Isabel grinned as Valorian realized his efforts to talk them out of going would be futile, instead resigning himself to the fact that they were going, no matter what he said. The girl sat there, chewing upon her jerky, and listened to the sounds of Val calling out Jya's name, Jya responding, the sound of a sword swing... And she frowned. There was no outcry as if someone was being slashed... Probably just Tara or Jya showing off their flashy but useless weapons. No matter how thick a sword was or heavy an axe was or how high-strung a bow was or how sturdy a lance was, they all fell to the might of magic... But those mundane folk had to make do with their lack of magical talent somehow, and weapons were a force to be reckoned with, as the sapphire-haired girl had learned. Armies of sword-wielding men could be raised in a couple months to a year or two, whereas it took most mages a few years to become potent, all one at a time. Perhaps that was why there were no mage armies? Isabel yawned as she suddenly realized how far off her train of thought had wandered.
The girl looked around the fort, finally getting a chance to look at the inside without fear of being gutted. Looking past the gore, dead bodies, and the ravages of time, Isabel could see that the fort had once been an impressive place built of stone. Of course, now it was nothing more than a crumbling husk of it's former self... Ruined almost to the point of being impossible to repair. Why hadn't people hadn't been looting this place for it's stone? That seemed like a reasonable idea, especially if there were no quarries around. Oh well. That was one of those things best not to dwell on.

Tara walked with the group, smiling as Jya, a seasoned thief turned assassin, fumbled with a sword. She didn't want to seem rude, so she stopped once the blade was within inches of Valorian. She walked over to the pair and gently pointed the sword away. "I know that this place is no longer a danger to us, but I do think that we should regroup at camp before counting our spoils... if my opinion is to be taken into account, that is."
Tara wanted to get out of here. Frankly, the place creeped her out. Uninhabited for years, yet it still retained an air of the evil the was once held inside...

Valorian smiled when he saw Jya, and felt a single bead of sweat form and fall from his brow as the sword came dangerously close to his chest. He watched her with wide eyes until Tana stepped up. "Yes yes, of course. This is not the best place to sit and have a calm conversation. Let us go and set up camp for the evening, I could certainly use a bit of respite for the rest of the day."
Isabel's outburst from earlier had only served to remind him, he'd need to have a word or two with her tonight. But first. "Oh, Isabel!" He called to the young shaman. "I never did thank you for your help, and I do apologize for the way I acted. I tend to get like that in combat..." He added sheepishly, moving out of the fortress. "You were all invaluable for this mission, and I feel it would have failed without any of you being here. You have my heartfelt thanks for your assistance."

A playful smile returned to where it once belonged. Valorian finally accepted everyone as friends and now everyone can travel together for longer! Calvin was excited, he had made a lot of new friends and his first adventure was a success. However this was merely the beginning, his mind filled with pictures of his possible future adventures. The atmosphere was calm now that the battle had ended and Valorian accepting everyone into the group. So calm, that Valorian seemed to have forgotten about Jya! Calvin had also noticed she wasn’t around, but the thought of defeat never crossed his mind. Jya appeared out of hiding peppy as usual, flashing her fancy new sword about and almost hitting Val! Calvin chuckled gently to himself.
Tara then spoke up, suggesting they camp somewhere safe for the night. Calvin didn’t dwindle on the thought of safety, but rather grew overly excited at the thought of his first sleepover! Not only that but he’d be camping aswell! Calvin stayed by Tara as Val thanked Isabel for her help. Calvin was already smiling brightly so not much change could be seen in his facial expression. However he did clap gently when Valorian thanked everyone for their help.
“Yay! That was fun!”
Calvin commented, saying not much else. He wanted to talk about everything that had happened, but felt it were best to set up camp first.

Isabel nodded to Valorian. He had thanked her... Well. There went her main reason for wanting to talk to him later. The pupil smiled at both the thanks and the gratitude from the priest. "Well, of course it would have failed without us! Mostly because, you know, you'd have a lance in the chest right about... There." Isabel said, pointing to a random location on Valorian's chest. Isabel smiled, and then fidgeted about with her stuff. "Come on, why don't we go make camp. I'm tired and hungry and I really just want to lay around for a while. I'm also craving something that isn't jerky..." She held the remaining pieces of her jerky in front of her, eyeing them hungrily. "Since we won't be eating lunch for a while..." She shuddered and stuck the dry meat in her mouth.
"Ugh... All right, let's roll. I think the smell of death is starting to cling to my cloak. To Ilia!"
