"It seems those scum weren't the only ones we killed. There's more of them, and they're raiding the town. Hm...it looks like they're killing the townsfolk. I wonder how they got in when the gates were closed..." Alex said as he pondered over how all of this could have happened.
"We should probably do something about this, actually, and quickly too. The bandits have burnt a few more buildings, look!" Alex exclaimed as he pointed out to what looked like a stable being burnt down.

Lilith woke up from all the shouting. "Arg, how am I supposed to get any beauty sleep with all of these bandits!" she got up and grabbed her tome. "Let be quick about this, shall we?" she said sleepily. She ran away from the town, down the hill, and turned back to go towards the gates. When the others had followed, she stood still, looking at the still-closed, thirty-foot high gate.
"Sooo... Any ideas?" she asked the company.

Following quickly and quietly behind the mage that seemed to be the figurehead of the group, Abe thought through the possibilities of opening the gate. Once he stopped in front of it, he walked forward, and gently placed his hand on the massive door. He shut his eyes and thought for a few moments, fighting sleep all the while, and yawned heavily.
Obviously, someone had made it into the town without the gates being opened. That, or the attack was coming from someone who was already in town, and if that was the case, Abe figured their small group was in for some trouble. As he heard more screams and the sound of buildings beginning to crumble, the young man decided it was time to think fast, and also time to think on his feet.
First, he joked. "We could knock." Of course, Abe knew that wouldn't work, and didn't even turn around to see the group's reaction. Then suddenly, Abe had an almost brilliant idea, and he smiled brightly, turning around to the group.
Untying his belt, Abe removed his waist cloak, then the top part of his tunic, revealing a plain white shirt underneath. He lengthened his waist cloak out, then tied an end of that onto the end of his tunic, forming a makeshift rope that only looked high enough to reach to top wall of the gate. He smiled, pleased with himself, then earnestly turned towards the group.
"Does anyone have a knife?"

Alexis looked at the newcomer with a smile. A new person joining the group to help. Such perfect timing - it was actually really perfect. Alexis isn't really that talented in close-combat as all she can do with that staff is either bonk them on the head many times or heal others.
As the newcomer mentioned knocking, she raised an eyebrow at that ridiculous suggestion. Of course, the way the man said it sounded like it was a joke - so she took it as one. As the man started to semi-undress, she blinked and turned to the group as she fiddled with her brilliant staff. The staff was heavy to hold, but she was getting used to it.
She hopped on Elda and petted it gently. "I have a horse, if that helps?" She asked - horses were fast to travel on so it would be reasonable to use if they were to save them with hurry.

Lilith paced a bit, knowing that because they had no thief in their party, getting in would be all the harder. She stopped and snapped her fingers together. She knew that her magic could be used to manipulate the natural forces of gravity and pressure, so she thought, perhaps, she could condense part of the gate to such a high density, it would reduce its size by a lot, leaving a hole for them to climb through.
Lilith walked over to the gate and put her hand on it, mentally sensing it for any spells. She also felt the grain of the wood, knowing it would help to conserve her energy if she worked with the fibers instead of against them. She mouthed a rough spell, weaving a curtain of darkness over the gate.
An area about the size of herself was enveloped in darkness, and she began her work. Minutes passed, her silence no testament to the strain and energy she was putting into the gate, pushing on its outsides and core. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the blackness faded. A super-dense block of wood fell from the gate, leaving a hole large enough for them to crawl through.
Lilith fell to her knees, panting heavily. "Ahh... D-did it work?" she said before she passed out.

Thankfully, Vasser undid his knot. It was a relief, not having to climb all the way over the wall and figure out how to let them in. The young man figured it was probably too difficult a task for him to handle anyway... or rather, that he was too lazy to handle something like that, simple or no. Abe chuckled quietly, yawned heavily once more, scratched his armpit, and proceeded to the newly-opened hole in the door. Talk about improvisation. Curiously, Abe looked down at the now-passed-out younger mage, Lilith, whose name Abe had surprisingly almost forgotten until now. Yup, she was pretty out of it indeed... Abe screwed his face up, examining her as she lay passed out on the ground, and he yawned again. Without a word, he poked her face, testing to see if she was really out of it.
After musing around with his unconscious companion, Abe looked forward, through the hole, before he climbed in. The town was indeed in chaos, and moreover, the citizens were going absolutely frantic. Whoever was causing such trouble was clearly no band of common thieves or bandits, but a larger group, one with the capacity-- and average ability, if one could call it that-- to burn down buildings and send an entire town into a malicious frantic. Abe examined the situation, decided it would probably be more than he could handle, and climbed through the hole anyway.
Once he was about out, he remembered Lilith, then turned around in the hole, climbed out to the gate-side of the hole, and grabbed Lilith by the arms. Being not physically very strong, he carelessly dragged her up to the hole, yanked her up by her arms, and pulled her through the hole with him. He let her fall with a thud, then checked to make sure he hadn't hurt her too terribly bad. Abe knew he was a clutz, and he also knew he was generally very careless. He yawned.

Lilith found herself standing back in the labyrinth, alone. She called out for the others who had been there at that time, but the only answer were her own calls, echoing off the empty walls. She saw a shadow flicker out of the corner of her eye. Curious, she followed it, weaving around corners without knowing where she was going.
After what felt like an eternity, she came to the opening of the maze. It was the part where they had not gotten, and lead to a large stone door. She walked up to the door and touched it. A dark energy flew from her hand without a command, and the door swung open on oiled hinges, leading to the room beyond.
The room was well lit, and at its center was a stand. On the stand was a humble-looking book. A shadow hovered above the book, pulsing darkly. The shadow shifted, and took shape. High, echoing laughter filled the room. Laughter like her own, if not a few notes deeper, as though heard through a tunnel.
When the laughter stopped, Lilith looked at the shadow. Only it was no longer a shadow but, sitting on top of the Book of Scrying, her. Well, not exactly her. This Lilith had all-purple hair, and dilated eyes. She wore a wicked grin on her face, and her eyebrows were slanted fiercely. The most unnerving part of her was her skin. It was laced with black veins, dark and sinister.
"Hello there. Remember me?" the dark Lilith asked.
"Erm... Not really," Lilith replied.
"You forget to easily. remember those days? Those wonderful times when you were on your own, lost in me? Lost in power, in glorious darkness? Did you think I would so easily let you go? Did you really think the wave of some has-been's staff would get rid of me? No, it only temporarily treated your soul sickness. I was swept aside, like a common cobweb. But here I am, better than ever. Your need to be good created me. I am what you could be. I am Arum Lily."
Lilith stood still as Lily stepped off her pedestal. "I- You're not-"
"Shh, simple girl. You tried to help your friends, and you failed... Now, let me try." Arum Liliy touched Lilith's chest, and Lilith felt the flash of pain, and then... weightlessness. Like she had been lifted away. Then she felt the crushing black of a confined space, like she was being crushing into a jar. Then everything went black...
Arum Lily woke up. She stood up, control the body of Lilith. The body they shared. She let her hair turn purple, and made her eyes dilate to better see in the darkness. Then she let her power flow through the mortal body she held, bringing forth black veins across the pale skin of Lilith. Arum Lily was here, and ready to make some magic.

Alex followed Abraham and wen through the hole in the gate to enter the town. He watched as he saw more explosions and screams. Poor people, poor, poor people.
He looked at Lilith. Something weird was happening to her, He could see a dark aura surrounding her. Noticing Abraham still holding on to her, Alex pushed him out of the way. Stupid boy, he had no sense! Did he not know how dangerous dark magic was? But forget about danger or screaming or fire, all Alexander wanted to see was to spectacle happening before him.
He watched as Lilith's body changed colour... her skin looked more pale now, her lipps looked purple, her hair was turning purple, and strange marks were beginning to form on her face. As the aura grew grew stronger, Alexander had to shield his face from that immense force- what astounding power!
And then, the aura seized, and a new person emerged. This was not Lilith, Alex could tell. This was a stronger, no-nonsense magic user standing before him.
He asked in a curious tone, " Who might you be, friend."

The sights of the mortal world, the smells, they were so wonderful. being in a body once more made Arum Lily high with euphoria. Her inner joy was broken when a gruff voice addresses her. She turned about to face the man, smiling a horrible, knowing smile. The memories borrowed from her host body told her that this was Alecto, a strange sort of magician. Her own memories and sense told her that the poor girl was fooled. This man was no human.
"Asked, always with the questions, you silly mortals. Ask first, react later. Do you really want to know who I am?"Lily reached out and stroked Alecto's beard. She then summoned a ball of darkness and willed it to circle him. "Now, There is a lot in a name. I'm not sure if I can trust you with mine. There is fun to be had, now, let us fight the ruffians in this village, then maybe I will tell you who I am."

The girl had become strange. It was like a total reverse of her original persona. The girl Alexander knew was some innocent, power-hungry yet lazy girl who knew almost nothing about the world. This one was different- She too was powerhungry, but in a disturbing way. She was probably quick-witted too, and loved violence. Heck, that odd demonstration of power was enough to get Alexander on his guard- he was not going to allow anyone, especially a human, overpower him.
"I see we think similar, whoever you are. However, if we're going to be talking more, I'll need something to call you by." Alex paused, and frowned. He was probably sounding foolish here. Why was he interacting with these humans, even helping these townsfolk in the first place? He was not supposed to be involved in such things.
" Forget what I said, darkling. We're both on our own to do what we want." Alexander said before running into town. He would not accept a human's help, and definetly find some bandits to munch on. Human flesh... it would be a very long time since he last feasted on humans.

Arum Lily ignored Alecto's blood-lust, though admirable, this man was too young to know what she had wrought in past bodies. She approached a downed man, mortally wounded, and bend down to his level. "Look into my eyes. Be in my eyes." she told him.
"Are you here to help me?" he asked, scared looking.
"Shh, It will all be okay," she said in her echoing voice, "now, look into my eyes." She lifted him by his shirt and kissed him, draining what little life he had left and adding it to her own energy stores.
She sighed, like she had just had a refreshing drink, and moved closer to the melee. So much chaos... She summoned a ball of darkness and threw it into the fray. The ball hit the ground and exploded, releasing dark energy everywhere, hurting all those around it, friend or foe. "Run and catch, run and catch, the lamb is caught in the blackberry patch."

Alex ran as far as he could, as he heard a blast from where he was running. He could see dark energy spiralling upwards...man she was good.
He checked his surroundings. No one was watching, and if the girl could recognize his power, then there really was no harm in transforming. Alex clenched his fists as he tried to release some of his energy... he was transforming.. first the arms, turning into the colour of his hair- maroon. Then they became scaly, and he started growing a long tail. Almost on the verge of transforming, Alex touched his dragonstone with his hand and then there was a sudden flash of light, huge gusts of wind blowing.
When the dust cleared, a huge lizard like thing looked beyond. Large, Black wings with shaded of green in between, while almost the whole body was maroon in colour. Its eyes were so dark, one could not notice the pupils at all. Alex had awoken- this was his dragon form, eager to kill.
Alex scanned around for signs of enemies. In dragon form, Alex lost most of reason, and it was more primitive thinking...the hunger to eat and kill people. To taste blood.
Alex whipped his tail at a building, actually the pub, sending its top half crashing on to the houses nearby. He watched as people screamed out of fear and agony... and he gave a wretched smile. It was time to kill.
He flew about 20 metres above ground and then swooped down, taackling many people as he grabbed two men. Judging by their appearance, they were workers in a blacksmith. Alex just squeezed the life out of them and then popped them into his mouth like how a person would eat peanuts or popcorn. But just as one peanut or popcorn doesn't satisfy a person when he's hungry, Alex wasn't satisfied either. He was hungry for more flesh.

Lily took a break from her work to watch the newly-transformed Alecto. His form was the perfect example of raw power, one that even she, in all her magical might, had envy for. "Glorious." she said to herself, "I should have taken his body, instead of this measly mortal's. Alas, if only he had used magic like she did."
Speaking of the mortal who she entrapped, Lily looked at the girl's tattered, weak book. The tome barely move at all, a sign of truly beginner's magic. She rummaged around in the wreck of a house that had been hit by a tavern. She stole energy from another dying mortal, this one a woman, and then found what she was looking for. A blank book rest in her hands, an empty journal of sorts. Calling upon the magic that she herself was part of, Lily started to chant in a language only the darkest spirits knew, she laid down a complex spell.
The pages flipped rapidly, and runes appeared in the book. The book flashed and transformed, become a tome of might. When Lily was done, a Luna tome now rested in her hands, shaking more than the Flux tome that she had bound at her waist.
Arum Lily laughed her sinister laugh, then turned to the fray. She felt a sort of banging in her skull, like someone had a hammer and was going to town on her. Lily cursed the mortal body she was in and staggered to her knees. She felt a strange, weightless sensation as the world blurred around her. She did a quick spellcheck to make sure the mortal girl's soul was still bound to her core, and found that all was well. The throbbing continued for a minute more, then passed. The way her possession worked, the mortal girl could see all she did. They sort of shared a consciousness, but it was Lily who had control over their body. It was sort of a fun little torture she invented for the magician who kindly summoned her.
The throbbing soon ceased, and Arum Lily ran back to fight, her dark mind scheming over how she would kill her next victims.

Alex snarled as he whacked a few building with his tail, sending the rubble crashing. He picked up an old man, and with all his power, slammed him on to the ground. The poor man's body broke into pieces with such force.
Alex turned to find many axe-wielding humans. So they were those pesky bandits? Well, it looked like he was going to have some little fun.
Alex flew up high, soaring near one of them. The bandit couldn't react fast, and within second, Alex was munching on tasty bandit flesh. Yum yum.
Seeing one of their kin fall, two other brainless bandits came charging, trying to hack into Alex. But alex's scaled were tough, and these were weak scum, with no skill whatsoever. Alex just whipped his tail, sending them flying and crashing into a building.

Arum Lily drove a blade of darkness through another civilian. watching his blood wet the ground appeased her, but she grew bored. Yes, this was chaos, and was her favorite thing to cause, but it was too... obvious. She felt as though simply killing random innocents was not in-depth enough for her reputation. With a flick of her wrist, the sword apparition vanished, and she instead moved her attention to the part of the wall she was near.
Gathering energy around both of her hands, she summoned the power of the moon and grew a great ball of darkness before her. She directed the flow of energy and willed the ball to crash into the wall. A great hole was blown in it, large enough for three men to walk through at the same time. Lily smiled and waled through the hole. She took one more look at the devastation of the village, smiled, and disappeared into the forest.
