Selibas was fine with there being a woman in charge, no problem there. He would be perfectly fine with a fmale employer or commander if he was a soldier. He had no doubt she was a competent commander and could lead these frostblades better than he had led his Sacaens. The only problem was, there was nothing he could do about the fact that there were several women who could hear him talk.
So when he spoke up he said, "Urssup bullvenhimen." He was better than he used to be, but the alcohal was messing that up, he just hoped Garnet didn't say that was all because he was drunk, though he wouldn't blame him if he did.

Marle was a little taken back by the green haired girl just coming into the picture, and blurting out her name like that. Her name itself wasn't what she was afraid of, really, but her last name. As her last name was said, Marle's eyes widened, and looked to the innkeeper and the serving girls, who looked at er, then to eachother, talking. one of them darted out the door, before she could raise a hand to stop her. Lowering her hand slowly, she gave a small sigh...well, so much for going incognito.
Marle hadn't been ignoring Caelica, she had listened, but her head at the time swam with the outcome of this. She didn't want to see her parents right now. There was no glory to bring them just yet. Marle's eyes turned back to Caelica, just as she was finishing up, and with a bit of a nod, she tried to stay focused, this girl came a long way to find her, best to not be vain about it.
Looking at the torn papers with a bit of a frown, raising a hand to try and read them, it was hard, but she could see what was written on them, and gave a nod.
"THat is me, and that is my goal, yes. This isn't anything simple, you can fight?"
Before Caelica could get another word in, she looked back to Kessel, and noticed he too, sought employment. This was either good fortune, or treacherous, but she tried to be optimistic about it. With a nod of her head to the both of them, she gave a smile, trying to move a bit away from them, feeling clustered as she was, backed against the table.
"Alright then...I'll ferment the details later, about pay, and structuring, but the both of you, keep close to town while I have the contracts written up."
This was all happening so fast, now there was the boy that Garnet was introducing, who responded to his introduction with...was that a sputter? What the hell did he even say! Marle crossed her arms, and raised an eyebrow at Garnet.
"He's drunk, what would I need with a drunk boy? I need people who can fight, who can wield a blade!"

Selibas gritted his teeth. If I had been a man and he hadn't been looking for work, he'd have made a sarcastic remark somehow. Instead he simply said, "Urrg van sbleeh." Yeah that'd show her. Wait never mind. Instead he closed his eyes for a few seconds. He had too do something slightly impossible. Well the chance of him doing was much smaller than the two alternatives, messing up due to the alcohol and killing someone, or losing the control and go completely feral.
He thought back to things that made him angry. His servitude in Bern, that Etrurian in the camp of the Aurumiaf, and all the times he had been beaten while no more than a novice. Finally he touched the scar on his cheek and felt the fact that he was Sacaen enough to be looked down upon by the world, but not Sacaen enough to be accepted easily by even his own tribe. The pain in his chest and his back hurting for a few seconds set Selibas ready. He kicked Zulfiqar's point in its sheath and caught it with his left hand instead of his right, then shot it back in. All at once kicking Caladbolg out but using his right hand to catch it. Hopefully that was a good presentation? Selibas had to quickly calm himself in order to not kill anyone here, though he wasn't sure how long he would last.

Garnet shrugged as Marle's comment made its way over to him. Selibas was still drunk, apparently.
"I'm not the one making his case for him. He can take some hits though. Drove off a couple of trouble makers in the tavern though."
He turned back to Aleth, wondering if Selibas would end up making or breaking his chance.
"There's really not that much to say about me. Just a man playing at sword fighting. Been traveling with Marle's company for a few days. Safer than traveling alone, anyway.... I like the company."
It was true. The cluster of soldiers following her reminded him a bit of the guards he'd been a part of before, in Etruria.... The Captain seemed to have good sense about her too. And, she wasn't bad to look at.... This new girl was awfully pretty too. You didn't see whte hair like hers everywhere. Mostly he was here because he liked the group though. Not because of the beautiful captain that he'd met only by chance in Illia's waste."
"Name's Garnet. Pleased to meet you." He offered his hand out for a greeting shake. That was when He noticed Selibas kicking free his weapons from his sheathes. It di look fairly impressive, but it caused Garnet to tense a bit. The last time he'd seen this, there'd been a fight. Marle was already moving though, and from what he'd seen of her talents, she'd be just fine. He relaxed and returned his attention to the white-haired girl.

The drunk boy's sudden grab for his sword, and at hearing the blade drag along the scabbard in that telltale scraping sound, she rose her gauntlet covered hands, arms still quite clad in armor though the main chest piece was off to the side. She thought the boy was going to attack her, and she prepared to fight him with her hands if need be.
Thankfully, for Selibas, that she had restrained herself just enough to watch that trick of his. She kept her hands up, ready to cross him on the jaw with a closed fist, if she had to, even with that sword in the scabbard, no one could tell what a drunk, much less a child, would do. Slowly, she relaxed. She was still quite on edge from the last battle, and it showed in her eyes. Showing that trick inside a bar with people so close by may not have been the best thing. Behind her, her men began to stand, swords still in their scabbards, but hnads on the hilt, ready to draw if need be.
Marle relaxed, and motioned for her men to sit back down with a hand, as she moved over to Selibas, and almost felt like growling at him. Marle moves her gaze to Garnet, and just gives a sigh, rubbing her head with a bit of disappointment at this.
"Anyone with a drawn sword can deal with trouble makers especially if they're unarmed!"
Marle looked back to Selibas, and pointed at him not with an outstretched arm, but with a more stern approach.
"Get sober, and then we'll talk. I want to see if you're more than just a kid who can do tricks. I'll need you to prove your mettle to me, for you wish to follow me. Everyone carries their own weight, with me."
Marle's eyes looked to everyone, but mostly all of her newer mercenaries, and even to Garnet, though he knew already.

"Ah, it's true, safety comes in numbers," Aleth responded to the man. If he didn't want to say anymore, it wasn't her to pry anymore. The green haired boy's stunt was interesting, at least he knew how to use his blade for something. It seemed to cause some unpleasant reaction for the red head though but nothing too much of a bother. As for his hand shake... Her mind raced through a series of possibilities... She could kiss it like a knight would for a princess but that would be a total reverse of the situation at best. Oh right there was that alcohol drink she got for free apparently and hadn't taken a sip yet.
"Here you go, Garnet, I prefer to stay away from alcohol," she said handing the man the mug.
"The name is Aleth, a pleasure to meet you."

Watching the idiot swordsman's display, Kessel's hand twitched for his spear, leaning up against the wall in the corner of the room. The spear reminded him of Rhia... Ah, crap. He'd been wasting time in the tavern and left her outside the town. She be pissed at him, that's for sure.
Seeing Marle look over all the people looking for work, Kessel decided that he'd leave her to work out the details. "Ah, Marle is it? Or rather Commander, now. As much as I'd hate to leave a pretty woman like you... With your leave, I have some business I have to take care." He gave a grin and sketched a half bow in the crowded room.
"If you need to contact me, I'll be down the road, at the inn on the corner." With that, he limped over to his spear, before making his way out the door. He needed to get Rhiannon to a stable for the night since it seemed he'd be staying.

Having accomplished her primary objective, Caelica stuffed the torn pieces of paper into a pocket. "Well, I finished what I came here to do." Caelica sighed, closing her eyes.
But then she heard the unsheathing of one sword, and then another. Caelica's eyes shot open, and her hand went to the handle of her own sword--seemingly in unison with all of Marle's men in the tavern. She stood, watching with the others as the drunk boy made a show with his swords. So, it looks like I'm already part of the group huh? Caelica thought to herself as she instinctively took her hand off the sword on Marle's signal. The contracts were still just a thought, and she had just met Marle, but in her mind she had already accepted the knight as her commander.
She looked up at Marle, and returned her powerful gaze with a grin. Caelica then looked around, wanting to see who she was going to be sharing the battlefield with. Not hating what she saw, Caelica headed for the door, giving a small wave in Marle's general direction. "Well I'm out, commander." Caelica put a playful emphasis on the last word. "I'll stick close to this area so I don't have to spend half the day looking for you again." She slowed as she was leaving, thinking that she would have nothing to do in the town--as far as she knew--besides talking with the others in the tavern. Caelica was brought back to her senses as the temperature changed and was hit with a cold blast of air. An orange haired man had opened the door and left, and then she too left the inn, with the door slamming shut behind her.

Marle shook her head, still a bit bothered by Selibas' display, but she was letting that seethe and soon she relaxed herself. Her shoulders gave a role, and before she knew it, the assault on getting her attention had just...ended? Looking first to Kessel, as he made mention that he needed to be going, and where he would be staying, she gave him a small nod, and a smile.
"Alright, I'll have a man come find you when we're about to make leave."
And not long after that, she Caelica brought her voice to attention. Her green eyes locked on the young girl, but just smiled, as she waved back at her leaving.
"Alright, I'll be here for the most part. I want both of you to come see me tomorrow, thats when we leave!"
Rubbing her head, she could really use Mavick right now. She hated writing contracts, making it look all official was the hardest part, made her wish she paid more attention when her father taught her this kind of thing. Looking to Garnet interacting with Aleth, she rose an eyebrow at them, seeing that they were getting quite...familiar?
Moving towards them, Marle gave a bit of a grin.
"See you two have introduced one another...anyways, what did you want, Garnet?"

Aleth handing him a mug of ale was hardly the sort of thing he'd expected when he'd offered a hand handshake. He stared dumbfounded at the mug for a moment, before his face cracked into a smiling laugh. This girl had a healthy sense of humor. It w as a little quirky, but he thought they'd get along just fine.
"Much obliged, Aleth." He tipped the cup back for a moment, wetting his lips with a small bit of drink, before reaching up with his left hand, and wiping away what remained on his red whiskers.
"Now, did you see someone else do that, or did you make that one up on the spot? I'm sure the Magnificent would have approved." The Magnificent, being Crowley the Magnificent, of course. Stories of his greatness seemed to have filled every bar across Elibe.
"It's Captain...." He muttered to himself as he heard the newly hired mercs telling their "Commander" that they would be back later. What was so important that they were all leaving, anyway? Was there some newly hired merc convention someplace?
"Hello, Marle. Seemed almost like you were about to be trampled there, for a moment." Garnet paused for a moment, trying to decide how to word what he was saying.
"There's a few things. Mainly though, I'm satisfied with our arrangements. Let me travel with your group, and I'll lend a hand- and my blade, where they are needed.... And, didn't you mention being interested in learning to fight with a sword a few days ago?

Marle took off a glove as she rubbed the back of her head. Garnet was right, that is how she felt there for a moment, with all of those mercenaries seeking employment. Really, Arphen would have been the best place for most, with this 'war' going on. Either way, she was appreciative that she was going to get a bit more help. Mercenaries were flakes for the most part, some just expected to be hired for a few days and then ditch, taking what money they could, or the ones that stayed would run away when the going gets tough. She hoped for someone solid here.
"Ah, yes, I did. I think it's about time for me to branch out, and learn more about other weapons than lances. Both swords and axes would have a common appeal for someone in my position."
Marle grinned as she went to collect her things, tossing on her armor without any sort of issue, as if she didn't notice the weight on her shoulders. Re-clasping her straps at the side, she reached for her dragonspear, and held it in her hand, leaning on it like a staff.
"Why, whats on your mind about that?"

Selibas struggled to calm himself. He even stood with his hand choking Caldabolg's hilt for a minute after Marle gave a new expectation. Selibas hadn't ment to get drunk, but after two drinks he was buzzd enough to be funnya and the drinks kept coming. Tommorow morning he'd be in pain, but have enough sense and control to show that he was more than a boy who could do tricks.
This was strangley the inn he had bought a room in. He went up stairs and walked down the hall putting his key in each door. It finally fit and he walked into a small room. He himself was small however so it worked out quite well. He slipped off his jacket and armor, setting his swords on a small desk, then placing his armor on top of it. One thing, even drunk, Selibas' swords were a part of his like, he had changed armor three times since leaving Sacae, his sword were the reasons for all he had ever achieved. Those were his swords, no matter that one was a preused sword. Selibas moved to lock the door, then sat against the bed post in the room. He slowly went to sleep.

"Honestly, I wouldn't mind branching out some myself." The use of the lance and the axe.... His uncle had trained in everything. Garnet didn't know if he had the discipline for that anymore. Learning something like how to swing an axe would be enough trouble for the redheaded swordsman.
He met her gaze as she spoke to him, leaning on her spear. He spoke up, smirking in confidence all the while. "Well, I happen to be a capable swordsman, and quite able to instruct besides. I told you Captain. I'm willing to lend a hand where I'm needed. You should just be more free about asking for it" Dang... those green eyes were something.
"....eh... Are you going somewhere?" Only towards the end had he noticed her strapping her armor back on. Selibas had packed himself up, and moved up to his room by now, and the dinner hall seemed to be emptying.

Marle watched as Selibas wandered off, and figured he was going to bed. He would be much better to deal with when he was sober. With a grin, Marle turned her eyes fully back to Garnet, and nodded a bit, he had a point afterall, she should be more forthcoming about asking for aid, she would get used to that yet. Weapons training was definitely important in her line of work.
"Guess so..and, oh, no no, I'm just getting this on so I don't have to lug it around in my hands."
She chuckled and looked up at her dragonlance, remembering back to the first time she used it, and was pleased with it's result, even if it didn't kill a wyvern. Rolling her shoulders, she grinned, and decided to just be forward and come out with it.
"Garnet, would you train me in the sword? I had some training as a Pegasus Knight, briefly, but that was nix'd when I transferred into the Knights."

"Oh... Right...." Garnet really should have known that.... He was carrying his shield on his back for the same reason. His blade too, as a matter of fact. Everything on his person, infact, except for the mug in his hands, which he set down in front of a particularly sleepy looking drunk. Not like he'd mind, anyway.
The swordsman glanced out the window, and saw what he'd been expecting. Sunshine still shining. "Pegasus Knight training, eh? Well that's interesting, but I don't think it will help you much with the sword. Maybe you can tell me about it sometime...."
Idly, Garnet began patting himself down for his equipment. His shield and blade were on his back, and his slimsword at his side. That was the important bit.
"The answer is, Yes. I'll train you. Don't expect to master it right away though. I'm willing to bet it took a good long time to get as talented with the lance as you are, and it took time for me to become the swordsman I am today." He spoke shamelessly of their weapon mastery. It was true!
"I should be able to make a competant swordswoman of you quickly enough though.... When do you want to start?"
