"There's a network of tunnels under the ground," replied Richter in response to Clair's wondering. "But apparently the one that leads out under the city has been sealed." He nodded again to his armored ally. "He was kind enough to inform us of that. But specifics aside for a second, those woods sound like our best bet of escape." Richter stroke his beard in contemplation. But how would they reach the woods? The current plan was apparently to simply walk out, but Richter doubted it would be that easy.
And as a loud groan began to rumble from outside, he knew he was right.
"I've got more bad news for you. They just closed the gates. Our escape just got a lot harder, they finally noticed."
The pink haired Ilian cursed under his breath. Talk about the worst possible event at the worst possible time.
But before Richter had a chance to think of a new plan, Wyatt began coming up with his own. Essentially, he'd bust a hole in the wall, drawing the city's attention to the aperture, while, dressed as soldiers, the three of them would slip out under the pretense of joining the search part. Wyatt would then retreat back into the city and wait for things to die down before he too escaped.
Richter's initial reaction was to say no, but he swallowed his words. At this point, even a crazy plan like Wyatt's seemed well thought out and rational, and to be frank, they didn't really have any other options. Wyatt knew the risks, and if he was willing to take them then Richter was willing to go through with the plan.
"Alright Wyatt, we'll do it your way," said the Ilian, before turning to Clair. "Any objections?" He felt like he was saying that a lot today.

Ok he was lost and he knew it, Garith had no idea where he was going or where Commander Feldsky and the others had wondered off to. Garith had someway found his way back to his armor and gear and threw it back on and then decided to go into the town and find them himself. They were probably looking for him but sitting around and waiting wasn't something he wanted to do.
"Now let's see where could they have gone?" Garith asked himself as he looked down upon town in front of him. He saw soldiers running all around the town and he wondered if he could pull off being a mercenary looking for a job. Once he had approached the gate he gulped, he was very nervous and wasn't sure this plan was going to work.
"Hey you halt!"A guard shouted from the gate. The city is closed to those without official business!"He shouted at Garith as he then walked up to him.
"Hey don't give me that tone I was hired by your boss himself and he told me to get here as soon as possible!" Garith growled as he shifted the weight of Fenrir on his back.
"Hmm hired for what?!"The guard growled getting in Garith's face.
"I was hired as an extra guard to replace the guard who had leave," Garith said as he smiled. "If you want to tell your boss why I couldn't do my job because you were to dumb to let me in then it's not my head that will be getting chopped off for not doing my job," He said totally bluffing. The guard paused for a moment and was about to go check this but noticed that Garith was one, really young and two, carring some strange gear for a guard.
"What's a kid like you caring a sword like that?" The guard asked referring to Fenrir.
"I'm a mercenary that runs with the Hellbreakers and I'm sure you've heard of Cryger Valkyrie and that's me!" Garith shouted hoping this would work. The guard paused again and thought about it he knew that there was a guard out which was just lucky for Garith.
"Oh Valkyrie eh? Well come on in Hellbreakers are welcome here seeing that Orrith has done business with my boss and their is a guard missing so you must be the replacement,"The guard said showing Garith in. Once he was in Garith quickly ran off from the guard to go find everyone else. When he looked back he saw the guard talking to another one.
"Hey stop!"The guard shouted as he started to chance Garith. This made the boy smile what an idoit for believing him and having to get friends to tell him the truth.
Now to outrun him and find Commander Feldsky. This probably wasn't going to end well but he was going to try and find them.

Tunnels. The Falcoknight's expression soured a bit. Clair wasn't a big fan of the idea of walking around under loads of earth and rock, but she had to admit that they'd be useful now. Even if they couldn't be used to get out of the city, they could still serve to move across the city, and get out of easy sight.
[Red]"I've got more bad news for you. They just closed the gates. Our escape just got a lot harder, they finally noticed."[/red]
Great. So now the gates were closed. It wasn't as if she'd expected them to stay open, but it still added more trouble to overcome.
Clair turned and listened as Wyatt came up with a plan. It was bold, risky, and just crazy enough that it might work. Slipping Richter out among the search party would work fine, and every soldier in the area was bound to come looking once they heard... however it was this Wyatt was going to break down the wall. Plenty of mixing and confusion. Unfortunately, the plan did have a few problems, and each had.a name: Cefia, Derick, and Garith.
"I think this is the best idea we've got, as it's the only one which doesn't involve a checkpoint...." This meant separating again, she realized. She frowned at the thought, troubled by the need.
"Richter, you and your friend should do as suggested." The young Illian said, gesturing to the nameless armored man.
"I have to scoop up my team, so we can get out of here. We got in without causing a scene. I think we can get out quietly too...." She glanced away for a moment, hoping Richter would simply cooperate.
"If the need arises though, I can make a pretty good scene." A slight quirk of a grin touched her lips at the.statement. Simply busting out was always an option. It just required more luck, and a bit of good timing.
OoC: It should be fairly obvious by now that a quiet exit is beyond Clair's group, due to certain actions which have been acted on by certain unspecified soldiers, mercenaries, and pirates. Lol

Richter's expression soured as Clair suggested they split up. It was a bit frustrating that they had to part so soon after meeting up again, but it was inevitable in the situation they were in. If what she said was true, and she had brought soldiers under her charge here, then she was honor-bound to get them out. Richter would never approve of leaving a soldier behind just for his own sake. That would make him no better than the men he was fighting.
"Alright," said Richter, sighing. "I don't like it, but I'll accept it." The pink haired Ilian made a move towards his sub-commander, but halted himself mid-step, instead drawing himself back. No, now wasn't the time for that. They'd have time to talk after they were out of this mess. "I trust you'll make it out safely, just...don't underestimate the situation. The Herald's on a vendetta for my head, and the soldiers that make up his guard aren't pushovers. Trust me, I know." He didn't enjoy the thought of Clair heading back into the belly of the beast, that much was true, but he had enough faith in her to believe that she'd be alright. After all, she had made it this far.
Not wanting to drag out the psuedo-farewell any longer, the rebel commander turned his attention to Wyatt and the nameless Etrurian armor clad soldier, who was holding Richter's suit of disguise armor. The Ilian grabbed the helmet and placed it on his head. "Fits well enough. Since my head's covered, I'll put the rest on as we move. We're on a tight enough schedule as it is."

Wyatt looked back and forth between Clair and Richter. The words weren't saying much, but the faces...he snickered.
"All right then you two, if you're done making kissy faces at each other, time to get to work." He said with a chuckle, moving over to the wall he intended to destroy. "I'm going to take down this wall, then seal the tunnel behind me so it's not so obvious. When I get out of town I'll be heading south along the main road in all likelyhood. Drinks are on me if we live through this." He said, looking over the sturdy wall. "I figure two minutes should be enough time for you to get into position and notify your guys, right? Hope they didn't go too far. Go on then, and be ready."
This was going to be tricky, but he was confident he could do it. And if he couldn't, oh well then. It was one hell of a day, and he didn't mind the end one way or the other. Of course he would prefer living, but most people would.

The Falcoknight turned snappish eyes at Wyatt's kissy-face comment. It was completely irreverent.... Her temper was placated a bit by the fact that it was more or less true though, in a sense. She was just happy that it had the capacity to be true now.
"I'll take your word on their strength, Richter.... I'll be careful. Just don't be found out." And with that, she started backing away. Turning after a few steps, and hurrying down to the door. She shook herself out, both mentally and physically. Time to step back out of her normal frame of mind. Out of the Illian defender mindset.
She pushed the door open, and stepped out, before crossing to the other side of the road. Cefia, Derick, and Garith would all be in the direction of the main gates. Hopefully, nothing too troublesome had happened in the few minutes she'd been away. In the meantime, she worked on making some distance between her, and the imminently exploding tower.

Richter, having strapped on all of his armor, turned to his mysterious companion. The latter, who was rubbing his hands together, had just come up from the guardhouse basement, having finished tying up and stowing away the last of the disarmed guards. Now they wouldn't be able to get in the way.
"How do I look?" he asked. "Etrurian enough?" The other armored man nodded curtly, readjusting his own helmet. "As Etrurian as you'll ever look," he replied. "Which isn't much, but hopefully it'll be enough to fool any of the soldiers we're bound to run into." Richter shook his head. It wasn't exactly the answer he had been wanting to hear, but it would have to do. "Hopefully..." he muttered to himself, before turning to his red-headed, axe wielding companion.
"Alright, Wyatt," announced Richter, bracing himself for the chaos that was soon to begin. "Ready when you are."

Cefia pushed the vulnerary back into Derick's hands. She didn't need it as badly as the soldier did. What were they thinking charging into an armory? Nothing, that's what! To not waste anytime, she began to search through the weapons. She found a newly bound bundle consisting of a barely used steel axe and a more portable but smaller hand axe. Heh it reminded hers that were confiscated beforehand, at least she got a similar set of weapons back.
"Lad, 'ime approaches 'hat we really need luck, hope 'elp rives soon,"she said, hearing the knocks of a concerned soldier probably.

Waytt was a bit taken aback by Clair's glare, but got over it. He gave a grin to Richter and his companion as they left, waiting two minutes as he said. As he waited, he considered what he was doing here. He was risking his life, to a very probable death, for people he didn't even know. When had he turned this suicidal? I mean, he wasn't planning to die here, but nobody ever did. Was this just him not caring since his family was gone?
No. That wasn't it. He still needed to survive. His father had passed this metal on to him, this unknown material that no fire Wyatt had yet found could melt. And this journal that he couldn't read. Somehow, he had to make sense of all of this. He had to survive until he was able to do that, he owed his father at least that much.
Wyatt quickly realized that it had been over two minutes, and shook himself out of his stupor as he raised up his axe "Well....here we go." He said to himself, as the axe edge began glowing red hot. If someone knew what they were looking for, they might see the slight glow of red escaping from the murder slits. And then with a mighty swing, the axe descended. The ground exploded in a shower of magma as the geyser of flame spewed forth. It demolished half of the guard tower and more of it was quickly following.
Damn it! Bit too much power there! He thought to himself as he dove into the cavern. He was barely away from the opening when the groaning of splintered wood and cracked stone above him turned into a roaring crash of destruction as the entire tower collapsed on top of itself. He was knocked back further into the tunnel from the collapse, and got up groaning as he surveyed the cave in. Well, at least they weren't going to easily track him with this mess. Still, he'd need to learn how to control that thing a little bit better.
Without waiting any further, he grabbed his axe and moved back towards the thieves den. Already he was formulating a plan to get out of this place.

Derick felt helpless and stupid. Without a lance, he would have to rely on Cefia for fighting. He peered out of a small window, the soldiers were forming up, and a healthy skirmish was starting to form when--*BOOOOOOM*--"What the heck!?" Derick's combat reflex kicked on as guard tower shook. "Cefia...something's Happen--"
His sentence was cut off by the mammoth roar of thousands of shifting stones. The tower was collapsing before his eyes! The soldiers broke rank, many of them were swallowed by the cascades of stone, those who weren't ran for their lives. It looked like now would be their only chance. He shouted to Cefia, "the guard tower collapsed! Now might be our only chance to get out of here!"

Cefia had managedto just change out of the stupid dress into some makeshift pieces of armor when she heard the boom and Derick's suggestion. Her body grabbed hold of the ends of her axes and kicked the door open in the confusion. She couldn't help but wonder about their luck here. Whatever, the important thing was survival.
Cefia charged into the opening and waved for Derick to come over. The confusion was without a doubt great. It didn't seem the soldiers were interested in them. Most of them seemed to have rushed to check on the tower. Others were scrambling, trying to find what to do.

"Well....here we go."
The phrase had sounded casual, but the result was anything but. No sooner had Wyatt driven the glowing, red hot axe into the ground than Richter felt the ground start to give way beneath him. The sharp wedge split the ground it tore into, and from the ensuing gash spat a fiery plume of molten rock and flame. Wyatt was bringing down the entire tower!
"Wyatt!" shouted Richter. He threw his arm out, a futile gesture as the ceiling began to succumb to the force of the eruption. But as it came crashing down upon the both of them, the axe discharged one, final, immense explosion that slammed into Richter's chest like a boulder, blasting him out of the crumbling tower like a leaf in a howling gale.
And for a moment everything went dark; a swirling, spinning mass of fire, smoke, and dust. But the rebel commander's senses slowly came to, and he found himself spread eagle on his back in a patch of smokey grass. His head was splitting with pain, and his lungs felt like they had been permanently deflated, but Richter had not forgotten the urgency of the situation. Etrurian soldiers would be swarming this spot in seconds, and as he attempted to push himself up off of the debris covered grass, the world began to stabilize around him.
Coughing, the rebel commander looked over to his left, where an armor clad body lay. Richter pulled himself over to the corpse, but his vision was still a bit fuzzy so he could not yet identify if the body was friend or foe.
Richter clutched his ringing head and moaned. With this helmet on he felt like a church bell that had just been struck for noon service. Then looking back over to the tower, the Ilian could only paused and catch his breath. The guard tower was no just a smoldering pile of ruin. If Wyatt hadn't gotten out of that blast, he was dead, and to be honest, Richter suspected he was.
"Ugh, that damn kid," came a voice from the lifeless corpse next to him, attracting the disguised rebel's attention. "No more explosions. I'm done with the explosions." The corpse then heaved, coughing violently. Apparently it wasn't much of a corpse after all.
"Yeah, well you might want to get up," grunted Richter, himself still coughing it up on all fours. "We'll probably be giving our superiors a report in a couple of minutes."

BLAMO! Whatever Wyatt had done, he certainly had made an impact on the surrounding area. The guard tower was in shambles, as she turned around to look. The thing looked like it had nearly collapsed on itself. Hopefully, the bold reld-head had managed to avoid being crushed. Hopefully, Richter, and the other man had as well. Wow! That tower was a mess.
Her mind moved to the next step of the escape. She needed to get her troops! And of course here they came, Garith running up the street, guards flailing about like mad, and Cefia and Derick looking as thought they were about to charge into the breach.
Clair moved quickly, stepping out, grabbing Cefia by the arm as she was waving to Derick, and dragging her back down the road towards the main gate.
"Garith! Derick! Come on!" She gave him a yell, and tried to get his attention, but all hell had broken loose. Whatever anyone had been doing before was forgotten. And there were so many shouts and noise going on around them that it didn't make much difference who was yelling anymore.
She lowered her voice to be as she ran up the road, following a cluster of terrified people. She was speaking just loud enough to be heard by her companions.
"If you go out there, we'll be spotted and run down immediately. It's a diversion. I'm gambling that they'll want to open the gates up to let their cavalry out during the search. Horses are the only thing that can get us away if we run now."
Predictably, she could see cavaliers readying themselves in the courtyard. The gates themselves hadn't been opened yet though. Guards were still posted near the Herald's wagon as well, and the gate winch had someone stationed by it. The only thing they had going was that there were fewer Etrurians in the plaza than before.
"Wait for the chance, and just remember. Kick'em to go, pull'em to stop!" There was a lot more to riding than that, but most people got by on that simple idea. It was only professional level riders, such as cavaliers, and herself, that knew just how precise you could be with a horse.

Why do I always get myself into situations like this! Garith thought to himself as he ran from the guards. He didn't even know where he was going but he spotted Derick and the Pirate lady as he ran past them. He would have stopped but bringing these guards along with him wasn't a smart idea. Speaking of which Garith turned his head to see just exactly how many there were chasing after him and he was surprised. Not that many guards were following him as he expected just about three or four men, Garith didn't count just exactly how many.
When he heard his name being called out he headed to where he had heard the call coming from. It wasn't long before he had found Commander Feldsky. He was going to call out to her but he felt a tug on his armor. It was one of the guards he had caught up to him and was pulling him back. Garith quickly turned around and punch the guard in the face knocking the guard on his back. The Mercenary was then surrounded by guards all pointing their lances at the boy.
"Great I hate lances, I really, really, truly hate lances," Garith mumbled to himself as he pulled out Uprising. "Hey Commander! I might be a little late to the escaping party!" He shouted as he jumped out of the way of a lance's tip. Great now he had to fight his way out.

Derick sprinted towards Clair and looked in the direction of her gesture. Horses...of all the things... Derick had become a foot soldier specifically to avoid riding a mount. He allowed himself the small consolation that he wouldn't have to fight on it...hopefully. "How do you propose we steal the horses?" They were being saddled up, and quickly. The way Derick saw it, they could try to dismount them as they rode out, or they could assault them now and hope they didn't get organized.
