Nobles, bah why should she care for them? Aleth really didn't like talking about nobles, knights, and all of those political stuff! This guy didn't seem so bad, but that was just reading the cover. It will take awhile for her to determine what he's really like, hopefully he wasn't as bad as those drunk mercenaries she had to work with once. Keeping her mind off of things she took out some dry covering and began the pain staking task of drying off all the parts of her giant sword.
"Go ahead, I have to make sure my weapon is at tip top shape," she said cheerfully while doing the annoying task.

As Rayl ventured further from the cave, he was noticing only one thing: Aleth was like the rough and rude version of Persephone, not to mention more talkative...though not as kind he'd admit. His task too was painstaking, for he was trying to find DRY firewood in a WET sea of grass, grass, and more grass, so he was glad to be thinking of other things at the time.Hanging to the walls nearby the cave, hoping by chance to come along a pile of wood, he couldn't help but notice the smoke rising up from just around a boulder a fair distance before him, and the faint sound of drunken laughter, which usually meant one thing: Bandits.
So naturally he went to take a peek, looking behind the boulder (and appearently over a cliff), to where four men sat around a fire, dry due to the shelter provided for them by the cliff's overhanging, while a fifth man came back holding a rather large sword, around them being bags filled with most likely loot...While Rayl reeeally wanted to go in and get rid of them he was without: Aid. Armor. and Horse. So he slowly made his way back towards the cave, picking up some dry wood he hadn't noticed.

Aleth was still drying her sword off when Rayl came back with the firewood. She sort of felt bad for not helping him, but she had been thinking. It must be her duty to help out with anyway she could. So whatever Rayl need her to do she would gladly, thats what she decided. Well hopefully she'll keep her promise, then again she does.
"Is there anything I can help with?"

Rayl slumped down on the floor, wiping the rain off his face, as he began to prepare the fire,"That all depends..." he had his own spear ready, as his horse actually understood the signal and got to it's feet, as he took a sharpening stone from one of the bags on the floor, and began using lance and said rock to ignite the wood with the sparks, which finally a flame going, he continued,"...Is that sword of yours ready...?"

Aleth remained silent for a minute as she quickly polished off the last bit of water on her sword. She smiled happily at the newly finished and shiny weapon of hers. She turned and nodded to Rayl. If they were going to get into a fight then so be it. Hopefully this fight will help them out or something. As long as it had nothing to do with any villagers through.
"Sure, what's on your mind?" "A fight probably, but who's the target?"

"Well, the old knight who trained me of the code always told me to judge a new comrade by fighting besides them so...it seems we have the perfect oppertunity. Bandits are farther out, and it appears they haave been doing their share of pillaging...I'll handle the swordsmen, you get the men with the axes."
All throughout this little explaination, Rayl was strapping on his armor, then saddling up, looking down to her,"Need a lift there? Or would you rather walk." he was smiling, still thinking about how she was similiar to Persephone...probably from Ilia too...

"Alright then lets head out, I don't think you would want any extra weight to slow us down," Aleth replied calmly before strapping back her sword. Then with a bust of energy she charged out of the cave ready to fight whatever is ahead. Bandits were better then fighting villagers. She knew it was impossible to come back without any damage, but if she tried hard enough then she could take care of them.

"Yeah, I may have to fight on foot...doubt my horse hear would prefer going out and fighting in all this rain..." he looked to his steed, which snorted as it trotted right on out of the cave...right when he was about to dismount from it...oh well, that worked, as he got a firm grip on the reins, looking back to Aleth as he continued on to where the bandits were.

Aleth followed obediently to where the bandits were camping out in a dry area. They seemed pretty happy where they were and it only made her more anxious to fight. They didn't seem so tough, but surely ruthless she concluded. Well it was now or she will have to wait. Waiting will help cooperation between her and Rayl. Through she didn't want to get to engrossed with a knight.
"Well, when can we start this fight?" she asked excitedly. It has been a long time since she had gotten loose.

"Wait for it...." he honestly didn't want to do something that would harm Aleth, that was the LAST thing he'd want to happen: have another person he knew lost, though she'd techically be the first casualty...watching the people carefully, he waited for a perfect oppertunity, until the chance came: the man with the spear had walked farther away, the perfect chance for Aleth to get in and not get killed,"...Now."

At the signal, Aleth jumped from her hiding spot and charged at the nearest axe bandit. The man seemed pretty surprised and practically fell off of his spot. Somehow the other managed to grab his axe and shielded his friend. This will be hard she knew from the beginning. Soon enough chaos started as people started to scream and shot all over the place. One of those bandits managed to jab her in the shoulders, but that only helped her out, as she managed to get her sword caught up at its edge to make him lose his grip. She looked over to see what Rayl was doing.

Rayl had charged his horse head on, leaping up and over a man with an axe, to cut off the spearmen that was running for Aleth, as he swung his lance as if it were a sword, knocking the man over, before thrusting the spear downwards...but this man was indeed clever, and had rolled out of the way, striking the knight in the side with the shaft of the lance, almost knocking Rayl off his horse, though said mount, settled for kicking the attacker into the wall, before this time he was run through with the lance, as Rayl then turned to the three axemen, who had actually ignored the knight on the horse, going after what they thought to be a frail little girl...well, may as well take a brief moment to see Aleth fight, as his arrow wounds and the wound from now still hurt like crap, before downing the rest of his vulnerary, but kept the bottle: he could use it to store something later.

Aleth ducked a few swings of the axes, before toppling over to avoid another from the others. Three against one wasn't fair at all, so it was best to just go fill out. With that thought she charged at the nearest man, and slammed into his chest. It caused him to topple over onto the ground. At that very moment she took the bottom hilt of the sword and slammed it against the side of his head. It knocked him out at least. The only problem now is, the others seemed pretty angry.

((Ehh...Hope you don't mind if I join in...)) Night sighed as he dully looked around the campfire. How did he get caught up with this band of no-good backstabbers? Oh yeah...the money. First law of the mercenary:Everything begins and ends with money. Still, this was getting down right annoying. If only something would happen...
And then, as if to be a cruel irony, something happened. A woman suddenly charged one of his new 'friends', while a man in armor, probably some sort of knight, impaled another. The mercenary sprung to his feet, sword drawn, quickly choosing wich one too attack. The girl seemed to be preoccupied with three men already, and he really didn't feel like an overkill. That left him with the knight. Great..he hated lance weilders...
The mercenary approached the knight, his sword resting on his shoulder. "...I guess we both know what happens now." he said with relative calmness. "At any rate..lets not babble. I just want to kill you and be done with it. Nothing personal, though. I just need the work." he stated. Night then charged towards the cavalier, and swung his sword in a horizontal motion.

Rayl just stared at the man, not reacting...his horse did that, as it reared onto it's hind legs, taking steps backwards and away from the weapon, before getting back down on all fours,"...Is this the life you truely have chosen sir? Harming anyone just for the money? Your a mercenary just like the girl there, but there is one difference: She fights with dignity...while you fight with bandits." He waved a hand around at all the bags and boxes," I took a good look at what was in these...money, paintings, fancy dresses...now why on EARTH would mercenaries want dresses...? Exactly." Dispite his situation, this was said rather cooly,"Now...if you know what is just and what is not, you will help us out...and if you REALLY are money-grubbing, I could pay you..."
