Riza was taken aback when a rather ugly wolf attacked her new friend. "No one hurts an ally of mine so easily!' she roared at the wolf, who was most likely not paying attention to her. She grabbed a stick from off the ground, and with the words, "arbor fluxe!" poured her magic into it.
The stick glowed, no, it sucked light from its surrounding, and turned a depth-less black color. She then threw the stick, guiding it's movements, at the wolf. It hit the wolf, causing minor damage, and flew back into her hand. "Garnet, try using your sword, not your hand, next time!" she said the the mercenary, brandishing the enchanted stick like a blade.

"These things... aren't normal." He saw wolves, if they could be called such. They looked... Unnatural, corrupted, and tainted by an unreal force. He smelt a strong scent of blood and rotting flesh, but oddly enough he also smelt onion. He thrust his arm to the side, shoving his cape aside with typical Crimson Mage flair, his trademark gesture. Underneath he held his new fire tome that the blacksmith gave him, prime for some wolf burnin! He needed to be careful though, poison to the mage, since they fought in the underbrush and one wrong spell would cause a fire that no only could kill them, it could alert bandits to their presence! Wait... He should of switched those two around. Oh well.
He concentrated and conjured a sphere of flame, but called it back after a second. That wouldn't be smart, he should modify the spell a tad... Dangit, his old tome had all the modifications in it! How did that spell go? Ah, that's right! "Eiris No Les Tolaeme!" He shouted and from his hand erupted a red beam that shot like a arbalest bolt, it was moved at a speed that made it look like an oval as it came colliding into the wolf's side, knocking it well off its feet, landing a bit away with a limp in it's walk. A normal animal might of been killed, but these weren't normal animals.
"Crap!" Elias groaned. His little stunt caught him attention like it always did, only this time it was negative attention by a very angry wolf. "Crapcrapcrap" He spouted as he hurried away from the beast thinking he was dinner, luckily Elias was fast.

"What are they?" Mana watched her companions fighting the unknown creatures, they looked like wolves but somewhat different. She wondered why they here, maybe bandits weren't enough? Really? Anyway, they looked dangerous, their eyes were longing for blood. "You must be kidding...Normal attacks had no effect to them..."
She didn't have time to think anymore with a wolf coming towards her. It attacked her, the creature leaped showing its fangs. With a quick draw, she had her sword in her hand. She waited until the wolf was near before thrusting her sword into the open mouth. The sword pierced into the wolf's throat stopping its movement completely, but only for few seconds. The wolf had the Sacaen myrmidon surprised seeing it still moving and snarling. Mana tried to pull her sword but it was stuck between its teeth. "Hey, release my sword, stupid wolf!!!"
Mana could see from the corner of her eyes, the others also had their own problems dealing with the wolves. She couldn't move but no one was available to help now, she had to do something. "If I forcibly pull my sword, I will end with a broken sword and that wolf bite me." She kicked the wolf but her attack had no effect at all.

Elena pulled out her knife and got into a ready stance as one of these evil looking wolves ran at her. What the hell were these things? Didn't matter right now, all that did was that it was running at her right now and she couldn't have that. "That's it, wolfy, come on..." When it got close enough, she swung it. She nicked it in the face but that didn't stop it. "Well that's not good." The wolf jumped at her, catching her shoulder with it's claw. She swore to herself and readied again. "Alright, wolf. Let's do this." She ran from it and went up a tree, jumping off it to get behind the wolf and slashed at it. Elena 2, wolf 1.

What is this thing?! The Red-headed mercenary held back the broken-jawed doom wolf as it continued scrabbling at him. He could hear the sounds of combat breaking out all around as more of the creatures darted out of the bushes.
His chance came when something that appeared to be a stick, shrouded in darkness bounced off the wolf's head, causing it to lift it's head and snarl in the direction of the thrower. Garnet reacted, seizing the monster by it's neck and hurling it off of him.
"Garnet, try using your sword, not your hand, next time!" Dang it! His hand was still burning.
He heard a satisfying thump as it bounced into a nearby tree, but it was back up and charging at him in an instant. Thankfully, Garnet had gotten up just as fast. The issue left over was that he'd lost his sword in all the scrabbling about, and the doom wolf was charging at him again. Just as it was about to crash into his legs, the Mercenary leapt straight up in the air, and landed on a mid-sized boulder behind him, allowing the monster to crash into the rock instead. With little choice in the matter, Garnet reached up and drew his great iron blade over his shoulder, and down into the doom wolf crumpled into the rock. The blade didn't cut into the hide very much, but the impact sent a shudder through it before it stopped moving.
Taking his moment's respite, Garnet surveyed the battlefield. It was impossible to tell just how many of the creatures were attacking them, but he could see one chasing Elias, one battling with Elena, and at least another two seemed to be circling the perimeter.
"Thanks for the save Riza!"
There was a flash of light nearby, and a wolf bounced back, hitting the ground. "Tersum!" It was Cecil, calling out jibberish as far as Garnet knew, but then another light flash exploded on the wolf, and sent it skittering across the ground again, into the brush, and out of sight.
The old man seems to be taking care of himself better than we are.
"Elias!" Leaping down, Garnet swung his blade, crashing it through the leafy growth, and into the pursuing wolf's legs. "You're running the wrong way man. Let's get back to the group."
Dodging around the snapping jaws of the grounded wolf, Garnet started heading back to a more central location. He could see Cecil heading there as well. Hopefully, the rest would get the idea as well.

Well well well, Mr Wolf. It appears the table have turned! Elias stopped his mad dash away and promptly turned on his heel. He stared down at the wolflike beast with a look of triumph in his eyes, the monster being crippled from Garnet's dashing assist. The wolf showed no fear though, he just snapped and mawed like an insane child who's had too much sugar and pretended this is exactly what dogs are supposed to do. It was a characiture of itself.
Elias swiftly threw his arm towards his mouth, while his other hand tapped the tome's cover. If concussive force wouldn't take them out, heat was his only other option. What else then to use a LOT of it! Elias took in a deep breath, and then announced in true super villain fashion, "Breath of the Evil King Red!" And with a powerful exhale, a stream of incredibly hot fire caused by the combined force of two fire spells erupted from his mouth, the intense heat burning whatever remained of the wolf left.
"Whew." Elias burped, a ring of smoke from his mouth hitting his self on the chest. "Heartburn, seriously." He flashed a cheesy grin and hurried away, following Garnet to his little area thingy doohopper. "Hey! Rizelgrilla! Over here!" He waved over to the blond and purple shaman lady. The thief person was hiding in a tree like a cat, and Mana was busy with her own thang. Elias snapped his head around. "Hey! Flo, you should help Manners over there! I'd do it, but I'd probably just burn her."

"With your flamin' heartburn!" Not that was something Garnet had not expected. Seriously, if even mages' belches were dangerous, he'd have to keep a better eye out for any he'd meet in battle. "Manners! Right."
He took off, running towards where he could see Mana moving, on the other side of some leafy branches. He had to vault a few low branches, and heavy roots on the way, and he nearly fell into one of the doom wolves before a Blast of light connected with it, framing the creature in brilliance for a moment, and stunning it.
Garnet passed it by. His heavy iron blade was a formidable weapon, but it was proving far more difficult to drag through the woods than his light, maneuverable slim sword would have been. Seeing Mana's weapon stuck in the monster's jaws, only encouraged Garnet to hurry all the more, though. "Mana, hang on!" In this instance, it was meant as encouragement, as well as a heads up on what was coming.
Garnet swung his two-handed up just as he stepped within range, and connected with the doom wolf on it's side, knocking it a couple feet off the ground, before it fell back down to the earth. Hopefully the impact had been enough to jar Mana's sword loose.
With his blade still high in the air, Garnet made as if to follow through with the killing blow. Before he could swing it down though, another (different) wolf jumped for the Merc's throat, and forced the red-headed mercenary back a step. He barely managed to get his two-hander down between him and the wolf in time to halt it's attack. "Watch yourself Mana! Don't let your guard down."

Nathaniel having once again spaced out back on his horse was awoken by the shouts. He fell of his horse near the spot Flo was headed for. He stood up noticing his horse had left the area he sensed the wolves in. He rushed next to the swordsfighters standing probably closer than a Acolyte would be needed.
He flipped open his tome and flipped to his favorite page. He put his tome back and performed his hand signs. He yelled something he had thought of when he was drunk. He thought of his belief and faith. Mainly women and liquor. And in his hands appeared two balls of light. He lifted his hands and the balls flew out of it. They struck the wolf in the face forcing it do take the step back and giving his companions a second to recover.
But Nathaniel heard a growl getting closer and he barely jumped left in time to avoid a bite to the calf. He backpeddled flipping to a page in his tome he quickly pulled out. He landed on one he had never seen before. It had an illustration very similar to the bolts of lightning in the sky. He copied the incantation and words exactly. But he lifted his hands and the bolt appeared. But it didn't fly. The wolf caught him and cut nathaniel across his torso.
Nathaniel was in pain and had no options. He physically touched the bolts and realised it didn't hurt him. He threw it at the canine. It worked. He yelled, "I could use some help here ladies and gents. Unless you want to be down one."

'Chloe' turned to Elias, her wolf having been stunned for a few seconds. "Flo?! That's not even close to right!" She'd take care of him later. How dare he mess up her alias! She turned her attention back to her wolf, which was ready to fight again. Using a few seconds to limber up a little more, she ran towards the wolf. She knew she'd never be able to take it head on, not with a knife instead of a true sword and not a lot of power. What she did have, though, was speed. She dodged around the wolf, slashing at it as she did. The wolf yelped out and turned to face her.
The silver-haired girl repeated this tactic a three more times before finally hitting the wolf in the throat and it fell down for good. Breathing a sigh of relief, she looked around at the others fighting their wolves. Definitely an interesting bunch. Then she noticed the monkish looking guy calling for help. Normally, she'd have just let him be, but she didn't want to blow her cover in this group. "Chloe to the rescue!" She said, hurrying over to him and slashing again at this new wolf. Man, her knife was definitely getting its use in today.

Riza threw this stick again, this time targeting a wolf near the monk. However, she must have overestimated her throw. The stick went sailing over the wolf, and flew out of her range, un-enchanting it. Once she saw a thief going to assist the monk, she forgot about the stick and focused instead on the pair of wolves trying to take Garnet down.
Riza twirled her hands in the air, gathering the magic energy latent in the plants around her. "Sildru fluxa nuirae!" she chanted, sending a ball of darkness hurting into the wolf who had just attacked him. She then turned to Elias. "Whats up?"

"Ahh! My sword!" Garnet landed a massive blow which sent the wolf flying and freed her sword. But she couldn't smile when she saw a small crack in her sword. It was small but not something she could ignore. Her anger rose to her head, it might be just a cheap sword but she liked it.
"Thanks Garnet, I will repay this debt later." The mercenary seemed able to handle the wolf who attacked him, Riza helped him too so he should be alright. She had to admit that this group had a good teamwork. But now her focus was on the wolf who had given her trouble, it was a good thing Garnet failed to give the killing blow, she wanted to finish the wolf herself. "Look what you have done to my sword!" She shouted.
The wolf looked weak, of course, that big sword would give a great damage to anyone. She jumped and then twirled in midair to add more power to land a killing blow. "Heeeah!" She swung her sword vertically, the wolf tried to dodge but it was too late. The sword connected with its neck, the myrmidon cut the wolf with a strong slash. The dead body slumped over the ground, and black blood came out from the wound.
"Hah! Take that!" Mana shouted. Then she remembered about the other, Mana turned around and saw Nathaniel on the ground, he was injured. "Oh Mother Earth..." She switched her gaze to the others.

"One minute." He held up a finger as he turned to the injured wolf, just backhanded by the dark forces of the world. Didn't feel good, did it!? Elias knew. Ow.... Stupid advantages of magic over other magic, is the universe trying to force some arbitrary balance upon them for inadequately described reasons? Regardless, that wasn't really the point. Elias blasted yet another wolf with a jet stream of inferno flames erupting from his mouth. "Great King Red's Rampage!" He roared as the already injured wolf ceased to move. Deeps burns littered it's hide, but it wasn't burned to cinders like it should of been. Whatever these things were made of, it was pretty tough. Shame it wasn't red. How strong would a leather hide made from these pelts be? He'd have to skin them later. Or rather get Flo to since that was totally gross.
"Ok." He turned back to the shaman girl. "Rizelgrilla, thanks for the opening." He grinned. "Fluorite wanted us to gather up... But I see he went and didn't. Butthead." He looked over to Garnet. Atleast he had one less wolf to worry about. "Come on, stay close to me. We'll blitz'em!"

Garnet stepped back, pressed back by an assault that seemed to be more ferocious than before. Garnet was slowing. He shouldn't be this worn out yet, but things were getting tougher. Then Garnet remembered his hand, which was still burning painfully. Could that be slowing him down. The other scrapes, cuts and bruises were all forgotten, but that burn on his hand, and the small scrapes on it were starting to be a distraction.
The wolf's lunges were getting harder, and harder to repel, until he found himself backed nearly to where he'd started. He nearly tripped over his slim sword, laying across a log point down in the dirt, and the stumble cost him his defense. The wolf dashed in, getting ready to rip slash Garnet's stomach across the ground, when a unexpected reflex made Garnet stomp on his sword handle. The blade popped up, off the ground, as the wolf leapt at him, and drove into the creature's stomach with it's own hideous strength.
The following impact knocked Garnet to the ground, and stunned him a bit, but he was alive. The wolf was dead, and the merc was alive. He just lay under it for a bit, trying to figure out how he wasn't dead, when he felt a burning coming from more of the creature's saliva, and flung it off.
How many wolves were still here? Any? Oh... I've got to get up!

Cecil saw Nathaniel struggling with his opponent. He was putting up a good fight, using effective spells, but someone of his age rarely had enough power to dish out the power needed to destroy one of these abominations.
"Exsisto tersum ex orbis terrarum!" Be scoured from the earth!
Three globes of light formed, before flattening out into large cylinders, and lastly into the images of spears. The spears flew at Nathaniel's Wolf, piercing it, and leaving holes where the spears had incinerated flesh before disappearing.
Cecil gave a quiet sigh, and a small smile, relieved to see the thing dead. He didn't notice the wolf behind him, limping from out of the nearby undergrowth, a feral, crazed hunger in it's eyes.

OoC: I lost cound of how many wolves there actually are!
IC: Riza smiled at the mage and said, "Rizelgrilla's sorta a mouthful, you can just say Riza, you know. But back on track, I can put up a small barrier to shield us, seeing as though these beasts are rife with elder magic, I can draw from them. I'll protect you and you can wail at them as you please."
Her hands glowed with magic power as she chanted softly, "selduar fluxa, nedru proctos!" Three small balls of black energy flickered to life and started to circle around Elias, ready to join together and deflect attacks. She felt a sudden drain in her energy, and hoped that no wolves went strait for the mage.

"Old man!!!" Mana shouted as she saw the wolf behind Cecil. He was far enough and her voice couldn't reach him because of the sound of fighting. It was her instinct which made her sprinting towards the Bishop, she raced with time. It was not easy running in terrain like this but she couldn't grumble about it now.
Mana leapt at the same time with the wolf, both had their own target. Her timing was perfect, she rammed the wolf to stop the wolf from having Cecil as a dinner. The wolf lost its balance but managed to land successfully. It didn't give a single second for Mana to gather her breath, Mana saw the wolf coming towards her. Having learned that they couldn't be killed with simple attack, Mana prepared to give a deadly blow.
They were already close and Mana watched its movement, she seized the initiative and swung her sword diagonally. It hit the wolf's head right on its brain, an instant kill for anyone. The wolf fell to the ground, Mana took a few steps backwards, she didn't want to have the wolf attack her suddenly if it was still alive.
"Hey, old man Cecil. Watch your back."
