"Yeah, I can use my other senses. I have a companion to help me with long distances, but he doesn't like cities." He followed Jya, making sure that her footsteps could always be heard.
Then came the normal question. He had been asked this a lot it seemed. "I have memories. Memories of sights that I once saw. Some years ago I fell asleep and woke up blind. Nobody I met could cure me."

Jya took a moment to find herself a reply. She didn't want to sound insensitive then again she never really cared before. It was perhaps her change that caused her to change so many different views she had.
"That sounds horrible, at least I was born with this sickness, it gets more difficult if someone's is used to have a vision and suddenly have it gone," she replied and paused for a longer period of time.
"At least I have a hard imagining life without my illness, I sure hope you can see one day."
"Alright we're here," she said opening the door to a little clothes shop on the corner.

"Thanks, I don't know if I will, but I hope that I might see again too."
Ralph was glad that Bill put some sense into him. Jya seemed like a real nice girl.
He entered the store that Jya had led him to. Unfortunately, it was a clothes store and he was blind. "Hey Jya, you think that you could pick out something nice for me? I'll pay for it, I just don't know what to 'look' for." He said, grinning at his pun.

Jya was taken by surprise by Ralph's second request. Picking out clothes wasn't something she was good at. Shop owners often helped her patch old clothing or pick out the clothes for her. That doesn't mean she couldn't try!
"I'll try," she answered back with a curious tone that was happy but strange. She tugged at various clothes and imagined Ralph in them but none of them seem to fit as she was looking through the female section. Good thing he couldn't see though.
What she did end up picking out was actually some greenish but not quite green cloaks and such.
"Here, these should work out!" she said, handing it over to Ralph.
"Now hurry in and change," she continued, looking through the window and finding a soldier walking towards the store. He was a blonde about the same size as Ralph... Could he be?

"Alright, thanks Jya." Ralph said, taking the clothes from her. It was a little tight for a cloak, but still warmer than his vest had been. He just had to trust that Jya gave him something that wasn't red.
He returned with the new set of clothes and paid for it. "Alright, now what do we do about the blindfold, Jya? Any ideas?"

The soldier had walked into the shop while Ralph was dressing. He was half-way to the counter before her blind friend walked out. Jya's body moved on her own, unsheathing her blade from its scabbard. Let it be her target or not, she felt compelled to move as he was a soldier. The shop owner let out a gasp before stuttering his name,"Watch out Archi-."
It was too late as she could feel her blade sinking into the man's back. With a mighty pull she sliced through his shoulder and finally as he staggered to look into her face she slit the man's throat. The old lady covered her face in horror and began to sob.
"My Archi!" she cried. "He should have never killed that man, I knew, I knew," she muttered.
"Well I guess that settles what I had to do," Jya said, glancing away a bit. She carried herself over to some square pieces of cloth and picked up one. In a respectful manner she laid the body down and placed a cloth over the man's face.
"Even the worst men needs respect at death," she said, placing the cloth over his face. With that she dashed out of the door, tears streaming yet she couldn't fully figure out why.

"...Jya?" The girl didn't reply. Was she not there? Then he noticed it, the smell of blood. As well as the sobbing lady.
Ralph burst out the door. There was no way he'd know where Jya had gone. "Jya!" He called out, thinking it was useless. He didn't stick around the shop to find out what Jya had done, although he was able to guess. Jya must've had a good reason for it, right?

Jya swore she heard Ralph call out at her but she kept on running. What did she just do? Why did it feel so bad that she had killed her target? This wasn't what she wanted but he did the wrong first...right? Through all these questions she just couldn't stand it! Before long she found herself before the woman that asked for the contract, a hand still holding the dagger. The woman began crying a bit as well.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked," she choked. Jya wasn't sure what to do... She wanted to get rid of the guilt hovering before her.
"At least I wash away all my guilt and put it upon you," she stated, wiping her face. The tears had stopped it was the woman's fault. Sure she was the one who killed him but it was part of the contract. This one time she didn't bother to claim anything. She simply rushed out of the streets and the city, confused on her course of life.

"Jya..." Ralph had hoped she wouldn't leave, but she had her reasons. Both of them had tough choices in their lives.
Unfortunately, without sight Ralph could not search for her. And even if he could search, his disguise was not done. Ralph knew where the next place to visit was, cause he had delivered there once. A glass shop that specialized in stained glass.
Ralph was able to get to the shop without running into the authorities again. "I have an odd request", he said. "I need a pair of bifocals stained red. I'll pay anything for it."
The shopkeep, recognizing him as the blind baker's boy, got to work on it immediately. Probably out of pity for the young blind man. The process would take a while, so Ralph waited inside the shop thinking of Jya.
