Nathaniel had wante to visit the port of Korid his whole life. The place his parents had met, a little over nineteen years ago. He walked into the usual tavern inn combination. He grabbed a bottle of brandy, flipping a copper coin to the bar tender. He had a seat near a window, looking out at the calm skies. But with life just as the skies, there is always a calm before the storm.
Nathaniel was about halfway through the bottle, as the dark clouds set upon the port. Nathaniel was about halfway through the bottle, as the Ship with the Cyclops on the front set upon the port.

Nathaniel noticed the ship before the other tavern patrons seemed to.It came out of a shroud of mist, and dominated the sea scape. Most of the other ships were only minor trade ships, plus a few pirate ships, peaceful at present of course. The giant black ship's Cyclops front made it through the mist first. The ship took it's time docking, making all necessary adjustments. Nathaniel balanced the brandy with hard gin. Hard gin. Both tasks were accomplished at around the same time.
The half drunk Nathaniel made his way down the misty Grey green landscape of the hill leading down the docks. Luckily there was a path of cobblestones to used as a path. Redundant but Nathaniel's mind was a group of redundancies. H went to the dock in order to pick a fight. Seriously. He hadn't smiled due to remembering his aggression as a soldier. The way he was going to try and get threw it was, drinking, women, and fighting. Cure being a soldier, by what a soldier does. Maybe Nathaniel would even become a pirate with the men here.
Nathaniel and a large pirate stepped onto the planks of the dock at the same time. There was a trail of planks all the pirates of the ship would have to walk to reach the main dock. They were probably, Nathaniel assumed, pirates. The man walked forward, Nathaniel blocked his way. The big man looked down, "Move." A gruff angry voice said. Nathaniel replied, "No." The man picked up Nathaniel, bringing him high enough that the two were eye to eye. The man said, "Listen holy man, I go to mass every time I have the chance. Many priests have told me when a raid or battle is a bad move. Now, I give you the same advice." He dropped the monk.
"Bad move," Nathaniel said. Th smaller man punched him in the stomach. The man took a step back. He gathered himself then swung for Nathaniel's head. Nathaniel sidestepped just fast enough. He heard the wind as the man's fist went by. Nathaniel rammed his shoulder into the other man, sending him back a few steps. Nathaniel followed. He kicked the man in the shin. Then brought his knee into the mans stomach. The man couldn't recover fast enough, and Nathaniel sent a hay-maker to his left temple. The man fell knocked out as the rain from the black clouds fell.

Now around this time the other pirates were coming off the ship, and they thought there companion was going to have to give an unfit holy-man a thrashing, sadly, Nathaniel, even drunk was a soldier holy-man. He had no problem beating a simple brawler. About forty brawlers might be a problem. Luckily Nathaniel was just drunk enough to make a snide comment as opposed to apologizing or talking his way out of it. He said as a man about his size came onto the docks, "Well shiver me timbers, your friend seems unconscious."

Long Story Short as Nathaniel and three Pirates left the Prison Infirmery the following morning. Nathaniel found out the guy a little taller than him who Nathaniel had sarcastically commented, was the Captain of the Pirates. Nathaniel's generaly annoying self had made sure to impose himself onto the Captain, who ended up enjoying the Monks Company, even offered hm part of the Treasure he had buried on the Island, Nathaniel after being punched fo mentioning the obvious cliche, respectfully declined. Then the Pirate offered him a Ride Back to the Main Land, in Etruria. So Nathaniel took the ride, but placed a small book in a shelf of the Korid Library before he left.
