The symphony ended as Yaen's blade plunged into Melvin's chest, leaving only silence. Sweet, calming silence. The silence was broken by a deafening roar that drowned out Wein's warning. Looking up in surprise, Yaen could not see what hit him, only feel the crushing pain that sent him staggering down to a knee. The world went hazy. Everything seemed to be a blur. Then the world darkened, and everything turned to black as the swordmaster passed from concsciousness.

Mana peeked outside, hand in the sword hilt, leaning against the wall. She needed to make sure that no one would enter the room and attack Wein after she left. She knew the Ostian archer would be able to take care one or two enemies, but he might want to avoid close combat. Also, he seemed to be preoccupied by something. She could stay inside with him for a little while to rest her tired body, but she just heard a shout from outside which couldn't be ignored. "It's just me or we have another guest here?" she thought. Taking a small step outside, she started to looked around. It was then she suddenly heard another loud sound from the hallway.
Mana heard another loud sound, she quickly rushed toward where Zelphiam and the mercenaries talked. When she saw the blonde swordman, she hoped he wasn't injured. "Looking for me? Here! I am here, morons!" Sheating her sword, Mana taunted the mercenaries, hoping it would divert their attentions from the blonde swordman. It worked, they saw her, the one they were looking for. "You! Take care of this blondie. The girl is mine!" A mercenary turned to face Mana, leaving the other two with Zelphiam. He bolted toward the girl, bringing his sword to a low sweep toward her legs. Mana dodged it by jumping, also giving the mercenary a kick into his head.
When the mercenary stumbled backward, Mana kicked the floor as soon as she landed. The mercenary could barely defended himself againt her, he parried her first attack using his sword. Seeing her attack was failed, the swordgirl prepared the next attack. Leaping toward the mercenary, Mana then stabbed him at his forehead. "Who is yours?" she said.
-------
Melvin couldn't feel anyhing except that his headbutt connected with the man before him. Smirking, he closed his eyes. And then Wein's arrow ended his life, piercing his temple.

Zelphiam didn't have time to really get a good look at who had just come out and get the attention of the other mercenary he had two other ones to deal with. As the two began to rush Zelphiam he quickly moved around them his back now facing the direction where the other mercenary had just gone. He then took this moment to look behind him to see who had just helped him. It was a brown haired girl who helped him. Now his attention went back to the mercenaries who were charging at him. As one of them swung their sword at Zelphiam he easily blocked the attack and then went for a counterattack by then swing at the man's side. Luckily for the mercenary his friend had gotten in the way and blocked the attack for him.
Zelphiam now had to block attacks coming from of the mercenaries in front of him. It wasn’t that tough for him every attack they swung at him was blocked. One attack though managed to skin his check drawing a little blood but this still agitated Zelphiam. Zelphiam did though have a hard time keeping up with their movements and has a result got cut on his arm and right below his knee. As the mercenary behind him went for a stab to the head, Zelphiam quickly blocked the attack by knocking the mercenaries blade upwards. The blonde myrmidon then grabbed hold of the mercenary’s hand and pulled him close to himself. He then plunged his sword deep in the man’s chest killing him.
Zelphiam had to move quickly as the other mercenary swung his sword at him. He dodged the attack and the blade went into the floor board getting stuck. Zelphiam took this as his opportunity to strike so he stabbed the man in the chest piercing his heart. He slowly pulled out his blade wiped the blood off on the wall and placed his blade back into its sheath and turned around to the girl as the man dropped to the ground.
“Thank you for assisting me ms,” Zelphiam said as he made a slight bow. He noticed that the girl was wounded and figured that she was the one that the mercenaries were looking for.
“Are you alright ms?” Zelphiam asked not really caring but didn’t want to be impolite to a person who had just helped him.

Wein watched aghast as Melvin and Yaen simultaneously fell to the ground, one dead and the other hopefully not so. Neither, however, were moving, and the archer couldn't help but be worried. A blow like that could fracture a man's neck, seeing as how Yaen dropped unconcious and a fractured neck could mean paralysis, or even worse: death. Wein didn't think either of those were satisfactory options, especially not after his own wonderful shot. Right to the temple. Quite the bulls-eye.
Hurriedly, Wein bolted through the doorway, brushing past Mana and a blond man he had never seen before talking to her. No matter. He could assess the new person situation later. "I'm going to go help Yaen," he blurted as he started down the stairs. He knocked an arrow and fired it into the face of one of the three remaining bandits scrambling up the stairs while kicking another in the face. The first slumped down dead while the other tumbled backwards tripping the third. No skill in that. Point blank shots were easy. "Let's go."

Pulling out her sword, Mana realized that the crack in her sword had become bigger. She should buy a new sword soon, a sword was the life of a warrior, if it was broken then her life would follow, that was what her teacher said. The swordgirl then swung her sword, the blood that covering her sword splattering to the floor.
"You're welcome. And don't worry. I am fine," she replied, panting. Mana then looked at the bodies of the dead mercenaries. She had watched how Zelphiam handled them, he was quite skilled. The swordgirl was interested to challenge him to a duel, but now wasn't the right time to do it. "I don't know who you are. But it seems we can use your help. By the way, I am Mana."
Wein suddenly rushed toward the stairs and said he were going to help Yaen. "Yaen!!!" Fighting with those mercenaries, she had forgotten about the fellow Sacaen. Did he still fight the big man outside? "We talk later. Now, I must go downstairs to help my friend," she said to Zelphiam. The swordgirl quickly followed Wein, when the archer fired his arrow, Mana jumped onto the railing and slid down. She gripped her sword hilt tightly, as she passed the two mercenaries who were busy keeping their balances, she made sure to give them a quick slash before she arrived at the end of the railing.
"I will go first," she shouted without looking back. There was no mercenaries to stop her, those mercenaries in the stairs were probably the last. Good, she wanted it ended. As soon as she reached the exit, she prepared her sword and assessed the situation. After she made sure no enemies left, she started to look for Yaen.
"Yaen, where are you?" She called his name as she searched for him. It didn't take long before she found him unconscious on the ground. "There you are." She rushed toward him and sheathed her sword. Kneeling beside him, she placed her ears on his chest. "Good. I can hear his heartbeat." Looking at his face, she tried to find away to wake him. "Can you hear me, Yaen? Wake up! You aren't dead, are you?" she said as she slapped his cheek.

Yaen groaned a little, feeling something hard hit his cheek. Slowly, he cracked his eyelids to look at Mana. "Why would you slap a man who might have a concussion?" he groaned. "So...did we win?"

"Yeah we won," replied Wein, striding over to his injured, but mostly alive friend. "In a large part thanks to you." The archer stared at the dead Melvin's head, his feather arrow poking out from his skull. Right to the temple. Quite the shot if he did say so himself, but it was a shame it had to come to this. Why was everyone always trying to kill each other? The lives, property, and energy that could be saved through civil discourse.
"Glad you're alright," said Wein, sighing as he crouched down next to Yaen. "At least you're not dead, anyway. I was worried for the worst. Thought maybe that brute had broken your neck or something."

"You' re alive!" Mana hugged Yaen full of joy, she was happy knowing Yaen was still alive. But then she quickly released him when she realized that she was doing embarassing thing, and in front of Wein too. Blushing, she got up to her feet and tried to act like nothing happened. "Ye-Yeah, we won. It's not easy but we managed to survive. And..." Mana glanced at Melvin, now the mercenary leader and his underlings would not threaten the town anymore. "It seems you got a strong opponent." Mana didn't know how strong this man was, but he was a leader, he might be very strong.
Still having red face, Mana turned her face so they couldn't see it. She then moved toward Melvin's blade, curious. "It looks heavy," she thought. The swordgirl tried to lift it with one hand, but she could barely move it. Slightly angry to herself, she tried again using both hands. Because she was still exhausted, she could not muster enough strength to lift it and eventually gave up. "Ugh, I know I am not good with big swords."

Zelphiam slowly followed Mana has he wasn't sure what he was going to be walking into so he was just being cautions. He was shocked to see the ground floor of the tavern looked as if a large battle took place. He figured that Mana and her friends were probably quite skilled and she could possibly teach him a thing or two. As Zelphiam stepped outside he took a quick scan of the area. Two men lying on the ground Mana and another man standing over one with smiling faces. Zelphiam figured that the other man lying on the ground had fought the other man and lost.
"Could someone please tell me what has happened here?" Zelphiam asked as he walked a bit closer to Mana and the two other men.

Mana almost forgot about the blonde guy, she was distracted by Yaen and this heavy blade. She gave it a last try before gave up eventually and turned toward Zelphiam. Now, she could lower her guard, it seemed it was over. Honestly, she felt exhausted, she might have used all her stamina in this battle, only the adrenaline and strong willpower that pushed her over her limit. Taking a deep breath, Mana enjoyed every bit of air that entered her lungs, sending more oxygen to her brain. It felt nice.
"Uh...It's a long story." She didn't know how to explain it to Zelphiam without wasting too much time. "We fought against bad guys," she said. Anyone might think her explanation to be very short, but that was the best she could say, the swordgirl wasn't good at explaining something. "Anyway, thank you for earlier. You seems pretty skilled with sword," she said.

OoC: Yaen's gone so I'm timeskipping to Etruria after this post.
"Can't say I saw you fight, but thanks for the help," said Wein to the blond haired man as he pulled his Sacaen friend to his feet. Heck, Yaen was a fair bit heavier than he looked, though considering the black haired swordsman was made purely of lean muscle, it wasn't surprising. After all, muscle weighed more than fat.
"I say it would probably best to get out of here, though," said the Ostian archer, grunting a bit under the weight of his friend. Wein was no slouch when it came to physical fitness, but he wasn't exactly the heavy lifting sort. "I don't really want to stick around for Nuwa's grandfather to show up, or something like that. If the pattern holds, I'd imagine he'd be eight feet tall and wielding a sword bigger than Mana."

"Yeah no problem," Zelphiam said to the brown haired man he really didn't notice at first. Zelphiam then began thinking if he saw any value of being with these people. He did see a value in maybe traveling with the girl as it seemed she could Zelphiam a thing or two. That's all he wanted was to become stronger he really didn't care all that much for these people but he wasn't just going to give up an opportunity like this.
Nuwa? Who was that and what did his grandfather had to do with anything. Nothing was making any sense to Zelphiam but he really didn't care if trouble was coming he'd rather face it then run but these people were going to move he might as well go for the ride.
"Hey mind if I tag along with you people. I've got no were else to go and I'd wouldn't mind being of assistance to you all if you need it," Zelphiam said. He really didn't care but he wanted to end his boredom.

"That's...impossible, right?" she said, surprised. Wein might be joking, but Mana took it seriously. She imagined Nuwa's grandfather come with bigger sword. "It will be nightmare." Although the swordgirl always liked to have chance to test her skill, this time she was too tired to have another round. And her sword had bigger crack than before, clashing with a bigger blade would probably shatter it.
"Yeah, you're welcome to tag along." she said to the blonde swordman. "And can you carry this blade for me, please?" Mana gestured to Melvin's blade. Although she knew that the heavy blade wasn't suitable for her, she wanted to have it and learn how to use it. Well, she could sell it for a good price if she failed to master it. "It's heavy."
"So, are we going?" she asked.
