Tara patted Calvin’s shoulder, comforting him by reassuring him of Valorian’s safety. Calvin continued playing his gentle melody. He was just hoping it could help Valorian to relax, maybe soften any pain he might be feeling. Nearing the end of Calvin’s song Jya arrived heaving up and down from exhaustion holding out the bottle, claiming she got it. Calvin was so anxious to save Valorian, but continued playing his song until Valorian was up and safe again, besides wouldn’t it be nice to wake up to a sweet harmonious tune. Jya gave Tara the vial which she then gave to Valorian. Within moments Valorian leaned up instantly clutching his chest. Calvin’s song came to a slow and quiet end.
Calvin’s eyes teared up a little as Valorian arose. He was so happy to see him safe. But now was not a sad time, he wiped his tears and packed away his flute. Then Jya reminded everyone they were looking for something. Calvin stood up now more determined than ever to find it! After all they had gone through, they just had to find it now! Calvin let himself get dragged off by Isabel, deeper into the fort. The pair walked for not too long, taking only a few twists and turns down the stone hallways of the ruined fortress. It was then Calvin remembered the shiny gem he found earlier. He quickly pulled it out of his bag and showed it to Isabel.
“Hey Isabel, do you think this is what we’re looking for?”

Jya was shifting through piles of rubble away from others. It was probably not a good idea to reveal herself seeing as she wasn't sure who she had killed through the whole mess. As far as she was concerned the fact that anyone was alive was a danger to her own life. Throughout the whole search she was constantly looking up just in case anyone was trying to sneak up at her. When one area was finished she went to look through another area.
Her eyes was peered for anything that seemed like a chest, shiny or useful. This was all that she thought the important thing could be in. It wasn't long at her second spot, she found a shiny piece of object but it was only a broken blade. This task seemed impossible! She wanted to find something to bring back at least...

After a couple minutes of searching (and not finding much more than rotting wood and crumbling rock walls... And some gold and a mostly empty bottle of some kind of healing potion thingy), Calvin brought forth the shiny red gem, asking of that could possibly be what they were searching for. Isabel shrugged, and rolled her shoulders. Her stomach growled, begging for food, and the 'prodigy' wished she could fulfill it's demand right then and there. "Yeah, sure... Why not? Hey Calvin, have you got any food on you? I'm starving." The girl asked, fixing her gaze upon Calvin. She would need to explain some stuff to him; the boy was clueless about... Everything, really. As soon as possible. the sapphire-haired girl thought. Otherwise his happy-go-lucky attitude will probably get him killed. Naturally, Isabel was ignorant of her own hard-headedness, which would no doubt be the cause of her death one of these days, but let us not dwell on that.
"Come on, we might as well take it back to Valorian and show it to him."

Calvin and Tara had found a lot of bits and pieces on their search, most of it was gold, but Isabel found some weird bottle. Calvin had brought forth the shiny red gem which he had found earlier, before he broke down the wall which he just remembered they didn’t even used. Turns out he probably broke his arm for nothing, oh well it was all adding to his confidence, after all he broke down a wall. He didn’t see the point in letting the thought linger in his mind and returned his attention to the task at hand. He smiled confidently after getting Isabel’s approval. Maybe he found was actually going to be useful for something besides clogging up a wall. After all, it was a good hiding spot; most people would search the floors. Not inside the walls. Calvin was prepared to leave when Isabel asked him for food. Calvin was certainly on a role today, he quickly flipped open his bag and rummaged around while holding the red gem in his free hand. Tara and he had gone shopping just before the trip, and just as she said, food would be needed, she was so smart! Calvin couldn’t wait to learn more from her. He pulled out some dried jerky from his bag and flipped it closed again. He then handed the dried jerky to Isabel with a smile on his face.
“Tara helped me do some shopping before I left! We got some supplies for the adventure!”
Calvin followed Isabel as they headed back to Valorian. They didn’t have much walking to do since they hadn’t ventured far from the starting point. After retracing their steps they returned within minutes. Calvin then noticed Tara, but it looked as if she was spying on someone. Calvin smiled to himself remembering how he had met Isabel spying on Tirion and his group, and now they were bestest friends. True friends are those who eavesdrop! He silently approached Tara with a smile on his face before showing her his red gem.
“What do you think Tara?! I found this earlier and forgot about it until now… Do you think this could be the item? It does look rare!”

Valorian had been thinking on the issue when he'd heard Calvin's voice. He seemed to have found something, though he doubted that boy could have possibly found the...-
His eyes bulged when he saw what Calvin held in his right hand. "C-Calvin!" He called, the General turning to see him, Isabel and Tara. "Bring that here! Let me see it!" He said, clearly excited. He looked to the general.
"Unless I remember incorrectly. The real gem should have the Royal Crest actually carved deep into the center of the gem, correct?"
[blue]"That is correct. Let's see if this little boy really did find it. Show it to me." He demanded of Calvin.[/blue]
"Wait." Valorian said, causing the General to eye him. "Etruia was sending that to you, because it would let you rally the people of Bern behind a noble of your choosing. An all out war of that kind against Ilia would certainly be vicious. I wonder what Etruia stood to gain from all of that?" He said, shooting the General a curious expression. Valorian already knew, but he was trying to prove the point to the General.
[blue]"You're saying that they are going to wait for us and Ilia to beat each other bloody, then finish us both off. That's where you are trying to lead me, right?" he asked to the priest.[/blue]
"What other answer makes sense? I'm not saying I don't want my homeland to be free, but perhaps you should wait until after Etruia is dealt with and no longer a threat to kick the Ilian's out..."
[blue]The General seemed to be considering this. "First, let us verify if it is real." he said, extending an armored hand towards Calvin.[/blue]

Jya had searched through the debris and found a curious blade. It was heavier then what she was used to but it seemed to be durable enough for later use. Although heavier it was hardly as big as her killing edge so she decided to make an extra slot to put her new weapon in. Maybe she could get it fixed up later? With that thought she went back towards Valorian as to see what he might have found.
Valorian appeared to be standing with a man that had similar armor as to those she had killed. Sweat began to build on her temples and she began to freak out a little bit. It would be back if she burst out especially if they recognized her. To keep herself safe she slinked deeper into the shadows and watched from afar.

Tara ducked behind the door upon Valorian seeing her. She didn't know why she did so, it was just... some kind of natural instant. Strange, how fast she reacted. Maybe she was getting a little bit used to fighting, or at least being around the threat of battle. But she just fled... from an ally? Maybe Val needed her help! Tara got up, only to have her leg scraped by an object hidden under a pile of rags.
Tara carefully moved the rags and revealed what had cut her. It was a steel sword, slightly used. Oh, happy day! I have heard how steel weapons are the most common weapons, and essential to any traveler's arsenal! Tara though. She reached for the blade and held it high. She almost dropped it, not expecting it to be so heavy. She doubted she could dodge any attack while wielding this... She decided it was best to save it for when she was stronger. Besides, maybe she could get it looked at and it's blade repaired later. She made room for it in her bag, the weight distribution of the satchel making it feel like it wasn't even there.
Getting over her find, she walked back out into the hall, her hand on her slim sword. She noticed Val calling out to Calvin and Isabel, who had appeared down the hall. She waved to them and walked towards Valorian. "What's all this about?" she asked plainly.

Isabel watched the event between the armored Bern man, Valorian, whatever it was they were holding, and then the fuss over the gem Calvin had found, all while thoughtfully chewing on a strip of jerky. Dear god, the stuff was chewy, and it got in between her teeth... Which presented a real problem. She couldn't really reach up and pick it out (not right now, at any rate), nor could she open her mouth for fear of looking disgusting. So she just attempted to dislodge the jerky with her tongue while listening to Valorian explain stuff. As she got a big chunk of the meat out, she opened her mouth. "Well... That would make sense... Why fight two angry armies when you can fight two battle-weary armies?" she said quietly, more for Calvin's benefit than anything. And then Tara showed up, carrying a new sword with her, and asked what was happening.
Isabel thought it best to let Valorian or this general to respond, seeing as she had absolutely no idea what this little priest was up to. Honestly, at this point, she wasn't in the mood to care. She bit into her jerky again, tearing off a chunk if the dry meat, and then sat down on the floor, leaning up against a small pile of rubble.

Calvin approached Tara from down the hall as she waved before asking plainly what was happening. Calvin explained he might have found the item before his head turned casually to Valorian as he stuttered his name aloud. He let out a friendly smile to greet Valorian. It was good to see him up and moving again so quickly. Although the friendly greeting didn’t seem to last very long, Calvin was quickly ordered to show him the gem. His face lit up with excitement, maybe he did find what was needed! Did he do something good? Oh he’d been so helpful on this trip! He happily skipped over to Valorian and prepared to hand him the gem he had found lodged into the stonework of the fortress. It must have been placed there purposely; nobody drops something INTO a wall, at least not from Calvin’s experience. He turned to the general Valorian was talking to, not sure of who he was.
“New friend? Hi new friend! I hope this helps!”
The pair talked amongst themselves and Calvin nodded seriously pretending to understand exactly what they were talking about, but making it even more apparent how little he understood. The general extended his hand and Calvin gave it to him to let him examine it.

[blue]The General took the gem and eyed Valorian. "Is this kid for real?" He asked.[/blue]
"Don't worry about him. Now...is that what we think it is?"
[blue]The General held the gem up to the light, and then growled taking off his helmet. A full head of graying hair from the middle aged man under that helmet as he stared into the gem. He then waved to Valorian. "Have a look for yourself."[/blue]
Valorian moved closer and looked up through the gem. There it was, plain as day, the royal crest of Bern embedded into the Gem.
"This is it...the Fire Emblem." He said, and more then a few heads turned in surprise. "The royal treasure of Bern, and the item required for succession. With this, you could have any noble rally the people of Bern behind them."
[blue]The General took it and placed it into the golden amulet earlier, it fit together perfectly. "Indeed. But, what you were saying was true. If we focus on fighting Ilia now, then we will all be too weak top stop the real threat."[/blue]
"And Ilia believes they have an alliance with the Etruians, so they aren't going to listen to you. The only chance we have is to convince Ilia to ally with us and fight back against them. We need to give them a reason to not trust Etruians...wait a minute...this is the proof!" Valorian said, pointing to the Fire Emblem.
"That they gave this to you, the Ilian's know what chaos that could cause. If we can prove to them that you have it, they would be more likely to believe our cause. It's that or try to find some sign of this work in Ilia. They are trying to play both of you against each other, I cannot imagine them only doing it from one side. There must be agents in Ilia as well."
Valorian stopped to think, and then looked about the fort. "We aren't going to get any answers here. I'm going to Ilia to find out the truth of what is going on. Can I ask you all to lay low until we've had a chance to resolve this."
[blue]The General nodded with an odd smile. "It's a solid choice. You should probably be some kind of a tactician, you've got a mind for it."[/blue]
Valorian chuckled. "Someone told me that a long time ago."
He moved from the General as he and his men began to vacate the fort. He walked over to his allies and was actually somewhat pleased. "All right, I don't know how much of that you understood, but I'm heading into Ilia from here. I appreciate all of your help. Getting back to the city shouldn't be too difficult." he spoke.

Tara stopped Valorian. "Wait a moment," she said, "that is the Fire Emblem, the royal gem of Bern? How did it end up here!?" shed knew that she was being a bit forward, but she was utterly confused. This is why she never assisted Bryan with political schemes, and why all she did at his dinners was make small talk and serve dessert.
"Anyway, we should guard you, seeing as though you know information that may be vital to Bern's rebirth." She thought a moment about what being his guard could mean. It would entail eventually having to go back to Ilia... Tara would rather try and swim to Valor than go back there, where she was sure the attempts on her life would multiply. She was much better off going south, maybe even to Lycia. But she could not just abandon her new allies... She would wait to hear their thoughts on the matter back at camp, and afterwards make up her mind.

Isabel heard talk of a symbol of flames or some other foolishness and Bern nobility, although she didn't really pay attention to it. Usually, it would be a matter of great interest for her, but hey, she was still hungry and there was still a decent amount of jerky in her hand. And then Valorian came forward, thanking them for their help... And then basically told them to get lost. "What?!" Isabel shouted, spitting out a half-chewed piece of jerky and jumping up from her sitting position. She wiped her mouth clean of a little bit of her spit, not really caring about appearances at the moment. "Valorian! You expect to get rid of us so easily? Ha! I don't care what the others do, Calvin and I are going to keep going with you. You might have need of us... Y'know, avoiding angry wyvern rider's lances. Or I suppose pegasus rider's, considering you're going to Ilia..."
The pupil stepped forward. "And besides, me and you still need to talk, priest" She attempted to pour as much venom as she could muster into that last word. And then she returned to where she had been sitting before, taking a chunk out of her jerky. "Mark my word, Valorian, I intend to come with you."

Calvin just smiled as the general seemed to question Calvin’s existence. Of course he was real! He was standing right next to him. He let out a gentle chuckle. Calvin listened in hopes of good news. The General growled and handed it to Valorian. Oh happy day! Calvin did it, he had found the fire emblem, whatever that was! A sheepish smile broadened uncontrollably across his face! He was having so much fun on his first adventure; to be helpful to others was reward enough for Calvin. He sang happily in his thoughts before he was snapped out of it as Valorian approached the group again. Calvin’s head tilted and his sheepish smile reversed to a frown. Val was leaving? But their adventures were merely beginning! So much fun had yet to be had! Calvin didn’t want to say goodbye to his new friend so soon! Tara wanted to go, and Isabel wasn’t any different. She confidently arose from the floor before ranting at Valorian. Calvin’s face turned to that of determination. Isabel sure was inspiring; Calvin was ready to work harder than ever! Isabel wasn’t going anywhere without Calvin, and Calvin will go anywhere with Isabel. Calvin confidently stepped forward.
“I’m not leaving my friends! I’m going to help no matter what!”

Valorian was going to argue, but he was beset on all sides. He wasn't winning this one.
"All right. All right. No more being a hero, I got it." He said with a chuckle. "I say we make camp around here for the evening so we can rest up, and we can head out in the morning. Not in here, I don't much like sleeping by de-"
The sentence stopped as he realized something. There was one very noticeable person missing. His face took on a look of worry as he looked around hurriedly
"Jya? Jya!" He called, looking around frantically, hoping he wouldn't see her among the slain of the fortress.

Jya watched from the distance and in some way she was also getting drowsy. The only interesting thing she noticed was Tara jumping or rather ducked out of view. The back of her head told her that she could have done better but quickly dismissed it for a better time. Soon she was jolted back to her senses when Valorian called for her. It seemed that the coast was clear so she rushed out of her hiding towards Valorian.
"Hey Val, I'm guessing it went well and look at this, I found this weird sword," she said taking out her new blade and swinging it over her head before underestimating the balance and ending up stabbing the blade awfully close to where Valorian stood.
