Story***:When Leera was a twelve-year-old girl she awakened to a fire that has engulfed her house. She runs through the flames trying to escape as the fire scorches her naturally white hair. She searches desperately for her mother who she held very closely since her father had died in a bandit invasion before she was born. “Mother” Leera cried desperately. She searched and searched until she found her on the ground unconscious from lack of air. She rushed out franticly dragging her mother. The heat was unbearable and her hands were sweaty. All of the sudden as she got to the doorway her hand slipped from her mother’s hands. She ran out the door for some air. She would have stayed in longer but she would choke breathing in the toxic smoke. She tried to get back in for her mother but the flames had completely swallowed the small house and she would burn to death. It was to late, the house fell to the ground.
Leera ran to the nearest temple where the shamans and druids would take care of her and help her recover from the scorching fire. She arrived at the temple and opened the door. An old man looked at her smiling “would you like our aid young one it looks like you’ve been trough allot.” “Yes” Leera said, “My house has just burnt to the ground along with my mother and I have been greatly wounded” “Great.” The old shaman said “ will show you where you will be staying.”
Like he said he took her to a room with only a small mat and a shelf of old books. So she read having nothing else to do. After a week or so the shaman stopped seeing Leera around the temple and got worried. He opened the door to Leera’s room where he saw her sitting in a corner reading. “Is that all you’ve been doing,” he asked, “The only place I’ve seen you is the dinning hall.” "Well there’s not much else to do around hear” she replied. "Would you consider becoming a shaman,” He asked. "I'll think about it" "Well it's time to eat so you can think there." "Ok I will" Leera said and at that, they left to eat.
At the dining hall she was thinking allot about what the old shaman said. “Hey.” She poked the shaman. “I’d like to become a shaman” She said. “Oh” The shaman said surprised. “We will began your training tomorrow,” He said beaming at Leera. The next morning she woke up and walked to courtyard and saw the old shaman. “You’re late” He said frowning. “Sorry I’m not used to waking up this early.” “Well get used to it or you will never master the art of dark magic. It will eat you alive” He said grimly."Ok." they begun the training and it was harder than Leera would ever imagine, it took so much energy she could hardly bare it.
As the days went on she got better and better. After a year had gone by she started forgetting her parents but one day the shaman mentioned her father. "How did your father die" He asked. it was completely random. as the words left his lips Leera felt like a arrow had just pierced her. "Bandit killed him while he was researching the ruins of Sacae witch to the east of hear."she replied."All I have to remember him by is his old journal." she said taking an old book out of her pocket. The shaman said nothing else and walked away. For the rest of the day Leera didn't eat or leave her room, she just read, read through the journal and about her father. she didn't show up for her training the next few days and the shaman wouldn't come and knock on the door like he usually did when she wasn't there. She came out to eat once or twice a day to eat but thats it. She did that for about six months until the shaman came in and said" What have you been doing all this time" "thinking" she replied still looking at the book. "You need to get out of this room." he said . "I need to know what I'm going to do after this." "Whats in that book" he asked."This was sent to me by the remaining villagers of the town my dad was killed in.it's about what he researched and I want to learn evry thing I can about him."She replied. "You may leave when you like but I have one request. You must learn dark magic or the monsters of the woods will destroy you." he said. "What makes you think I want to leave. I like it hear." you will have to leave sooner or later."He said leaving the room.
Leera stayed in her room more for years she only ate and drank until one day on her 20th birthday she came outside and saw the old shaman." so you finally came" he said smileing. "yeah" she said back "I'd like to start training again." The old man looked at her and just nodded. "shall we begin?" "yes"she replied. after that day she didn't go into her room except to sleep, now all she did was train her skills with dark magic.
One morning Leera sees her withered old elder asleep in the grass. As she went over to wake him up he awakened and waited for Leera to state what she needed. Leera told the elder that she would like to begin her training for today. the sahman replied with a smile "i don't think you need any more training" and then said that she could train her skill on her own now. Leera didn't want to leave, she wanted to learn more but taking the elders advice she left and set of for Sacae where her father left off on his research.
