Aura glanced at Shadow and chuckled, murmuring "So the statue does talk..." Getting comfortable, he said "Well, it turns out that not only is Lune, crazy old bat that he is, trying to take over, but a key member of the Church happens to be planning a coup d'état to overthrow the Orders of Magic.
"See, a while back, Lune met up with the Praetor, Draclau, to handle some kind of financial problem. When he found out that Draclau didn't have the money that he made everyone think he did, Lune threatened to tell the Etrurians all about the fact that he was a fraud. So the Praetor made a deal to help Lune overthrow Eriz and Tao from their positons as leaders, and place him as the true head of the Orders."
Aura shook his head, before continuing. "But Lune doesn't know that Draclau is planning to kill him and take that position as well as Praetor." The myrmidon gauged the reactions of both Tionne and Shadow; Tionne looked disgusted and horrified, while Shadow seemed both in pain (no duh,) and grim. "So, you see, I followed a few bandits that were tracking you and hid out here, waiting for you to get here so I can join you and stop this madman from taking over."

Shadow listened and attempted to follow along with what Aura had to say. He generally understood that there was a lot of drama between a few people, and that they needed to be stopped. Perhaps Shadow's interpretation was too simple, but it was all he had at the moment. The agony from the yet healed wound was keeping him from focusing.
It seemed like there was a silence afterward. Either Aura was waiting for Tionne to speak, or vice versa. However, it did seem like they needed a decision from the monk. Attempting to keep a face that did not read 'pain', Shadow began to speak. "So... Tionne, what is your decision? Maybe... we should get some help, eh?"

Tionne felt horror and pure hatred fill him; never, in his wildest nightmares, did he think that Lune or Draclau would go this far! "That low down, conniving, sniveling, wrinkled, twisted bastard!" Tionne continued his rant for a few minutes before registering the shock on both Aura and Shadow's faces. "Sorry; I forgot who I was for a moment. In answer to your question, Shadow, we are doing much more than that."
Getting up, the monk grabbed a map from his satchel and layed it on the ground between his new allies. "So far, we are twenty leagues away from the nearest town that is enroute to Lycia. If we can get there, then we can be far away from Draclau and Lune's spy network..." Pausing, he saw that there was also a garrison near the forest they were in. "We could also stop by this garrison and see if any of the soldiers there can help us."

Shadow had stared at Tionne as the foul language could be heard from him. It was very shocking to the shaman. He knew that Tionne was no ordinary monk, but this? Surely, this man was one of a kind. He could worship a figure of light, and use crude language when talking about evil figures in his life. Tionne had just earned a bit more respect from the dark mage.
The shaman listened intently to what the monk had to say after his... outburst. Tionne did have a good point. Shadow had known that there were bound to be spies in the area. Especially all over the country they were in now. However, since there were spies around, there was a flaw in the monk's plan.
Once more, Shadow decided to speak his mind. He was used to staying unseen or unheard of in any area. "Tionne, we cannot go to the garrison. If you're correct about the area of their spy networks, then that garrison would surely be swarming with enemies. We need to think this out thoroughly before we act..."

Tionne slumped to the ground; he hadn't thought of that little stipulation. Glancing at the map, he looked at Aura to see that the myrmidon was laughing silently. Glaring, he huffed and demanded "What? What seems so funny to you?"

Aura had begun to laugh, silently mind you, when the monk had started cursing and ranting about the two men who were ambitious and evil. When the monk had calmed himself and started to formulate a plan, only to be shot down by Shadow.
After the monk has asked him what he thought was funny, he had an even harder time containing his laughter. "N-nothing...just that the face you made when you were angry was just hilarious! And then, when your plan was shot down, it looked like you were going to blow up!" Aura said while laughing. When Tionne smacked him across the back of his head, Aura winced and muttered "sorry..."

The dark mage watched as the other two interacted with each other. They seemed to be... cooperating, even if Tionne hit the back of Aura's head. In a sense, it reminded him of a past relationship with a unique priest. Alphonse was his name, and he too had gained respect from the shaman. Mainly because he could hold his own in a fight.
It had dawned on Shadow that the pain was not very noticeable now. Granted, there was a slight irritation where the wound was, but that was nothing compared the previous agony. Shadow wanted to check and see how the wound was looking. He wanted to see why it took so long for the miracle mixture to work its magic. The shaman figured that it was due to the way the monk had bandaged it.
Without saying anything, the shaman reached into the dark folds of his cloak. He took out his journal, instead of a tome. Within the pages of the book, Shadow had recordings of his thoughts on the darkness he was accepting for himself, and the forces of nature. Someday, he knew, a day would come where he would not be a simple shaman, but a powerful druid. The dark mage thought fondly of that day for quite some time. Shadow, even while deep in thought, stared at the pages of his book, not allowing anyone else see the contents of the pages.

Aura started to say something when he saw Shadow sit silently, looking at a worn-leather bound book in his hands. Walking towards the man, he lowered himself to the ground while asking him "So...what'cha got there, Shadow?" When all he got was a glare, he decided to walk back to the monk and sit beside him.
"Man, is he always this moody? I mean, I just asked him a simple question." Aura said while looking at Tionne. When the monk simply threw his head back and laughed into the night. Aura just sat there, looking confused and dazed.

Tionne automatically laughed when Aura came back, sulking at being glared at by Shadow and then asking him about it. "Well, as far as I know, he doesn't like it when people get too close to him. When I met him earlier today, he saved my life, but I made the mistake of pulling his hood off; I don't know why, but someone in his past made him hate being exposed in the light."
Motioning towards the book in Shadow's hands, he continued with "As for the book, I think it's something personal for him." Sighing, Tionne stared at the stars with a wistful look. "But in all seriousness, I just hope we can think of something to stop both Draclau and Lune, or we are dead."

The shaman had been listening to every word the two had said. He heard them talk about how 'moody' he was, or why he did not like the light. Those two didn't understand him. They did not understand why he did not like having people see him for who he was. For within his cloak and darkness there was pain. There were scars, and there were weaknesses. Shadow was not about to let others see his pain, his scars, and especially his weaknesses.
He was now looking at the map he had in his journal. Some time ago, the shaman had received a map and copied it in his journal. Keeping the bigger piece of paper would have been harder to keep order in his pockets. Still, the dark mage had copied each detail with great painstaking precision. Now, from what he saw, the group's best bet for getting out of Etruria safely was Lycia. Granted, there were dangers, and Ilia also was an option. However, the major problem with heading to Ilia was that they were closer to Lycia. The longer the trip, the more dangers they would encounter. For this trekking, there was no safe road; only safer ones.
Shadow put back his journal in his cloak. He did so with silence and care. Even if the casing for his ink was very durable, the shaman was gentle with his belongings. With that done, he spoke up from his silence. "So, I've been thinking of our predicament. From the looks of things, there is only one solution for getting out of the spy network. We need to go to Lycia. If we head anywhere else, it would be too dangerous. The Western Isles are off limits, and Ilia is too far away for walking. If we had horses, that would be different, but we don't." He then waited for what the others had to say.

Tionne thought for a few minutes about what to do; he hadn't considered going back to his homeland, but Shadow was right. Ilia was just too far to try going on foot, and the Western Iles were even more unlikely to be of much help.
Standing up, Tionne looked to the heavens and said after a few moments "Lycia is our safest option at this point. Bern, Ilia and the Western Iles are no help; staying in Etruria is out of tje question and last I heard, Sacae is in the middle of civil war." Glancing at Shadow, he walked over and kneeled before the dark mage. "I didn't get a chance to check your wound, so, if I may?"

Shadow was silent for a moment. If he were to check his wounded region, there would be a chance of his scar becoming visible to the others. He did not want them to see his past wound, but he also knew that there was no logical explanation from holding up his shirt a bit.
The shaman then nodded in reticense. Delicately, he lifted his shirt to expose where the bandage was. Shadow made sure not to lift the shirt too high, so that the scar would be seen. Still, Tionne would be so close to his older wound. Having the feeling of him being exposed made his spine tingle in a bad way. The dark mage waited for the monk to finish his inspection.

OOC: Sorry I haven't posted for a while! I've been super busy lately, and it sucks not being near a computer for 96 hours!
BIC: Aura whistled softly when he saw a glimpse of Shadow's wound; though Tionne's healing technique was basic and just amateurish, he'd done well to staunch the bleeding. Aura edged closer to get a better glimpse at the wound and was glad he didn't have what happened to the dark mage happen to him.
"Dear gods above! It looks like you were attacked by a bear!" the red head exclaimed, though he knew better; bears didn't leave just a single entry wound when they attacked a living being. A sword or a spear, however, could do exactly the amount of damage that seemed inflicted on the shaman.

Tionne gave the myrmidon a glare before turning back to the shaman; even though he'd stopped the bleeding, he feared an infection was an all-too-real possibility.
Grabbing the last of his vulnerary, he rubbed the medicine onto the wound before tearing a new strip of cloth from his robe. At the strange looks he recieved, he said "What? I didn't get a chance to buy bandages in town, so excuse me." Muttering under his breath about ungrateful shamans, Tionne tied back the cloth around Shadow's middle.
"There, that should about do it; my healing skills are left to be desired, but I did what I could to help." Sitting down, he snuggled against a log and said "When daylight or trouble gets here, whichever gets here first, wake me."

Giving the holy man an odd look, Aura shrugged and walked towards a stump that was near the edge of the small glade they were in. Turning to face the fire, he felt the shaman's eyes on him; it seemed that Shadow was following his movements with the calculatory glance of a hawk.
Sighing, the myrmidon looked the shaman right in the eye and said "Look, you don't trust me, and I don't blame you. We just met and you have every reason to not trust me, but I give you my word that I won't harm either you or the holy man." Grabbing the hilt of his steel swprd, Aura turned to face the direction from which the two magic wielders arrived; if they were followed, as he feared, then troubled wasn't too far away.
