Achaziah, having lived in a church most of his life and been a traveler the rest, got up much earlier than most. He was awake before sunrise, sitting in the bar area of the inn silently sipping on an ale. He was waiting for Hal and Sarah to come down so they could go and meet up with Kessel as he had requested. I wonder what Kessel's plans for the day are. It seems fitting that he'd have us up early, but I'm used to it. I don't know about the other two.

"Knockitoff, Dab..." Sarah muttered, rolling over. Her eyes cracked open, and to her surprise, her brother wasn't the one shaking her. In a moment of blind panic, her foot shot out, hitting her assailant in the chest. Not moments after her attack, she realized what was going on. "Hal! Oh, I'm so sorry." she gasped. Sarah jumped off the bed and walked to Hal's side. "I forgot...Are you okay?" she asked, apologetic.

Hal backed up as the foot caught him in the chest. He coughed a few times and caught his breath. "Don't worry about it, I'm fine. Just got winded, really I'm fine." Hal rubbed his chest where she had kicked him. "You know you kick like a mule." Hal gave her a half laugh not sure how she would react.
"If you want to come along with me to the recruitment office so they can officially tell me Kessel is my trainer you can. I'd love the company."

Kessel sighed as he walked toward the stables. His little 'talk' with his commanding officer had drained him. It had taken every bit of skill and luck he had in bargaining to get the officer to see things his way. Now, he just wanted to relax. So he was going to check up on Rhiannon.
As he entered the stables, Rhiannon must have noticed him, for her head perked up and she began crooning at him. The wyvern rider chuckled. "Yes, yes, I'm coming." He walked over to his wyvern, who immediately thrust her head forward to be petted. "Feeling demanding today, are we?" he said as he patted her head. She responded with a nudge that almost knocked him over and grunt. "Alright, alright! I'm sorry." Kessel looked up at the sun. "I wonder how much longer till they show up?" he mused.

Achaziah continued to wait on the two younger warriors. He decided that he would look through his tome for now in hopes of passing the time until they finally came down. He pulled it from his shoulder bag underneath his cloak and began flipping through the pages while sipping his ale. It was probably quite the perplexing sight for many of the patrons to see a man with a light tome, a mark of a man of the cloth, sipping on an ale. Achaziah paid it no mind, though. He was no ordinary monk. Achaziah wasn't a master of the light, yet, but he could understand some of the ancient characters and translate them into the common tongue. The symbols weren't like the letters used for scribing today. They were like a combination of the thing itself using lines to define it as well as the sound that the symbol was meant to make. Achaziah hoped that more meditation during his travels would reveal the meanings to him.

Sarah smiled and forced out a laugh. "I've heard that." she said. Sarah still felt guilty for kicking Hal, but as long as he wasn't mad, it'd be fine. "Sure, I'll go with you. I think it'll give a good impression of teamwork if we arrive together, anyway." she said. Sarah gathered up her discarded armor and piled it on. Just as she was about to put her helmet on, Sarah noticed something wasn't right. Her stomach soured when she realized what was wrong. "Um...you don't have a vanity table?" Sarah asked, looking at Hal with dread in her eyes. "I can't go out looking like this! People will...point. And laugh!" she whined.

OoC:Sorry long day at work yesturday(11-8 shift) then came home and got drunk. After work something happened and I wasn't in the mood to do anything really.
BiC: Hal looked at Sarah funny. "I don't know if there's one in here or not. You look fine as you are now. If anybody points and laughs I'll make them regret it, so don't worry." Hal was glad he rarely cared about how he looks, but he was trying to get Sarah ready to go now so there was little chance of them being late. Hal didn't care for being late.

Sarah sighed. Well, she DID want to be more soldier-like, and if that meant going with makeup time...fine. "Okay. Let's go, then." she said. Sarah grabbed her helmet and tucked it under her arm. She had all of her armor on, she was sure. "You do know the way to the recruitment office, right?" she demanded.

"Nope, lead the way my kind lady? I got in town just yesterday so I don't know it so well." He walked to the door and opened and turned to Sarah, waiting for her to exit the room.

Achaziah, still waiting on Hal and Sarah, finally reached a page where many of the symbols were a mystery to him. He could only understand two of the archaic runes. The first he understood to mean 'final' or 'end.' The second was a bit more vague. 'Flash,' 'flare,' or 'burst' were the main things that came to mind when he looked back on the less intricate symbols in the book to compare them. I remember the monks and bishops in the church saying that although a tome had its primary uses, the magic itself could be manifested and shaped through the will of the caster, thus changing the application entirely. I think that this page might be full of some of those ideas written in the ancient symbols. Hmm....i

"Of course." Sarah said confidently. One of the few things she trusted herself in was her knowledge of the city- during her trip, she had poured over the map her brothers had been given, and by the time she'd arrived, had figured out where everything of note was. "Just follow me, Hal, and we'll be there in no time!"
Sarah strolled merrily, her eyes alert for the 'signs' that she knew to look out for. Slightly crooked window meant that she should take a left in...now! "So, Hal." Sarah said, trying to keep a merry tone. "I bet you broke a poor girl's heart when you came here." Sarah smirked to herself. She turned around, and while walking backwards(something she'd learned during her younger years, and which was necessary with two older brothers), began her coy interrogation. "You DID have a sweetheart, right? Every boy your age must." Sarah looked behind her and saw the recruitment office. "Well. We're here." she said cheerfully.

As Sarah said he must of broke a poor girl's heart(OoC lol was typing and forgot 'irl's h' it was geart) and asked if he had a sweetheart he cringed. "Well, to be honest I haven't put much thought into finding a 'sweetheart'. Ever since I was old enough to work I helped my parents out as much as I could. I left town..." Hal paused a moment, he didn't want to tell her the real reason he didn't want her to think bad of him. "I left because it was dull there. I spent awhile with a circus going from town to town helping set it up, and tear it down." Hal stopped walking for a second.
"So, is there a reason why you asking if I had a 'sweetheart'?" Hal winked at her as he said that and kept on walking towards the building. "If you want to answer that do so before we enter" He said as he reached for the door knob long enough for a quick response.

"If we're going to train together, I must know everything I can about you. So there." Sarah replied. What Hal had said shook her a little bit. She felt somewhat bad for teasing him now. "Well, I guess it doesn't matter." Sarah stood back and waited for Hal to open the door. "A gentleman would hold the door open for a lady." she added.

Kessel was bored. Here he was, waiting on two squires and another guy, with no one for company. As if she could sense his thoughts, Rhiannon lightly nudged him. "Well," he amended, "no human for company."
Deciding that enough was enough, the wyvern rider got up. "If those three don't want to show up on time, I'll have to go get them," he thought with a sigh. With that, he started walking his way through the barracks to the recruitment office at the front, grumbling under his breath about kids who take so long to get ready.

It was not until the two were already halfway out the door of the inn that Achaziah noticed they were leaving. He immediately slammed his book closed and shoved it in his shoulder bag and scrambled to the door to follow them. He nearly lost them along the way multiple times. It wasn't that they were moving quickly, but that he was hanging back.
He casually walked up to them when they stopped at the door to the recruitment office. He was breathing heavily and he stopped, huffing as he said, "Morning, you two." He placed his hands on his knees as he bent over slightly, still looking up at them.
