Watching as Evayl went into the other room, he paused for a moment, and shrugged: looks like he'd be sleeping tonight after all...well that was doubted but at least he wasn't standing in the halls. Stepping into what was now his room for the night, the knight went to the task of removing his armor, standing it neatly on a hanger that was in the room, before he knelt down at the side of the bed, closed his eyes as he held his hands before him, in silent prayer to both St. Elimine and Barigan for the strength he needed to accomplish this goal of uniting the world should something foul arise...from Etruria.
When he had finished he let out a sigh before making ready his pen and parchment, and began writing a letter to Chelsea to be delivered along with the troops who would rendezvous with the Pheraen/Santaruz and by now hopefully Caelin forces...he had to write these letters whenever someone under his command was struck down in the line of duty...unlike most commanders he wrote all of his personally, and luckily rarely had casualties...injuries yes.
Once finished he left the letter on the desk before crawling into the bed, letting out another sigh, this one in relief from the soft mattress against his sore back, and would soon fall asleep: the first time in a long time.
EDIT: added another paragraph.

Aevian blinked as Evayl came inside the room after she was done attending to the soldiers outside which weren't dead. In the end, that fight seemed very unneeded, and unnecessary. A small smirk went to the troubador, and nodded in agreement with the bit of traveling, but once she was asked whether or not she was injured, Aevian looked towards her shoulder, and then the bandage around her side.
"Hurt? I suppose so, just some injuries taken while fighting. Nothing I can't live through, however."
Aevian flashed a small smile as she got up and gave a final rub at her sore shoulder, which bothered her a lot more than the actual wound to her side did. She slowly moved herself towards her bed, and lay down upon it, not bothering to go beneath the blankets.
"We'll talk more tomorrow...I'm exhuasted.."
Within minutes, Aevian closed her eyes and sank off to sleep, with uneventful dreams, the body was tired, and so was the mind.

Evayl stared at Aevian for a moment before shrugging. She was quite tired, too. In fact, her arms hurt. She hadn't noticed that until Aevian had mentioned her own pains. I have kind of a headache, too, Evayl thought. Maybe she'd just been ignoring it. Evayl let out a large yawn and rubbed her eyes. She really was tired now. So she followed the fighter's example and decided to at least take a nap, although Evayl crawled under the blankets first. So warm...

In the morning Rayl had been the first up, seeing as someone knocked on his door. Thus heading downstairs after donning his armor, giving two knocks on the girls' door, before heading down to the main room. He was near immediately cheered at by the locals drinking and eating, mugs were raised and people were happy. Sitting down to eat breakfast, The Crowley Special (even here the dish was a favorite!), he was given two giant plates of bacon, and a mug filled to the brim with milk...
...he'd substituted the booze for obvious reasons.

Aevian gave a startle as she was awoken by the knock on the door, jumping up and reaching for her weapon that was not there. She had taken a deep breath and held it, but after there was no danger, she relaxed a little and exhaled. Groaning a bit, she felt sore. Her wound at her side had closed, still hurt, and quickly changed her bandages.
Once that was finished with, she lifted her sore body up out of the bed, and proceeded to put on her top, and her regal looking clothes, and boots, then hefted the axe onto her back and moved her way down stairs to where she then heard the roar of cheers, grumbling a bit.
Once she was downstairs, Aevian's eyes looked around lazily. Finding Rayl was no difficult feat, since he stood out in a crowd, and decided to sit down across from him, her heavy steel axe making a loud 'thunk' on the wooden floor as it rested up against the back of her chair.
She ordered up the same food as Rayl, and while she waited to be served, Aevian looked at Rayl curiously.
"I'm confused...do you really like the attention of the crowd so much?"

Rayl shrugged, as she spoke," That depends Aevian: are you speaking to me in the present or the past?" he ordered for two slices of bread, before continuing," When I first became a knight, I sought to become as famous as Crowley the Magnificent or Barigan the Holy Knight: my idols." when he got his slices he began to put bacon in between the two pieces of bread," But after what I have seen: this popularity isn't the best thing in the world. young men and women come from all around asking for me to take them under my wing. I usually do in the hopes they'll not seek what I had when I was their age."
Taking a bite of his makeshift baconwich, he chewed politely before swallowing," Sometimes women seek me out as a husband...often takes me awhile to realize this though." a shrug before he continued eating.
Swallow. At this point he realized he hadn't actually directly answered his question," But no, I do not...however I can only hope that if the people appreciate what I do, they will try and do good things themselves, and who knows, eventually the world may avoid war all together, though this is just a lofty, unreachable goal..." with this, he went back to eating, until...
a man in red armor came and sat down along with them, extending a hand,"Sir Darron, Ambassador of Araphen, much like yourself." Rayl received the hand, and shook it," Aye, I remember you...so what now? Your people need a leader, and I have a duty to perform for the whole of Lycia- nay Elibe." if anyone else had said that, they'd have either thought him drunk or cocky...
But Rayl's tone was grave...deathly grave. "Yes, I know. I've prepared my men to meet with your and Santaruz's forces. I would very much like to assist you in your mission, whichever it was that brought you to our aide, but...I know this is an odd request, but..." he paused before continuing,"I think I should take the title of Marquess Araphen from you...not from power, but the people may be happy now, but I doubt they would want a man under service to a different Marquess alread-" Rayl raised a hand, "Say no more, I had no intent on keeping the title. Madame Aevian and I were discussing this yesterday...however..." Rayl reached into a pocket, pulling out the letter from before," Have one of your men, when reaching mine, find a Sacaen woman named Chelsea: Give her this letter."
Former Ambassador and now Marquess Darron rose to his feet and nodded," I will. May the Lord Elimine shine upon thee!" with this, he left the two, having duties to fulfill and a promise to keep to the paladin. Shouts could be heard outside along with Rayl's name, something foul against The Prophet, and then the sound of many horses riding off...
...Rayl lost his appetite now as he pushed the plate of bacon that remained away. He could only pray that Chelsea wouldn't be too hard struck from the news of her father's death...

Aevian sat still as lazy as she was. Her eyes were barely opened, so it may have seemed like she was uninterested as Rayl spoke, but she was listening. As he talked, her food was delivered, and she slowly partook of her meal. His past, as meaningful as it had meant to Rayl didn't interest her. It was true that one's past defines them, but she wanted to know how it affected him now.
Wolfing down the bacon, Aevian gave a small grin, and an appreciative nod for his answer at the end, but a small smile worked on her lips, swallowing her food, and then pointing her fork towards him, as if to gain his attention.
Aevian was not even allowed to reply to anything, as this new man, who didn't even pay her a bit of attention, almost like she were not there, came and spoke of being the ambassador. Aevian's eyes trailed him up and down, and then shrugged him off, continuing to eat her food. As he left, she then got her word in.
"Speaking of women who mean to take you as a husband, you're either awfully coy, or dense towards Evayl's advancements. it was amusing how you played dumb, but it was a little sad, might I add.."
Aevian was a bit frank, and hero or not, Rayl was just a man, and didn't want to treat him as anything special...she seemed to treat the more regular people with better manners than nobility most of the time.
"She means to make you her husband...the girl is engrossed with you. I personally cannot see how one can fall in love without even meeting them firstly.."
Aevian shrugged her shoulders mild-mannerly and then proceeded on to eat her eggs, leaving not a bit left.

Aevian's outright accusations towards Evayl shocked him nevertheless, but then ran through the events in his mind until it all made sense. A few seconds and a face palm later, he spoke," Well...love isn't important to me any more...in that sense that is. I love my country and countrymen, not just of Pherae, but all of Elibe, even those in Etruria. I love the sound of the wind blowing through the leaves of trees, but loving another in such a way..." pushing his plate of bacon towards her, having now completely lost his appetite,"...it's just not possible, no for me." he spoke without emotion and a calm face before rising to his feet
"Barkeep, might I get an apple?"
a moment later he caught the red fruit in one hand before looking down to the Bernese noble," Well I must tend to my horse, we leave once Evayl," the name was hardly spoken with any emotion," is up and ready." with this he exited out and to the stables to check up on his good friend Elibe, fumbling through the saddles bags, before pulling out a diamond ring-
-wait...didn't he drop this in the snow?

Evayl awoke with the sun shining in her eyes. Quite annoying, really. She sat up and stretched her arms, yawning. Yes, she had slept well. Evayl got out of bed and put her boots and jacket on- she didn't need to change out of what she was already wearing.
She walked downstairs and looked around for her companions, but saw only Aevian. She made her way over to the noble and sat down next to her. "Good morning. Sorry for sleeping so late. It's a bit of a habit." Evayl said.

Aevian had just finished off her meal just a few minutes after Rayl had went to check on his horses, but she stayed within the common room of the inn, and sat back in her chair, now with her axe on the table, taking to it with a soft linen cloth and began to rub oil along the blade. Looking up at Evayl, she flashed a smile as th woman sat nearby, but continued to rub the steel half-moon blade.
"No, don't worry about it, best to get this kind of rest when you can. We'll be in Sacae as soon as possible, and we'll be hard pressed to find bedding there, that's for sure."
Aevian nodded and then stopped her motions and looked down at her char-black coloured boots, and then fixed eyes on Evayl almost as if worried a bit. Her obsessions with Rayl was a bit odd, sure, he may be considered a hero in Lycia, but she didn't understand whyfore, Wyatt never really got to explain it to her.
"Do you really plan on marrying Rayl, Eva?" She decided to shorten the woman's name a little bit, so she didn't begin to get mixed up between the two names, if Evayl protested, she would continue calling her by proper name. "What happens if he's not all stories and greatness? Will you still love him then?"

Hrm... Aidan looked around the town for the man he was supposed to find. A man in blue armor with bright red tassel hanging from his helmet. Apparently this was the new Marquess of Araphan for no reason except that he killed the old one. Now, Aidan didn't particularly like the old Marquess but it didn't seem fairly effective to have lordship transferred in a fit of blood. If that was the case Lords would be dropping left and right and assassins would rule and... well it wouldn't be pretty. Still, Blue knight with red tassel is his goal, unless the title was randomly transferred again in the last few minutes.
He scanned the city with lazy eyes, not really wanting to be here. He didn't even want to go back to Bern in all honesty... Well it was too late to complain now, he was already on the way. But getting stuck in this little town was not on his agenda of things he wanted to do.
Blue knight blue knight.... There! His eyes finally caught a man that looked similar enough to who he was looking for. His name was... er... Rail? Real? Something along those lines. Apparently popular in Lycia, this wasn't the first time he's heard the name. He never paid attention to the stories... though now he kinda wish he did.
Ok, just go up there and ask. Ask like a normal person. Aidan went up to the man near the horse, observing a small diamond ring. Oh, he's busy... I should come back later... No! Aidan, go ask him! His self yelled at.... his self.
"Are you the new Marquess?" He asked. Not really sure WHEN he walked up to him. Probably during his inner banter. "I need permission to leave and travel to Bern." He added, so he could speed the process along.

"Was the new Marquess, but it's hardly fit to name a foreign knight as your new ruler just because he killed the old tyrant now is it? If that was the case Lords would be dropping left and right, and assassins would rule the world."
Rayl was no mind reader as he spoke without looking from the ring, focused on the engraving in the white diamond, before stuffing it back into his saddle bag, looking," However, with the former Marquess no longer with us, we are free to travel the roads again. I am Sir Rayl of Pherae, heading for Bern." he wasn't going to go more in depth on his mission, so he simply held out a hand," Pleasure to meet you sir knight."
the latter comment was in judging the man's armor, much akin to his former comrades of Ostia. He'd always admired the strength they must have had to wear all that armor...

Wait... didn't I just think that? Inwards Aidan was shocked, but outwards he liked quite the same. Looking down at the hand for a moment, almost afraid to touch it. He took and shook just as well, but still it took a moment. Ah, so it was Rayl. I knew I was on the right track. "That's a relief. For a minute I was afraid I'd have to chase the man down and ask him." Again. "I am Aidan Lowell of the Lowell house of Bern... Well the former Lowell house." He shook his head to his self with a slight smirk. "I'm afraid that name doesn't mean squat in the new Bern."
He released his grip and returned it to his side. Well atleast I don't have to go on a wild goose chase, that's no fun. In a 100lb suit of armor it's less fun. "Thank you for your time." He said with finality. Not wanting to waste anyone's time.

Rayl shook Aidan's hand, before looking back to the hand the apple had been in...which was now empty. Elibe snickered here, his handiwork was done. Thus with a smirk the knight returned his attention to the Bernese man, nodding his head," Aye, especially with the rebellion now...So tell me Sir Lowell, what be your plans now? If you, like us, are headed for Bern, it would be best if we join together, for safety in numbers from Bernese radicals, of which side we do not know, or from Etrurians, I heard they were forming a base in Sacae. If not, we may at least for a time watch each other should such a conflict arise."
This was Rayl's thought cycle. Meet someone. Learn about them. Learn their destination, if it nears his own or IS his own, offer an alliance. Per chance get to know them more on the trip.
To a young man this would seem like an adventure...to Rayl it was just life...not that he thought bad of this man or found him boring, it was just that it was so familiar and even regular.

It took a moment to recover from the 'I'm leaving now' mindset. People didn't really tend to care about what he said, especially since he didn't say much. "I'm traveling to see my sister in Bern." He said quite simply. It wasn't anything too deeply personal, and honestly he didn't see the reason to lie to the man. "She... She was next in line to be the head of Lowell house. However, one of the first things the Ilian's did was take our family out of power. Strong.... Never mind. It's not important." He shrugged to himself.
"Well, I don't see a reason to decline your generous offer." Well, actually I can think of five off the top of my head. "Though with casualness of how you're dealing with this... I take it this happens fairly often." Adventurous life I take it?
An alliance with a well known man like this can't be too bad of a thing. Besides... I'm not exactly in a hurry anyways. Aidan didn't smile, but he felt like doing it. At the very least I can continue now. Being stuck here against my will isn't exactly what I'd call 'fun' or a 'vacation'.
