Kishou kept his light to a bare minimal as the group moved. Being chased by some unknown army through fragile caverns such as these... it would be too late to consider a truce, since tensions are high and Wein had already shot down one of their own. War was a disgusting thing, pitting people against each other like this.
"Is someone there?!" An enemy soldier shouted. They were started to get paranoid, all within good reason.
"You best make it quick and undetected." he advised Bridget. "Something tells me we're going to be in a fight soon enough."

Aaron gave what was meant to be a reassuring nod to Bridget, as she passed. At least he thought it was Bridget. It was very dark, and it was just as likely that she had failed to see his show of support.
Aaron agreed with Kishou. If they weren't careful they'd end up in a confrontation with their hunters. As Bridget continued moving out from the group, in her own way, some of the soldiers were getting edgy. One looked directly towards them, but then his eyes passed over them.
"Settle down men." the Captain said, before being cut off by a cough. One of the robed figures removed it's hood to reveal a woman. She was probably the mage sustaining the globe of fire over them over them.
The Captain grumbled something under his breath, which Aaron couldn't make out, but he thought he could see the mage smile in a satisfied way, briefly.
"Keep your fields of vision covered, we're going to keep going, and..." Aaron tuned him out.
This won't do. If they stay alert Bridget won't be able to get close enough... I can help with that. Aaron took his fire tome, and began working with it, adjusting the way it would burn. Ah, red flame, and a green, maybe a blue too, yes... Just like Grandpa Barek's Birthday a few years ago.
With that, the mage started his operation, causing small puffs of multi-colored flames to start going off, somewhat at an angle from both parties. The people all turned away, and looked at the odd sight. Aaron saw the the robed figures pick up a more alert appearance, readying against this unknown threat.
"Hold. Do not engage unless it's necessary. With as old as this tomb is, who knows what it might be."
Aaron was just hoping that they wouldn't locate him by his use of anima, he was doing his best to keep every pulse of effort too short to pick up on. Maybe, just maybe it would be enough.

Wein frowned as he lowered his bow. These soldiers were well trained. They took orders well. The archer had half expected them to go running and scurrying in surprise and fear. He had been wrong.
The archer knocked another arrow, but didn't raise his bow. If Bridget was going to steal some items off of the soldiers, he didn't want them any more alert than they already were. Another arrow and another dead soldier would do just that.
"Try and get as much as you can off of the dead guy," whispered Wein to Bridget as she stalked by. "Much safer than stealing off of an alert soldier." The Ostian's eyes zeroed in on the group. The captain was the one keeping them in ranks, but the mage was their eyes. Which one to go for first? The archer raised his bow, and kept his arrow trained on the mage. If anything went wrong, he'd let the arrow fly.

"The dead guy. Got it." Bridget whispered. She turned her cloak inside out, so that the red was hidden and the black was open. She hid herself into the cloak and silently disappeared. As Bridget crept along the dark path towards the enemy group, she took great care to not make more noise than a light footstep. No kicking rocks, no heavy breathing- absolute stealth, or else they would kill her in a heartbeat.
Fortunately for Bridget, the group seemed to have forgotten their fallen comrade after confirming his death. She still remained as silent as possible as she crouched down in the shadows nearby. Certain that this was as close as she would be able to get without being detected, Bridget gave her cloak a flourish. A small flash of red would be seen by Wein and the rest of the team. A signal, of sorts.

Selk could do nothing other than watch the rest of his group do their best to get the soldiers to leave without being noticed. Selk was no tactician, he had no magic, his armor prevented him from being stealthy, and he was definitely no archer. That left him with no options. He couldn't help at all in this situation. He was very frustrated and nervous. Hope and wait were all he could do. He clenched his teeth with anxiousness as he watched.

Seeing a flash of red from where Bridget took off, Kishou assumed that she meant the way was clear. Being in robes helped to some degree in getting by; they weren't any thieves cloaks, but they were light enough to not make a sound, unlike Selk Mar's armor. The poor lancer just stood there in uncertainty knowing that even the slightest twitch from him would expose them all.
The monk didn't match the fancy footwork of Bridget, but still managed to come through undetected, and next to Bridget. From his vantage point, he could see the shadowed outlines of the shadows moving away, rather tensely. He saw one of them holding a torch over the group, illuminating their way. He thought he saw some red on their armor, but assumed it was just the light of the fire.
He could see, however, that as they made up to a fork in the path, they started debating which way to turn. After some debate, they split up and went in both directions. A smaller group headed for the left, the larger one to the right.
"Well, which way shall we go?" Kishou asked, as if the answer was obvious.

OoC: Thankyou Kishou, for posting that. It gave me a bit to work with, though writer's block may yet demolish the chances of a "nice" post.
BiC:
As the group moved on, Aaron crept after Bridget, and Kishou, managing to dull most of the noises he made with a soft step. He was apprehensive now, since they were following along behind. If one of the soldiers was to turn his head, then the mage, and his companions could all be revealed.
The clanking from armored fighters ahead stopped. They seemed to be deciding what to do, or where to go. Their conversation was just loud enough to reveal words like "Herald", and "Ostia"; "Prophet" and "legends".
When they split up, Aaron noticed the torches of the smaller group, on the left, flaring, as if in a breeze. Now, caves weren't his specialty, he did better in woodlands and fields, but he had heard that breezes in caves normally meant openings. He pointed it out to the rest of his group.(In a whisper, of course.)
"Look, the flames look like they're blowing. I bet their way out is that way." Looking around for objections, he would follow the soldiers, if there were none.
OoC: There. I added a bit of info. Now the next person gets to do whatever they want. Move us along, or object... whatever it is, let's try and get ourselves moving again, eh?

OoC: I'm slipping out of the cave. Feel free to do whatever you want, slip out, seperate, etc... but this seems to have stopped moving for the moment. I'm moving on to join Gabriel's thread. I might make this my exit thread post. Edit: This is my exit thread post. I'll be swinging by "Nowhere Towards Somewhere" on the way to "Even Towards...". IC: Having no objections from his fellow sneaks, he waited 'til the groups diverged more, before heading off, following the group moving to the left, the one he figured to be heading outside. Steadily, the paths they took started winding upwards, until it rejoined a large path. They didn't bother putting out their torches as they continued, for reasons that became apparent as the continued: it was night outside. The small troop finally passed outside the tomb, and headed towards a large camp, about three hundred feet away. They didn't seem to be worried about securing the entrance to what they thought of as a long empty crypt, hero's or otherwise. Hurrying out and to the side, he made a break for the cover of the brush a few dozen yards to the sides, not stopping until he had attained safety. The uniforms, and flags indicated the presence of the Inquisitional Army of the Prophet of Etruria. He felt anger at what had been done to Ostia arise in him again. He felt anger at the intrusion of this army into Lycia, his home, but this time it was tempered with thought. He still had a report to deliver to Laus. It would take more than a single mage to burn away this blight. He opened his eyes from his thoughts, and stood from his hidden position, scorched blue cape billowing in the slight breeze. He started speaking, conviction lacing the confident yet solemn voice, almost like he was talking to himself. "I'm going back to Laus. I've got a report to deliver... But I'm not running from this. At first, this was only a job to give me a chance to travel the lands...." His gaze hardened into a scowl, but it was not despairing or sad, like his previous expressions may have been. This was a face reflecting purpose and resolve, the will, the need to act on the problem. "It's become so much more. Lycia has come under attack from... adversaries we didn't know we had. This is going to become a struggle for the very survival of life as we know it. The freedom and relative ease of before... it must be put aside if it is to survive. This is a time when those who value freedom must stand up and fight for it. I go to Laus, and from there, I will fight to protect what I've taken for granted until now any way I can." After a pause, he turned and headed away from the encampment, leaving in the direction that he knew Laus to be in. Night time or not, tired or no, he needed to get there He felt a little funny after all that. Rally speeches, and declarations were left to village elders, leaders, his grandfather. He hadn't known that he could do such things until the words began to flow out of his mouth. What's more, e meant every bit of it. He knew that if Lycia didn't rally against it's enemies, not only would his home, Ryerde be threatened, every major city threatened, but it would wipe an entire culture off the face of the continent. The chaos hat followed would be too great to list. That's why he would take up this struggle, despite originally trying to keep out of it. These lessons had been being digested over the last several weeks, and now he was willing. He was willing to fight, cooperate, even lead the charge should it be required. He shook his head and mumbled something about "youthful fervor", but remained undeterred. OoC:I blame this song for the speech. I've been listening to it a lot recently. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXtqMwbBTxE

Wein had followed Aaron out of the cave, but had decided not to follow the young mage. He wasn't going to leave Ostia to go to Laus. Not now. He'd always taken his home for granted as he wandered the world. The archer had always assumed it would be there to come back to. Now it was gone. Wein would look for his family. Chances were they had died in the attack, but chances also said they could have made it out. The Ostian had enough faith in his brother to believe he had kept their parents safe.
Taking one last look at the charred, smoking ruin of the once greatest city of Lycia, Wein headed off into the forest in search of his family. For once, he wasn't wandering.

Selk had managed his way out of the caverns at the back of their group. The events of the day had lingered on in his mind. He seemed to become more and more silent as the day went on, sinking deeper and deeper into his thoughts. The Inquisitional Army of the Prophet had decimated Ostia, and there was no doubt that the rest of Lycia was next on the list. Selk's own home was just outside of Caelin. This thought alone would have driven him to fight against the Inquisitional army, but they had taken it a step further. They had annihilated Ostia. Such an atrocity could not easily be forgiven or forgotten by anyone. Selk had lagged behind during the exit of the cave quite a bit, but he followed Aaron. Selk didn't know what the rest of the group intended to do, but He knew he had a mission to complete. Although he would likely remain a fair bit behind Aaron, he followed the mage's tracks. He hoped he could catch up at some point soon.

After what felt like hours, Bridget pulled herself out of the cave's exit. She had gotten confused during the escape, and knew that the others were far ahead of her. It was a shame, but she'd survive. She still had her supplies, including her map, so her quest would not go unfinished. Ostia was no longer feasible, as it was clearly far too dangerous for her to enter alone. She took her map out and examined it. Her next destination was far away, but not too far. Santaruz.
