Lumino couldn't say why he decided to take a walk so close to the castle of Bern, but something seemed to call him there today. If it was anything, perhaps it was fate. The young mage didn't know anything about that, and soon regreted coming this close to the castle.
"You there! Halt and state your bussiness!"
"Eh?" Lumino turned with a puzzled expression, and looked straight at the lance pointed at his nose. "Uh...Wah!" He added as he took a step back and tripped over the hem of his own cloak. Landing hard on his backside he blinked for a second, taking in the laughter of the guard above him.
"Get your fool ass off these grounds, or we'll teach you a leason about treading where you shouldn't!"
"B-But...I was just taking a walk! I didn't do anything!" Lumino complained as he stood up and dusted himself off. Unfortunatly, the guard mistook the dusting motion as a spellcasting motion, and Lumino's face was soon greeted by the butt of the lance. He toppled to the ground again.
"Agh!" Lumino cursed out, his lip bleeding. "What the hell was that for?!"
"Attempting to attack a member of the guards, and insulting his majesties guards! Maybe some time in the prison will straighten you out!" And with that he blew a small silver whistle.
"What?! No way!" With a jump he was on his feet, and he took off down the path. The shouts of the guards behind him only made him run faster. A look behind him revealed around a dozen guards, now chasing him with full arms. He turned his attention back to the road just in time to see the low tree branch.
And his world faded to darkness.

His eyes flicked open slowly, adjusting to the dark ambient light of the dank cell.
He stood up quickly in surprise, but the throbing in his head knocked him down again, as he took in his surroundings.
Right. He'd had that run in with the guard, he started to run...and they must have caught him, by the looks of this cell.
"Crap crap crap." He muttered out loud. "What the hell am I gonna do?" He could spy his spellbook on a far table, along with his cloak and other belongings. Getting on the wrong side of Bern's infamous guards was never a smart thing to do, but somehow he had pulled it off. He'd probably be in here for years before anyone even lifted a bureocratic finger to help him. The more he thought about it, the more clear it became in his mind. The only way out of this cell, was to break out.
"God I wish I had an Unlocking staff right about now...that and I wish I paid attention to how to USE staves." He remarked, scratching his head. How was he to get out of this one? He sat down and began formulating a plan of escape.

OOC: I was gonna wait for the Bern group to round myself up with the plot, but because that will take a while, I'll do it myself.
Seveal hours had past since Lumino starting formulating a plan. All he had was that he needed three goats and a large piece of pulverized lead. It wasn't the best plan in the world, but it was something.
"Gah!" He sighed esasperated. "How am I gonna get out of the most well protected dungeon in the world?!"
"Maybe not announce your escape plans to the whole room?" A guard said from the other side of the dungeon.
"Shut up! That was a rhetorical question!" It was at that moment a fairly large procession of guards came down the stairs, a rather beat up person, and someone dressed as a noble in tow.
"Sir!" The guard stood up and saluted. The noble paid him no mind.
"Throw this one in the cell, he was caught in my house. I want him in here until I can have him executed."
"S-sir. We don't have any open cells at the moment. What with the increase in violence in the area..."
"Then MAKE room soilder. Your hear to do MY work, do it now!"
"Y-Yes sir!" The soilder quickly looked down the block. Murderer, Thief, Bandit, Assassin. He couldn't get rid of any of these. Then he realized something...
"You." He said pointing at Lumino, "Why are you here?!"
"Accused of threatening and insulting a guard." Lumino said as he lay down on his 'bed'.
"What?! Get out of there! We need that cell!" With swift motions, probably instilled by fear, he threw open the cell and uncerimoniously threw Lumino out. "Get out of here! Next time we won't be so nice, we'll just have you executed!"
Panic on his face, he grabbed his book and cloak and ran up the stairs, not giving a second look to the noble or his entourage of guards.
He had barely made it outside of the castle gates when he heard a familiar voice.
"You again! Didn't I tell you to not be around here again?!"
He didn't even stop running. His feet carried him well off the castles property. And this time he remembered to duck as he passed the tree. Once he had gotten himself out of the city, he realized something.
"Did they just say I wasn't even important enough to be in prison?"

OoC: So very fitting.
Lyndsey had flown deep into Bern's territory. It was hard to avoid the constant wyvern patrols, but she managed it. Finally, she was outside the castle itself. Time to make her announcement. She found a wyvern patrol, and snuck behind them. Once she had an opening, she hurled her javelin at the weakest looking wyvern. It wobbled in the air, and its movement caught the attention of the entire patrol. "I'm here for a deserter named Alan. Bring him to me or face the consequences."

The lead wyvern rider laughed at the little pegasus knight. She responded by hurling her javelin with more force than she'd thought she was possible of using. The rider tumbled from his saddle, and fell to the ground below. "So, who wants to die next?" she hissed, clutching another javelin. The flyers looked at each other, obviously nervous. One nodded to another, and the latter flew back to the palace. "You'll have to come with us," the remaining "leader" stated. Lyndsey nodded, and let them fly around around her. This was obviously some rookie patrol, which made sense. All their good fighters had to have gone to invade Santaruz. She was so close to Alan she could taste it... Unless he was hiding somewhere...
Cursing her own stupidity, Lyndsey let herself be escorting into the castle of Bern.

Lyndsey and her guard landed on the wyvern point of Bern's castle. Immediately after they touched, a servant appeared. "Lady Lyndsey, Ilian mercenary and Alan's lover?" he asked. Lyndsey glared at him. "The last is an exaggeration. We are merely comrades at arms," she explained. The servant smiled. "Well, your 'comrade' is our guest, and I believe the ruling body has a proposition for you," the servant waved Lyndsey in. Sighing, the pegasus knight followed.

OOC: I might as well use the thread too, since it is here.
IC: The war party marched into the castle gates, while the soldiers on patrol moved aside for them. The assistant captain gestured to Lumino.
"I will be making my report to the noble Lord Ashton. You will follow me and make your report afterwards, is that understood?"
"It is." Lumino responded simply. He hadn't heard of any noble named Ashton before, so he must have been a lower ranking noble. But he still had enough authority to have him killed, so he would have to watch his words. This was not his first trip into the castle of Bern, but it was certainly more enjoyable then the last time. They marched towards what must have been the royal chamber, but just then Lumino saw something that made his blood run cold. A familiar red head was walking down the hallway with a full escort. She...was that Pegasus knight that was with Alan. She caught his gaze, and it was clear she recognized him as well. Their faces gave the same message.
What the hell are you doing here?

The little mageling that followed the "heroes" around was there. Lyndsey scowled. Was he going to ruin her plans? There was no time for her to talk to him... the servants had escorted the two of them to this leader's place. "Since you both have business with the same lord, why don't you both talk to him?" the annoying servant who'd been with Lyndsey for the duration smiled at the two. Without sparing a glance at the mageling, Lyndsey hurried into the chamber.

Not good! Not good! This is very very bad... Lumino thought to himself, going over the plan in his head. For some reason he couldn't fathom they had not killed Lyndsey on sight, not that it was a bad thing. But now she had seen him, in mere seconds his cover would be blown. Lumino stopped in his tracks and quickly thought.
"We have military business to discuss with him. It should be private. But if he has called a 'personal' guest, then I suppose we would have to wait." The assistant captain looked slightly irked on being asked to wait, but the fact remained that it appeared Lyndsey was invited here, so she may have had a deeper connection with this noble then either of them knew.
Lumino stepped back to allow her to enter the chamber.

Lyndsey paused at the entrance, snagging the boy's shirt. "Look here, I'm here for Alan. If you blow my cover I'll kill you, understand?" she hissed. It was all the threat she had time to make before she finished hurrying into the chamber. Soon, she stood alone in front of a round table. She had seen war rooms before, and wasn't overly impressed by this one. Spartan, with a few scarred veterans and the one lord standing at the head of the table. "The Lady Lyndsey, I believe we have reports of your activities," Lord Ashton smiled at Lyndsey. The smile actually unnerved the pegasus knight. "I believe you know why I'm here?" "Yes, you're here for that traitor, Alan. Well, unfortunately for you, he's up for execution, soon," the lord stated. Lyndsey fought back her initial impulse: to attack the smug lord. "Would there be some way to stay that execution?" she asked.

Alan was here? Now why would he do something so stupid? Lumino had returned to Bern before, but he was just a spellcaster, nothing really gave him away as being a Bern defector on the battlefield. But Alan was a Wyvern Rider, his very existence branded him as a traitor. Why would he return to Bern?
Interested, Lumino listened intently to what Lyndsey had to say.

Lord Ashton smiled. "You are a mercenary of no small skill, correct? Currently working for a small group of renegades?" he asked. Lyndsey shifted. "I'm currently unemployed," she responded. "Then here's our proposition. Pledge to work for Bern, help us defeat these renegades. In exchange, we'll spare Alan's life. In fact, you might even end up fighting on the same side," Lord Ashton smiled again. Lyndsey didn't hold back her shudder. "So, let me get this straight. You want me to work for you, in exchange for someone's life?" she clarified. "Naturally you will use your contacts to gather more troops. My sources tell me you helped gather Santaruz's forces in time," Aston replied. Lyndsey shifted again. "Fine. But I must see him first." "Of course," Lord Ashton beckoned a servant. "Lead Lady Lyndsey to Alan. And let the boy in, we'll hear what he has to say."

OOC: Well you didn't screw him up, but the fact of you being here causes a few problems.
IC:
Lumino was gestured into the room, passing Lyndsey, who didn't even glance at him on her way out. Once he was certain the door was sealed, and that she was not close to the door anymore he kneeled and began to speak.
"My Lord, my name is Lumino, the late captain Archavious, sent on a mission to attack Santaruz, was my older brother. For some time I have been traveling with the renegades you mentioned. I have since passed this information of their hiding spots on to my brother, who unfortunately met his end thanks to one of them at a small village a few days out of Santaruz Castle."
The assistant captain spoke up though. "And what proof do you have of this? I had never heard him mention anything about a informative among them."
Lumino merely glanced at the man. "What good is a spy if everyone knows about them. I relayed this information directly to him. I started doing this after we first met on the battlefield of Ostia. I was involved in that battle, and managed to convince the renegades that I was on their side. What is more, I have very valuable information I can rely to you on them and their abilities."
The Lord leaned forward, defiantly interested. "Well, then speak. And you may rise."
Lumino stood up and moved to the war table. He pulled several of the little figures, looking among them for the right examples. On the map he began setting them down.
"A Phaerian cavalier by the name of Alexia lead a small group of them north to Eturia. She was accompanied by myself, a brigand named Sergey, a peerlees archer named Matthias, and an odd Eturian Noble named Marzius. Matthias was slain by the reincarnation of St. Elmine, as I witnessed this first hand. I doubt very much that they were able to do anything significant there with their small force, but this Alexia is not to be underestimated."
He placed the pieces in Eturia, and picked up the next group of figures. "The second group was lead by a few Sacaens. Their names are Kenshin, Katara, Solka, and Kana. They were headed, of course, to the Sacae plains. The first two, Kenshin and Katara, are very powerful, and extremely dangerous. I think Kenshin's name has already found it's way here."
"The last group is what interests me most though." He said thinking. "It consisted of Alan the traitorous Wyvern Lord, that women Lyndsey, a man named Matis that I know very little about, though he seems to be Kenshin's brother, and a few weaklings of no real note. Also, a dragon by the name of Dray'gon was to go with them, but I am unsure of what happened to him. Another very dangerous opponent. They were to head to Ilia to gather reinforcements from the people there. I have heard nothing from this group, but the presence of Alan and Lydsey both at the battle of Santaruz suggests that they were separated. This small group of people has upset two different invasions, surely you cannot underestimate them anymore. I offer my skills to the crown, I know them, they trust me. I can get you all the information you need, and the perfect chance to lure them into the final ambush. What do you think?"
Lumino finished his little show and stepped back. Ashton looked deep in thought.
"I will consider this. Please show him to a room until I have made my decision." And with that he was escorted out of the hall.

Alan eyes opened immediately when he heard foot steps. It isn't feeding time yet... Looks like this is it. He had been put in a deserted cell block after they were sure he had nothing of value to tell them. The door opened with a loud crack.'Get out 'o the cell, ye mut. You got a visitor.' 'Sorry, I really don't have time right now, could you tell them to come ooooo, Friday?'
After a fix beating Alan was escorted out of the cell.

Lyndsey stood outside the room, shifting nervously. She'd been doing a lot of that lately. The servants were stalling, and she knew it. "Dammit, you'd better not be lying to me! I'm the reason you lost Santaruz castle," she glared at the servant. For some reason they hadn't taken away her weapons yet. Their mistake.
Finally, they opened the door, and shoved Lyndsey int o a room.
