Marle only shrugged her shoulders. Some training was better than no training, afterall, though the mercenary was right, she didn't expect to learn too quickly, and she didn't bother to mention the fact she got this used to fighting with a lance one handed in not too long of a time, only a few years or so. Keeping her face plain and unblemished of smiles, she just listened intently, like a student with a teacher.
When Garnet accepted, she was happy, and allowed a smile to grow, but there was no point in rejoicing about it, the man could just as likely change his mind sometime down the road. When asked about when to start, she looked outside, and saw there was still some sun left. Marle gave only a grin, and a nod.
"How about right now? There's still sunlight, and I have nothing more to do for the rest of the day. "

The "now" she answered with was a good sign. It meant that she really wanted to spend some effort on the project, or so he hoped. It was a relief. He didn't want to waste his time on an ingrate, who wasn't even going to give it the full attention it deserved.
"Good to see you're so ready, Marle. I'd rather head out and freeze here, where I can recover tonight, than have to rough it in the wilds all the time." The swordsman took a moment, stretching and twisting as he loosened himself to head out, and into the snow. At least his coat stopped the wind. Except where there were a few cuts in the sturdy leather. Not many, but there were a few.
Walking towards the doorway, The red-headed man reached out a long arm and grabbed hold of Aleth's pauldroned shoulder, tugging her along with him.
"Come on, Aleth. You might be handy to have around." Not like she had anything better to do, right?

Aleth listened to all the conversation since she had nothing to do after winning that game over there. The discussion of learning a new skill especially with a blade sounded like quite an interesting event. There was time for such a thing to happen. Then she was unexpectedly invited.
"Yeah, you're right," she sighed following the red head.

Marle could only grin as she tightened her grip on her lance, and began to follow Garnet out the door. She wasn't all that surprised that Aleth was being dragged along. Rather, Marle was amused at just the way Garnet kind of dragged her at first, like no was not an option. Stepping out the door after them, Marle began leading them to a small clearing where she had used a time before, for practice before sending off to become a recruit.
((Since I would drag out the RP too long doing here, I don't want our other members being too left so I am going to make a small timeskip to the next morning. If this steps on anyone's toes, I apologize.))
The town was relatively quiet, but the center building's morning bell began to toll. It rang five times, signalling the day to begin. Really, the implement of this bell was to signal that stores would now all be open. It wasn't all that early, a good few hours after sun up. The Bell woke Marle up with a start, she felt a bit stiff from the previous day's practice, but it was a good work out, and training session. She was nowhere close to mastering the blade in such short time, however, so she kept modest.
Getting dressed, and putting on her armor and packs, she left her room, knocking on the occupied doors of her men to get them up along the way.
"Come on, Get up, we got things to do."
She was rather quiet voiced, since others may still be sleeping, but she could hear the slow scuffling of people in their rooms. She moved herself over towards the stairs, and walked herself right out the door. Humming softly, she felt the cold air hit her face, as her arms stretched above her head, the sun kissing her white skin as she smiled brightly. Already people were bustling about, going about their daily lives, this was good to see again.
Marle remembered she'd have to go visit the smith's at some point and get her lance back.

Selibas awoke at the sond of a bell. He stood quickly, his body used to his sleeping position. He realized how much his head hurt once he stood. Hegrabbed his armor and put it on, followed by his jaket. He strapped his swords to his side, and walked out of the room. He was used to getting ready as fast as he could, the smallest soundwoke him up two years ago when he left Sacae. He quickly made his way outside and waited.
He guessed that Marle already had a neative opinion of him, and that unless he looked for her he wouldn't get a chance. So he waited, until he saw her. He walked toward her and said, "He-hello mam, I I'm sober now."

Aleth sat down on the tavern table for a rest. She had gotten up quite early even before the sun had been up. It wasn't like she had all that much to do in the first place though. She spent the last few hours before Marle was waking everybody just gathering her things and doing a bit of exercise. She curses her own nature sometimes as she had spent the last hour delivering things around town for the inn keeper. At least most of the items weren't too heavy and she wasn't too worn out. The training yesterday was worse than the morning at least.
There was a nice hot meal set before her and she simply began munching on it, waiting for the others to get here.

Caelica's hand went over her mouth as she let out a small yawn. It took the combined effort of the morning light and the marching of feet in the hall outside the room she was staying in to wake her up. She sat for a minute, staring blankly out the room's dirty window. Then, Caelica suddenly jumped out of bed as she came back to her senses with the loud chatter of people outside the inn ringing in her ears.
"Oh great, I'm going to be late!" She yelled, throwing her clothes on. She hastily began stuffing all her possessions in her bag then ran out the door. Caelica ran out of the inn at a respectable pace, and when the cold Ilian air hit her, she started to speed up. When she turned a corner to the inn where Marle was staying, for a split second she caught sight of a little girl carrying groceries before crashing into her. The groceries and the girls were sent flying--Caelica landing on her back with a soft thud on some hard snow. Caelica helped the girl pick up all the groceries, picking up whatever she could, as fast as she could. Then she gave her some money to compensate for anything she might have ruined.
"Ah, but Miss!" The little girl said in astonishment.
"Sorry about that!" Caelica yelled over her shoulder, sprinting away before the little girl had a chance to thank--or yell--at her. She looked down at her hand to see that she had grabbed one of the little girl's bread. Deciding not to let it go to waste, she took a bite out of it, but frowned at the thought of eating stolen bread. Another bite, and another bite followed however, and the guilt soon went away--and she frowned even more--when she realized how much she had actually given the girl. Finally Caelica arrived the inn where she was supposed to be at, and stood in the door frame. She was breathing heavily as she stuffed the last piece of bread in her mouth, drawing the attention of many of the people waiting at the inn.
"Boss..." Caelica panted, "Sorry, I'm late..."

Garnet awoke at the sound of knocking on his door. It wasn't someone coming to see him though. It was Marle trying to get all of her people roused. He lay in bed a minute, blinking stupidly at the light coming through his window. His hair was mussed from sleeping on one side of his head for too long, and well..., he was cold. His limbs felt dead with cold, and it didn't feel nice.
After laying there a moment more and working up the will to climb out of bed, he sat up, and swung his legs over the side of the bed, immediately pulling his socks and boots on (the only part of his clothing he'd taken off, besides his coat. Illia was cold! And they'd given him what must be the draftiest room in the building.
Satisfied that he'd be warm... er... eventually, he stood up, re-mussed his hair until it had a semblance of normalcy, threw on his red chest plate, then his coat, and finally the pauldron he wore on his sword arm. He should try and find a match for it at some point. The more protection the better. Last of all, he buckled on his sword belt, and threw the rest of his gear across his back. Now he really looked the part of a hero from the stories. Too bad. He wasn't likely to live up to any story book expectations.
Exiting his room the swordfighter stomped his way down the stairs, earning a few angry looks from those who'd obviously drank too much the night before, and made his order.
"Steak and eggs please. Medium and scrambled with cheese." Protein was an imporatant part of this Etrurian's diet.
Finding a seat, he sat down across from Aleth the only other person in the inn he recognized at this point, though he could see Marle outside.
"Good morning, Aleth," he said, finishing his greeting with a mischevious, closed-mouthed smile. "Not too sore today, I hope."
Just then, there was a crash as the door flew open, and the green-haired girl from the day before stood in the open doorway.
"Ehh... Boss is outside." He said to her, pointing idly with an index finger to where he could see Marle enjoying the morning sun. Oh, h***. He could already feel the cold air making its way from outside to his seat.

Kessel had been up with dawn, making sure Rhiannon was fed. After that, he checked his armor for dents or rust, then sharpened his spear a bit. Finally deciding that his gear was presentable, he went outside and did some practice with his spear.
With the rest of the town awakening, he finished up and took a shower, before gearing up. Using his lance as a walking stick, he made his way to the inn where his new commander was staying. Seeing her outside, he snapped a salute and said, "Morning Commander. What's on the agenda for today?"

As Marle stood outside, she saw Selibas first, and grinned a bit at him. Her look was that of amusement. She saw him sauntering up right away, and she gave him a welcoming nod of her head as her hand gripped around her Dragonspear tightly, leaning on it just a bit more than she should have.
"Hello Selibas, good to see you sober, and able to speak."
She just grinned a bit, obviously, his stuttering was humorous, but she was just glad he was able to speak the same language as her. Next, however, she saw the green haired girl run right past her, and into the inn, making her raise an eyebrow. She could hear Garnet from the open door left by her, and chuckled, waving her hand back inside the building, just as he pointed.
Next was Kessel who came up, looking quite casual in his armor, and she quickly waved her hand in a dismissing way at his salute.
"Ah, good morning, Kessel, but you don't need to salute me, you're not under my command the same way as one of my soldiers, I'm paying for your service, all I ask is respect, and for you to follow me, but you don't need to do that, makes me feel uncomfortable, and if someone saw me being saluted, well, they'd know I'm the commander, and may try to take me out."
She had been told of things like that in the field. Saluting was for being behind closed doors inside one's own city, out in the field, it was best not to do that, or else risk being seen. Putting her hands on her hips, she watched as men grabbed horses from the stables, and bring them around front, it was time to get going soon, she knew.
"Do any of you have anything you all need to take care of?"
Marle asked in a louder than usual voice, trying to get to those who were still inside, like Aleth, whom she knew was eating. Things were still being prepared, so they wouldn't leave just yet.

Caelica followed the man's finger, but all she could see from where she was standing was the white from the reflection of the sun on the snow. She poked her head out of the door, finally spotting Marle.
"Thanks uh...Garnet was it?" She called out to him as she walked out. Caelica ran back though, remembering this time to close the door, and even gaving a playful bow as she did it. "It's a little warm today, no?"
Marle began calling out to everyone and Caelica appeared right next to her. "I'm ready to go, boss." Caelica said, not knowing if Marle had taken notice of her yet. She stopped, then started digging through her pack. "Yep, looks like I did grab everything..." She closed the bag slowly, wondering if she really did have everything.
"You sure do look relaxed though, boss." Caelica said, looking up at Marle.

Aleth munched on her food listening to all the morning commotion. It was actually quite comedic with everyone trying to hurry and pack. It was a good thing she didn't have much to do, so she could enjoy and relax this morning. Garnet had sat across from her and she was actually quite fine with that.
"Morning Garnet, quite a nice morning today," she said, her tone quite energized. She has been up for a few hours already.
"Hello mam, this is an extra order in thanks for your help this morning," a waitress said, setting a plate of hot food on the table.
"No it's alright," she tried to reply but apparently the owner insisted.

"Just eating Marle! Care to join us?" Garnet hollered out the door as green haired girl headed back outside, into the blustery cold. She told him to call her by name, but it still felt a bit funny to the redhead. Where he'd grown up, well, there'd been a lot of mixed practices regarding ranks. Perhaps he'd discover some of that going on here, after awhile.
"Warm day... About as warm as the back of the North Wind." How that Caelica could call it warm was beyond the merc. Then again, he'd only been here, in Illia, for a few weeks. It wouldn't make sense for his skin to have thickened yet.
His steak and eggs arrived, cooked to perfection. The swordsman leaned back in his chair, savoring the scent of victory over hunger, when his chair tipped backwards. He was expecting a decent fall, and a loud clatter, when something stopped his motion. Looks like the chair's legs were uneven, and he'd only leaned it back the few inches it would go. That was better than hitting the floor, though it left the alarmed, wide-eyed soldier feeling rather stupid for being so worried. Chairs had uneven legs all the time in places like this.
Deciding to ignore the past events, he started shoveling the food off the plate, and into his mouth. He still found time to give the swordswoman a smile between bites though. "Gorgeous out. I think the Captain wants to make use of it on the road though. We'd better not dally too much."

The Knight gave a grin as she looked in on the two inside, and gave a shake of her head. Pulling out an apple from her pouch, she gave it a small shake in the direction of Garnet, if he could see it or not, she wasn't really paying attention.
"I'll eat on the way. We need to leave within the hour. I don't have the time, and I have things I need to get."
Marle meant her lance, but she just smirked, and looked back at the Green haired girl, hearing how she was addressed, only gave her a smirk. She didn't think for a time she could remember, that anyone called her boss. That was interesting, but she wouldn't deter it.
"You may use my name, if you wish, but yes...for last evenings events, I am feeling well rested. Would you mind if I borrowed you? I need to go and pick up something from the smith. If you'd like to talk more, you may accompany me."
Marle gave a small grin as she crossed her arms, allowing the rest to do as they pleased before everything was ready.

OOC: I might just have to take you up on that offer then xD
"Borrowed, huh?" Caelica pondered, overthinking Marle's choice of words. She took a look at all the people getting ready for whatever they were going to be doing, then threw her pack over her shoulder.
"Well, alrighty then, I don't have much to do here anyway....Marle..." Caelica threw out Marle's name, trying to get a feel for it. She decided that she would use all the titles she could think of--boss, commander, ma'am, Marle--interchangeably, until she decided on a permanent name. What would eventually decide what title was picked was unknown, even to her, but it would present itself to her sooner or later in some way.
"So, what's the smith owe you?" She asked, letting Marle lead the way.
