Reylan felt a surge of pride as the crowd formed around the two knights. As Cebrail aimed another jab, Reylan promptly sidestepped, this time without much resistance. As Cebrail lunged again, Reylan aimed a quick sidestrike, which barely missed him.
Although he believed he was doing well so far, Reylan wasn't sure if Cebrail thought so as well. As the two soldiers exchanged blows, the spar seemed like a stalemate, with neither of the competitors gaining an advantage.
Reylan began thinking of a plan, still attempting to parry Cebrail's attacks.

Reylan was parrying and dodging all of his moves, and a draw seemed imminent. Thinking quickly, Cebrail lowered his stance almost to a crouch. He jabbed once, not expecting to make contact, and rolled to his right.
Quickly back on his feet, he sweeped at Reylan's legs, arched the lance up and brought it down hard. He couldn't tell if he made contact, but he sure hoped he did. The move was risky and left him open.

Damn. He almost duplicated my strategy...
Reylan was not expecting Cebrail to sweep him. As he fell to the ground, he realized that Cebrail had left himself wide open. Unfortunately, Reylan had not yet recovered from the drop.
As Cebrail raised his lance for the coup de grace, Reylan immediately realized that he was too far away from him to countersweep him, which was his strategy all along. Reylan quickly swung his own lance like a blade. The spear apparently diverted Cebrail's attack, causing him to recoil slightly.
Jumping to his feet, Reylan seized the opportunity. Raising his lance once again, he attempted to jab Cebrail on the opposite side.
However, the green-haired knight's attack was blocked. Was he feigning that attack?
Cebrail had recovered quicker than Reylan had anticipated. He raised his lance again, catching Reylan off guard. He attempted to parry once again, but instead he decided to try a risky maneuver.
Instead of using his spear to guard against the blow, Reylan swiftly ducked, praying that his plan would succeed. Although it didn't take long for Cebrail to realize that Reylan had ducked, the latter had already formulated his final assault.
Quickly, Reylan entered into a somersault, turning his back to Cebrail for a split second. Although a knight would never dream of turning his back to the enemy, Reylan had a plan up his armored sleeve.
Just as Reylan had anticipated, Cebrail attempted to strike while Reylan's blind spot was exposed. Hearing the swish of Cebrail's spear, Reylan quickly executed his well-planned maneuver. Perfect. With his right hand, Reylan swung the shaft of his spear, hoping that he was close enough to his opponent.
One second passed, and Reylan felt Cebrail's armor clang against the shaft of his spear. He turned his head, hoping that his aim was true. Sure enough, Reylan's lance struck Cebrail squarely in the back of his right ankle, hopefully causing him to lose his balance.

OoC: I apologize for only doing on OoC post, seeing as it's inappropriate. I probably could've settled this differently, but oh well. I don't know, Seli. You haven't been online very often. We kinda lost track of you. If you want to post, that's fine, but be aware that if you're too busy to log on, we might lose track of you again. It's up to you, honestly.

Reylan's lance struck him in the ankle, causing him to topple and fall. Cebrail felt his back crash on the ground, dust flying up. He began to laugh, done in by his own recklessness. "Nice one. You alright?" He asked still laying on the ground. He looked at the crowd that had gathered, money was being exchanged. "Don't just stand there men, today we will be going over some basic training. Grab a partner and spar!" He ordered the men around.
The match had gotten them excited and pumped. Many were happy to get some exercise. Where's Selibas... he should probably do some training with the men...

Smiling at the satisfaction of defeating his opponent, Reylan offered to pull Cebrail to his feet. The young knight turned, chuckling at the men clamoring to retrieve training spears.
Turning to Cebrail once more, Reylan spoke. "That was excellent. You're quite capable, I can tell."
In light of his victory, Reylan still felt a small thorn in his side. I haven't seen Selibas for a while now... I'd like to see his skills with a blade. I could use the observation.

Selibas came back towards the camp. Horses were fast but near useless if you had never ridden. He had gone to visit an informant in a nearby city. He was tracking a mage so he was close in Lycia apparently.
He found out the exact name of the one man. Yerna Cinderfelt a wyvern rider, from Berb, Loyal to Illia. Yerna would be dead soon. His imformant told him a monk and knight also had a death match for the man.
He rode into camp seeing Cebrail and Reylan spar. He smiled inwardly as he heard Cebrail say, " Where is Selibas... he should probably train with the men.
Selibas walked dismounted and walked up to the men preparing to spar. He drew his sword ready to fight. The man he had hit earlier stepped forward hefting a huge halberd.
Selibas smiled and raised his sword. The man swung and Selibas barely dodged it. Selibas tried to get close but his sword was to short. He was being just held off.
He heard a few snickers from the soldiers, as he was just a commoner not Reylan or Cebrail. He remembered the move his informant had reluctantly showed him. The man stabbed at him and he slid along side it after dodging it getting knicked in the shoulder.
He slid into the man with a tackle and picked his halberd of the ground. He smiled and helped the man up. He gave him his weapon back and walked toward Reylan and Cebrail.
How did he do it. Maybe the man wasn't a good fighter. No that wasn't it. Selibas couldn't explain it to himself. But he shook his head and said, "I believe I may have a solution to this Etruria problem."

Reylan spun around as Selibas spoke. The novice swordfighter had apparently been involved with the campwide spar.
"Oh, there you are, Selibas. Anyway, we don't even know if Etruria poses a threat to us or not yet. How would you know a solution, especially since you weren't involved in Balthier's scouting mission?"
Reylan hoped that he wasn't being too interrogative, but he certainly knew that Selibas wouldn't have information on Etruria. Unless he was telling the truth... which Reylan was hard-pressed to believe.

Sabin and his men had stayed in Badon for a few days. They had eplored Badon almost completely now,and they would probably stay here for a couple of days before heading somehwere else. The world really was amazing. Nature was just wonderful.
Badon was known for its many sailors, pirates and merchants. Sabin and his men had quelled with a few pirates yesterday, who tried to rob an old woman. Both of them clashed, but sabin came out unscathed. When you've been a pirate for eight years, you will know some tricks in combat. And sabin had been in many skirmishes with pirates,so he could handle rookies with ease.
Many people came in to talk with Sabin and his gang, especially small children. The in was very lively at that point. Sabin started talking about his father, about how he formed the crew, then how sabin took over, and then how a priest changed their lives.
Sabin was an expert at terrain combat. On many treasure hunts,he had to fight in a forest, and he learnt it naturally. Sabin also was an expert at ocean combat and maneuvering ships, becuase naturally,he was a pirate captain.
The locals came to like Sabin, even though he had been here for a week now.
Last night was a fiesty one. The crew started singing their pirates songs, and everyone there started fighting. It was jolly good fun.
Today however,Sabin was planning on his next destination. He asked the bartender if anything odd was happening in and around Badon. The bartender replied."There's a camp north of here, near the river's mouth. The army stationed there is against the etrurian army, where some soldier are fighting for the prophet."
Sabin was puzzled. The bartender seemed to describe the prophet as the villain of the land."Interesting," sabin thought,"so there's this man called the prophet. And he likes to conquer eh?. How peculiar...."
The bartender said," Why,captain Sabin? You're planning for another adventure?"
" I sure am. Thanks a bunch." sabin replied.
Sabin told his group," Ok boys,I'm heading out north of here to explore. I dont want all of you to come with me. You,hawkins, and yes you, Mike. Come with me. The rest of you, drink till you drop if you'd like. Or find some helpless people to defend. I'll be back after sometime."
And he headed of to find the camp.

Sabin arrived at the camp.....
He found two men sparring. They looked like an equal match, and the crowd was surrounding them to see who would be the victor. Lots of people were betting. This seemed to be a livley crowd.
After about 5-10 min, there was a victor. The green haired man eventually won. And soon after, every one were looking for sparring partners. He saw a young kid with a sword battle and take down a man with a huge axe. This crowd seemed to have skilled warriors, that was for sure.
Seeing the lively and skilled crowd and the spar, sabin decided something. He would sign up his crew for the army. With such pleasant entertainment, and withtheir goal mentiond by the bartender,Sabin was damn sure he'd be on an interesting journey, albeit risky.
After questioning some of the men as to who were the leaders, the pointed out that the two people who were sparring were the leaders. One of them was busy talking to the sword user he saw earlier,so Sabin decided to talk to the other man(cebrail).
"Why,dear sir,do you need some extra men? I might be able to provide you with a good number of axemen." He winked at Cebrail.

OoC: Note, Selibas, the lack of quotes. I never actually asked where you were, it's a thought. And I'm pretty sure Reylan and I are also commoners..
IC: Cebrail smirked as Reylan practically interrogated the young man. It would be strange if Selibas had a plan. Either way they wouldn't know if they could do anything yet, Balthier and his small patrol had just departed to determine if they were a threat.
A strange man approached and asked "Why,dear sir,do you need some extra men? I might be able to provide you with a good number of axemen." The man winked at Cebrail. Feeling awkward, Cebrail scratched his head.
"As far as I know, we don't have very many axe users. You seem pretty able bodied. Let's see what you got." He whistled and called over Reylan and Selibas. "Which one of you wants to do a quick match with him?" He pointed to the man. "Axe man. Don't worry about formalities, you don't have to tell me your name. It won't really matter if you don't end up joining our group." He smiled.

Reylan glanced at the newcomer warily. He seemed confident, even though this man came without warning. However, his offer was quite generous. After all, Reylan and his comrades were lacking in brute force.
Turning to Selibas, the green-haired knight issued a command. "I'd like you to spar with him. You're supposedly a novice, and I'd like to observe your skill with the blade. Go on."
Reylan hoped that Selibas would be a good match for the newcomer. He wielded a sword, so that gave him an advantage. The question was how well he could defend himself.

Ooc: Short post sorry about to leave.
Ic: Selibas nodded to Reylan and walked toward the man. He took his stance and said, " May the best man win.
Selibas decided top take the first attack and ran forward swinging his sword in a wide arc attempting to take the man by surprise.

"Good deal mate." Sabin replied. So he was going to go through trial. This kind of hurt him but he didnt bother much about it. Besides,it was just a small spar.
He found himself facing the kid with a sword. "Better be careful with him"sabin thought.
And the boy made the first move. Running forwards,he was moving in for a slash. Judging that the boy may have been inexperienced, sabin ducked the swing and hit the boy hard in the knee with his axe's blunt edge. He then knocked the boy off his feet with his axe.
