Theian suddenly feels the sword become free, and starts stabbing the living dead stuffing out of a nearby monster. He hears Morgoth shouting, and decides that he was the one that had saved him, and that he would have to save him.
"Morgoth, are you alright?" Morgoth chants the dark spell, but in a voice that Theian thought was from someone else. "... Oh boy!" The monster that was on Morgoth was still alive, and two more were coming. "DON'T DIE, MAN! WE'VE GOT MORE COMING RIGHT AS US!!!" He grips his blade, and chops the zombie's head in half, right down the center. He then runs over to another one, stabbing that one as well.

Aleth flinched at least, when the creature leap at her, aiming to tear her to shreds. She only took a casual step back, before punching the thing in the face. In time she learned how to really punch enemies seeing as there was only one useful hand. This knocked back the humanoid thing onto the ground. Yet it did not seem to phase it at all, simply finding itself back up without any sort of effect.
However this mercenary didn't have time to think about it as she took out her blade, ready to do whatever it was to survive.
"After this, I'm going to need an explanation Mr.Clergyman."

Jya swore she heard a few screams from outside, yet her fears had glued her to the seat. Than there was more shouts and cries, until finally she couldn't take it anymore. The curiosity that got her into the line of thievery had always clashed with her lifespan, especially now. She grabbed her blade, before rushing outside, ready to draw if anything was going to come after her.
After a moment or two, her eyes noticed a figure, not too far away coming out from the alley. It appeared like it was dead, yet the thing kept on moving. Closer, ever so closer it came that she drew her weapon, while trying to ask what it wanted. Before long when it had reached the striking the man attacked. She struggled with it for a minute, but only managed to push and slits his throat. Yet that didn't seem to matter as blood came out easily and it didn't look phased at all.
"Umm, wow..." she said before backing away ever so slowly.

Lyar sat around for a moment when his one handed friend ran off, but then gave a shrug and ran off as well, in the direction of shouts and screams. They must be playing a fun game! However, when he arrived, it didn't look so fun. A lot of dead people, some of them he knew, however death did not phase the privateer so much: in his profession death was just a part of the game. He then noticed a little girl fighting some sort of ugly thing, he wasn't sure what. The girl had sliced the things throat, and yet it didn't die. Now a kid himself (he's not really a kid, but he acts like one so hah.), Lyar felt obligated to help out as kids should stick together against the dreaded Closet Monsters, and thus rushed at the thing like the bull man he was, decapitating the zombie with his axe in a rather sloppy manner. When it's headless body hit the ground, the pirate then looked up to Jya with the most innocent smile ever seen on the battlefield, and spoke:
"Hi there!"

A band of men followed High Officer Abend.
"High Officer Abend!" One of them yelled. They three men were clothed as civilians, but one could see that they were army-men. They also carried swords underneath their mantles. "Rally your men, sir!" The three obviously were ordered to follow him around. While running behind him, one tripped over a dead body, that suddenly didn't seemed so dead anymore. It bit his leg and before the men could react another dead body crawled towards his head, biting his throat. The unlucky man tried to scream, but only a gurgling sound could be heard and the grunting of the monsters.
"By the Saint..." One of them exclaimed before running off towards the villa. The other men became silent and his pale face said more than a thousand words. He kept following Richter, twisting his neck in all directions; fearing he will be attacked as well.

Valorian stepped up next to Aleth, holding his staff out as if to ward it off.
"How would I know?" He shot back at her request for an explanation."I'll back you up as well as I can, but I don't know how much whapping them with a staff will do!"
Well...he could fight...but...no...no he'd promised he'd never do that...not again.
"There is an outpost further north from here, we should try to get there...but there might be other people stranded in the city...damn it." Instead he focused on the thing in front of him.
"Get ready, here is comes!"

Post by Richter Abend on Dec 11, 2009 14:58:32 GMT -6
Panting, Richter arrived at the main military campsite, the girl on his back, and the last of the Herald's men in toe. Everything was being thrown into a chaotic uproar by these undead bodies. He noticed Theian, Morgoth, and Valorian all fighting. He couldn't spot Clair or Kynlis, but he hoped they weren't too far. Richter put the girl down by his side and turned to the Herald's agent. "Tell this to the Herald: Tell him of the current situation if he doesn't already know it, and tell him I'm going to rally the forces and we're going to make a stand at the villa. It's more easily defended than the streets, and unlike the castle, there aren't any bodies in it. Go! Hurry!" Not waiting for the soldier's response, Richter turned to the frightened and unorganized soldiers, holding up his sword. "MEN! Gather your arms! We're making a stand at the Herald's villa to give him and the civilians time to escape the city!" Hearing a growl next to him, Richter swiveled around and in one fluid motion, severed the undead's head from it's shoulders. He turned back to his men and grabbed one nearby officer. "You, you're now in charge of the force responsible for getting the surviving civilians out. That's an order!" The soldier nodded and hurried off. Richter turned back to the main force. "One group of soldiers are going with him to save the civilians," he ordered, sweeping his hand left hand to show which group was witch. "The larger group remains with me to stave off the attack. Then we start moving towards the villa! Form a circle: Archers and mages in the center with the more heavily armored around the outside of the group. Form up! Go!" Richter looked around. The undead were closing in. The officer from earlier and his soldiers had begun gathering up the civilians and rushing them out towards the back gate of the city near the villa. There was surprisingly little resistance toward Richter's spur of the moment promotion. The rest of the soldiers had begun to form up around Richter. Living or dead, there was no way these bodies could penetrate this force.
As the living dead smashed upon the army's formation, Richter looked down at the little girl clutching his leg for dear life. "Tell me, what's your name?" he asked her in an attempt at a soothing voice. She looked up at him. "Ma-Ma-Mary," she stuttered. Richter nodded. "That's a good name," he replied. That was his sister's name.

Madness. That was all that could describe what was happening in Ostia. The dead rising? Why? What force could cause such an abomination?
Were Kynlis' mind not grinding to a halt in shock, she'd probably wonder this and more. Right now though, she was a little preoccupied. "Wha? Zombies...?"
Hearing a groan coming from behind snapped the hunter out of her shock. She saw several of the creatures shuffling their way toward her and Clair. She quickly pulled out an arrow, nocked it, and let fly. The shaft took the shambling creature right in the chest, stopping its forward movement. Then, to her shock, it gave a groan and kept coming.
"What the hell?!" she exclaimed. Shaken, she nocked another arrow. This time, she took her time, precious little that there was, and aimed for the thing's head. This time, the arrow took it down, and it stayed down, unmoving.
Seeing the other two monsters getting closer she chanced a glance at Clair. "We need to get back to the others!" she said over the din of fighting that once again was plaguing the city.

Jya sure her jaw dropped when a giant chopped off the zombie's head. Perhaps she hadn't really seen much of the world at all! Before she could properly react, her eyes caught sight of more bodies moving through the streets. They needed to get out of here, but she thought that Hiro could probably hold out his own.
"Hey umm, lets get outta here and away from this place!!" she said before running for the nearest alleyway.

"I don't know! Aren't clergyman supposed to be all magical or something!?!" she said in a desperate and excited tone. One thing that changed over the years is the increasing dislike towards dead bodies. This guy definitely seemed dead to her, yet the movements made her even more worried.
When the thing charged, she tried to slice at it, but unfortunately it didn't work out so well. Her grip wasn't tight enough and the force was only good for having her sword go through a certain amount into the skull. Great now the blade was stuck... Being resourceful, she quickly let go, and punched the thing enough to make it fall over. In a moment she had her blade back, but the creature was still alive.
"Well, I guess its best to have a clean decapitation?"

"Okie Dokie!" Lyar chirped, before lumbering after his new little friend, having figured they were playing follow the leader now. This kid was fun to play with! "My name's Lyar by the way! Lyar of Ostia! What's your name?" He spoke quickly, but not out of urgency of the situation: more like kid after having consumed a bag of sugar quick. That's just how he was: Lumbering lovable Lyar.

"My name is uhh, Jya of nowhere in particular," Jya replied her voice somewhat concerned. This guy probably has a brain eating bug problem.
"Lyar, are you alright, nobody implanted any brain eating bugs in there, have they?" she asked, quite concerned. She didn't need an injured person with her.

"Nope! I fell a few times on my head once when I was a kid. And I did eat some bugs once (yesterday, but I'm not telling her that!), but not the brain eating kind..." he paused, the a smiled curved on his lips,"They are too fatty anyways!" a joke here to try and lighten up Jya's depressing mood: kids should be happy and having fun, not worrying about brain eating bugs...
...speaking of bugs: Where'd his Be Littled Brother go?

Theian had dragged Morgoth into the ruins of a house and treated to his wounds. "Morgoth, there are tons out here. Once you're ready to fight, come out. I doubt one can hide in here forever." Theian grabs his sword and goes outside. He was right, tons of monsters out here. He spots Kynlis and Clair, Jya and... someone... Richter and some other dudes, Theian's superiors, no doubt... along with Valorian and someone else. Who to fight, who to fight? Well, gotta get paid for something! Maybe I should find out who these people are... I'll start with that big axeman over there.
"YO! JYAAAA!" He runs, catching the attention of a couple of monsters. They stumble towards him, but it'll take a while before they reach him. "What are these things? I'll tell you, they're target practice! Grab your weapon and stab them where it hurts most!" It seems as if one monster had gotten too close to the swordsmen, as he takes his blade, slices of both arms, and begins kicking it in the shins. "By the way, who is the axe-wielding guy? New recruit?"

"No! He is umm... a friend, we were playing a game!" Jya lied, not wanting this guy to do anything with the army. Yet she did notice that Theian had attracted quite a number of annoying creatures with him.
"His names Lyar, but I don't think killing those thing are easy with my sort of skill," she responded, looking over Theian's soldier. Great more trouble, yet now her body felt lighter than ever.
Taking out her blade, she rushed forward, trying to slice off the head, but only managing a little over half way.
"Yeah, retreat!!" she screamed, running back to Lyar and hiding behind the giant man.
