the hell is he bringing that up for? "You came up. Naturally my sister wanted to know why I was heading to Bern," Lyndsey stated. She sure wasn't going to tell them she'd gotten her sister's blessing to take things as far as they needed to go.

'Excuse me? Commander Alan?' Alan was relieved that he didn't have too end the conversation himself, but as usual you couldn't tell by his response. 'What?! What is that you want, why can't I eat a normal meal for once in my life?!' The servant was quite taken aback by the agrresive response. 'Y-you and your sub-commander have been asked to lead a recon flight of trainee's from the Academy into the plains of Sacae. You are to leave tomorrow.' Apparantly there was more to it. but the servant merely hackled away and fell silent. 'Good.' Alan stood up. 'Tell the nuggets that we leave at first light. If anyone is late, we leave without them.' When the servant didn't move Alan got angry again. 'Think you remember all? Do I need to write it down for you?' 'I don't r-read, si-.' 'JUST GO!' The servent ran out of the dining room causing a few heads to turn as he went.
Meanwhile Alan sank back to his seat. 'I think I missed yelling at people.'

"You do it so well too," added Lyndsey, smirking. She glanced towards a window. "Sacae, huh? Isn't that where everyone was heading? It's certainly the last place I'd want to take trainees... unless you like the idea of flying pincushions." She started in on her dessert. The servants all eyed her, having never seen a woman put away so much food.

Alan also started on his desert. 'But they don't know that.' Alan said with a smirk. 'Although, we don't know if the Saceans will listen to Kenshin or follow Hanon like the Etrurians. But if Kenshin does things right, we don't have anything to worry about.'

Lyndsey nodded. She didn't know Kenshin that well... but. "He's not exactly the master of diplomacy though, is he? We'd better hope he leaves most of the talking to Katara."

'True enough but if Kenshin is smart, he may steal one of Matis' world famous we-can-do-it speeches.' Alan said with a smirk. 'But we should get a some sleep if we're going to leave at first light.'

Lyndsey nodded in agreement. "Some rest is definitely in order," she agreed, rising from her seat. She looked at Alan expectantly. She didn't know Bern's castle...

Alan lead her out of the dining room and to the officiers' quarters. There two servants were already waiting for them, to show them to their respective bedrooms.

Lyndsey bid Alan good night, and followed the servant into her new bedroom. Things had moved quickly for her, and she sat on the bed for a while, not daring to go to sleep yet.

Alan stood in front of his window gazing at the stars. I must have been mad to agree to this, it's far too dangerous for Lyndsey. He thought. But then aother thought came to him. It is the best way to escape that cell and stay informed off their plans. That was the old Alan talking, he kinda wished he was still utterly ruthless, he would havenever gotten caught if he was.

At least sleep caught Lyndsey, and she drifted off. her dreams made her warm, almost uncomfortably so, and she was ready when a servant woke her early in the morning. She quickly dressed in her armor and headed for the rookery (makes more sense than stables...), to find her pegasus. Hopefully Priya hadn't been eaten by wyverns.

When the servant entered the room he found Alan still standing by the window. 'Sir?' 'Yes, I'll be out in a moment.' Alan grabbed the little gear he took off and headed for the rookery.
When he arrived it was already filled with trainees. He counted 21, which was little over half of the people that were suppose to show up. Guess at least some of these people had the brains to get the hell out of the military. 'Alright, get on your steeds and into the air. Sub-Commander Lyndsey will be leading the formation. There will be no talking.' Alan waited for them to leave before mounting himself.

Lyndsey did as "Commander" Alan suggested, taking off early and leading the group of trainees. She really didn't care overmuch that they were about to be slaughtered by Sacean archers. It would serve Bern right... though these 21 "soldiers" seemed awfully young. She tried to remember which way Sacae was, she knew generally, but...

Alan flew at the rear of the group pretending to watch the trainees and revent them from making mistakes but in reality still lost in thought. Should he run into the other he'd have a hard time explaining the situation.

Lyndsey resisted the urge to keep checking over her shoulder every once in a while. She was unsure of the terrain, and not entirely certain she was going the right direction. It would look bad if she were to ask one of the trainees, but she still considered it. The only thing that stopped her was the knowledge that they most likely had no idea where to go either... Next time, I bring a map
