'What about the others? Ralph, Zeiss and Brad are still out there.' Alan replied.

"We could leave them," suggested Lyndsey, trying not to sound to happy about the idea. "Better to save some lives than have all of us die." She kicked a mage, and tried to stab him with her lance. She missed, and she was barely able to weave out of the way of a retaliating lightning bolt. The sheer numbers made it hard to maneuver.

Alan landed and carried Matis to his wyvern. 'You can go ahead and do what ever you like, I'm going back for the others.' Alan jumped into his saddle again. 'And if I find out that you did anything to Dray'Gon, I'll find you.'

Damn, there goes that plan, thought Lyndsey, smirking. She kicked her mount higher in the air, looking for the boy thief. She could barely make out a small thief standing over a dead bandit. Risking several arrow shots, and taking one holy shot, she landed next to the young thief. "Get on. We're running," she said, holding a hand out for the boy. She had to duck a hand ax, but tried to remain as calm as possible.

"I can run without your help!" Ralph didn't really like the pegasus knight, he was fast enough on his feet to outrun most everybody even in their group. Especially the bandits.

"But Alan..." Matis said, as they were flying about a hundred feet over the ground. "What about Dray'Gon? I had a really hard time carrying him. I doubt a wyvern, much less a pegasus, would be able to carry him."
Zeiss, on the other hand...we've seen him teleport several times in the past couple of months. He should be able to get out of here on his own.
But then, something else came to his mind. Why? he thought. "Why...why would there be this many bandits trying to go into the desert? Don't you think it's weird? Maybe..." Damn! Hargus! He must be looking to get rid of Athos...but...there's no way they are crossing that desert. Especially with that sandstorm being there...

'I dunno Matis, maybe they are tracking us. perhaps they are relocating to another location since their hide out has been compromised.' Alan though deeply. 'Perhaps they think that they can prove us wrong if they have all eight hero's seemingly on their side.'

Zeiss was trapped in a fight with some bandits, he was still a long way from where he believed the energy surge had come from. He had discovered that there were some individuals that seemed to be on his side. Still there was no time to ask what exactly was going on.

"Fine by me," Lyndsey muttered, taking off. If the little boy thief didn't want a ride... She then remembered the dragon. He'd be heavy, but he'd be worth it when he came to. She steered her mount in the direction the rift was... and felt the pegasus jerk. Startled, Lyndsey looked down, to see that a ballista bolt had pierced the pegasus's wing. Growling, she held on, jumping at the last minute to save herself. Moving quickly, she found a parked pegasus rider, and tore the woman off the pegasus. In moments, she was flying towards the rift, again.

Zeiss had reached the rift. hostilities were drawing away from the cliff wall (or whatever) because of the bodies that were lying there. Not sure what he was going to find the shaman entered the opening in the wall. 'Dray'Gon?' He kneeled down beside the Mamkute and checked. 'Wake up! this is not the time for a quick nap!'

The escape had gone quite smoothly. Better than Matis would have hoped, actually.
Zeiss had somehow teleported again, this time appearing at the other side of the mountain. Why didn't he do that in the first place?, Ralph used his speed to blend in with the enemy, Lyndsey picked up a dazed Brad, and together with Alan, they used both the pegasus and wyvern to carry the human-form Dray'Gon.
Looking back, Matis saw Juchack and his cohorts being overwhelmed by the massive ammount of bandits. He could only hope that Athos was able to put a stop to them, because they had failed. Trying not to show said emotion, he simply looked forward. Then, noticed that both the pegasus and wyvern started a descent, most likely due to the dragon's weight.
"Alan, Lyndsey, let's land there. In that clearing over there." he said, pointing to a small open part of a nearby forest. They were in Lycia now, and had managed to cross the terrifying Nabata desert.

OoC:Like I said in the cbox, just in case it's "flooded" out, this is Kenshin posting as dray'gon right now. If I'm not RPing close to his style just pm it to my account, not this one and tell me what I'm doing wrong.
BiC:Dray'gon looked at Matis "Something about that fight got me thinking something, I must go back to Arcadia to ask Athos something. I know you guys need me but it's something I must know."

"D-Dray'Gon?" Matis asked. Dray had just woken up, and no one had noticed.
"If it's something you must do, then go. You don't even have to ask for permission." he said with a smile on his face. If Dray'Gon had something he really needed to know he might not be able to focus on fighting, and might get caught off guard. Matis didn't want anyone getting harmed just because they felt they had something else to do first, so the decision was simple.
Lyndsey and Alan had already landed on the clearing, as Zeiss teleported next to them, and Ralph came out of the woods, panting from the run.
"We'll be staying here for the night. I'll be the first one to keep watch over the group. Dray'Gon will be leaving, due to unresolved matters. However, he helped us greatly, giving us shade during the trip through the desert, fighting the bandits, and helping us making it past the sandstorm around Arcadia, and that was more than enough help."
Matis bowed at the Manakete, and leaned on a tree, resting his back.

'So, what in God's name can we do now?' Alan looked at the sky, if ever things looked hopeless, this was it.

Lyndsey sat down and leaned against a tree opposite Matis, smiling. Things looked good from here. Morale was down, and that meant people were less alert. She just waited, hoping for the "leader" to spread some wisdom.
