Huh. Was it something she'd said? Elesia watched in morbid silence as Hal wandered off rather than replying to her running commentary, suddenly regretting having brought up the subject. Maybe his parents had been eaten by the things and he was still ragey and bitter? Or maybe he had been eaten by them once and was still mad about... her train of thought ground to a halt when food arrived, unimportant tidbits like the happiness and joy of everyone else hurled aside with the force of a hurricane in favor of going Galactus on some unfortunate stew. The pleasant woman's smile had grown somewhat strained at the sheer quantity of food Elesia put away, but the forest fugitive wasn't particularly worried. More accurately, she didn't care. Being full to bursting was one of her guilty pleasures - not having to ration supplies made living with people so much easier. Didn't make it any easier to come up with good excuses to make her escape after the deed was done, so Elesia went for the next best solution, slipping out the door as soon as the woman's backwas turned. The idea that she had left somewhat of a mess behind was unimportant; she had an IDEA, and woe betide the mortal fools who attempted to hold her back. The tailor proved to be most accommodating, not even asking for payment. Maybe he'd just forgotten? Elesia didn't intend to stick around and find out, she she slipped out with a bright smile and a pirouette, flittering back to the inn at top speed, eager to show off her new apparel to the only person whose opinion she actually cared about. The girl stopped outside the door, still silent as the tomb. One did not simply walk into Mordor a delicate situation without careful planning. ...Ok, planning complete. No proper hunter would give up the element of surprise, so still bare-footed, Elesia opened the door without making a sound, scampering across the floor as quickly as possible before clearing the last few feet to the bed with a flying leap that left her crouched on all fours on the bed with all the subtlety of - well, normal Elesia. "Hal. Haaaaaaaaaaaal." Grinning like the Cheshire Cat, Elesia crept up the bed, determined to get Hal's attention by any means possible. "Look at my new dress! ....Also, hi."THIS IS WHAT HAL WAKES/GETS UP TO.

Hal had shifted a little while laying in bed, this dumb shirt wasn't very comfortable so he sat up and threw it to the floor flopping back on the bed. It caused his shoulder to hurt a little but the pain went away quickly. He had blinked 3 times before dozing off. Seeing that wyvern made Hal do something he hasn't done in years.
Hal could feel the wind blowing into his face, it was a slightly cool breeze. He could hear flapping of wings and felt where his arms should be going up and down in sync with the flapping sound. It was then he had realized he was the one flying, he was a wyvern, then he felt a tug from both cheeks and instinctively dove towards the ground. He took a quick look at his rider, it was Elesia. Some how he was transformed into the winged beast he loved and the one person he cared about currently was his rider.
Before they dove into the ocean Hal pulled up, his tail skimming the water. The spray of water felt good against his face, he hoped Elesia enjoyed it also. Taking another peak at the rider she had looked serious as she did the first time he took a look back, she clearly knew something he hadn't. They quickly were approaching a beach with what looked like a battle, it was those damned monsters attacking people again. Hal flew past one as he heard Elesia's voice. "NUH!" One of the zombies exploded as the duo flew by. Hal grabbed another as he passed as he started to gain heights then-
Hal had bounced in the bed as Elesia had landed, that in combination to hearing "Hal. Haaaaaaaaaaaal." woke him. He saw Elesia crawling up the bed in her new dress. This was the first time he realized that she was... pretty... He sat there in awe for a second after she pointed out her new dress, then it hit him like a ton of brick. He quickly sat up pulling the blanket over his lower part of his body and kinda hunched over.
"Uh....He...Helllo.... Wh...Where di....did you ge....get that? It lo....looks good on yo....you." Hal was nervous, did she notice? Would she figure out why he suddenly covered up as such? His checks turned a shade of red.

...Well, okay, she hadn't really expected that reaction. Elesia blinked owlishly, smile frozen in uncertainty. Was Hal sick? He was oddly red. And topless. And muscle-y. "...Do you have a fever or something?" Immediately worried about him, she crawled a bit closer, putting a hand on his forehead to check for fever, because Nurse Elesia definitely had any idea what the hell to do after that - copying what she'd seen a healer do once was a little far from having any idea how to diagnose.
Other than being oddly warm to the touch, he didn't seem particularly prone to dying instantly. She shrugged, backing off and plopping down on his feet. No good hunter would allow their prey to escape! "Well, um, I don't think you're dying from fever. Probably. So!" Elesia clapped her hands together with glee, glad that she had actually been able to catch him in his room. "Yeah, it is pretty awesome, right? And the ribbon is cool! I was able to save some of the fabric from the old dress, too, so I can patch this one up if I have to." That had been a stroke of genius, even for her! She moved on past the question of how she had acquired the dress with uncustomary glibness, less an example of her subterfuge - there was none - so much as a single-minded focus on her idea.
"So anyways, I was thinking we should find out where the dead people things came from and beat them up." Subtlety and finesse: not Elesia's best qualities. Or qualities she subscribed to at all, for that matter. "The pretty lady from the other day knew, right? Or we could just go wander around and find them all. And stuff. And you should find some clothes too. People get weird when I walk without 'em for some reason, and I don't think it'd be fair if you don't have to too." Nodding sagely, she abruptly shut up, waiting for Hal to reply... his first actual chance to reply, unless he had been trying to talk over her. Hurricane Elesia was in port.

She had seemed to think he was sick or something... Well that's a good sign, maybe. He moved his mouth as if he was going to talk for a few seconds and stopped. He was still really nervous about what just happened. "That shirt was uncomfortable..." He mumbled as she started going into a flurry of loud words. Hal tried to wiggle his feet free as she sat on them with no luck, he was stuck or didn't want to just yank them from beneath the girl.
"Well... You look pretty in the dress." Hal smiled at Elesia, then realized that comment could be taken the wrong way and frantically tried to correct himself "Well it's not like you weren't petty be-fore... I mean it looks good on you, as did your other dress. You're ju-ju-just p-p-pretty in gen-ge-general, y-y-y-yea that's what I'm l-l-lo-looking f-f-f-for." more he spoke the faster he got. He felt like he was a shuddering idiot now. When she spoke of finding and killing the other zombies his wound started to burn, as if it was trying to remind him what happened last time he tried to play hero.
"Are... You sure?... We barely... lived this time. Here watch out." Hal pulled his feet from under Elesia and placed them on the floor. "I think I need to get some fresh air. We'll talk about this later okay?" Hal leaned over and picked up the shirt he had carelessly flung to the floor hours ago and put it back on. Elesia was right, he did need something else. He hated this old person shirt. He slipped on his shoes and went out the front door.
He strolled around town for a little bit trying to think of something to keep his mind off of Elesia's suggestion. Hal made it to the location of the slaughter, things were looking a lot better than his last memories of the place. He heard a girl call out to her mommy and pointed to the sky, Hal averted his gaze to the sky and say a dot circling above the town. "That damn thing has been flying above the town for the past few days. I wish it would take it's ass back to Bern." an angry man said aloud.
The guard that helped Hal up after the fight spotted him. "Hey kid, nice to see you're up. Come with me, I'll get the blacksmith and get you something to protect yourself with." "But...but... I don't fight..." The guard placed his hand on Hal's back and gave him a shove. "Nonsense, I saw what you did out there." "Maybe I can protect Elesia better with armor" The blacksmith took down all of Hal's measurements "Ye armor will be done in a few days. Ny colors you want for it?"
"Both of Elesia's dresses have been whiteish, and she did seem to love gold..." "Umm.... Can it be.... uhhh.... White and gold trimming?" "Yus'um. Hal had left as he started to start his armor. "I think Elesia will be happy to know we're going out to lo-Wait, what the hell am I thinking? I can't fight, that armor will only prolong my life against them by a little bit." Hal had heard what sounded like a whispering sound in the wind, then a woman screamed as he looked up. The wyvern was diving towards him, was he it's pray? It had come to a halt in air and landed stepping towards Hal. It placed it's head on Hal's chest and started to rub against it once again. He started to pet it as the mixed emotions of bystanders were in part awe and part fear.
"Are you the same wyvern I saved years ago?" Hal whispered to it as he hugged it's head. As the remaining town guard with other men started to approach the beast it started to hiss, baring fangs and swing it's tail. It turned in place while swinging it's head around to keep and eye on the threat. Hal spoke up, in an aggressive tone? "Leave him alone, he didn't do anything. He helped you guys for crying out loud. He's not hurting anybody or anything." Hal held on tight to his new friend, he could hear people whispering in the crowd and the guard from before spoke up. "If the kid says it's alright, then it's alright." Another man took a step towards Hal and the wyvern started to hiss again.
Shhhhhh Hal rubbed it's head hoping to convey it's okay to it. "Follow me to the outskirts of the town, near the stables young man. The Wyvern can come too." The two walked as it followed in the air, landing once they stopped moving. "This is a youngin in terms of wyverns, but it looks strong." He patted it on it's side, the wyvern started to growl a bit. Easy boy, I used to make some of the equipment for Bern. I can make a saddle for you if you promise to do me a favor." The man had suggested Hal become a wyvern rider? He started to tremble once again, this time out of excitement, he almost squealed as he nodded his head and said yes. The man spoke in a grim tone "My son was making a journey with his family form Bern to live here. They were going to stay a little bit in a town north-west of here, it's three days walkin distance. It's been almost a month since I heard from him, my old self cannot make the trip out there. Could you ride this wyvern out there and check on them for me?"
Hal would do almost anything to have the chance to ride a wyvern, oh man he couldn't wait to show it off to Elesia. "Once everything is ready I'll show you where you need to go." Hal started to pet the wyvern as he nodded. "It's going to be okay boy, he's not going to hurt you. I will see you again in a couple of days." It almost sounded like it had started to whine as he walked away. He almost ran back to the home, he had to tell Elesia what just happened, well everything except the last part. He opened the door shouting "ELESIA! ELESIAAAAAA!"

...Her? Pretty?
The boiling wave of excitement that had her for the last few hours evaporated in a flash, reminding Elesia that, yeah, people were still hard. Where a few moments before she would have dragged herself along when he spoke of wanting to head out to get some fresh air the girl instead mutely let him leave, bereft of the false confidence that had animated her a moment before. Why had he said that? Did he want to say something else, or had he actually meant to say that? If the latter... why? She really wasn't. No grace, no class, none of the fancy clothes that pretty people wore.
Her good mood evaporated, Elesia flopped onto the bed, comforted somewhat by the scent. She was still tired, honestly, and trying to figure out people this soon after regaining consciousness was... not something she wanted to deal with. Not yet, anyways. She was out like a light as soon as her head hit the mattress.
-Only to jerk upright with a loud hiss of surprise when heaven and earth exploded around her, a cacophony of discordant sound that threatened to split her head open and vibrate through her broken bones. "WHUH." Or Hal's voice. The difference was subtle. Falling back to the bed in the wake of her unconscious fight-or-flight reaction, Elesia suddenly remembered that HOLY crap YEAH EVERYTHING STILL HURT, rolling off her back as soon as her muddled brain recognized that fact... and off the bed in the process.
Gravity 1, Elesia 0.
Scooping up an Elesia-flavored paste from the floor, she looked up blearily at Hal, still trying to figure out what the hell was going on and why this didn't look like her room. Oh. Her head hurt. She smiled brightly at Hal, or at least twisted her lips in a general approximation of a smile. And he was upside down, as was the rest of the room. Maybe she had accidentally inverted gravity while sleeping again. ...Hi! Why are you upside down?"

Hal walked over towards the bed, laid down in front of it , then propped his legs up on the bed next to Elesia. "There, everything better?" Hal gave Elesia a big smile. "So when I was out I had saw that wyvern flying above the city, then I ran into the same guard that helped me up after the zombies, then he took me to the blacksmith who's going to make me some armor, just wait till it's done I'm sure you'll love it, it should help me protect you better, then when I went out I heard something like whispering." Hal had to take a second to catch his breath. "Then I looked up and it was the wyvern, I thought it was going to attack me but then it landed and started to rub it's head on my chest and I got to pet it, then some towns people approached him so he started to hiss and wave his tail around and I was able to hug him and told the people to leave him alone and they listened. It was sooooooo cool. Oh I have a surprise for you in a couple of days." Hal was so excited he started to act like a kid again. He couldn't remember the last time he was this happy.

His enthusiasm was infectious; Elesia found herself nodding along as he continued with his story, her mind clearing from the thoughts of a moment ago. "Wyvern? The lizardey thing from last time? That is awesome. He was awesome too. Are there lots more of them? Do you think I could get a wyvern?" She paused in mock concentration, a much better idea occurring to her. "Or - no, I want to ride yours. I mean, they fly and stuff, right? I've always wanted to fly, and maybe I could rain down fire and... you know, more fire. And stuff. And the zombies couldn't hit us from up there anyways!"
There was a moment of silence as Elesia realized the critical flaw in her plan, her expression sinking. She reoriented herself to sit crosslegged on the bed, her face solemn. "Nevermind, that would be boring." And as quickly as that, she was already back on her game. "But I want to see your pet thing and ride it and flyyyyyyy away now! Um, he won't eat me or anything, right? I'm not very nutritious, though I bet I taste great." Which was a terrible quality for any sort of prospective prey to have, she realized. Oh well. Not like she could help being so amazing.
-But SURPRISES oh man this was like every holiday ever. At once. Elesia didn't actually know any of the holidays, but the mage had said they were cool and awesome, just not in those words, and that festival had been a holiday right? ...Well, maybe that was a bad example. "I like surprises! And armor." She looked at him appraisingly, lips pursed together in deep concentration. "You would look really cool in armor, I bet. Trust me, I'm a real doctor, so I would know. I wanna see it! Where is it?"

Hal had continued laying there after Elesia had gotten up, some how she was able to guess his surprise he had to think of something and fast. "We-well I th-think it scared? The-Then he flew aw-away. They're making my armor right now, it should be done in a couple of days, I think you'll like it." He looked up at her and gave her an unsure look. Not wanting to get caught in a lie Hal tried changing the subject. "So did you eat enough?" Hal brought his legs to the floor, sat up, then stood high enough to plop down on the edge of the bed and lowered his head. "The people of this town has been so nice to me the past few days. I feel bad just taking all this stuff for free. Yeah I know, I helped kill those zombie things but I did it to protect you, not them."
Once again Hal felt guilty. If he hadn't insisted on going to that stupid festival Elesia wouldn't have flipped out the way she did, they probably wouldn't have dealt with the abominations and got as hurt as they did. Now Hal felt like he's taking advantage of this 'hero' title he's been given and taking handouts. He has always worked for anything he got, fighting for your life isn't what he would call work, it was survival.

"Daaaaaaaays?" Elesia made a little moue, untold despair and sadness crossing her features before she remembered she was too excited to actually be unhappy. "I don't want to wait thaaat long but if it's really as cool as you said it was then maybe it would be okay. I bet you will look good in it, too!" She sblack personed, pleased with her immense maturity in being able to wait. Something about Hal just made her feel comfortable, as though everything was going to be alright. It bothered her more that that didn't bother her than that it bothered her. Which... didn't even make sense. Elesia's brow furrowed in concentration as she flopped backwards on the bed, shooting upwards almost instantly when she remembered that OW BACK STILL HURT.
Gingerly rubbing it, she mumbled something under her breath about stupid dead things, then realized that Hal was being serious and immediately shut the hell up. Her willful glee dissipated in short order, leaving behind an Elesia who remembered that she was terrible with people - she could feel Hal, she liked him, but she couldn't understand him. It didn't help that she couldn't comprehend the idea of not taking free stuff when offered the opportunity, but Hal seemed to have a serious issue with it; why, she couldn't tell. "Well, um, it all ended up alright, I think? We still saved people."
Not really able to think of anything particularly smart to say, Elesia cautiously sidled up to Hal, leaning against his side. "And you were cool. So I think it's okay to be recompantsed... recontensed... given stuff." Note to self: less hard words. "But if it makes you sad, maybe we should leave when you get your clothes?"

The next two days had past uneventful, Hal using that time to recover. His old eating and sleeping habits had returned to him, his ability to focus was getting better along with holding himself steady. Morning of the final day had arrived, Hal found the lance a few days ago and kept it in the room with him. He figured he'd need it once again if he plans on protecting Elesia from any danger that approaches the two, with his new armor and wyvern he should be able to do that. He had entered the room where the elderly lady had been sitting. "Um.... mam... Elesia and I will be leaving town soon. Thank you very much for taking care of us, I promise when we return here I'll make it up for you." "Nonsense, you don't have to do a thing for us. The two of you gave this town a second chance, who knows how many more people they would have killed without you two here." She bent over and pulled out a brown package.
"Here's the clothes you had asked for. The tailor had brought them over this morning before you woke up. Change into the shirt now so I can check on your wound." Hal took off his shirt as the lady stood up looking at his shoulder. "It looks like it's healing fine, just be careful not to tear it open." Hal nodded as he slide the shirt over his head. He grabbed the pants and stopped at the door to his room. "It would just make me feel better if I did something in return." He hurried into his room leaving no time to respond and changed pants, he then gathered the little belongings he had and waited on Elesia to be ready. When she was he took her hand as they walked out the door, he used his free hand to wave goodbye to the elderly couple.
The two had gone to the blacksmith where Hal had received his new armor, and got a quick run through on how to care for it. The blacksmith helped Hal into it in another room, as he walked into the room where Elesia had been waiting he spun around showing off the armor. "What do you think of it?" he said with a smile.
After a little bit the two had went on their way, "I had promised to do something for somebody the other day, we're going to meet up with him and he's going to give me the details on the job. I hope you don't mind coming, I don't want to just leave you behind." the two had made it to the stables and Hal asked Elesia to wait outside this time.
Entering the man greeted Hal with a big hello. "I had some extra time to train him the basic flying commands with the reins, it's just like riding a horse and if you jerk on them high he should go up and jerk on them low he'll dive. At least that's if he remembers or listens. You do know how to ride a horse right?" Hal nodded, as he did that the man slapped the wyvern on the saddle and it snapped at him. "Sucker almost got me a few times, now on to your part of the bargain." The two went over to the table where a map had been laid out, he pointed where they were and where he wanted him to travel. He rolled it up and placed it in the pouch on the side of the saddle and helped Hal attach his lance to the other side. Hal refused help when saddling up, he was able to control the beast out the door and into the air.
Flying around the building he came to a hover near Elesia, then with a soft landing. "This is the coolest thing ever isn't it? I don't have a name for him just yet, do you have any suggestions?" Hal hadn't been this excited in his whole life, this was as close as he could get to his reoccurring dream he's had since he was little.
(OoC: If you don't mind keep them moving along to the next town please.)

For her part, Elesia was as quiet as the grave as they left town, making herself as small as possible in hopes of not having to deal with too much more attention than possible. They were nice people, and she didn't dislike them or anything, but they were weird and kept expecting things from her that she didn't know how to do. The forest waif was vaguely aware that she probably wasn't very good company, too focused on looking mousey to really speak up and offer her opinion. It was so much easier with just Hal around, not all of these... people.
Unfortunately Hal made the mistake of letting her ride his raging scaly lizard, which was not only the coolest thing ever but the COOLEST THING EVER HOLY CRAP THEY WERE FLYING AND IT WAS AWESOME. Elesia didn't actually remember most of the trip, save that she had probably had her mouth open for most of it To talk or to gape, or to talk while gaping. Possibly all of the above. There was a dim memory of mentioning offhandedly that the wyvern was cool, and she was reasonably certain that there had been something about Hal being cool too, but most of the rest was drowned in a sea of chatter.
By the time they landed she had calmed down enough to only enthusiastically wave at the flying personification of amazingness rather than mounting and/or hugging it again, but the inner flame of her spirit still burned bright, an inferno of excitement that threatened to consume all in its wake. Or a combination of Hal's patience and her public reserve, at least. Obviously, she was still talking.
"-And your armor is still really cool and you look great in it!" There was something - odd. "White looks good on you. Like it looks good on ME." She vamped for the audience, pirouetting in place with arms outstretched, her dress fluttering around her with slightly less gusto than she would have preferred; it took a few moments to remember that her new dress was shorter and less... billow-y. "I want armor tooooo but it looks kinda heavy and I don't think I would look as good as you. Maybe shoulder stuffs." She drew one finger across one of his pauldrons, silently imagining herself with mighty shoulderpieces so large as to blot out the sun. And her peripheral vision. "...Nevermind."
They had been walking after Hal did whatever it was he had to do on dismounting, she hadn't really been paying attention and certainly been talking loud enough to ensure that he could hear her no matter where he had attempted to flee to, and her mood was slowly dissipating. There was a subtle trace of an oddly familiar smell that she didn't like at all, though its identity was - familiar and alien all at once. It wasn't identical to anything she'd smelled, but there were enough similarities to something that it was occupying a fair bit of her attention, and it was not a good smell. Elesia kept talking anyways, of course, but was starting to pay more attention to her surroundings in a vain attempt to ascertain what it was.
"Well, you could name him Killdeathmurder, which would be cool, but a shorter name might work too." Something that sounded like Hal, obviously, so she didn't have to work hard to remember it. Elesia didn't think that Hal needed to know that particular part of her thought process. Okay, so... Hal. White armor. Awesome. Strong. Ummm. "...No, there's probably a law against naming other animals bears, because only bears can be that awesome." Well... damn. Those were all her ideas. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE what if there was something in one of her books? Elesia strained her memory for something short that sounded cool. "Ummmmm. OH I'VE GOT IT."
Spinning in place again, she slammed both hands down on Hal's shoulders, a predator ensuring her prey could not escape the coming storm. "The sun is strong and white, sort of, I'm not sure if it's an animal and I don't think so but it's a figure of, um, words or something. I remember reading something about Sol being another word for sun, which is dumb because sun is a good enough word for sun, BUT Sol sounds like Hal and I mean it sounds cool too and if it was in a magic book that should be good enough I think." it actually didn't really sound at all like Hal, but that didn't bother her. Besides, they both ended with L, and that was probably close enough. "Also, um, something weird in the village up ahead. It smells really bad. In a samey way, but not really the same. Just so you know."
In retrospect maybe she should have mentioned that before they had reached the outskirts of town.

Hal smiled as Elesia spun in place as she talked about his armor. " I got this color to match your dress. You can try it on later if you want, even though it maybe a little too big on you." He placed a hand on the wyvern " You must be tired boy, we'll walk to give you a chance to rest a little." Hal was glad Elesia had came with him, it would be a boring and quite trip if he had came alone. As she said 'Killdeathmurder' Hal heard what he guessed to be a grunt from the wyvern, apparently he didn't like the name. He laughed as he spoke " I think he doesn't like it" It had startled Hal when she slammed her hands on his shoulders, he jumped a little. He turned to the wyvern when Elesia finally said Sol, " Sol? You like that name?" He had started to honking in approval, or at least that's what Hal guessed he was no wyvern expert. " Sol.... Sooooooooooollllll... I like it too boy, thank you Elesia." Hal gave her a warm smile. As Elesia had spoke of the smell he could see Sol starting to bare his fangs more and hear a low hissing sound. Was he able to sense what Elesia is as well? It wasn't fair, they both could sense something but he couldn't. But one thing did catch his attention, the fact she said it smelled bad and 'samey'. He gave the reigns a slight tug to get Sol to stop for a second, he placed his right foot on the saddle and pulled himself up top and situated himself before pulling the lance out of it's holder. What if what the two sensed were those zombies again? Oh man, Hal wasn't ready for them again, he was nervous and began to shake a little. Sol could sense Hal's change in attitude, he looked back at the boy and whined. He patted him on the side a bit " I'll be okay boy, let's go." he turned to Elesia " S-s-stick close t-t-t-to Sol an-and me, ju-just in case." As they entered the town it had an eerie feeling to it. Hal couldn't find any signs of human life, Sol had began to bare fangs hissing again as he snaked his head from the left to the right and back. Maybe it was just a false alarm and everybody just skipped town because they wanted a change of scenery? Or they could of all taken a vacation together and forgot to leave a note? Hal kept trying to think of stupid reasons why it was empty so his mind didn't wonder to the horrifying possibility of him fighting zombies again.

Listen to this while reading. No, I'm not even trying to be subtle.Elesia was no professional sleuth, but she had a sinking suspicion that something was wrong here. There were no people - ok, fine, whatever. Weird for a village that seemed to have housed people at some point, but whatever. Less people meant less awkward. Really bad smells... ugh. She crinkled her noise, vaguely tempted to set the whole damn place on fire and see if that made the smell go away. Rotten and dead and magic. Bad magic. Maybe. Not her magic, anyways. She continued anyways, not sensing anything... immediately nearby, probably, not that she could have smelled it - whatever "it" was - even if it was there given how overwhelmed the panoply of stenches was right now. Oh, cool, town square! That was an improvement. There was also the bit where it looked like everyone in the area had simultaneously exploded into horrible giblets. Maybe that was what seemed the... second most wrong thing about the area. The magic and dead smell was the worst, but there were a lot of very dead people strewn about the area, many of them in bits and pieces. "Huh. Nothing even ate them." She kicked one of the bodies experimentally, curious to see whether it started moving or just exploded. Neither happened. "So... not predators. I guess. And none have shown up yet. Weiiiiird." The last word was drawn out, teased out of her tongue as her mind wandered. A small part of her wondered if she should care about how many people had died horrifically here, but - Elesia didn't really see the point. She hadn't known any of them, and none of them were Hal, and they might not have liked her there anyways... but the spectacle of savaged cadavers and the occasional valuable - but never any large quantities of gold and shinies, OF COURSE - left her curious. "They could have at least left enough shinies for us. Rude much?" She furrowed her brow to match the rest of her - ostensibly - thoughtful expression, hopefully looking very wise and sage, or at least constipated. "Soooooo. I think something happened here. Aaaand it was probably bad."

Hal was almost fighting Sol just to stay, what caused him to be so uneasy? He was perfectly fine up to this point, did he sense something in the air like Elesia? Hal yanked down on the reigns as Sol attempted to take off, this time harder than before "NO!' Hal grunted. He looked towards Elesia when she spoke of 'shinies' "I... I do..n't think th-that's so-something to wo-worry about." The fear in Hal's voice was clear as day. Sol didn't like something and kept trying to escape and Elesia acted as if it was fine, she sensed something as well.
Shuffling and what sounded like a barrel hitting the ground came from an ally. Hal couldn't stop Sol this time, he took to the air with wings spread out in the direction of the sound with fangs baring and hissing loudly. Hal pulled back on the reigns as he saw a raccoon scurry away from the follow barrel. "Ea-easy boy." Sol landed on the ground backing up slowly towards Elesia. The winged beast once she was next to his wing then wrapped it around Elesia and pulled her close, was he trying to protect her because he could sense the connection to his savor from his childhood? Sol kept hissing and his fangs showing, out of the few time Hal saw a wyvern up close they didn't act like this, what was Sol doing?
"El-Elesia... I'm... Sc-cared..." There was more shuffling and now shouting coming from the ally again, Sol lowered his head and started to growl. A woman screaming for help as she tripping flying out of the ally as one of the foul creatures came shuffling. She breifly saw Hal and his wyvern as she fell to the ground, looking up she screamed "HELP US!" seconds before the zombie raked at her face. Us? Did that mean there were more people? Where would they be at? Better yet, when it was just the raccoon Sol was ready to pounce but now he's not budging.
It looked like a human, it kinda moved like a human, it made sounds kinda like a human, but it didn't fear Sol like a human. It shuffled towards him grunting as Sol hissed.

"Haaaaaaaal." Her voice had a somewhat nasal quality to it, roughly halfway between scared, worried, and bored to hell. "There are more of those dead peoples here and my butt still hurts from last time." She considered rubbing it to prove the point, but even her attempt at perfect sinuous movement was somewhat stymied by Sol's closeness, and by closeness she meant he was wrapping her like a... like... something tight. That simile was gonna need some work. She managed to free one arm to awkwardly pet the flying lizard of awesome while attempting to look very intimidating to the ugly guy. "HEY. You. I'm going to... to dynamic entry all over you really hard if you don't stop being dumb!"
It clawed off the woman's face, completely unperturbed.
Welllll. That was. Huh. Elesia had been pretty sure that would work. "...Can you please stop being dumb?" Her voice was a little less certain, but growing agitated. It started walking towards them, apparently not convinced that she was the most terrifying thing ever. "Um. Hal? I don't think it's as scared of me as it, you know, should be." She wasn't certain who she was trying to convince - Hal, or herself. With all the grace of a naked mole rat, Elesia squeezed her way out of her prison, popping out with an audible sound of broken suction while clambering atop Sol, ready to leap into the fray at a moment's notice while secretly hoping that the wyvern was super ok with this plan. "You - you don't want me to get angry, you know, I could totally kick you so hard you would die, and then you would be dead, and that would suck! I tried it once and it was really dumb."
Wait. CRAP. THE DEAD GUY WAS ALREADY DUMB. What if - oh crap this wasn't going to work, he didn't even think being dead was dumb.
"...Hal? Um. I'm out of ideas. Maybe I'm not a good diplomana... diplo... talker person. Your turn!"
(yeah I wasn't sure if you wanted the woman dead, wounded, or ok in your post, so I just wrote it off at the zombie scratching her face (unknown damage) and moving on to them)
