Saru had woken up as quickly as anyone drunk off their rocker could when a cat had jumped on him. "...Hmm...whazzat?" he mumbled, trying to recall where he was and what happened. 'Gah, I drank too much...and thinking hurts too much right now.' With that thought, he slowly got up and shambled in the direction he thought the church was.
After stumbling around half the town, he finally made it to the church. '...Oh goodie...now sleepy time.' He managed to make it through the door of the church before collapsing in a heap just inside the door. The mercenary then began to snore, indicating that he had fallen asleep once again.

Matis was startled by Alexia's voice, as he quickly moved his right hand to one of his lances. "Oh..." he said, lowering his guard. "Yeah, I think. I'm kind of broke now, though. But it's not a big deal" he said.
Shortly after that, a still rather drunk Saru entered the church, collapsing on the entrance. Snores followed as Matis chuckled. "At least everyone is happy and safe for the moment".

Alexia nodded.
"Yes, it's nice not having to run for our lives or fight something," she agreed. She sunk down, resting her chin on folded hands. "And don't worry too much about being broke, I still have a fair amount of money, so we should be alright."
Her eyes went to the drunken Saru, and she smiled as he wobbled to his seat. She shifted again.
"Well, I suppose I should let you get some sleep then."

"I guess" Matis replied. "Good night" he last said before closing his eyes, head on top of his bag, using it as a pillow.
The stone floor was cold and kind of uncomfortable, but he had slept many times in places worse than the church. It started raining. The calm night passed by as an endless stream of droplets fell from the skies on the town. Only one day left before the ship arrived, and then they would have to wait for it to depart back to the mainland.

Dirk watched the sea as sunrise came to the Western Isles last of all the world. It has been said that those who go further West never return, there was speculation that they fell off the edge of the world. the mixture of red sky and purple sea was beautiful. The stench of bearded seafarers (or 'Rummers') was overwhelming. "One more day in this town, then we head to Etruria, hopefully we won't meet any trouble there." he said to no one in particular.
(OoC: Dirk didn't knock on wood.)

Saru rolled over and his sheathed sword jabbed his side, waking him and causing him to curse. Blearily, he looked around, noticing the others positions. The mercenary wondered if he was the first up. With a yawn, he stood and stretched, before walking over to where Matis was. Deciding that he was probably awake after the racket he had, caused, Saru began talking. "Yawn...so, we get outta here tomorrow, right? So...yawn...can we start trainin' now?"

Leaning back against the chimney stack and watching the last remnants of a beautiful sunrise from the chapel roof, Raen thought he heard some clattering going on in the chapel: 'Well they're finally up, though I suppose rum affects them a bit more with no experience... Hmm one more day it is? I'm in no rush then..' Raen continued to lean back and stare, giving the rest of the group more time to rise - meanwhile, a conspicuous half-empty bottle of rum rested closeby.

Matis opened one of his eyes slowly and looked at Saru's sleepy face. He remained silent for a moment, waiting for Saru to stop yawning. "Sure, if that's what you want...go wash your face and eat something first, though. You don't want to get an arm cut just because you are still half asleep"
He grinned, standing up and grabbing his bag, lances and javelins. "I'll wake up Alexia and tell her, Dirk and Raen. Go find some good place to train at, not far from here, but far enough so no one gets hurt" he said, as he moved towards Alexia, nudging her on the shoulder and waiting for her to wake up and tell her the plan.

Saru just nodded as he turned and stumbled his way out of the church. Rounding a corner, he saw a water barrel, walked up to it, and dunked his head in it. The mercenary then whipped his head back out quickly, letting loose, "Yowch! That's cold!" He then shook his head, flinging the excess water off of it, before making his way back inside to his bag. 'If we're gonna train, I don't want ta eat anythin' to heavy,' he thought as he pulled out some jerky.
After devouring his snack, Saru walked out behind the church a bit, searching for a place to train with Matis. Looking around, he spotted an area near a cliff overlooking the ocean that looked good. He then headed back to the church and called out to Matis. "When your ready, just start heading toward the ocean from the back. I'm just gonna do some warm-ups." Saru then jogged back to the area he had found and began stretching. 'After the stretching, I'll move on to stance practice,' he thought.

Dirk sat next to a tree and sat down. He wasn't in the mood for practicing, so he took out his flute and began to play a beautiful melody.

'Well that does beat all' Raen laughed out loud from the rooftop ' a bottle of a rum, some music, and a show to boot. Could this be any better? ' he quickly scanned the skies for some birds carrying manna.. or loaves of bread 'Better not push my luck. I'd rather not practice now anyway.'
This day was definately shaping up to be a good one. Now lets just see if we can't get a decent barter out of that captain.

Alexia had been dreaming fitful dreams, and hadn't really been sleeping well at all. Too much weighed one her mind for her to really sleep soundly anymore. So she'd overheard most of the conversation, and had been ready for Matis when he moved over to wake her.
When Matis poked, Alexia woke, looking at him, smiling slightly.
"You need me to help with your spear training? Or is this another Sacean bonding time thing?"

Matis couldn't help but laugh. "Actually, Saru asked me to help him train. Thought you might want to join us, even if only to watch or have some fresh air" he said.
"And while I think I've improved a lot with spears lately, I'd gladly take up your offer. First things first, though, I'll help Saru with his swordsmanship" he added, before moving towards the door of the church. "According to him there's a nice spot for training nearby, just a ways behind the church"

Katara woke up refreshed. The idea of getting back to the mainland and being reunited with Kenshin had mad her night pass swift and smooth. She got ready and headed outside. "Lord Matis, the ship is scheduled to come in to the harbor today," she told Matis. "Have you slept well? I feel like we'll be in for a rough ride in these next few weeks," she added.

OoC: I thought the ship was due two days after we first stumbled upon the village...? Welcome back, by the way. Post will be "unfinished" until Katara replies back, either by PM or editing, depending on what she wants to happen next. She "decided" for a ship to go to the islands, after all.
BiC: "Drop the 'Lord' thing, please. If I am to win your respect, have it only be through my skills and nothing else" Matis said trying to sound as polite as possible, hoping not to offend Katara.
