Rayl's smile did not fade from his face as she spoke," Well, if you so wish you can help tend to the house and animals...and I doubt anyone will find out if you've kept your secret well enough. Besides, even if they did I am a well respected member of our community, the people would understand as they know of my own past with dragons." he paused here before standing up and moving towards the window," It's still a bit dusty in here, no? My apologies but I rarely have anyone staying over...I'll just open the window up here and-" Once he had done so, the wyvern poked it's head through sniffing the air, and the poor knight found himself falling backwards in surprise," Woah there boy, try not to do that!" while Rayl used the wall as support to help himself back up (being in armor has it's flaws), the wyvern continued to eye Saffra and her wings (which Rayl would have also admitted to have been staring it at), before it snorted an approval and withdrew and departed back to it's rooftop domain.
"...still have some training to do for that one...never raised a Wyvern before, so it's a change..." A pause here," A big change, but then again that's whay life is all about isn't it? To experience changes in one's life, and enjoy each and every moment, good or bad." that's what Barigan would have said, right? No one had the right to take an innocent's life, or anyone for that matter, even if they were 'cruel and evil' in the eyes of the beholder...

Saffra chuckled a little as she didn't bother to add much about the dust in the house, knowing it was their by the smell of the place, but she didn't want to say too much about it. As Rayl opened the window, she saw the wyvern. She let her eyes stay on it, and began to stand up, putting her hands infront of her, linking and crossing fingers together, as she bowed a bit to it. Even though Dragons and Wyvern weren't directly the same, that she regarded the resemblances between Dragons and Wyverns, she couldn't help greet them like distant cousins.
"That's quite alright...he seems quite friendly, like those in Bern, so I hear. Just...treat him with the same kind of respect you do with Elibe, he's intelligent as is your mount, to which I am greatly impressed with, Elibe, that is."
Smirking, she stretched out her arms and stretched them above her head, fingers curing in upon themselves as they balled into fists, and returned back to her side. "I must agree, though, I would much prefer a life of good than bad, if I had a choice in any of it."

OoC: Woo! Ignored for being inactive. Rightfully so, though. A whole page went by without me posting. >_>
IC: Rayl and Saffra had gone inside the house. Rayl would probably clean up the remaining rooms, given that both Saffra and Karina were staying for the night as well. He never got a chance to introduce himself, but hey, the less people know about him, the better. Becoming known would only make it easier for people from Delfia to track him down, as his father probably was doing.
Chelsea and Karina were probably off for a ride on horse by now, and he was left alone in the stable once more. Gabriel dusted himself off and shook his head(he hadn't done so after finishing the clean up) and stood there silently, going around the stable, looking at all the animals there. Cows, horses, rabbits, a pegasus(which he could only guess was Karina's) and a wyvern(which had just come from over the house). All the while, Rayl's dog had been following him. Maybe the dog liked dust? "Wonder where Rayl's training grounds are. I'm sure he mentioned something about it earlier..." he thought out loud. The dog barked and ran off, as Gabriel followed. Smart dog, that one. Not a minute later, Gabriel was standing a few metres from some training dummies.
"Hope they are resistant to fire" he said, as sparks came off from his fingers, leaving a trail of flame as he moved his hand from left to right, then around and over his head, pointing now at the dummy, which was made out of sand bags. A fireball flew, hitting the target directly. He'd have cheered, but...the target wasn't moving, really.
This went on for a few hours, until dusk came by.

" Yes I too would wish that, but we speak of things that we lack control of, no matter how strong we are of body or heart...however, bad experiences I have found over the year help to make the good moments of life even better."
Rayl chuckled slightly here. He was speaking philosophy with a dragon who, while looking to be around the age of an eighteen year old, was most likely roughly around Eighteen hundred years of age, as his knowledge of dragon folk went. Saffra probably had seen much more than he had or ever would. All this time that they were speaking though, Rayl couldn't keep his eyes off her wings...something about them had him extremely curious, but that was an obvious thing to happen.
"You know Madame Saffra, you are the fourth dragon I've met in my lifetime. The first was a vile creature who had sent a mighty city in bern crashing upon it's very foundations with fire and claw. The second was a dragon named Aeros, who I fought alongside with as friends and allies. The third was a dragon under control of the Bandit King Hargus...I'm sure you heard of that incident, yes? And the fourth..." he put a hand on her arm, kind of tempted to touch her wing though he would hardly do such a thing," Well, the fourth was you. Well Madame Saffra, I'm sure you must be tired, I pray that you sleep well." lifting his hand from her arm, he made his way to the door: he'd have to get the animals back to the barn...chances are he'd fall asleep in there as well...

Saffra kind of had a feeling, she knew that he wanted to touch her wings, but she didn't find it offensive at all, they were beautiful, well, atleast in her own eyes. She couldn't fault Rayl for wanting to feel, he's probably never even touched a dragon before, except for maybe that enslaved one, or the one he fought beside...she didn't let these things get in the way though, as she settled upon the memory of Hargus. With slight emotion, when he brought that name up, she gave a frown, and nodded, knowing a pretty good amount of the story, from what she heard. It was...dispicable...to control a dragon, in her eyes...but it showed that her kind could be rendered under control like that...a scary thought.
As he prepared to exit her room, she stood up, and gave a slight bow, knowing it to be a formality, she couldn't help herself, as this was the way she had been grown used to do things. Lifting her head, she gave a small smile, and nodded once more.
"Thank you, Rayl, I'm sure I will, and may your dreams be pleasant as well."
Once Rayl exited, she didn't go to bed just yet, instead, however, she pulled out her book, and lit some candles around her room, two of which was her own, scented like mulberry, and positioned for maximum light, as well as the scent to spread. She hoped, however, that no one would become displeased with the smell...this just gave her a sense of being at home.
Arranging her clothes for the next day onto the dresser, she finally took the time off, to sit down on the chair, and read the last few remaining ages of her book, contently sighing, and relaxing as best she could.

Making his way outside the house, he was being waited for by Fang (the wyvern), Elibe, and one of his other horses, and the small group made it's way back to the barn, where Rayl put Elibe and other horse in their stalls, and the wyvern soon departed to it's nest atop the barn. Rayl then exited the barn, looking out over the pasture. He put two fingers to his lips, and gave a sharp whistle, before sitting back on his barrel.
In moments, the animals (save for Spirit, out riding about with Chelsea still) began making their way to the barn and their opened stalls...such was the advantage of having a bond with one's animals: it made things a lot easier. Dakota soon came barking to his side, leaving Gabriel to train, and the two oversaw the looking in of the animals for the night, before Rayl began the tedious process of removing his armor, something he didn't do too often, but in this case he'd have to: seeing as how this was his first time in this new armor. After finally setting the armor down in a nice orderly fashion, he came to rest on a haystack. He was wearing a short sleeved shirt, fairly dirty/sweaty from extended periods of armor wearing (yet he rarely seemed to smell foul, even with his spare time activities of animal caretaking...), his strong arms adorned with scars from past engagements on the battlefield. He worn simple brown pants, slightly torn from his work. It was an odd sight to see him outside his well decorated armor, but it seemed to give him more of a gentle appearance as well.
With a yawn, he found himself comfortable as always, never actually going into his own room save to get things, and soon found himself drifting off to sleep, dog laying beside him.

Chelsea led Spirit back into the stable. She had really enjoyed her ride and could get used to that. As she led Spirit into her pen, she gave her a pat on the nose softly, causing the horse to neigh happily. Rayl was right, they did already have a connection and she was happy about that. Once she was safely away, Chelsea headed back into the house and found her way to the room which Rayl had said she and Karina would be sharing. She poked her head in and noticed her new roommate sleeping soundly. As quietly as she could, she slid into their room, got ready, and hopped into bed. It was so comfortable after all those nights of sleeping on the cold, hard ground. She had barely gotten under the covers and gotten comfy when she was out like a light.

After about an hour, Saffra had closed her book, and placed it down on the bedside table in her room. She had heard the scuffing of boots on the floor as people made their way to their rooms a number of twice, but there was someone still outside..well...two someones. Changing into her nightgown, she let her wings disappear, because sleeping in a bed with them was rather uncomfortable...but she felt naked without them, reaching back and touching her back where her wings had protruded.
Sighing, she slipped herself in between the bedsheets, and laid herself down to rest, eyes looking up at the starry sky. The stars seemed so far away, unlike on he mountainous village she had called home so long ago. She wanted to go back, this world was frightening...and soon, sleep took her, and was enveloped in darkness.

Relentless. The sand bags had black marks all over, one of them even lighting up and turning to ashes from the repeated hits. The dummy shone for a short while, until the fire died out half a minute later. It was time to get some rest. His body demanded it.
He quietly moved into the house, going through all the rooms, trying to find the empty one. They had never actually discussed which room each would get, so Gabriel had no choice but open all doors, one by one. He stumbled into what seemed to be Saffra's room, then Chelsea's and Karina's, then an empty, bigger room(probably Rayl's own). "He's probably getting all the animals in the barn for the night".
The next door happened to be a room much like one of the two he had cleaned earlier that day, with no one inside. He went inside, closed the door and opened the only window in the room. After undressing himself he sat on the bed, thinking for a while on what would his next move be. Pherae's army.... Before he realized, he was laying on his back, looking at the ceiling. It can't be worse than crossing the mountain range, can it?. And with that, he drifted off to sleep.

OoC: Issuing a Timeskip to the morning, since Rayl wanted one of us to do it ourselves.
IC: if a rooster had crowed, she did not hear anything. Light was just barely beginning to creep in over the horizon. Saffra's eyes shot wide open and bolted straight up, clutching at her Dragonstone, feeling it's power run through her body. it was a warm feeling, always refreshing, but she grabbed to the power in shock, forgetting where it was she had woken up.
Golden eyes traveled across the room, taking it all in, and then, she released the power, and took a deep breath, her heart slowly beginning to ease on it's rapid pace. Slowly, she crept out of bed, feet meeting cold ground, and a small chill went up her spine. Humming, she walked out of her room towards where the kitchen area was, still in her nightgown, and wingless. Here, she began to prepare breakfast for everyone. she wasn't necessarily a master at cooking, and made all she could really make, and that was oatmeal in a kettle of hot water, with sugar mixed. it was very simply made, but as the fire stirred under the kettle to keep it warm, she would let everyone rise at their own pace, having made enough for them all.
Still though, she figured most would be still asleep around this time, however, it was prepared, and there was enough bowls and spoons that she found laying around inside of Rayl's kitchen area. it was weird...such an estate with no workers...was this place neglected so much? Saffra sat there, alone at the table, eating the slightly sweet oatmeal, with no real look of pleasure or distaste.

Awoken by Dakota licking his face as if it was saying, "Wake up friend! It's time to go to work!" Rayl slowly awoke and got into a sitting posture, before getting fully up and onto his feet, the knight smiled before unlatching the stalls of the animals, who slowly awoke and exited out and into the pasture for their daily feeding. What made Rayl's ranch so well kept was how tame the animals were...that and the fruitful grass to munch on. he decided not to put his armor on for the time being, seeing as how rarely he wasn't in it, and for a change felt the wind more, and he enjoyed it's breeze as if was welcoming him back, as he entered into main building, having been remodeled and made bigger once he had obtained a larger status in Pherae...yes Rayl had refused to have servants to help him. This was because he was rarely home, and he only had some of his recruits ride over to get the animals in and out of their stalls...
Entering, he smelled the fond aroma of oatmeal, a nice change to his usual scentless rations. Noticing who the cook was, he gave Saffra a smile as he took a bowl of the breakfast and sat down opposite of her, watching her eyes look about the area in confusion, and thus decided to answer her question," I'm no noble. Never had anyone wait on me hand and foot and I'd prefer to keep it that way." he gave a shrug here before dipping the spoon into the bowl's contents," When I became Emissary of Pherae they took down my family's old house and replaced it with this monstrousity...I rarely know my way around in here, truth be told...save for the rest room kitchen and bedrooms. I only come in here for the former two...been sleeping in the barn with the animals for three years now." he laughed and you could tell just how much of a country boy he was in the end despite his formalities in armor. He paused though, before eating some of the oatmeal, and you could tell that from a look in his eyes that he enjoyed it. While he didn't complain about the rations he ate, and despite how much he liked his jerky:
It was nice having a warm home cooked meal.

As Rayl came into the room, she gave a smile and bowed her head at him. Her whole expression was in a way her manner for saying 'Good Morning.' She licked off the spoon a little and got another scoopful and brought it to her lips, as she listened in. it really...all made sense. That's why the place felt so lonely, really, it wasn't even his actual home, though it was entitled to him.
Softly nodding, she tapped the cleaned off spoon on the table as she began to think back to her home. It was a few generations ago, but she remembered it well. Most would if they lived In a place they spent more than a millennia in. Eyes shifting upwards, a grin settled on her lips as she remembered home more vividly, and lightly began to speak.
"You're almost like me...in a way. My tribe...we live on one of the islands in the Western Isles. it's very...very normal, much like a human settlement. There aren't that many of us there, maybe one hundred of us. We live much like you humans do, tending livestock, fletching, fishermen, tailoring, farming...it's all rather quaint...in a way, I'm a country bumpkin, much like yourself."
She flashed a teasing smile, and then began to draw out on the table with the spoon, the mountain line she could always see from her house. She propped herself up with an arm that rested on the table and seemed a bit at a loss. Her eyes went back up to Rayl and shook her head.
"I'm a far ways away from home. In my home town, they send us out when we reach an age of around, well, to put it in your years, we would be 15 when we're sent out. I've been home for three generations now. I'm supposed to be finding myself, and what I want to do in this world. Do I want to stay out here, among the humans? It's a lovely idea, to do that, but it's sad. I've fallen in love before, and watched them die. It's hard to stay sane when you've watched loved ones die from old age, or from war."
Her eyes went up to Rayl, feeling a tear streak down her cheek, quickly, she moved to wipe it away, but her eyes were glassy, like she was about to sob at any moment, but sniffling, she tried to hold it all back.
"I've heard these past three hundred years, about how dragons are supposed to be insensitive monsters. A lot of us, that seem to appear that way, is because we've seen too much. Our souls are just as fragile. I've seen things, despicable acts, and even committed a few. I've killed people, they were evildoers, but despite my upbringing of pacifism towards humans, I still killed.."
Her eyes went wide and she put a hand to her lips, shaking her head quickly. She had been rambling, emotional ranting...whata foolish thing to do, how could she be so stupid!? Grumbling, she wiped away tear filled eyes and kept her eyes on her oatmeal, glancing up only once, mumbling softly in a sturdy, refined voice, but it was gentle.
"Sorry about that, I forgot myself.."

OOC: Dang Rayl and Saffra have an unearthly amount in common O.o
IC: Rayl listened to Saffra talking of her own life up until this point, and he slowly put his bowl to the side, before checking his memory to get certain year references correct, before he began to speak," No, you are right: we are very similar. I too have lost people I cared for...people I loved: to war." he looked back down to the table, before gazing back at her," Her name was Persephone, I had met her five years back. She was an Ilian Noble, and as was her family tradition, see out from her home to be a pegasi knight...that was my true reason I had gone to Ilia...I...had gone to ask her to marry me, but..." he paused, his fist tightening into a fist before he gently let it fall to the table, though his bowl still spilled over,"...I learned she had died in the final battle against Hargus..."
"We both have done acts we are not proud of. We have both mercilessly killed those who did wrong in such a way we'd try to forget...but as I said yesterday, life is full of experiences both good and bad...despite what bad things happen..." it was odd...the power of words, he'd never thought about things the way he was as of this point until he heard it from his own mouth,"...we can always look those moments in life we were truly happy...we can draw from those times the strength we need to keep going, to do what must be done for ourselves and for others..."
He fell quiet here, and nothing stirred about them. It was remarkable. The two were from completely different ways of life, different people...and yet they were exactly the same...he couldn't explain this strange feeling he had at this moment it was so...familiar," Saffra, if you are staying in our own human world, you may stay with me as long as you wish...if you so choose you can call this place home..."

Thousands of spear and arrows covered the sky. Bolts of lightning and fire blasted those in front of him to oblivion. Those? Who were those? He squinted his eyes, trying to recognize someone. Anyone. Etrurian soldiers. They were steadily advancing, crushing whoever was on their way. The ground trembled. They were closing in. Was it all over? He looked at himself. He was wearing blue. Blue? His only blue piece of clothing was his cape. Were did these garments come from? His cape was a mixture of golden and silver now. He still had his green cloth hanging behind him, though. The Etrurians were now only a few meters ahead, already throwing spears, arrows and spells at him. Then, a blinding light.
Gabriel woke up suddenly, sweating. The blinding light had been a sun ray coming from the window, hitting him directly in the face. The sun was up already. What had that dream been? He went to the restroom and took a quick shower. He had to get all that sweat off himself.
Not long after he was fully dressed, entering the kitchen, just as Rayl and Saffra had stopped talking. "Good morning" he said, still with a rather grim look on his face, as he took a seat at the table and tasted the meal. "This is actually quite good" he muttered.
OoC: Yeah, the entrance was rather sudden, but I felt like I had to do that. I thought it'd be a good excuse for Saffra to postpone her answer and give her time to think, if she needs it. Otherwise, she can answer right now anyway.

Saffra could feel her heart sink when he told her of Persephone. That must be why Rayl never sleeps in his own bedroom, atleast, one of the reasons. She mulled her spoon around in the oatmeal for a moment, but felt a little shocked at the offer to stay here, at this house. Inside, Saffra felt conflicted, it was a very generous offer, but she didn't know, she didn't have the mind to really think on it.
As she went to answer, she saw Gabriel come inside, and blinked at him. His timing was almost perfect, as she felt a little uneasy, but the offer was greatly appreciated. When she was more sure of herself, she'd be able to give Rayl a proper answer, but for now, Gabriel's entrance was a welcomed event.
She heard him mention that the food was somewhat good, despite his low voice. Grinning smugly at him, she nodded her head and dropped her spoon in the empty bowl.
"Glad you like it!"
Her eyes went and studied Gabriel, leaning in, noticing how grim he looked. Her shoulders gave a small roll and tapped her fingers atop the wooden table.
"What's wrong..? You look like you've seen a ghost...or a Dragon!"
With that, her wings burst out from her back, spreading as wide as she could get them within the room. With a broad smile, she tried to suppress a small snicker, almost forgetting all about he emotional state she just went through.
