"Of course we did." Elias gave a dramatic thumbs up, dropping his hand like a hammer and thrusting his thumb into the air, coupled with a cheesy grin and one eye closed. "Never do anything half-way. If you gotta fight someone, might as well teach them a lesson while you're at it!" Letting his arm fall to his side, he followed it with a slight laugh. He was exhilarated after that battle, he didn't get to fight nearly as much as he wanted. It didn't really matter much in the end though, his tome was trashed. Stupid magic books.
"Well these books are full of long, hard words. Probably hurt them just to look at." He threw his arms behind his head, his cloak shifting. He only stood up to Flourite's shoulder or so, geez why did everyone have to be taller then him... First Kyro, then Migdig, even Arthur towered over him. Stupid weapon fighters... He hadn't met a single other mage on his trip. Sunny and the light magic people don't count, they use that sissy light magic stuff.
"Well, I don't know about you Flo, but I never got to finish my meal. I can't very well be a gourmet if I never actually eat."

Garnet couldn't help but laugh at Elias' attitude about it all. When he realized that he was, once again, beginning to withdraw and distance himself from people, he made a conscious effort to rejoin into the life of the world. Since beginning his travels abroad, he'd broken off from all but the smallest contact far too much. It was time to begin reestablishing contact, even if he was hunted in this country.
"The meal... I don't even remember what I ordered. Sounds good to-Oww!"
He was interrupted when there was a sharp pain from his injured hand, and he felt it being yanked away. Upon turning, Garnet found a small, youngish man passing a strange staff over his hand feverishly. It was a heal staff, and the man appeared to be some sort of priest.
"Thankyou, you two, for your help earlier. Try not to get hurt next time though, swordsman. I'd rather not watch one of our champions receiving difficult to heal blows, like those on the hands."
"I was taking on two villains at once you know. Having a hard time doing your work seems rather trivial compared to having two murderers advancing on you."
The young priest looked up at the mercenary for a moment, before lifting his staff and bringing it down hard on Garnet's head. There was a ringing in the merc's ears, and he nearly fell over from the jolt. The priest, for his part, appeared annoyed that he hadn't succeeded in knocking the big red-head from his feet. That didn't prevent him from speaking some profound advice though.
"I'd advise being quicker from now on. You'll be hit less."
As the little man moved away, Garnet was thinking things like: Arrogant little cretin! Let's see how quick you are, but he let it go. He didn't feel like dealing with anymore trouble, even if this little robed man did need some schooling. " "... Let's go back into the tavern.... What's 'Flo'?"

Nathaniel lay on the ground still in pain. The explosion had left him immobile. He was stuck waiting for someone to get close enough to realize he was still alive. He suddenly felt two hands grip each of his arms.
He thought, okay so I'm going to be taken to a healer. But after many steps being taken away from the large group he realized he was being rocked. To his surprise he was thrown onto a pile of bodies. Of course a mans shoulder guard stuck in his back. He yelled," Still alive down here my lords." They became extremely flustered and picked him up quickly calling a cleric. They set him down on a table and the cleric begun her work. The second enough pain left his body he noticed she was pretty. So thats a problem isn't it Monk. As more pain left him he grinned at her and when she looked at him he winked. She smiled and finished her work. She walked away with an extra "flounce" in her step.
Nathaniel was still in pain but he was well enough to walk. He got up and walked over to Garnet and Elias were standing. He said mostly to Garnet," I am more observant than you think, well when i'm not observing women and liquor. I've seen that your a wanted man my Lord. I believe I have a solution.
My mother and fathers land is very close by. My father much more of a believer than myself is high on the inquisitional staff. I think if we go and visit we could have a place to stay while your name is cleared. What do you say Lord?"

"Hey! Priest guy! Don't just try to ignore the glory that is the Crimson Mage! I need healing too, c'mon hook a guy up with some of that staff stuff." Elias called to the short dude, shorter then him finally, smacking Flo upside his head. Now Elias always enjoyed a good smacking, especially when it was not him getting smacked, so he didn't really speak out.
"Ah... of course."
The boy said in a tone that most would describe as utterly sarcastic, maybe even droll. If you could put a roll of the eyes into words, that's probably what it would of sounded like. Elias wasn't injured as much as Flo, mostly because he fought from a distance and was... not as durable. Therefore he focused a bit more on not getting hit at all rather then acceptable losses.
"You, sire mage. Excuse me, Crimson Mage I advise you to learn the word 'humility' it will do wonders for you."
As he waved the staff, a cooling energy overcame the red man. As he worked, the healer dispensed his fortune teller like wisdom towards the mage, but this enraged no one. "Oh, I know what humility means. For I am a very humble man, unlike my showboating rivals." He clenched his fist so tightly it began to shake, at first mildly, then violently.
"Of course you are. How silly of me."
"'Tis alright my fellow mage. Just do not let it happen twice, or one might question your observation prowess." See! Elias was better at giving advice! He should make this a living. THE CRIMSON WISE OLD MAN. He just needed to wait about sixty years and grow a beard first.
He turned his head and looked at Flo with a smile. "Flo is Flo, of course. Flo as in 'Flourite' because your name is also a gemstone. It's easier to remember, see? And just... flows better" He gave a corny grin.

"Right. it 'Flow's' better. Elias, that's got to be one of the worst puns in the history of bad puns. Well done." Garnet grinned back one of his own corny grins, to the red-headed magician. He didn't bother paying attention to the odd logic the man had used to explain the name. Just decided to roll with it.
Garnet heard Nathaniel, the monk from before speaking to him, offering to help it sounded like, and moved to head back into the tavern, dragging the monk with him.
"Nathaniel, that's kind, but I've angered the heads of an organization which there is no hiding from, and little defense against. murderers, hitmen, assassins. These are the sort that will hunt me, and eventually find me, unless I put some distance between myself and the hunt."
He looked around the restaurant as he entered, and couldn't find his seat, or his plate. The chaos from the brief raid seemed to have confused the place."For now though, I'd just like to have a nice meal. Then I'll be heading out of country, and doing what I can to dodge pursuit."
He scanned the room till he found a relatively untouched platter with a large steak on it. Grilled to perfection On the way over, he grabbed a full mug of... something... from an unoccupied seat. (Something he'd learned from a somewhat reformed bandit named Francis).
No one seemed to mind when Garnet took the seat in front of the steak, or even when he started cutting it up. In fact, the man across the table from him seemed to have not even noticed the nearby battle. He was busy staring intently at an old book. Very old, by the looks of it.

Nathaniel laughed as the mercenary grabbed a steak on it's way by. But why not? He had helped in the fight so the bad role model monk repeated Garnet's actions. He loved steak even though a monk was expected to eat light.
He had perked up of the mention of leaving the country. He said to the mercenary, "Well Flo," he grinned at the Crimson Mage's nickname for the man, "I think if were leaving the country might I suggest Sacae. I understand the women there don't dress very heavily." He thought for a second and said, "With that logic, how's about we don't go to Illia." He sported another grin as he took a passing bottle of Gin and started drinking.

"Oh, no. It's stuck." Garnet groaned to himself in mock fashion. He didn't really mind the nickname, but neither did he seem to care for it either.
Nathaniel's reasons for wishing to go to Sacae prompted a lifted eyebrow from the red-headed vigilante. Was this man for real? Wishing to go to sacae because he'd heard the women dressed "lighter" there? The few travelers he'd met from sacae had always seemed well clad enough to him.
"Your reasons for picking that country seem something other than traditional, Nathaniel. Are you sure the plainswomen would even find an Etrurian Priest desirable?" Garnet laughed softly while he ate some of his steak, and took a drink of some of the barely cooled liquid in his cup. Etruria was not generally welcome in sacae anymore. Except perhaps on the border, where the Etrurian Church's mission fields had had a degree of success.
The man across the table seemed to stir slightly, though he continued poring over his book, seeming to listen in a bit more.

What else? After she got separated from her friends, and somehow ended in this place, she decided to eat in a restaurant. She was too hungry to remember that she had no money. The foods here was tasty, she had never eaten something like these before. The only problem was when she suddenly remembered her problem. How would she pay for her foods? "Now what?" She sighed.
But the luck was on her side, a group made a turmoil and everyone left the restaurant to save their lives. She didn't have to pay!!! "I wonder if I should feel happy or not. Well, I must help eveyone anyway." Mana couldn't just look and leave without doing something to help, she drew her sword and ran outside. But before she could do anything heroic, another group had already saved the day. Mana looked with her own eyes how they handled the situation. "Cool..." She said.
Mana approached them. Just when she was about to talk to them, she heard something that made her angry.
"I think if were leaving the country might I suggest Sacae. I understand the women there don't dress very heavily."
"Are you sure the plainswomen would even find an Etrurian Priest desirable?"
They were talking about Sacaen women, she didn't like it, as a Sacaen, she had to do something. Holding her anger, she touched the priest's shoulder, turning him towards her and glaring at him. "Can you treat us with more respect, Mr. Priest? We might dress lighter than Etrurian women, but don't think something weird about us, okay?"

Nathaniel turned and saw a young angry Sacaen girl. He couldn't help but grin inwardly as she said, "Can you treat us with more respect, Mr. Priest? We might dress lighter than Etrurian women, but don't think something weird about us, okay?"
Nathaniel stood up and did a dramtic low bow. "My lady," he said with the grin showing now. "I meant no disrespect by my comments. But if you took offense to it, I apologize. I am Nathaniel disowned Acolyte of Etruria. My words were only meant that I personally find life more enjoyable in places where women are allowed to express themselves."
Nathaniel pulled over a chair and sat down in his original one, " My lady, please sit with us."

Elias sat there, munching on food and more or less ignoring what the other people talked about. On his plate was... erm... well it was red. That much was certain. Was that ketchup? Well, regardless Elias seemed to be enjoying it so it didn't matter in the end. He heard the pretty boy talk about sacaen woman or some stuff, then about Ilia and something stupid about clothing. Bah.
"I don't see what the big deal about wearing less is, much less area to put red on." He said aloud, taking a spoon and trying to stick it to his nose. "I've been to Ilia. They're nice people though." He added with a small smirk. "I met this one Iron Maiden, and a jerk name Migdig." Was that his name? Well it was to Elias. He spoke without really paying attention to his words, but rather to the spoon he was carefully balancing on his face. He was glorious at it! Truly if there was a spoon to nose competition, he would win and set hundreds of records!
There was another person, a girl this time. That reminded him, just where did Sunny get off to? Regardless, he paid her no mind. She was neither a spoon or a nose.

"What a stupid excuse is that?" She didn't believe him, but she was dumbfounded by his gentleman act. She didn't expect it at all, actually, she thought this priest would yell back at her or run away. Well, she had to stop thinking too much, she was bad with thinking. Mana wasn't sure what to do next but she unconsciously sat down on the empty chair. "Uuugh, maybe I should have left them alone. This happens because I have bad temper."
Now, she was sitting with them. She still couldn't forgive his words earlier but she wouldn't say anything else about that incident. He might come up with another excuse. Mana looked at the two other men, one of them was a man with beard, he looked like a swordfighter, wait, he was really a swordman! She had seen his swordplay, he was a tough swordman. And she glanced at the other one, he was...RED. Red hair, red cloth, and red cape, he was wearing all red attributes. This guy looked funny.
The atmosphere was awkward, Mana decided to start a conversation. "Aah, well, I saw you guys fighting before. I was amazed, your skills were great."

Ok, now she had his attention. "But of course! We're the unstoppable duo Crimson and Flourite!" Elias puffed out his chest in confidence, spoon still on his nose. "He chops 'em up and I roast them! Together we make the battlefield a gumbo!" Elias added with some hand gestures. Energetic hand gestures that threatened to knock his plate off the table. He completely neglected to mention Nate. Not completely on accident either.
He calmed down a bit and leaned back in his chair, the goofy smile remaining ever still on his face, and he looked over the girl. She was young, younger then him? Maybe. She didn't look like a mage, and that sword made the chances of her being a mage slightly less likely. Dangit, he needed more mage friends. It always chop this, stab that, bah. He wanted to know a mage so he could have a rival! All heroes had rivals afterall. Like... Erm... That one guy and that other one! Or Kenshin and Alan!
"I'm Elias, The Crimson Mage." He introduced his self like the world's best gentleman. It was important to be the best in everything, including manners.

"I see. You even suit each other. I mean...you two are red." Mana giggled, the red mage was a funny person. He looked so spirited. And those all red colors suited him. "Why don't you wear red too?" She asked jokingly to Nathaniel. "That will make a trio." Well, that was Mana, she had already forgotten her anger just after few minutes, a really quick change of mood. She leaned to the table, watching the group. "They look like a fun group."
Then Elias introduced himself. "Nice to meet you Elias. By the way, I haven't introduced myself. I am Mana, as you can see, I am a Sacaen." She introduced herself politely.
"A mage, a priest, and a swordman. This group is interesting," she said. "Are you guys travelling together?"

"Oh, Gaish...."Garnet heard the angry young woman approaching, and turned his head away, as if he didn't know the man he was speaking with. It was a useless action... but it did allow one benefit. It helped him hide his laughter at the monk's predicament.
He rolled his eyes as Nathaniel began his gentleman's act, and again as it seemed to be working. Never-the-less, he let things continue, smiling at Elias' description of them, and nodding in appreciation as she commented on their skills.
Reaching over with his own spoon, Garnet tapped the spoon still balanced on Elias' nose, and watched as it dropped into the pile of red on the mage's plate. Then he smiled in amusement.
"Well, when your partner roasts brigands, and balances spoons on his nose, you've got to cultivate some kind of skills to keep up." Garnet grinned over to the girl, and introduced himself. "I'm Garnet, and for the moment, yes, we are traveling together. What we're actually going to be doing, is less decided though. Probably leaving. And what about you, Miss? Seeing the lay of the lands?"

"Aw shucks, now your gonna make me blush m'am." Elias chuckled as she called him red. That was probably the most effective compliment you could give the manchild, outside of 'you're so awesome' and 'totally my hero' girlish squeals may or may not be required. He began to lean back, looking at the ceiling and a bit detached from the words coming from his mouth. "He doesn't wear red because he's not really a part of the Crimson duo." Elias quickly followed up. "He just kinda attached his self after the last battle, probably because Flo here saved his behind from being thrashed after he did something to some people. I don't remember what it was though." Elias wasn't paying attention to that. All he knew was Garnet said something about that Saint lady of theirs and suddenly every acolyte in miles wanted him.
He then snapped forward with a wide grin, the silverware clattering to his plate after being disturbed by the swordsman, him oblivious to it, but not seeming so. "Hey!" His voiced snapped forward as much as his body just had. A good silence followed his words before the Crimson Mage spoke again. "A good mage can make any group interesting. Also I bet you could totally have fun with us for a while if you want. Me and Flo are going to end up doing a lot of awesome stuff, and become heroes and junk."
