"I don't care how we are arranged as long as I'm not going to be annoyed," Zelphiam said as he then looked to Mana. He had totally forgot about her and blushed a bit, he was pretty sure that Mana wouldn't want to bathe with them. He then glared at Xavier it seemed this man was in deep thought about something and Zelphiam was interested. His intrest quickly left him and went back to the situation on hand.
"Whatever we decided to do let's do it fast I got all sorts of leaves and dirt in my clothes," Zelphiam added his tone sounding a tad annoyed and cold.
A bath would be a good time to relax and think about his plans. Zelphiam wanted to figure out what he was truly doing with Wein and Mana. He also wanted to think of a plan to deal with his family and his father who seemed to have gone missing due to his mother's last letter he received.

OoC: I'm just going to skip over the baths in this post. You all can do stuff with them in your next post, or something.
BiC:
"Alright. Well, there's two wash rooms down that way," Aaron said, pointing towards the rooms he'd been to earlier, "and I doubt you'd be inclined to share, after you saw them." The washtubs were not particularly oversized. It made it quicker to fill them up, at least. "Just give me a holler when you're ready. Oh, and watch the walls, they're somwhat... thin." He laughed a bit, remembering that little fact.
He returned to his study of the light tome, eventually recognizing several key similarities between the Fire tome of Anima, and Lightning of the Light magic branch. Something was still missing from his understanding though. A key component. Twice he went off, and heated the water tubs. And again for the remaining baths. He thought on the lightning tome the whole while, tried to put together every little aspect of knowledge that he had surrounding it, and still couldn't figure on what made it work. He couldn't explain it. What powered it? He felt like he'd done everything short of blindly trying the spell, when he spoke up.
"I just don't get it. I've recognized modifiers, triggers, and key shaping points to this type of magic, but I simply can't figure what it is that powers it. Where does the power even come frome.... T-Things don't work without some sort of explanation. Even dark spells have a power source, though it defies understanding. This... This has nothing!" He closed the book and stood up from the chair he'd been in, tossing it back on the cushions.
Something was really eating at him. He'd recognized so much. Identified triggers and shaping formulae. He still couldn't make it work. The green-haired sage stood, one hand on his hip, the other cupping his chin in thought, as he stared out the large set of windows to the outside.

"Me first!" Mana said it with a cheerful tone as she began to jog toward the bathroom, she grinned at her companions, feeling like she just won something. She understood that she would get a bathroom all for herself, those two might be going to share the other one or decide who would go in first. The myrmidon got to the washroom very quickly (because she's running), Mana then peeped inside, there was a tub, which was enough for a person to fit in. Taking a step inside, she began to feel nervous. It was the first time she took a bath inside a building, a someone's house. In her travel, she always took a bath in a river because she didn't like the small bathrooms in the inns.
"Ah, maybe it's good. I shouldn't complain too much. I am lucky enough to be able to wash myself," she muttered to herself while undoing her ponytail. When her hair fell to her shoulder, Mana noticed that her hair had grown longer. "Of course, it has been a few months since I left Sacae," she thought. "Which means, I am already 17 now. Hehe, now I will not be called kid anymore." She laughed, but soon her expression darkened. Sacae, remembering it made her sad somehow, the home that she had been longing for, a tribe that had been perished. The only thing that stopped her from going back there was her fear to see the remains of her tribe, the burned tents and corpses. Sighing, she forced a smile, not wanting to look depressed when she came out of the bathroom. Maybe, she would go back someday, if she had mustered enough courage. Then, she started taking off her clothes, she also kicked the door lightly to shut it.
Mana got into the tub, the water was hot which made her comfortable at the instant her toes touched the water. The relaxing jolt went through from her feet to her head. The swordgirl liked cold water but maybe taking bath with hot water wasn't a bad idea sometimes, it helped her relax. The accumulated fatique gradually left her body, this made her sleepy. Looking at the thin wall, she then tried to give it a light knock to test it. Judging by the sound, the wall was really thin like Aaron said. "I hope it won't break..." she said as she leaned against the wall. "It feels nice."

Zelphiam figured he'd go in the other one since Wein didn't seem to jump at the opportunity. He watched as the Aaron left and couldn't help but think of his father as he left, oh how he hated his family he cursed the name Rinko. It never made sense to him how his mother stayed with that man. The blonde haired myrmidon quickly shook his head to get the thought of his family out of his head. He then began walking to the wash room. He followed the same path that Mana did and took note to the amount of doors he saw. Maybe one of these held untold treasures. He doubted it though probably just empty rooms.
"Wow it's bigger than I thought," Zelphiam said sarcastically as he walked into the bath room. The tub was smaller than he though and the green haired man was right it probably was best they didn't share it. He sat on the floor and took of one of his boots, flipped it over and tapped on the sole of his shoe knocking some rocks and dirt out of his boot.
Zelphiam then undressed and got into the tub. The water was relaxing but it was a tad to hot for him but he got used to it. His eyes then closed and his mind went to a happier place. A open filled with a single tree where he would sit below its branches leaned up against its trunk just watching the wind blow the grass back and forth. It was simple but it was his paradise a place where he could just sit and relax. He would then go from under the tree and lie on the soft comfortable grass and watch clouds fly by and observe the blue sky.
"This is nice," He said to himself. As he said that though he remembered where he was and what kind of situation he was in. His small smile disappeared and a depressing frown took its place. Zelphiam then leaned his head on the edge of the tub and let out a small sigh. He wondered what his idol, Calnith, was up to. Zelphiam desperately wanted to train with that man he was a great swords master and he could learn a lot from him. To bad he could never find and catch Calnith that man always seemed to disappear when he would get close to finding him or when he needed him the most like his father. This upset Zelphiam and he slammed his fist on the wall. As he did that he remembered the walls where thin and Mana probably felt that.
"Sorry about that," He said his voice low and depressed. He hoped he wasn't bothering Mana.

(OoC: Aaron stated in his last post that he came back to heat the bathtubs, Zelph and Mana)
Wein put a fist on his hip as his two companions made their way into the two available washrooms. Looks like he'd have to wait his turn. Watching Aaron as he made his way into both of the rooms to heat up the baths, the archer followed the mage out of the hallway. His green haired compatriot seemed to have his face buried in a book. Must be good reading, Wein surmised, a rueful smile on his face. It had been ages since the Ostian had the time to sit down and read a book. Long gone were the endless hours spent in his personal library, sifting through new books every day. No, these days he was always traipsing from place to place, so he didn't have access to much reading, and his money was put towards food, drink, and bed. If he did manage to get his hands on a book, the only time he'd have to read it would be after dark, and it was exceedingly hard to read a book by the light of a campfire.
The Ostian approached Aaron from behind as he tossed the book aside, the bound pages landing in the pillow cushions. Ah, maybe the reading wasn't so good. "Studying?" asked Wein, his head cocked to the side. "Judging by the look on your face, you can't quite seem to get your head wrapped around something, am I right?" He strode over to the chair and reached down, picking the book up off of the seat. It was a light magic tome. Lightning to be more specific. He had one of these back home. "Ah, I get it. Mastering new magical frontiers. I can imagine that would be frustrating." Wein opened the cover and flipped through the pages. "I wasn't born with a knack for magic, but light magic always seemed to be more straight forward than the others. Ugh, don't even get me started on elder magic." He snapped the book closed and look back over to Aaron, who was currently gazing out the window. "Perhaps you're looking at it from the wrong perspective?"

Aaron turned after a moment, on hearing Wein. He very well could be looking at it all wrong..., but he'd figure so much of the spell out already that it was frustrating to not be able to find the key piece that fueled it. For anima's fire tome, all you needed was an understanding of the forces you were working with, and how to modify them. This light stuff.... What was the anchor, or source for the lightning spell? It acted as if it was done, and he ought to simply use the spell, but without finding the power source, how could it work? It couldn't, could it?
"The green-haired magic user exhaled softly as he turned his mind away from its puzzle for the moment.
"You're probably right Wein. Something just seems to be missing in this spell, and I can't find it.... I didn't know you studied magic." Aaron seemed interested for the moment, even if it also reminded him of the young, blond shamaness he was trying to find.

"Yeoow!" Mana was leaning against the wall when Zelphiam punched the wall. She felt the impact, it felt like a weak bump. For a moment she was confused about what just happened, but then a familiar voice apologized to her from the other side of the wall. "What are you doing there? You surprised me!" She shouted and glared at the wall, wondering what happened in the other side. That surprise attack from Zelphiam had ruined her mood.
"Geez...Don't do that again," she said. Mana let out a sigh as she moved away from the wall which connected with the other bathroom and got up. She was going to wash her hair. Although the sword maiden didn't look like someone who cared much about appearance, she was still a normal girl who always cared for her hair.
"Hey Zelphi..." Mana tried to call the blonde swordman. She felt a bit sorry for scolding him earlier, and she did it even after he apologized. Her pride didn't allow her to say it but this awkwardness shouldn't disturb their peaceful bath time. Maybe bringing a new topic would be good and make her forget about what had happened. "What were you thinking when you said you wanted to go with us? Don't take it wrong, it's not like I dislike having you around me. But, I wanted to know, at least. You must have heard my reason for traveling, so would you tell me about yours? Pursuing a dream or what?"

Zelphiam felt bad for doing what he did but he was still a bit mad. He froze up a bit when she asked him about why he was traveling with them he knew his main goal was to get stronger but that was a lame reason there had to be something else. Zelphiam thought about it for a moment as he sunk down deeper in the bath. The water was extremely relaxing.
"Well I want to become strong, strong enough to beat a man named Calnith and eventually prove to my family that going a different path then the one others want for you is not a disgrace," He said. He then regretted talking about his family as she would probably ask him about his family but he wanted to quickly change the subject to something about her.
"So Mana do you have anyone waiting for you at home?" The blonde haired myrmidon asked trying to change the subject.

"I'm not surprised. Most people don't," Wein chuckled. "I might not look it, but I've studied everything. Geography, history, mathematics, architecture, art, martial combat, magic. You name it, I've probably read at least two books on the subject. Result of being the 'scholar' in a noble family. All the reading material you could ever want, and none of the life experience." The blue coated archer tapped a forefinger to his temple. "But if you're looking for someone to bounce ideas off of, I've got a library between these ears."
The magic tome still in his hand, the Ostian strode over to Aaron. He held the book up to his friend. "I might not be able to feel the spirits swirling around my head, but I'm sure I could be of some help. What's got you stuck?"

Mana continued to comb her hair with her fingers, her hair was soft and straight, it was easy for her fingers to go through. While doing it, she also listened to Zelphiam's story. She chuckled. His reason was same with hers, more or less. The difference was she didn't have someone she wanted to beat. Having a goal, or a rival, would make people stronger, she should consider about it. "Well, we both are pursuing a same dream, maybe we should have a duel later?" she said cheerfully.
Wrong question. Zelphiam surely didn't have any bad intention when he asked, but that was a touchy subject. Did she have anyone waiting her in home? Yes, if she still had home. Her father died when she was still a baby, her mother died in a bandit raid, the same raid that sent her to Lycia, she didn't even know where her foster brother now. She thanked the wall that separated them, the myrmidon didn't like having someone see her sad face.
"No. I don't have." Mana tried to sound cheerful as usual, even forcing a smile to her trembled lips. She had been hiding behind that smile for along time, she didn't have anyone she could share the story with, and she didn't want to. Her true feeling was locked deep inside her heart. "My parents have gone to the sacred plain." The sacred plain, in her tribe culture, and probably in most of Sacaen culture, that place was some kind of "heaven" or "the land of dead people".
After saying that, her legs suddenly felt weak. The girl moved to the corner and sat there, leaning her head to the bath tub. Still smiling, although that was only mask, she started humming a tune. "A song my mother taught me," she muttered to herself in low voice.

Zelphiam immediately felt bad about asking Mana about her parents. He then sunk even lower in the water now holding his breath. He thought he had it bad at least he still had parents, even though one he really didn't know all that much.
"Hey sorry for bring up your parents," Zelphiam began as he listened to Mana's humming. It was a nice tune, it made the blonde haired myrmidon feel a bit better.
"I'd love to duel you sometime whenever you're ready to just give me a holler," He added trying to get their minds off of parents which seemed to be a somewhat touchy subject for the both of them. Zelphiam then figured in be in the bath for a little bit longer before getting out don't want to be in there for too long.

Mana looked at the floor, she began to feel tears filling up her eyes. Wiping her watery eyes with her palm, she then got up to her feet. Shouldn't stay here too long, a dinner waited for her. She got in to the bath tub once again, wanting to clean herself more with the hot water. "Great, it feels very nice..." She washed herself, the water cleaned every part of her body. Later, she used the soap she found near the bath tub then washed the bubble with water.
"Yeah, we could have a good duel. I will tell you when I am ready," she said.
Mana didn't tie her hair as usual, she let her wet hair loose as she dressed. After making sure that all her things wasn't left in the bathroom, the myrmidon dried herself with a towel before stepped out of the bathroom, covering her head with the soft pink towel.
"Wein! I am finished with the bathroom." Mana called the archer, but he couldn't be found near the bathroom. She then went to look for the Ostian scholar, maybe he was waiting impatiently for his turn. Looking around for him, she finally found him talking with the mage. "Oh, he is with Aaron." The green-haired mage had a book in his hand, it made Mana remember about Elias. Her RED friend also had a book, a magical tome he used to cast his crimson flame magic. "Hmm...Aaron's looks different..."
"Hey..." The myrmidon greeted them with a smile, the things in the bathroom had already been forgotten, her cheerful attitude came back, as usual. "What are you two talking about?"

"Heh.... It feels more like they're swirling my head around right now, to be honest, Wein." Aaron laughed a bit with his friend, before trying to decide how he could make the issue clear to the archer.
"Anima mages work off of knowledge and principles. Rules tell us what works, what doesn't, and what should or shouldn't be possible." Aaron started explaining, hoping he was making it understandable enough.
"The most basic anima spells are made up of the elements that effect the spell. Shape it. And then, there's the source of power that's tapped. Anima spells are very fluid, and easily manipulated, which is why its uses are so varied....." Aaron paused, still wondering about the Lightning tome, and its differences.
"With the Lightning spell.... I've identified how the power is harnessed. I've found the methods for tweaking and shaping the spell, but it's not enough. The knowlede is there. It should work, but it's like.... It's like I only have three quarters of a pie."
Aaron laughed at his analogy. He must be getting hungry, but it was true. " After working with magic as much as I have, you get a sense of whether what you're trying will work or not, and some... key component is missing. Something the book doesn't give me."
He reached out and took the book from his friend, and stared down at the detailing on the cover, until he heard a voice speaking to them. Aaron's eyes blinked a bit in surprise as he noticed her standing there, before he turned a somewhat relaxed smile her way.
"Hello, Mana. Wein and I were just talking magic talk. I've been studying light magic recently.... So far, nothing's come of it." It was hard to see the worth in his studies when they seemed to only provide useless knowledge to him.

Xavier had been reading the whole time while the man and the girl, Zelphiam and Mana?, went off to bathe and the mage started up his research on his magic again. Xavier found that he could not peel his eyes off of his book. Somehow, the contents of the book seemed different from the last time that he had read it, though Xavier could not remember any details of the book that he had picked up from the previous read. It was as if the book was alive, and controlling the contents that Xavier could read at any stage.
Even now, the book was shifting. Though Xavier didn't have any recollections of flipping the pages of the book, the contents of the book were shifting, changing, as if the book was being flipped. Xavier had, while reading, also briefly noticed that his arms were right beside him, and that somehow, he had no control over his body anymore. He wasn't even able to control his eyes, which darted rapidly across the pages (or page), as the contents of the book swirled. It was as if Xavier was no longer in his body, as if there was someone else within it, enticing him to sink even deeper into the book.
Xavier himself was deeply engrossed in the book. He lapped up the information that had jumped to him like a dog lapping up his saucer of milk, both eagerly and excitedly. However, it seemed that no matter how interesting the read was, no matter how engrossed Xavier was, Xavier felt that all of the information that he had gained would not stay with him permanently, that they would bleed from him the moment he stopped reading.
OoC: The book is actually somehow levitating in front of Xavier, so Aaron and Wein might notice it. And, I'm planning to make this the premise for Xavier wanting to learn more on Dark Magic, as he feels that knowledge of the art might cause all of the information he had obtained in the book to return.

Aaron wondered to himself a bit more. This Book of Lightning was a puzzle. A frustrating one, but worth figuring out, he was sure.
"Excuse me." Aaron heard a soft voice from the hallway, and turned to see a small brunette poking her head into the room. A moment later, the rest of her followed, and she gave the gathered people a curtsy. "Lady Varia instructed me to inform her guests to begin gathering in the dining hall, at the far end of the corridor. It's where this wing adjoins the rest of the house."
Aaron's face took on a neutral expression, with only a small turning up of his lips. "Thankyou, Miss. We'll do so as soon as we're all here."
She gave a smile in return to the green-haired sage, before starting to leave. As she turned to go though, something in her face changed. Fear entered it. "Saint preserve us!"
She took a shaky step back, making somekind of motion to ward off evil, as the mage turned to see. Xavier was sitting in one of the seats, a black bound book floating in front of him. He looked to be in some sort of extreme fom of concentration. Aaron had never seen anything of the sort before, but he immediately recognized the book for a book of dark magic as he bent his senses on it.
"Xavier! Put it away!" It was floating in front of the young man. He wouldn't be able to simply close it up.
Without waiting any longer, Aaron stepped back, and touched one of the fire tomes on the bookshelf. It was practically as natural as breathing to him now. The mage took what he knew, the knowledge of the books of Anima magic, and channeled his intent into a ball of flame. The fireball raced towards the dark tome, and with a minor twitch of his will, Aaron detonated it, containing the fire, but allowing the concussion of the explosion to knock the book away from Xavier.
There was a pause for a moment, before Aaron strode to Xavier's seat, checking on him.
"Xavier, are you alright? What did you do?"
OoC: Feel free to answer Xavier, but I'm timeskipping here.
After gathering everyone together, they moved down the hall, and opened a pair of double doors at the end of the hall. Inside, was a long, rectangular table set with enough places for all of them. Varia stood at the head of the table, behind a refined wooden chair. It wasn't an oversized thing, but rather, small. Elegant, while spair. Somehow, it seemed to fit her perfectly.
She eased into her own seat as they approached. "Please, join me. Enjoy the dinner before you." And she smiled at them.
Aaron found himself a seat, and took a moment to set himself at ease again, before partaking. Across the table were a myriad of dishes. There were salads, fruits, vegetables, a spice soup with a mix of vegetables and meat, which Aaron was delighted to have tried, and the center piece: a suitably sized roast boar. Aaron had never tried boar.... It wasn't something he would turn his nose up at though.
