Really?, Matis sighed.
"Sure", he said, as both moved Aerious to his room, leaving him on his bed.
"We should get some sleep as well. We'll see what to do next tomorrow morning in the inn's lobby" he said, waving to Matthias, as he entered his own room.
Two are down. They were seven, and one of them is on our side. That means only four remain...
OoC: Matis doesn't know about Hanon's death, so it should be correct. Unless they were 8 heroes, and I don't remember who the last one was. >_>

Morning came, and Aerious felt the sun hit his eyes. He ached all over, and he struggled to lean up. He couldn't yet, so he stay where he was trying to remember what had happened. Entering the castle, killing those guards, getting captured, then the final image entered his head. Losing consciousness and seeing that bastard getting up. This was enough to send him bolt upright, his body screaming in pain.
"Agggh!" He cried, feeling the wound in his chest re open. That damn spear of his, this would would not heal quickly. Waiting a few more minutes he got up and began to walk, luckily he could make it to his healing salves, which he treated the wound with. In a little bit he would be ok, not healed, but ok at least.

Matthias had actually woken up fairly early, and was busy arguing with the innkeeper. (since in my mind inns always double as food places...) "C'mon! We just saved all your asses by killing off an evil zombie creature! I think that means we deserves some free fuckin' food!" The innkeeper met the ranting Matthias head on. The two of them engaged in an intense battle of wills. There was much eye-contact.

Aerious could hear Matthias talking quite loudly to someone downstairs. At this he was filled with a number of questions, it was very likely that they knew who he was, and they had stuck around. That either made them suicidal, or stupid. He scoffed to himself, humans were always such troublesome creatures. His wound was better then it was five minutes ago, so he stood and checked everything out. His stone had used up a good deal of power during that fight, he might need to find a place to pray to restore it. It used to be easier to use his abilities, but in this day and age even staying in his normal form taxed him.
With a sigh he decided that staying up here would solve nothing, and descended the stairs.

Matis too went downstairs upon hearing some shouting. He met with Aerious on the way.
"Are you okay? That wound sure looked deep", then, whispering, he added: "And don't worry. We've met Athos. In fact, he gave us the mission to hunt the other heroes. Your secret is safe with us." Matis then smiled, trying to comfort Aerious, as he proceeded to where Matthias was.
"What's the matter, shouting this early in the morning?"

OOC: Oooh boy, if there was one bad thing to say...
IC:
Aerious forgot all sense of subtly, all with what Matis had said.
"Don't worry, we've met Athos."
"You've met WHO?!" He half shouted. A mixture of amazement and panic on his face. Athos the Archsage, the most powerful magic user ever, that LAST person he ever wanted to meet. He never was any good at fighting mages. He had assumed he would have to deal with him eventually, but so soon? And why were they being so casual about this? Something didn't add up...they were here to kill these revived heroes, and they were spoke of this one as an ally? He killed just as many of his kind as Roland and Hartmut had, and he would of course be dead by now. So why were they not killing him?
These questions flew through his head a mile a minute as he sat down dumbfounded, trying to form words.

OoC: Not being from Arcadia, I figured Aerious would act somewhat like this. XD
BiC: Matis grabbed Aerious by an arm, as he dragged him fast into the closest available room.
"Shhh!" he said, sighing. "Yes, we've met Athos, he said", and noticed the concern and anger on Aerious' face. He probably never even heard of Arcadia...that was the only explanation.
"Let me tell you how it all happened. After the Scouring, Athos met with a few dragons who were terribly wounded, and got to know them. They weren't as evil as he had previously thought, and decided that he would create a city in Elibe for them to live in. That's how Arcadia, a city in the middle of the desert of Nabata came to be. Athos used his magic to seal the city with a ferocious sandstorm, and we got teleported there by Athos himself. He has been aiding the dragons, living in peace with them. He never truly died. Apparently, something to do with living amongst dragons." he said, not truly understanding why was Athos still alive. He went on.
"Since he never died, Hargus, who is in control of the other heroes, wasn't able to get a hold of him. In fact, Athos saved us from being killed by Hartmut himself. This might seem crazy, but hey, we are fighting people that died hundreds of years ago, and you yourself are a living proof of eternal beings."

Aerious listened to this story. A village of dragons? He had to be joking, but he seemed so serious...
"When this is done, you will show me how to get to this 'Arcadia'. I refuse to believe in such a place until I set foot there myself. I'm not sure if I trust what you said, but I will judge Athos myself, and see what must be done once this Hargus pays for his audacity."

I was right, then. He has never been to Arcadia.
"Sure, I will." he replied with a smile. "Now, let's get back to Matthias and his ruckus. Wonder what's going on now..."
Matis sighed. Matthias had been one of the first ones to join the group, and he was quite used to him causing problems by now, even when he had been one of the best fighters he had met.

Matthias had paused for a moment in his shouting match. It was still a draw, as far as the ranger was concerned. He heard shouting from where they'd slept. Confused, he looked that direction for a moment. "What the hell are they arguing about?" he wondered aloud. "That will be 10 gold, thank you for your time," the innkeeper finished, slapping a bill on the table and walking off. Matthias glared at his retreating back. "I'll just con Matis into paying," he whispered.

Aerious walked down the stairs, still looking like he had seen a ghost, but he was working on regaining his composure.
"Is the regent of Ostia always such a tight wad?" He asked, a smile forming on his lips briefly. "Anyway, I guess we did what we set out to do here, where are we headed to next? There is still a lot of work to do..."

"He'd probably refuse to pay for a Vulnerary, even if he were dying." Matis said, sighing, as he went downstairs alongside Aerious.
"We don't have a destination proper, but I guess Santaruz would be our best choice, seeing as our friend here probably has done nothing for Ostia since Roland's attack. It probably is still in ruins." Matis sighed again.
"Still, it's not my choice alone."

Matthias grinned. "I've been known to steal from Ostia's armory," he admitted. He walked over to his two companions, ignoring the fuming innkeeper. "I need ta head back to Ostia an' finish gettin' things together there. But you two should head on down ta Santaruz, that's where everyone's gatherin' ta fight back on Bern. I can go with you till Ostia," he shifted. "I'm just supposed to be watchin' things, I'm not exactly ruler material..."

Not a surprise, really. Good thing that Marcus is in charge during Matthias' absence.
"Fine by me. We'll go with you to Ostia, and from there on to Santaruz. Aerious?" he asked, turning towards the manakete.
Let's hope we can convince him to help us against Bern in our journey to Santaruz...He would make a great addition to the group.

Aerious turned away and thought. It only took a moment. "You know where I am going, I have a few more targets left. Stopping in Santaruz shouldn't be too troublesome though. Let's not forget why we are going all over the planet though..." He said with a glance back.
