Sascha's eyes flicked back and forth, and her tail twitched. But with the soft touch of Karina, along with Ralph's own warm hand, she stayed calm. Karina closed her eyes, feeling the pegasus' breathing rate, heart rate, and muscle movement. She deduced that Sascha was not fearful of Ralph. "She likes you," Karina said liberally. She turned to Rayl and asked, "So, when are we taking off?"

Watching everybody with their mounts, Rayl couldn't help but smile as he patted Elibe on the side, the great horse was busy eying a stableboy who was pressing himself against the wall as he slowly slunk out. Outside the stables was his flagbearer, waiting patiently for the order to move out, as was another man, leaning against his supply wagon. Karina then she turned back from introducing Ralph to the pegasus,"...I'd say we are good and ready. We will, without a doubt, have to camp out in the mountains, but hopefully we'll make enough progress to get out before we spend another night within them."
Thus the paladin saddled up and turned his charger around to exit the stable, the aforementioned horse staring down that poor stablehand as it made it's way for the gates on the other side of the courtyard (flagbearer and supply wagon close behind.), the mountains looming over the fort's wall...Rayl couldn't help but feel slightly demoralized, mostly from the thought of going back to Bern, having only one good memory of the place.

Karina patted Sascha's neck, and the pegasus took off. Karina felt Ralph grasping her waist, and patted his hands to let him knew she had him. "What do you thing?" she asked over the rush of air. Sascha flew lower, circling close enough to Rayl to for Karina to yell, "Shall we scout ahead?"
OoC: should we move this party to Bern?

Ralph attempted to say "Amazing!" but the wind made him swallow his voice. So, this is flying. What a rush. he thought, clutching tightly to Karina. This is an experience most people will never have, I must charish it. The wind blew through his red jacket, chilling his skin. The sky was so frigid, but Ralph was able to bear it with Karina and Sascha's warmths.

Alwin had stopped by a nearby lake to fill up his canteen and to allow Karen something to drink. They had been traveling for a while now; at least a couple days or so on their own, and food was starting to run a little thin. It was fine, however, as soon they would be in Bern, their home that they had left long ago. After hearing about the rebellion from a stranger he had bumped into, he decided to return home in his countries time of need. It was what his dad would have wanted, he was sure of it.
They had been resting at the lake for at least an hour now, and they would soon take to the air once more. Alwin was tired, only getting a minimum amount of sleep, but the thought of returning to aid his homeland renewed his willpower, causing him to push himself further than usual. Karen did not need to sleep much, but she, too, felt the fatigue of long days of travel, but after the short rest, she was quickly filled with vigor, and able to take flight once again.
"I'd say that about does it. Ready to go?" Alwin asked Karen. She gave an understanding grunt, as she unfurled her wings, and Alwin mounted her. With the powerful beat of wings, they were quickly thrust into the open skies, as they continued on their way to Bern.
It only took a few minutes before Alwin could see something out in the distance in the sky. He squinted, trying to make out the figure, but had to get a little closer. As it came into view, he slowed down. "A.... a Pegasus?" He muttured to himself. All of a sudden, an annoyed feeling took Alwin over. Pegasus knights were famed for being Illian soldiers. The fact that one was so close to Bern felt unsettling.
He couldnt help but wonder why she was closer to the Lycian-Bern border than the Sacaen-Bern border. It seemed rather out of place, especially if the rumor of rebellion was true. Perhaps it was not Illian, but he couldnt take that chance, and he never heard of a Non-Illian Pegasus Knight.
The smart thing to do would have been to avoid contact, however it was in a direct path to Bern, which would force him to take a detour that would delay him longer than he'd like, so he decided he would try and make a break for it, and fly past them as fast as he could. There was only one Knight, and if she tried to stop him..... well, he had his lance at the ready. "Alright, Karen, get ready. CHARGE!"
Karen took off at her top speed, as Alwin kept his eye on the Pegasus Knight.

Sascha snorted, directing Karina's attention to a charging wyvern rider. Could it be one of Bern's scouts? Was the country already alerted to their presence? "Hold on tight Ralph, this may get ugly!" Karina shouted to her rider. She directed Sascha towards the wyvern, agilely flying around the larger, slower creature. She thought about how the winds must have made her look, blowing her hair around and perhaps giving the wyvern's rider a glimpse of her upper leg. perhaps the sight of such a rider would halt his charge
"Hail, good sir!" she shouted over the wind. "I am but a scout in the employ of Lycia! Please, I do not mean you harm. May I inquire you about your purpose?"

"Hail, good sir! I am but a scout in the employ of Lycia! Please, I do not mean you harm. May I inquire you about your purpose?"
Alwin began to slow to a halt, wary of the Pegasus Rider. He took a close look at her, and realized that she wasnt the only one riding the pegasus. He kept his lance at the ready, not trusting her one bit.
".....I've never heard of a Lycian Pegasus Knight. What makes you think I'd even believe that?" Alwin was rather curious why she'd released so much information to someone she had never met. A Lycian scout? Perhaps she wanted to make him drop his guard.
Still, she did not attack, so Alwin saw no harm in responding to her, even if he was in a hurry. Perhaps he could even get some information out of her. "What I'm doing here isnt something I care to divulge. Not to a Pegasus Rider."
He didn't realize it at the time, but that last statement may have revealed more than he had planned.

Karina looked at the man on the wyvern carefully. He was not bad looking, but had a strange mark under his eye. She wondered who would win in a fight. Surely, Sascha could outfly his wyvern, but The said wyvern was probably stronger than her.
She hoped it would to resort to that, and instead she said, "I can do nothing to make you believe me, but I am in no way under the influence of Ilia... Anymore. I am from the nearby Lycian fort, and am on my usual rounds." The last bit was a lie, as Karina was only waiting for Rayl to give the word to set out. She should probably just go back to him and report that a wyvern rider had spotted her. "Now, if you've nothing more to say, I must get back to the fort. Good day, young knight," she said, giving the rider a lusty smile as Sascha turned around and they made for Rayl.

The look Karina gave Alwin before she left made him feel uncomfortable. He unconciously blushed very slightly, and watched as she rode off, towards a fortress in the distance. "She's.... a bit strange."
...
...
"Ah!" He exclaimed, in a rather panicked way. "Crud, if she reaches her base, it could be disasterous for me. She could alert more Pegasus Knights!" Even though she denied she was tied to Illia currently, what Alwin gathered from her statement was that wasnt always the case. He still had no reason to trust her, and he did the only thing that came to his mind.
He chased her. Someone more experienced would have probably just backed off and continued towards Bern, but Alwin was still a bit of a rookie, and in his panicked state, he picked the less intelligent choice.
"H-hey! WAIT!" He shouted, as he tried to keep up with the fast rider, but he was still unable to catch up. She was probably out of earshot by now, although he doubted she would come back anyways. "Damnit.... this could be bad..."

Karina thought she had heard a faint cry in the direction of the wyvern rider. Confident she could handle the situation, she turned around. "Excuse me?" she asked the rider, smiling and posing on Sascha in a way that brought attention to her curves. While waiting for his response, she assessed the situation. The man on the rider looked like he could have been a bit taller than her while standing, and he looked relatively young. She hoped that if it called for it, she would be able to best him in a duel.

As the Rider on the Pegasus slowed, Alwin felt relieved.... yet at the same time, he was rather nervous. The only real combat experience he had was with small time bandits when he was a mercenary. He never took on someone that he thought to be military trained, but if he wanted to help his country, he couldnt let that stop him.
"I.... I can't let you tell anyone that you saw me!" He said, raising his lance, before taking a deep breath. "I'll defend Bern to my last breath!" With that. he charged forward.

During all this Rayl and Entourage had ridden out of the fort gates and into the mountains, though the paladin turned back in the saddle as the gates slammed shut to scan the skies. There was Karina, doing what she did best: besides stare at him oddly. and then...well, then that Wyvern rider flew past her, and he could only watch from there.
Did Bernese rebels have scouts out? Messengers calling for help? He'd figured that the Ilian-Occupied Bern would surely refrain from the usage of wyvern, a symbol of power for the controlled Bernese people...Nevertheless he looked back to the archers on the wall, who had been watching the speeding riders nonchalantly until they met their commander's gaze: That rider was not one of theirs. Obviously out of earshot of the two dancing flyers, Rayl called out for the archers line up on the walls, bows in hand, Pheraen banners raised up into the winds, and arrows left unstrung for the time being but nevertheless conveniently on hand: surely the sight of an alerted fort was enough to attract their attention.

Sascha pulled up, but with the extra weight to two passengers, Karina ended up having to block Alwin's blow with her lance. "I do not wish to fight you," Karina said in a kind manner, "but I will not stand here and allow you to harm my Sascha!" She had Sascha circle around, while at the same time angling toward the fort. Karina kept her eye on the wyvern rider, hoping he would give up if they got to close.

This midair battle was too much for the young, blind man. So Ralph remained quiet so that Karina could concentrate. He could call Caecus to attack the wyvern rider (He was able to tell by the sound of the wings), but Caecus was still delivering the message to Bill. He could do nothing but continue to give Karina silent support.

As the thrust of his lance was deflected, Alwin braced for a counterattack but...... none came. The Pegasus Knight just avoided him, continuing to retreat towards the fort. He was ready to give chase when he spotted Archers along the fortress walls, ready to tear his poor Karen to ribbons if he got within range. "D-damnit..... this isn't good."
There was nothing he could do now. He had to let her go, but before he retreated, he noticed the colors of the banners upon the fortress. They definitely werent Illian. Perhaps she was actually telling the truth.
Alwin felt slightly embarassed. He couldnt be sure of her true intent, but he was starting to believe he had overreacted. Whats worse... his action.... could have caused Bern more harm than good. If Pharae were to brand Bern an enemy.... oh dear.
He held his ground, staying out of the reach of the arrows, but also within plain sight. Perhaps he could patch things over with them if he apologized...... He could only hope.
