Katara made her way to the town church, where she found Matis and Alexia. "Hey guys! Feeling better, huh?" she yelled to them. She noticed that they were helping to repair the roof. She unbuckled her sword belt and rolled up her sleeves. "Need a hand?" she asked, not waiting for them to reply as she climbed up to help.

Ooc: I wonder where Dirk is?
BiC: 'Gah! I'm lost again,' Saru thought as he turned another corner. He had lost sight of Dirk at one point. Even though that guy had supplies, his horse just outpaced the mercenary, and when he tried to catch up and turned the corner...he was gone. "Seriously, though, how do you lose a guy on a horse with a bunch of supplies in the middle of a town," he grumbled to himself. He continued to grumble until he turned another corner and saw a building that looked like a church. He could just make out the figures...Ah! what luck! He had found the rest of the group. And it looked like he had beat Dirk back.
Saru turned to Raen and said, "Ha! My superior directional skills have led us back to the group, and ahead of Dirk to boot! Anyways, it looks like they're doin' some work. Let's see if they need any help." He then turned (again) and continued walking toward the others.

Ooc: Thank god you posted! :s
Bic: "Hah... well we did make it somewhere so I guess you win that one for once.." Squinting ahead, "looks like manual labor for us, why would they work on a church anyhow?" I definately have a few questions for them, he thought, maybe they're getting paid for it or something... who knows? Raen matched Saru in stride and hailed the group.

"I've been here for five minutes." Dirk said to the two men, "I'm not very good with manual labor, so I haven't been helping them."

"Damn," Saru muttered. He had really hoped that his sense of directions - or lack thereof - had actually been useful. To keep his mind from dwelling on this small defeat, he grabbed some of the tools and roofing materials and proceeded to climb the ladder onto the roof. After watching the others for a few seconds to see how it was done, he then began the process of laying and nailing roofing tiles. As he was roofing, he then asked, "So...what's the deal with getting off this island?"

"I thought you three were off to get supplies and find a way to get out. Or perhaps Katara did" Matis said, cursing his memory. "Either way, I don't know. And we are repaying being healed, before you ask" he added, having seen Saru's clueless face.
"So? Any ideas or plans?" he asked loudly, hoping Dirk and Raen below would hear him too.

Katara poppped in. "Oh, ya!" There's a trade ship coming in about two days. One of the dock workers says we could barter a passage back to the mainland from it," she smiled.

Alexia continued working, while listening to the conversation. They were healed, and the prospects for getting off the island looked good.
"We should have something of value," she commented, pausing in her work to nod at Katara. "Or we could always offer to serve as protection against pirates, seeing as we're clearly a band of skilled mercenaries."
She smiled, trying to let the others know this was her attempt at a joke.
She then got more supplies and hefted them up the ladder.

"Something of value? how's about this sandy tome thingy?" Raen raised up the odd book hopfully, since he just wanted to be rid of the damn thing by now.
Thinking to himself, 'yea funny all right, but Pirates don't fight fair' he shook his head ' everyone's healed so I guess it doesn't matter anyway.'
Getting back to the task at hand Raen looked up and said, "Roof looks good so far, you know if my shoulder still wasn't so sore from that axe, then I'd love to help of course, but oh well." he sighed chuckling inside at his own cleverness.

"I've actually seen a book like that before. Zeiss used those. It contains darkness spells and enchantments" he said, remembering his time with the shaman and thief.
"It is probably worth a few coins. If we are lucky, we could give that to them and offer protection as well. That could cover the trip. It IS a short trip, after all"
He sighed at Raen's comment about not being able to work, but shook the thought off as he was the one to actually provide the money for the trip back. They had been working for some hours now, anyway, and the roof was practically fixed by then.

Alexia narrowed her eyes at Raen, not buying the excuse for a moment.
"Why don't you just go inside, tell the priest you're with us, and get that shoulder fixed?" she offered, dusting off her hands, "that way you can help the rest of us!"
She smiled at him. She really did want him to be whole and hearty, though she still thought his excuse stunk.
"The tome might work for barter," she admitted, "especially if we offer ourselves up as mercs as well."

Heaving a great sigh Raen shambled into chruch, 'Darnit!' he mused, 'so much for that plan. Where is the old man anyhow?' Looking around Raen caught sight of an old man wearing brown robes, "Erm, hello there. I'm Raen, and I'm with that group outside, and I was wondering if you could fix my shoulder" The old man stood and smiled "Of course I'd be glad to help fix the roof after..."
Walking back outside into the sun, Raen asked hopefully, "You're not done already are you?"

Dirk called up to Matis, "I have all of the supplies we need for a trip to Santaruz, it isn't long from there to Bern."

"Actually, we could use another pair of hands up here" Matis said to Raen. The roof was roughly 3/4 done, but the sooner they were done with it, the better.
"Awesome to hear, Dirk!" he shouted from the roof, hearing Dirk's remark on the supplies. However, was it wise to go to Bern just like that? No. They had to find Kenshin's group first. If they were to ever take down both Hartmut and Hargus, they needed all the strength and manpower they could get.

Alexia continued fetching, thankful to have all the big strong men around to do the "hard" work.
"We should definitely try to find Matthias, Alan, and Kenshin before we do anything," she called, remembering her stronger allies. "If we're going to fight Bern, we need our strongest."
She didn't want to mention that most of the people currently there didn't fit into that description. She had reservations about Katara going... let alone the others...
