Jya wasn't sure how to respond, she could go at Ralph in full strength but she had no intention to killing anyone other then the target and perhaps those protecting him. In between the clanging of swords and thought she had made a decision to make herself clear. Instead of being on full defense she swung at Ralph's sword with all her strength. Through it she couldn't help but glare at her opponent. She could feel a rise in her blood pressure and perhaps a form of frenzy to get this done. It took part of her sanity to hold back. This sensation was similar to her first kills as an assassin.
"Don't test me," she said in a voice full of killing intent.

The swords met, and Ralph's gave way first. The lightweight sword went flying off the roof as it clashed with Jya's sword. This girl was obviously much stronger than Ralph, but he couldn't give up. Innocent people might die if Jya were allowed to leave.
"I can't just let you walk away. That's not what Matis would do, so I can't either." He pulled out his steel sword, his stance dropping a little to match the weight. Once again Ralph charged at Jya, not flinching.

Jya let go with a sigh as Ralph came charging back at her. Really her temples are pounding and her body is far too eager to kill. She knew that if she let herself go, things would end horrible. The swords came clanging again. This guy needed to be a warrior or something with his eagerness to defend against justice.
"I know what you mean," she said, noticing that his sword was made up of a tougher material. She pushed back against the blade to jump back and make some distance.
"Man it is getting difficult to hold back," she said, giving out another sigh. With that she prepared for another attack.

"Urgh, I'm just not-" He was interrupted by a sudden warmth. The sun was slowly rising over the horizon. Ralph dropped to his knees, the sword falling from his hand. "M-my mask... please..." he said, in between gasps of agony while he clutched his face.
He no longer thought about who Jya was, only the burning light filled his mind. He knew that the blindfold she cut was still lying around somewhere, but it would be impossible to find by himself. "Please... I-I'm begging you..."

Jya sheathed her blade as Ralph bent over due to the light. What was she to do? One side of her was being told to get out of there before he comes at her again and the other told her to help him. It felt more justified to stay and help though, she hadn't changed all that much, at least that is what she wished to believe. Silently walking over to where the red sash fell, she bent and picked up the piece of fabric and stood behind Ralph holding it in one hand.
She could say she did one good deed for the say at least. Bending over, she deftly tied the piece of cloth over his eyes. He really seemed in pain from the light and so he really was blind.
"It really isn't what it seems," she muttered, backing away and making her escape down the sides of the wall.

Once Ralph recollected his mind, Jya was long gone. "Was I... wrong? She wouldn't have helped me if she was bad... right?"
"You're an idiot, Ralph." Ralph didn't even notice when Bill had climbed up to the roof.
"W-what do you mean by that?!" he said, obviously upset by the comment.
"You're a thief. Don't deny it, you stole from the government just a couple days ago. You should know that a person doesn't always choose their job, it may come to them because of their abilities."
"Yeah..." He realized that his zeal for being a hero should be redirected towards himself. Stealing from the governme- wait, what? "What? Government? I haven't stolen in a few months now, Bill."
"That's not what this wanted poster says. 'Wanted: Young blonde man wearing red. Blindfold over eyes. Wanted for thievery and tax evasion.' Just where did you get that money from?"
"That man... he was for real? I need to give back the money, and-and apologize to the authorities and-" Ralph was interrupted by Bill's meaty hand smacking his face.
"Listen Ralph. Not everyone is meant to be a 'hero'. Think about it, are you better at stealing and lock-picking, or actually fighting?"
"Well..." Bill had a good point. Ralph's dexterity had always been his greatest strength, even as a kid. "But, stealing is wrong, right? It's what the badguys do..."
"You need to stop thinking in terms of 'good' and 'bad', Ralph. There are people in the world looking to hurt the general populace. They do steal and lie and stuff to get their way. Trying to fight back fairly will always fail. There are people out there fighting back against these enemies who need your skills."
Ralph and Bill said nothing for a while, until Bill eventually jumped off the roof to open the shop for the day. Ralph only sat there, struggling with Bill's words.

Jya scuttled through the streets without too much concern, wondering if it was right to do the job in the first place. After her encounter with Ralph she wondered if her path was the best to be on. She swore there was a pounding in her temples and something eagerly encouraging her to go for the kill. Truthfully she was glad she didn't go for the slit of the throat. Thank goodness she didn't take out Quadkiller. The blade was far too crude for just a regular combat, the edges were made for someone out for a good hit on their opponent. It was no armor slayer but it could really slice through flesh. She couldn't help but gulp down her stress.
"What to do now?" she said, having no leads and perhaps a blind person hunting her.

"I... I need to get out of here. If Pherae's soldiers are on the lookout for me, I'll need to disguise myself..." Making sure to retrieve his swords, Ralph got off the bakery roof and ran down the street.
"Ah.. where was the clothes store? I need someone helping me out, but I can't get Bill involved. Curse my blind eyes!" It didn't take much time for him to completely lose his sense of direction. That seemed to be a problem with wearing only one set of clothes.

Jya was asking some questions again about the target when she noticed Ralph rushing by in some errand or another. Out of her own curiosity she followed behind careful to match someone else's footsteps to keep her presence as low as possible. Perhaps she needed to train herself more as her pace was changing from each different crowd she joins. He seemed to be in a rush for some reason...
Then she noticed some soldiers on the side yelling about at one another and hurrying pass them. What were doing going after...Ralph? She could see crowds parting to make way for the men.
"Alright, enough watching, guess I'll figure it out myself," she muttered under her breath before pushing back others in the way and following the pursuit.

Ralph heard shouts and shuffling of metal behind him. "Crap, already? They're good at their job..." There wasn't time to find a shop now.
Suddenly, Ralph could hear a large crowd in front of him, he wasn't sure what they were doing but he took his chance. He pushed his way into the crowd, quickly blending in.
While the soldiers started looking for him through the crowd, Ralph escaped through a nearby alley. "I hope I lost them..."

Jya watched the whole mess but kept an eye out for Ralph. He was the main interest of the guards and someone that was strangely good at escaping trouble. She had to admit he was agile during their fight and this shouldn't be too surprising for her. While the guards were troubling to catch up she found herself following the chase through an aerial view.
With careful footing she climbed on top of the buildings and traveled along such routes. Her eyes were more focused on keeping track of the blind man but she used her peripheral vision to keep up. Sure she made a slip up here and there but nothing a few boosts of rushing got her up to speed. Soon enough the guards diverged and it seemed that Ralph was separated from his pursuers. With a few grunts and tussles, she dropped herself next to Ralph as he made his comment.
"Not going well eh?"

Ralph was caught completely off guard when the assassin's voice sounded next to him. "Jya!"
But his surprise turned to sadness quickly, "I-I'm sorry. I attacked you without even knowing what your own motivations were. Please look past my childishness." His words were coming straight from his heart this time.
"Er, I could use some help. I need to change my looks so that the guards won't recognize me, but it's extremely difficult to do so being blind. Can you help me again? Please?"

"No problem kiddo," she replied half joking, while petting Ralph on the head.
Jya considered the repercussions of helping the guy out. He needed it to say the least but it was a shady business to be wanted by the local guards. She needed to focus on her mission but someone was asking for help right now! Oh the conflicts going on in her mind. If she gets caught it wouldn't be good news for her health.
"Fine I'll help but know that there is a limit on how much I can give," she answered.
"In return do you know who Archibald Warren is? I heard he was a soldier and a local here," she stated, careful not to state too much. It was nice that she had narrowed her target down to a name but it wasn't easy. He could be out of town by now and under the contract she had to chase after her target until he was dead. Ralph didn't need to know that though...

Ralph let Jya pet his head, but he replied, "...Kiddo? You don't sound that much older than me."
Regardless, Ralph was very grateful that he was getting some assistance.
"Archibald... Warren..? I'm sorry, but the name doesn't ring a bell."
"You'll have to lead me to a clothing shop, I really don't know where any are in this city. The Wanted poster mentioned red clothes and a blindfold, so if we can remedy those some how then we'll lose them, but..." He thought about sunlight only for a second, "I need something red in front of my eyes to protect me from the sun..."

Jya shrugged at such a simple request but she wasn't that much of a thrill seeker.
"Alright, I'll help you out, a clothing shop is quite close by, no worries," she said, getting up to start leading.
"You're blind right? It seems you could still tell where to go with your other ways of seeing, so we can chat along the way," she said.
"The store is really close by though, it won't be a long chat," she muttered scratching at her cheek with her padded gloves.
"So were you born blind?" she asked beginning to head towards the store.
