OOC: I loot dead bodies. >.>
"Well, now that they're dead... Easy pickings." He made his way towards one of the bandits and started going through pockets. He lifted a small device... "Why does this guy have a lockpick? Eh... Never mind. I probably don't want to know." Pocketing the item, he saw nothing of interest on the first bandit--- unless he wanted to carry that axe. And he decided against that one.
Going towards the other bandit, he had to hold his breath as he reached inside those pants to grab a vulnerary. The bandit wasn't very smart, and didn't notice the gesture. He decided that he wouldn't find anything else of value, as the man had already looted the mage's possessions.
He heard the word rich, and perked up. "More easy pickings, eh? You sure know how to bribe a guy. I'm in." And then... "Bern? Man, I just came from there. A lotta travelling for nothing."

"Hey, it's not a waste of a walk. I'm sure the Lord's going to let his companions get some stuff from his castle," Matthias's gaze took in the surrounding area. "After all, if we're going into some bandit lair, I'd like to be better equipped, personally."
He glanced over, to study the thief.
"You know, if there was some sort of pawn shop, we could do something with those shoddy axes..." he pointed out, kicking one such ax. "Oh, and I beat you to the plunder, didn't I? Sorry 'bout that, nothing good anyway."
Unless you count mage tomes that neither of us can use, Mattias thought to himself smiling. Of course, the only mage currently in the group was just as likely to use the tome on Matthias as on the bad guy, but that's how things worked some times...
OoC: Kyo, there's an elixer on Shaman #1. Matthias didn't take it... got distracted by a piece of paper.

Seeing as the thief was obviously distracted by goodies, and Sain was upset at the traitors, Matthias began trying to figure out the best way to get to the bandit base. Obviously, all three of them needed to go, that was a give in. With the forces that were supposed to be massing there, they were going to need as much help as they could. Besides, Sain and Kyo both possessed talents that made them valuable to any fight...
He glanced down at the paper, trying to figure something out. Maybe... the mages could teleport them there! Of course... they'd need something to focus on... His cloak! He could get the mages to focus on the cloak, and transport the three of them there. It was so brillant a plan that Matthias had to stand still for a second or two, stroking his ego. Finally, he grabbed one of the Mages that was with Sain, and expounded his plan. The mage thought he was absolutely insane, but agreed. The only drawback is that they would have to be teleported one at a time. Unfortunately, Matthias was the best choice for first.
A Few Moments later...
Matthias stood in the circle drawn by the Ostian Mages, wondering exactly how long it took to teleport. True, he wanted his body intact at its destination. Suddenly, the circle glew, and Matthias felt something move...
OoC: sorry guys, I'm moving on.
OoC (after Sain's post): curse you Sain. Curse you for actually using your brain. Matthias is just worried... about.. uh... his cloak. Yeah, that's it. Besides, you really want to stay because you think the mage messed up the teleportation. (which is a really good idea... strand Matthias in the middle of the desert...)

OoC: I don't need no steenkin' Elixer. =O and you guys really need to be more patient. ;.;
IC: "Well, that seems dangerous AND stupid." Kyo muttered. So, of course, after the archer he had just saved disappeared, Kyo followed suit. The mages around him started going through the same things as what they did when they teleported the archer. He felt something intangible wrap around his stomach, and then it jerked viciously as he was pulled through the portal.
OoC: And away from the topic I go. :/

Alexia rode up to the palace, her horse heaving with the exertion. She flew out of the saddle, landing in front of an armored knight. "There's a massive bandit attack in Santaruz, I'm not sure how long they'll be able to hold out," she quickly explained. She pointed in the general direction she had left. "In fact, that looks like a group of refugees now." The wyvern riders could be seen coming even from this distance. They were moving fast, as though the entire force of the bandits was behind them. "I believe you may want to tell the lord of the palace, he might want to know,' nodding, the armored knight waved for Alexia to follow. She went deep into the palace, hoping to find the lord.
OoC: I'm not sure if Sain's around or not, if he's not, I suppose I can just find his proxy...

Her search was fruitless, if the lord was home, then he was no where to be found. Eventually, a heavily armored knight stopped her, turning her to face him. "Care to tell me why your storming through the palace?" he asked, keeping his voice polite. Alexia took a deep breath, not wanting to overreact. It didn't help. "Santaruz is under attack from a bandit horde! They need help and the need it fast!" she blurted, her voice rising. "Ostia is supposed to protect the other territories, right?"
The knight blinked a few times, and smiled reasurringly. He led Alexia to a window, which overlooked the Santaruz camp. "Those are the refugees from the very place your talking about, if I'm not mistaken. We've already got troops over there, and supplies are being gathered as we speak," he explained. "Sorry you wasted your time storming around." Alexia's mouth opened and shut a few times, as she felt the heat rising to her cheeks. "I'd better ride out there, to make sure everyone's okay." "you do that," the knight replied, smiling. Trying to fight down the blush, Alexia walked out of the building.

She hadn't even left the walls when someone called out to her. A small girl had wondered out of city. Sighing, Alexia walked up to the girl. "Hey, what are you doing out here?" she asked, bending over. The girl looked up at the cavalier. "You're a girl," she said, her eyes growing wide. Alexia smiled, and ruffled the girl's curly brown hair. "Of course, silly, so are you," she glanced down and saw a small ball of fluff in the girl's arm. A quick prod caused the thing to yipe, and confirmed her suspicion of it being a dog. "Fluff ran away," explained a girl, holding up the dog. "I see, well, you probably shouldn't wonder out here alone, it's dangerous right now," explained Alexia, extending a hand. "Come on, I'll take you to your parents." They walked back into the castle, and the girl quickly led Alexia to a worried mother. "Mommy, mommy, look! It's a girl knight! You said girls couldn't be knights!" the girl's eyes shone as she pointed at Alexia. She blushed, and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear before straightening up. "I guess I was wrong," admitted the mother, eyeing the armored female before her. "You're from Pherae, aren't you? Are they sending reinforcements?" Alexia shifted, and felt her body deflate. "There's a few of us, but not a great number. I'm sure you have nothing to fear. Ostia is filled with skilled troops, it has never fallen before."
the woman nodded, but Alexia could tell her words didn't comfort the woman much. Sighing, Alexia turned to the bandit camp. She suddenly felt like finding a bed...

Grimbold landed right before the castle gate, the knights stationed there had lifted their spears unsure whether they were enemies. 'That will be all Grimbold return to camp.' Alan hoped the knights would recognize Matthias and let them through.

Matthias got off the wyvern at an uncanny speed, and looked over at the guards.
"Hey there, recognize me? That's right, that stupid archer who joined up with Lord Sain. I came in with the Santaruz refugees. This esteemed wyvern rider is Alan," he waved towards Alan. "Is the Lord present?" He sincerely hoped that Sain was doing something. Pouting, getting in touch with family, hell, he could be taking a bubble bath for all Matthias cared. Just so the archer wouldn't have to explain what he was doing in Santaruz.
"the Lord is preoccupied at the moment," explained a knight, looking over the two. "I suppose you really are an Ostian vassal."
Matthias just nodded, and glanced over at Alan. He'd been the one who'd wanted to come here, he could do all the talking.

Alexia heard the men talking, and had seen the wyvern landing. Curious, she approached the conversation. The wyvern rider was Alan, she remembered him from the battle at Santaruz. The other, was definately Matthias. She recognized him instantly, and began glaring at the scruffy archer. So that's who had been on the wyvern's back in Santaruz. She hadn't gotten a good look until just now. She stood by, waiting to see what Alan had to say. She'd "talk" to Matthias, but she'd wait until their business was finished.
