttered Matthias, his suspicions were soon confirmed as a javelin plunged into the sand next to Lumino. Grunting, he rose the longbow, aiming for one of the scouts. A quick aim, and one that rider fell to the sea, her mount continuing on.
You could hear them shouting, and see the ship begin heading towards the shore.

Alexia muttered to herself, and switched over to the javelin. One of the diving pegasus riders (there are two) was just in range... She hurled the spear, barely nicking the wing of the diving warrior. The pirate pulled slightly off course, enough to avoid the group.

The other pegasus knight came down upon Sergey. He managed land a good hit on her armor before she flew up again. 'Hah, that all you can manage!'

"That won't help you!" Lumino shouted, targeting the rider who made the dive attack against Alexia.
"Call down the wrath of the gods! Thunder!" This time he felt the magical energy all over his body, but he was able to focus it. Into his hands and he thrust them upwards.
The rider never had a chance as a bolt of lighting flew from the sky, grazing her pegasus and knocking her into the sea. Lumino regreted harming such a majestic creature, but there was no time to hesitate now.

Matthias chuckled to himself, having watched the damage the small group was doing. The entire scouting force had fallen within moments. His mirth soon began to fade as he noticed several small ships coming off the larger one in the distance. They pushed off the already moving ship, and were heading towards them. Every one of the small boats was loaded with a load of pirates (not all PIRATE pirates, if you get my drift...).
Matthias nodded to himself, pulling back again. He let loose the arrow, and watched as it collided with a foolish pirate. The buccaneer fell into the sea, never to come up again.
OoC: there's six ships coming, each one has six pirates (36).

OoC: Except Matthias already shot one.... 1/36
Alexia could see the boat coming, quicker than she'd expected. There also appeared to be a handful of pegasus riders left (4) and they were heading towards the small group as well. Thankfully, the pirates weren't too diverse. Mostly axe users, with a sprinkling of mercenaries and a squad of shamans. Gathering her strength, she hurled the javelin at the approaching mass, scoring a hit on the closest mercenary. He only slumped back into the boat though.

The boats were getting closer. Close enough that the inhabitants were able to shoot at the party on the beach. Matthias watched as several arrows glanced off Alexia's armor, thankful the cavalier was well protected. Most of the shots had been directed at her, as she stood out the most, and probably looked the most threatening. Matthias did a quick check to see where the arrows were coming from, and returned fire, shooting off two quick shots.
One archer fell out of a boat, an arrow through his shoulder. He might've been okay, had he not landed in the sea. The other shot managed to strike a pirate, who wouldn't be singing sea shanties anymore.

Sergey felled the pegasus rider the second time it came down. Sadly he saw that his usefullness had ended. He patiently waited for the pirate ships to reach shore.
