With Lady Lucy at the front, the group marched across the lycian roads, northward towards Caelin.
Gabriel had been given a somewhat small, white horse, and had managed to learn how to ride...for the most part. He still fell off the horse every now and then, but it wasn't as hard as he had thought at the beginning. He just hoped that they wouldn't have to run. He'd probably hit the ground really fast if they did.
The trip had been uneventful, for the most part. Some of the soldiers were not really in the mood to go on, given Rayl's sudden decision to leave, but a relatively short speech by Lady Lucy got them all going again.
"It shouldn't be much further until we get to Caelin. It's not really big, but the people there are friendly and it shouldn't take long to get them to cooperate with us"

Wyatt had been walking, doing his best to carry more then his fair share. All a part of the strength training.
"Hmmm, that's a good thing. I've never been to Caelin, I wonder what it is like. Does the castle even compare to the castle of Laus?" He asked, not knowing if anyone had been there. "I got to go there once before. Man that place was huge."
He looked over to Gabriel. "So, you are a former Ertuian Noble right? What are Erturian castles like?"

Chelsea had made good on her previous thought and not said a word the entire trip. Several times she pulled her headband down over her eyes and cried softly. During those times, Spirit kept leading the way like the god horse she was. When she wasn't crying, the archer's gaze would wander from person to person, spending most of their time going between Kelvin and Karina. She still had no idea what to do with that situation, but didn't really want to think about it now. She was working on getting over her father and staying strong, which is exactly what he would have wanted.

"I...really can't say. I've only been to one, and that is Delfia's main castle. Or fortress, depending on how you see it. It is the biggest in Etruria, as far as I know, and it used to be quite beautiful before Kraft took over. Since then, barely anyone is let inside the castle. It sure IS big. At the very least ten times bigger than my father's mansion" Gabriel stopped talking to look ahead. He had to make sure he was not going off-course. It wasn't easy, being that it was the first time Gabriel even rode a horse(or attempted to).
"As soon as Kraft took over, he moved over to what once was the city's armory, and now guards stand in front of the original royal palace. The armory has been transformed into a castle since then. I never figured out why, but that's the way it is. He probably believes that the armory is safer than the palace itself, and the place is almost as big as the royal palace too, so he had nothing to lose by doing that, really."
OoC: Someone take control of the group every once in a while. Lady Lucy is literally up for grabs. Besides, it'd help, seeing how Rayl and I have been the only ones to use her so far. I...might plan to use her to promote Gabriel and give him an Elfire tome once we get to Caelin itself, given that I already have 100 posts, but that aside, use her.

Saffra hung back in the group, still mulling over Aerious' words in her head, and being troubled by them. She didn't ride any horse, and instead walked among the column, which seemed a little odd amongst the ranks of cavaliers, despite looking like some sort of noble woman the way she maintained herself. Her yellow eyes traveled over the dirt road and then looked up, seeing the walls of Caelin in the distance, and gave a small sigh, looking back behind her to see if anyone might be following.
Lady Lucy tried to put on a brave face for the rest of the group, but deep down, she too was worried. Despite trusting Rayl implicitly, his sudden take to leaving them behind was a bit uncharacteristic. Especially so since she heard of his emotional breakdown. Fixing herself on the saddle, trying to look more attentive when the walls of the city came closer and closer in sight.
"Column, Hold!"
Lady Lucy held up a fist to signify a stop to the march, as she came upon the closed doors of Caelin, finding this rather odd, as it was still daytime. Her eyes swept over the men on the walls, as scarce as they were, and proceeded to let out a shout.
"We are the detachment from Pherae! A messenger has been sent ahead of us telling our arrival, open the doors!"
For a moment, nothing happened, as if no one were actually listening, and then the doors opened proceeded to let in the Pherae and Santaruz forces. Lucy gave a brisk nod and motioned the others forwards with a brief gesture, and heeled her horse to begin it's trot once more.

Merio had stayed silent the entire time, reviewing what had happened. They had met cousin Rayl, and he left... No! This can't be... Sir Rayl... he would never! He was always the one that helped everyone, he was the one that would help the stray lamb... Why...?
He had been watching over the entire group, and had noticed Kelvin and Chelsea. They have become good friends, by the looks of it. Ah... love... Such an odd game... It is one where you have to rush, and where you can't stay behind, reviewing over small details. Kelvin will find love, everyone knows it. He'll most likely become a paladin before Merio did. Makes sense. The one who rushes and lives will be awarded for bravery. The one who plans and stays behind gets his fame in another, more passive, way.
Merio sighs, and looks up. It didn't bother him... but... it was always his job to look after his brother, to make sure he didn't harm himself. What will come, when he isn't strong enough to help Kelvin?
"Grr... Such a fool..." He had rushed once more, to try and get Rayl back. Rayl was the leader of all them... one of the oldest of all their cousins. It's the job for the older to chase after the younger ones... Merio groans once more, and looks. They were at Caelin... again... well... doesn't matter. Most likely, they won't travel to a lot of different places...
Oh well...
(Emo-like Merio... check. God help us all...)

Wyatt stared at the massive walls of Caelin. It really was something to behold.
"Wow...no matter how many times I see these castles, they are always awe inspiring..." He said, staring up at the walls. He looked over to Saffra next, seeing her look slightly distracted. He allowed himself to fall back until he was even with her.
"Something bothering you? You look a little concerned."

The army moved forward, slowly making it's way through the city. Noticing how the roads into the castle got narrower the closer they went, Lady Lucy signaled for the troops to stop at the plaza. She raised her voice.
"It will be hard to move forward due to our size, so I suggest most of the army stay here until we are back" she said, having turned around to face the small army. "Sir Gabriel and Sir Darron will come with me to speak to the marquess. Those also willing to come to the castle, please, step forward. Lady Saffra, it would also be good for you to come with us. The more leaders that know of your presence, the better."
Much like Rayl, Lucy was very easy going, and had no qualms with letting curious soldiers into the castle. But not many would be able to follow her. The less soldiers that went into the castle, the better. But she figured there was no harm in letting others come with her. Then it dawned on him. Unexpectedly, Gabriel raised his voice.
"Has any one of you been born in Caelin? It would help to have an insider to convince the marquess to join forces with us."
OoC: Had to have him say something. It was turning out to be a "Lucy-only" post. And yes, I just semi-forced Kelvin/Merio to come. Had to cheer Merio up. And...sorry to interrupt Saffra's and Wyatt's conversation. Continue it in a support or even here, so long as it's not three pages long. >_>

Kelvin had kept quiet as they had entered the city, but it felt good to be back in an area he recognized. He spotted his favorite bakery up the street, and was tempted to grab a roll or a warm slice of bread with a slab of butter on it.
"Has any one of you been born in Caelin? It would help to have an insider to convince the marquess to join forces with us." Gabriel's question shook Kelvin from his daydream. He pulled Kashmir alongside Gabriel's horse. "My brother and I were born in the surrounding area. Our parents are horse breeders. In fact, we've supplied a few of the Marquess' horses. I've actually met him a few times. It's probably best if Merio and I work this out," Kelvin said, motioning towards his brother.

Saffra gave a start as she was addressed by Wyatt, turning to look up at him with a bit of a blank look on her face, and shook her head, long hair waving with each movement, and then ended with a small smile.
"Hum? Oh, no...nothing...I was mostly trying to think on how to not draw myself too deeply into a possible conflict of nations, I don't wish to be used.."
Again, Saffra frowned at the ground, not having noticed that they were actually inside the city now. The people had gathered round and parted ways in the street to allow the small column of riders to continue moving on. Currently, her wings were not visible, but every now and then she would reach back behind herself, and rub at her shoulders where they would have been.
"I guess I'm mostly sulking over what Aerious, the dragon that visited upon us, said. He proclaimed that if I laid myself visible to the eyes of humans so they knew what I was, that I would bring danger upon myself, and all of you. I don't like hiding what I am from the world, only for them to find out later, and possibly make a claim that I was working in some form of social or political engineering.."

"Like it or not, he had a point." Yaen commented, coming up behind Wyatt and Saffra. "It doesn't matter if you are a good person or not, you are a dragon, which means you are different, and therefore, you are something to persecute." He stated. He wasn't trying to be cruel. It was a fact. "People fear things they don't understand. If they were to see you as a dragon, they would panic and conflict would result, hurting you and those around you. It may be difficult to hide who you are, but you must. Especially during this time of madness. Maybe in the future it will be different, but for now, it simply cannot be."

Mikar trotted into Caelin with the rest of the group. He had borrowed a spare horse. It must have been a spare for a reason. The horse had a terrible temper and kicked every few steps. Mikar not knowing how to ride a horse didn't help. However he was finally in Caelin.
Mikar looked over to Yaen, and saw him talking to some other people. Not caring if he interrupted, he went over to him. "Some ride eh?" Mikar said to Yaen as he cracked his back, caused from the bad ride on that horrible horse. It kinda reminded it of himself, he smiled at the thought and patted the horse on the back.

Chelsea looked over as Kelvin and Merio rode by to talk to Gabriel. She still wasn't sure how she felt about everything. Why did it have to be so confusing? Couldn't there be a book or something on it? She sighed. Her eyes lingered on Kelvin as she thought, then when she caught herself she looked away blushing. Unluckily, her eyes went right to Karina, causing another blush. Why was she blushing so much? She groaned and hide behind her headband. She missed the simpleness of the plains. She was almost positive that if she were to go back they'd be just as they were when she left. But she couldn't. She tried to focus again, but then heard that magic word. Horses. His family were horse breeders? Score one up for Kelvin.

Listened to Saffra's words. It seemed harder for her then he would have imagined. Nobody wanted to be used, but with that much power, how could she be sure she wasn't always being used?
"I think I understand what you mean. And I understand Yaen too. It's just a bad situation, but maybe one day people will be ready to see it...I mean I came around, so why can't anyone else?" When he saw the others getting ready to travel to the castle he held back.
"Ah, I think I'll look around town for a bit. Big fancy castles and all that prim and proper stuff has never been something I'm good at. Besides, I don't want to cover everything with my soot-coated hands."
The life of a laborer was not clean or pretty, such a life did not belong in a castle.

Saffra looked at Yaen with a flat stare, not really taking kindly of him because of the weapon he carried on him. She had never seen a weapon that was meant just to kill someone like her, and found it a little offensive in just the sight. Still, she could understand him having it, so she didn't pipe up about it. Shrugging her shoulders at him, her sigh was quite audible.
Looking to Wyatt, she smiled a little bit, and nodded, lifting her head up as her hands fiddled with her clothes, trying to smooth out the fabrics as she watched the people with an odd stare, and then looked back to the myrmidon and the fighter.
"I suppose, given time, things will work out, but that's such an odd thing to say. Much time has been given, and for such a hasty species as yourself, most are too slow to forgive and forget, still, I cannot blame them, our power is fearsome, and seductive to those who wish to control us, if they could.."
