"Maybe you're getting paid," Lyndsey muttered as she followed the insane wyvern lord. She figured he could draw most of the fire away from her. She scanned the area, looking for mages. At this point, that was about all she could safely defeat, and getting rid of them would benefit Alan. She saw a few of them shoot flames in the general direction of the charging wyvern lord, and sighted in on those. Screaming a wordless cry, she dove straight for them, colliding hard with one of them. She lifted him above the crags, and let him drop. That was so much fun. Trying to circle back around, she weaved between arrows, and her mount took at least one fireball. She'd have to be careful, she couldn't risk getting injured. Her last vulnerary had patched up that stupid wyvern lord. Her mind wandered for a few moments to that scene, and the wandering almost got her shot. Cursing, she righted herself, and noticed Matis and Juchack. She tried to see if there was a way she could kill the Sacean and save Juchack, but it didn't look likely. Sighing, she flew closer to the warring duo. Maybe she could distract people enough for those two to do their thing. Or to give some people wonderful falls.

Alan ended his descent and laned on swordman. He looked around, several of the ballista's were captured. He'd need to take them out one by one. Alan flew toward one, there were a few back up archers he saw. He knew this would be dangerous but they'd eventually target him regardless.

"So..." Matis started going on about, still dealing with the bandits. "For how long have you been here?"
"A couple of months."
"How do you survive? Making trips to Lycia every now and then?" he asked, amazed.
"You could say so..."
I don't particularly like that answer...better keep an eye on him. Matis still couldn't trust Juchack. He was a spectacular swordman, but his goals certainly weren't the same as the group's.
Taking a quick look, Matis turned around, only to see Dray'Gon still lying on the ground. Damn...we can't keep protecting him forever...better take him somewhere safe
"Hey, can you hold on by yourself for a minute or two?" he asked the hero. The only answer he got was a nod, while Juchack slew a myrmidon in half.
Matis ran up to Dray'Gon, trying to lift him up. Didn't know dragons were so heavy in their human form.... He finally managed to make him stand up, and dragged him behind a dent in the mountain's wall. He joined Juchack again seconds later. When is this going to end!?

Lyndsey had just finished another strafing run, doing some damage to a few mymirdons she managed to find, when she felt something jerk. She had just enough time to glance down, and see a berserker who had grabbed onto her pegasus. The sheer momentum of her dive caused her to continue flying, off the horse, landing in this small dent in the mountain's wall. Thankfully, something soft had cushioned most of the blow. She reached down, and felt the dragon. "Great," she muttered, coughing as she tried to rise to her feet. Her legs didn't feel like cooperating. She drew her slim lance, and tried to wedge herself in front of the dragon. Hopefully nothing would come close, she didn't like her chances.

Alan had closed in. He struck down the first archer before he coul try anything but the rest were back up. He was faster and cornered them. Behind him, the ballsia was slowly turning toward him.

Zeiss casted Luna on a merc that was holding position on the outer perimeter. Not aware that they were not his enemy he closed in to finis him off. 'It seems as though these rogue's have the whole region secure, that's not good.' He said after continueing his path.

A few curious individuals had poked their noses into Lyndsey's hiding place, and got said noses nicked by a lance. She'd managed to fell at least one mage, possibly two with that lance. She remembered the javelin, and debated getting ready to throw it. As she pulled it out, she noticed a small red gem on the ground. Figuring it must've came from one of the bandits, she pocketed the item. At least she'd be buried with some treasure. An arrow thudded against the wall of the cave, causing Lyndsey to jump and spit out a curse. She readied the javelin and threw it out the niche, hoping to hit whatever had just shot her.

OoC: I was gone and you start a battle without me? And Now I have to explain what I was doing in PR form? Ugh.
Ralph was fighting the same enemy he started with, which wasn't long ago seeing as he was just watching the battle till now. He had two axe woounds in his left arm, so he hung it limply. The bandit with an axe had several smaller wounds that didn't seem to affect him. Ralph ran around him quickly and stabbed him close to the neck. He was 11 now, by watching the others he learned how to fight better. The enemy slemped over, and he retrieved his sword. He learned that in this world, you must kill to survive, and that is all.

"Juchack! We can't keep on like this! They are endless!" Matis shouted to his new fighting partner, stabbing yet another bandit on the face, splashing blood on the face of other incoming enemies, leaving them dazzled for a few seconds.
Please...just once more...
Then, his Steel Lance started shining. "Not exactly what I wanted, but works just as well!" he said, sheathing his Mani Katti fast, and taking the lance out. Matis did a couple of fast stabs forward, then spun his lance around, and started hitting wave after wave of foes.("New" type of critical. Criticals may be a flashing light of speed and power, or may be a continual combo of attacks. Thought this would give it a bit more of...variety. By the way, the combo is not endless, just a series of attacks)
"We have to do something!" he said, looking around while he attacked. There! "Alan, Lyndsey!" he shouted, trying to bring their attention, but something stopped him before he was able to tell them his plan. Reaching his stomach, he felt something warm coming out of it. He had been stabbed in the stomach by a lance, as he started spitting blood. Now's not my time...I must... He was now lying on the floor. Somehow, the bandits were paying him no attention now, and were now aiming for Juchack. "Damn it..." he managed to mutter, before coughing some more blood.

Another archer fell to Alan's blade. The past weeks Alan had found that the sword was much more pleasant weapon to fight with then the lance, who was clumsy and had to be thrust. What he thought was the last archer now was corned against a tree. The ballista was aimed right at Alans back and was preparing to fire.

Lyndsey heard Matis's shout, and fought her way out of her niche, abandoning Dray'Gon. She scanned the battlefield, looking for the Sacean. By the time she found him, he'd grown a lance in his stomach. Growling, she used her lance to worm her way through the crowd. She made it to Matis, with only a few scratches, and knelt next to the lord. "Juchack, vulnerary!" she cried, trying to get the mercenary leader's attention. The leader had been holding off several troops, and was the target of nearly every bandit in the area. Still, he managed to toss Lyndsey a small, mostly used, bag. Working quickly, she extracted the lance from Matis and liberally dusted the wound. "Dammit, I'm supposed to be killing him," she cursed, as she tossed aside the bag. She didn't want to die though, and Matis was their best chance for surviving this.

Matis' shout caught the atttention of Alan as well. he Spun round and looked at the the ballista which as about to fire at him just off point blank. 'Duck you bloody wyvern, DUCK!' It barely miseed them but Alan retaliation was just as fierce as ever. The archer was beheaded accoridingly. Then Alan remembered why he turned around in the first place. Matis! He flew up and scanned the battlefield but couldn't see the usual concentration of high speed slicing and diching that was custom to the Sacean. Then he say Lyndsey who didnt seem to be in combat but was on the ground none the less. He flew toward her.

Coughing to the side, Matis recovered consciousness. "Gotta love these little things..." he said, motioning a hand to the vulnerary. "Thank you, Lyndsey." he added, after seeing who had helped him. The sole thought of Lyndsey actually helping him bothered him, though. Wasn't she certain about wanting to kill me only a day or two ago?
After trying to stand up several times, Matis simply dragged his own body towards the same dent Dray'Gon was lying at. "Keep fighting, you two." Matis said again, now referring also to the wyvern lord who had just descended next to them. "If they come this way, I'm sure I will be able to stop them. Having a spare hand is more than enough to cover my own ass." he said, smirking, trying to give them confidence, and let his back rest on the mountain, sword at the ready.

Alan started fighting again. There were still plenty to kill. He cut down a swordsman who had come too close. 'Lyndsey?! What happened to Dray'Gon?' For he had not seen the dragon anywhere, a rather large thing to overlook.

"The dragon? He's out," she motioned to the dent in the wall. "And we're out of options. Running sounds like a good idea." She scanned the area, trying to find a suitable mount. Finally, she noticed a pegasus rider a short distance away. She readied her javelin, and threw it at the unsuspecting rider. It did what Lyndsey wanted, knocked the rider off. She quickly swung into the saddle, and took off a few feet into the air, moving back to Alan. She had to duck to avoid a few well shot fire balls, and still had the damage. "We don't have any more vulneraries, two of our best fighters are cowering in a cave, and there's still more bandits than mercenaries. Leave them, and let's head north," she nodded the way they needed to go.
