Centuries had he waited. His life was but for this purpose, he knew that now. And the time to accomplish his destiny was drawing near. It had been just shy of four weeks since he issued his warning to Matthias. 27 days ago it was, they had only 3 days to complete their end of the bargain. The death of that stupid human, the one called Hargus, and the final destruction of those revived demons. And as the warning was, if they failed to do it, then he would. And he wouldn't be kind or polite about it either.
Bern, a nation formed by the strongest of a pack of vermin, and they acted as such. They turned a blind eye to their nations evil, so they had no right to complain when they burned along with it. But no, no there was a better way to do this then to outright attack the capital. That would be fatal, and incredibly foolish. Perhaps he could use these mortals after all, to distract the enemy for him so he could finish what his ancestors had started.
But how to call these mortals to the edges of Bern, he could think of only one way.
"Hmph, if mortal man wishes to call me a monster...I'd best live up to their expectations." With a load roar echoing from the cave he had made his lair for the past 4 weeks, Aerious transformed and flew into the sky once again. It was said that long ago humans used plumes of smoke to send messages.
The irony that Aerious was doing the exact same thing was not lost on him.

Soaring through the sky, Alan passed the border and entered Bern. Whether it was because Malte was guiding him, anger for the massacre on his countrymen or simply selfish bloodlust Alan was aching to get to Aerious and make him suffer.
He followed the trail of smoke and was closing in on his target.

Alan would cross over the horizon to a horrible sight. A town, small and insignificant, it probably contained no more then a hundred or so people, burned to cinders. It would seem unlikely that anyone would be found within this ruin.
OOC: I am trying a new idea with this topic, to see if it works right. Instead of Alan direct interacting with other people, he can explore the town and I control the NPCs with this account. And before you say I will deduct the posts from my account for every post Aerious isn't in.

Alan landed at in the edge of the village, or what was left of it. He's gonna get away at this rate! But there's no way help would arrive in time for any survivors... Making up his mind Alan ran into the ruined town.

Upon entering the ruined town Alan would see many flash fired houses and walls. A seemingly stable wall covered with soot disintegrated into ash as his armored hand ran over it. The fire must have been omni-present for the destruction to be so total, with no gaps or safe spots from the fires wrath. Almost as if the entire area burst into total and complete flames at the same moment.
If Alan looked hard enough he would find, meshed in with the blasted stones, fragments of bones, equally charred. Not a scrape of flesh, hair or cloth remains to be seen.
It is after this search that Alan's experienced ears would hear something he was very used to hearing.
Wings...

After he was completely sure none had survived Aerious' onslaught, Alan crouched on the ground for a second, sighing. Suddenly his Spidey senses were tingli- I mean he heard something...
Wings, is he coming back? Or has the Bern sent a detachement to check out what the smoke is about? If so they've picked the wrong day then it sucks to be them Alan thought grasping his Steel Blade's hilt.

True enough, the skies were filled with wings, a group of roughly one dozen wyverns closing in on the ruin. The formation they kept would indicate that they had not yet noticed Alan. It was a formation he would be familiar with, that of a scouting party. It did not look like they were set for any large scale engagement, but still they did have the advantage of numbers over most things.

As soon as it was clear that it were wyverns that were approaching Alan could guess most things about their numbers and objective. Immediately he considered his options. I could send Grimbold away and hide in the ruins, or play dead, this armor has got the bloodstains to go with, Obviously I can engage them head on, or pretend that I'm a Bernian soldier. Lastly I could make a run for it, I don't want to lead this boys right into a Dragon's den, almost literally but I guess that's my best option. With that thought in mind he made a run for his wyvern.

The soldiers did of course notice the man running for a wyvern, and reacted accordingly. Two of the dozen split off and returned the way they came, while the other ten began to fan out, in an attempt to circle the town before Alan could take off.
They were still too far away to communicate over the roaring winds.

Don't hasten yourself, it's only one wyvern rider against the 10 of us. The natural strategic move, and of course, a grave miscalculation... Alan thought as he jumped onto Grimbold without slowing his pace. He grabbed a Spear and focused his attention on the nearest opponent.

OOC: I assumed you didn't mean to jump on a legendary weapon so I fixed it to 'Grimbold'.
IC: At seeing Alan mount his Wyvern and draw a weapon, what must have been the leader drew his sword and brought it down in a sharp slash, and the circling wyverns began to dive in, though not directly attacking.
Alan would be familiar with this tactic as well, they flew around, darting and passing through to attempt to disorient their opponent. The nine wyverns flying past him turned to make large arcs and another pass, and then three of the riders drew lances and went in for the first attacks, timed perfectly sequentially to avoid the chance of a collision.

Alan barely had time to react to the first attack, with his left hand he unsheated his Steel Sword and blocked the Wyvern Lord's attack with a resounding clink. With his right arm he thrust his Spear up, he didn't hit anyone but as they dodged the Spear Grimbold followed the opened path in his enemies and flew out of the encirclement. Alright, the best way to envoke an enemies scorn and disorganise them is to slay the leader first. Alan thought as he turned around to face his opponents once more. Not waiting for them to move first this time he drove Grimbold right back at his opponents and clashed his Steel Sword at the leader.

The soldiers were surprised, to say the least, when Alan dove right through their ranks making a beeline for their commander. To attack him when he was at such velocity would only serve to break formations, so they divided and began to form a 'jaw' behind him, as he charged towards the commander.
The commander for his part, raised his sword high and lowered his faceplate, driving his Wyvern directly towards Alans. They met in a mess of claws and blades, as he parried Alan's attack with his own sword. He then rounded his mount and went back to go on the offensive on the second pass.

Alan however didn't stop, in fact he accelerated. All his enemies were moving in the opposite direction, and none were directly in front of him. He resumed his course towards the most recent smoke plumes.

Alan managed to sneak past them, but they quickly resumed formation to attempt to pass him by. As it was he was flying deeper into Bern, so it was unlikely he would escape.
As Alan drew closer to the next plume of smoke he noticed something, it wasn't a destroyed town, it was a fire plume coming from a town, not completely destroyed like the last one.
Investigating this area might be hard with the troops still hot on his tail.
