(ooc: imma time skip this)
It was just about dusk when they reached the foot of a large hill, covered in a thin forest. Up ahead they could see the ruined fortress at the top of the hill. As they walked into the woods Hoff spoke up - his voice was more tense now, the upcoming fight had him on edge and he fiddled with the sword handle on his side.
"Its early, too bright out." He muttered absent minded, then spoke louder "Ill take point, when the sun sets I can see the farthest. I want a good idea of the defences as we get in. Kreseen you follow behind - if things get rough early you will be much more effective at a distance. Duph you are with me." Gah he felt exposed without his cloak right now, but pushed the feeling aside.
As they started climbing the hill the sun was pushed behind the castle giving the area an errie glow. Hoff could still see some of light trough the tree and he hastened the pace hoping to reach be at the castle right as the sun set.

A pair of bandits named Jig and Keeth were on sentry duty near the front of the fort, both leaning up against a tree near the roadside. Keeth drank deeply from an old, tattered wineskin, his eyes beginning to glaze over as the darkness surrounded them. His eyes fluttered open as Jig elbowed him. "Oi, don't 'og the grog mate," he grunted, holding out his hand. Begrudgingly, Jig handed the wineskin over. He suddenly began to chuckle as Jig took a swig. "Oi, didja 'ear that? That rhymed, 'og the grog!" Jig seemed to think about it for a moment, before he too began to laugh. The two giggled for a minute at the simplicity of the joke, elbowing each other back and forth. After awhile the joke grew stale, and they continued to peer out into the ever growing darkness. As the sun began to set directly behind the fort, another pair of guards bearing torches came to relieve them. "Bout time, my rump was fallin' asleep," Jig muttered, as they stood up to exchange places with the new arrivals.
"Oi, what's that?" One said, pointing down the road. The others turned to look, all four bandits peering down the road at the figure of several people marching towards them. One was enormous, easily over seven feet tall. Jig elbowed Keeth sharply, muttering out of the side of his mouth,"Go an tell the boss we might 'ave a problem..." Without a word, Keeth trotted away towards the fort, as Jig and the others stepped forward to meet them, drawing their weapons. As they drew closer, Jig whistled in relief, and the other bandits lowered their weapons. "Well, if it ain't Duph! Back already, eh mate? Who's this with ya?" Jig called out. Hearing his name, Duph waved, muttering out of the side of his mouth to Hoff "Let me do the talkin'. I'll explain later, eh?" As they drew to a halt in front of them, Duph rested a massive hand on Hoff's shoulder. "This 'ere is me new buddy. He wants to join the crew. An I wanna rejoin."
Jig's face went blank for a moment, as he and the other two bandits exchanged puzzled glances. Duph winked at him, an after a moment of thought, Jig laughed. "Righ', righ'. Been awhile since you been back 'ere Duph. Boss might not be so forgivin', but since you brought us some fresh blood, mayhaps he'll be more lenient, eh?" Duph nodded, giving Hoff's shoulder a light squeeze, as he steered him forward. Jig took the lead, and the other two bandits let them pass, taking up the rear. "I used to be apart of this crew. Left. Dun worry about why. But this'll work out nicely, eh?" Duph said, leaning down so he could speak in Hoff's ear. As they approached the fort, a mysterious cloaked figure stepped out to meet them.
(A few moments earlier)
As Kadd sat in his chair, waiting patiently for someone to return with his food, Keeth came tearing into the fort, panting heavily. Kadd raised an eyebrow as Keeth began to sputter out a report. "Boss....people comin'...dunno who.....probably a bunch....got a few....of our guys.....holdin' em...." He sat down hard, still breathing deeply as Kadd stood to his feet. "Showtime already?" he said with a grin. He reached down, grabbing a black cloak at the side of the chair. Throwing it about his shoulders, he raised the hood over his head. Reaching underneath the cloak, he shifted the blue cloak that he always had around his shoulders up, covering his mouth, so that the only thing visible was his eyes. In the coming darkness, the blue of the cloak over his mouth would be unnoticed.
Stepping way from Keeth, Kadd strode across the main room, cloaking billowing out behind him as he stepped outside. He saw two men, one of whom he recognized as one of his bandits, the other he was unfamiliar with. Three of his men had them surrounded, but as they drew closer, several more who were patrolling joined them, until 8 of his bandits surrounded them. "Welcome," Kadd said, his voice slightly muffled by the cloth that surrounded his mouth. "To what do I owe this pleasure...?"

(ooc: woa really sorry man - ive been screwing this off. Not gonna be any more of that >.< Long post to catch up)
As they neared the gate Hoff was starting to get more and more tense. He was aware that this was normal, but couldn't shake the feeling something was wrong. He was starting to have second thoughts about the whole thing. His breathing got faster as he watched the surrounding area trying to keep his senses at their sharpest. As they saw the two men up front he was positively regretting hanging around an entire crew like this instead of just sneaking in.
And then Duph started talking - he already knew the men and.. Hoff's mind was racing. He consciously focused to keep his outward composure, but everything felt wrong. He had said nothing of being part of the crew and... and they were planning on attacking them after all. He gave a weak nod as the man patted his shoulder - it felt heavy and restricting. As they started walking Hoff immediately stepped away not wanting the man holding on to him any longer than needed. He loosened the sword at his hip while no one was watching and still breathing heavily, followed Duph to the fort.
As a man with the covered in a cloak stepped out Hoff's head felt as if it were spinning - Duph was a short distance away, and the rest were behind him. As they got closer to the covered figure he couldnt take the time to look behind him as it were. He kept his eyes locked on the man - he had to be the leader right? He was the one the bandits went to get after all. Trough the darkness all he could see was the man's eyes.. it created an erie persona, but he shook off the feeling focusing instead on the coming fight.
As his group surrounded them, Hoff tried to size them up without looking around too much. It was obvious the man up front was the most dangerous. His walk, his eyes, it was clear now that he was in charge. He wasnt bulky and slow.. not like the rest of the men, Hoff was sure they'd be lucky to land a hit on him. As the rest surrounded them, he caught eye of the castle gate. It was still open. He didnt like the idea of escaping in there, but it would give them a good chance to shake their pursuers.
He thought about the rest of the group. They were all in over our heads, and when the fight broke out there wasnt anything he could do to look out for any of them. He would barely be able to wat himselfch, let alone make sure none of them got killed.
Things had changed. Duph couldn't be trusted, and this was either their leader or at least someone way more dangerous than the fodder they had met so far. As Hoff's head screamed he decided there wouldn't be another chance.. whatever surprise was to be had was right here. They reached striking distance, and the man spoke.
"To what do I owe this pleasure...?"
"Nice operation you've got going. Duph here was telling us all about it..." he waved his hand absent mindedly to the brute next to him "Have made yourself quite the name in town. This is Bulgar we are talking about, they are not known for being kind to bandits"
Hoff showed a crocked grin "Well, to tell you the truth, a group so stupid as to alert every nearby soldier and traveling vigilante... we thought you'd be easy pickings. There is a nice reward in town." He drew his sword slowly, deliberately looking the leader in the eyes. "But there are quite a few of you. Still, you'll loose at least some men fighting us here."
Hoff felt less tense now. After laying out his little speech and with asword in his hand, he was by no means relaxed - but the situation didnt seem as bad now... This guy wasnt stupid like the rest of the crew, he would think before attacking - and there may still be a chance to get out of this. He gave another crocked smile:
"So my offer is this... let us go our separate ways. At least you'll have more men, for the next group of adventurers that make it this way".

"Nice operation you've got going. Duph here was telling us all about it...Have made yourself quite the name in town. This is Bulgar we are talking about, they are not known for being kind to bandits." Kadd nodded slightly at his words, a slight twinkle in his eye the only hint that he was smiling beneath his cloak. "oh, I'm well aware. That's why I set up here. There was bound to be conflict, bound to be battle. I wanted that to happen. It was, and always will be my goal."
The bandits around him chuckled in agreement, shifting in their places, many of them already wielding their weapons. "Well, to tell you the truth, a group so stupid as to alert every nearby soldier and traveling vigilante... we thought you'd be easy pickings. There is a nice reward in town." Kadd chuckled himself this time, gesturing behind him towards the remnants of the fort with a slight jerk of his head. "You're not the first to think that. We had a lone mercenary come through here a few hours ago, thinking we'd be easy to wipe out. How wrong he was. But killing him would be too easy. No, we're having our fun torturing him before we do that."
Duph seemed to brighten up slightly, a lopsided grin painted on his face. "Ooh, caught one while I was gone? You din't finish 'im, did ya?" Kadd shook his head, and Duph's grin widened. "Nothin' more fun then torturin'! How they wiggle and twitch beneath the blade," he said with a laugh. The other bandits joined him in his laughter, as Kadd kept a cool eye on the man before him. As if in answer, he slowly drew his blade, keeping eye contact with Kadd the entire time. there are quite a few of you. Still, you'll loose at least some men fighting us here. So my offer is this... let us go our separate ways. At least you'll have more men, for the next group of adventurers that make it this way".
Kadd stared at him for a moment, before becoming swept up by uncontrollable mirth. The other bandits fell silent, watching as their boss actually laughed for the first time they'd ever seen. Kadd stumbled back, doubling over, holding his sides as he tried to stay standing. When he had caught his breath, he turned back to the man, trying to keep his composure. "That sounds almost like you think you're holding the cards. There is no need for negotiation, because you have nothing to negotiate with. The same thing that's happening to that sellsword in the fort is exactly what's going to happen to you, and there is nothing you can do about it."
Still chuckling, he turned away and walked back towards the doorway. "Take them," he said, and as one, the bandits surged forward to head their leader's order.

Erio sighed softly watching the bandits surge towards them shiny axes all sharp and waiting to bite into her flesh. Yet now was simply not the time for that. As much as she wished too take her spear and ram it up Hoff's rear end for his failure in negotiations she held back, there would be time for that later, now she had to focus on not being turned into mince pies.
"Useless men" she hissed moving around the group and after the cloaked bandit leader, simple rage fueling her speed as she rolled through one of the pea brained oaf's legs and sprinted towards him catching up to him quickly. Without the slightest ounce of sympathy she pulled back her arm and slammed the blunt end of the spear as hard as she possible could at the special place where his legs met a grin growing on her lips. Ebony hair was tossed this way and that from her run but delight was eminent in her amber eyes.
It was simple, the bandits were like sheep, useless for anything without their Shepard. "useless ones, aim between the legs!" she called back at the two she had left behind her eyes not leaving the leader.
(Alright, short but moving it along)

"i'm well aware. That's why I set up here. There was bound to be conflict, bound to be battle. I wanted that to happen. It was, and always will be my goal."
Hoff tilted his head - sure, conflict... its usually fun, but for what. There cant be much in the way of profit out here.. a lone castle filled with a bunch of lowlifes.
As he recited the little story of the tortured merc Hoff gave him a joyless smile. Now that he is surrounded, the man thought he would scare him with what.. more threats? As if the axes and numbers weren't going to be enough?
"That sounds almost like you think you're holding the cards. There is no need for negotiation, because you have nothing to negotiate with. The same thing that's happening to that sellsword in the fort is exactly what's going to happen to you, and there is nothing you can do about it."
Hoff frowned a little, did he really appear that weak? Possibly, the man probably wouldn't be that positive if he were facing a few knights. But still he behaved like his pile of weaklings were a competent fighting force. For shoving around women and children, maybe. Hoff wanted to retaliate but words were meaningless now.
"Hey man, its your crew. Doesnt bother me to slaughter them for you." He muttered as the cloaked figure turned around. Granted the words were slightly more confident than how he felt, but only slightly. There would be plenty of time to take that cocky bastard down. Now he just had to make it past the goons.
As the group closed in on him Hoff was ready - with a jump he spun bringing his sword around and slicing Dugh's shoulder open. Before he could get another hit in however he was forced to jump back as two axes came at him from different directions. The circle was getting smaller - as Hoff turned he was forced to dodge another blow coming straight down at him. He jumped over the bandit bringing his blade down piercing between his shoulder blades.
Jumping forward again he was out of the circle of men but still too close. He spun just in time to see another man bringing his axe down. Too late to avoid it completely Hoff turned his body just in time for the axe cut into left shoulder. Grimacing in pain he lifted his sword, point first into the man's ribcage driving in deep. Using all his strength he pushed the groaning man backwards into the group - to his surprise the man fell back into the oncoming bandits. Have gotten stronger lately, he smiled to himself trough gritted teeth.
Still he didnt want to stand there and fight the rest of them in the open. Turning he ran towards the other side of the castle trying to get near the wall. With the leader right inside the door it would be a bad idea to try and get in that way.
It was dark now, he looked back hoping the others would be alright. He had lost track of them in the fray, but there wasnt much time to go back looking, not with the lot of bandits on his heels. Trying to take cover trough the shadows he looked for a good place to scale the wall. Behind him he heard the bandit's angry yells as they tried to keep track of him trough the darkness.

Kadd smiled slightly to himself, as the sound of the charging bandits reached his ears. Sweet music. He started to laugh to himself, as he made his way towards the doors, when he felt a sharp jab to his rear end. Instinctively, he turned to the side, using the force of the blow as a start, whipping around quickly. Even with his quick reaction, the left side of his rear still stung smartly. Fighting the urge to rub it, he glared at the offender, a young woman with a growing grin on her face. "useless ones, aim between the legs!" she called to her compatriots. The look of annoyance quickly turned to rage at her words, as he stepped closer. "Foolish girl. You'll regret sticking your nose where it isn't wanted." As he spoke, he threw aside his cloak to reveal the sword at his waist. In a single motion he drew the blade and leveled it at her.
"You made a fatal mistake. You should have killed me when you had the chance..." Footsteps from the inside of the fort caused him to turn slightly. Two more bandits emerged, toting axes. "Sorry boss, took us a bit longer to get back down from the roof," one explained with an apologetic expression. Shrugging, Kadd broke his stance, stepping backwards while keeping an eye on the girl. "Whatever. Help the others. Start with the girl," he said, nodding his head at her. They stepped past him, breaking into their fighting stances. "You two make eleven. We're missing three. Probably on lookout, but the battle will probably bring them here," he said absentmindedly. "Finish 'em," he said with a wave of his hand. Stepping back inside, he sheathed his blade and took up a position by the window, watching the proceedings for a moment.
'Well, I suppose it's time that I got into character,' he thought with a sigh. Turning away from the window, he walked across the main hall to the ax that he'd left by the doorway to the old armory. Hefting it, he rested it on his shoulder as he walked across the hall to the back window by the chair where he always sat. Pulling back his arm, he hurled the ax through the window. Removing the cloak, he tossed it out the window after the ax, intentionally snagging the back half of it on the edge of the glass, where it stuck. Nodding with satisfaction, he turned back and walked over to the armory door. Lowering the cloak from around his mouth back around his shoulders, he drew his blade from it's sheath once again.
Resting it on the corners of his body, he drew it sharply to each side, giving himself small cuts on his arms. Raising it high, he brought it down in a chop-like motion on his spaulders, leaving deep slashes in them. Resting the length of the blade across his chest, he jerked it to the side, opening a long, shallow wound on his chest. He finally set the blade to his left side, jerking the blade faster then before, leaving a deeper wound then anywhere else. The majority of the wounds were relatively shallow, and would stop bleeding soon, but the cut on his side would bleed with vigor. Sheathing his blade, he removed the scabbard from his side, tossing it into the corner of the room. Slumping against the wall, he put his hand over the wound on his side, applying pressure to slow the bleeding. He sat leaning against the while, letting out a deep sigh. 'And now we wait,' he thought, his boredom already growing. Unless they were exceptionally weak, he had no doubts that the group would defeat his crew. It was just a matter of how long it was going to take. He hoped that his efforts wouldn't go to waste...

Chaos, the scene had just exploded into chaos all around him. Bandits swarmed in around the group, but Kressen was ready. The glorious thing about shamanic robes was that they hid ones movements very easily. While, the bandits were talking trash, Kressen was slowly moving his right hand, hidden by the sleeves of his robes, to grab his tome of Flux. As soon as he put his hand on the tome the bandits attacked. He whipped the tome out just as a bandit was leaping at him swinging an iron axe.
It was a overhead swing that would come straight down at the young shaman, who just sighed in irritation. Amateur. He side stepped to his right, the bandits swing would miss him and the axe would be embedded into the ground. Kressens left hand would come up and grab hold of the bandits face. Before the bandit could so much as grunt in surprise Krssen had gathered power into his hand and formed a single word. "Flux."
Dark magic would pour from Kressens hand into the bandit’s face tearing into the man’s flesh and searing away his life force. A horrid gurgle would be the only sound the bandit made before Kressen released his hold allowing the bandit to fall over dead. He'd look up to see Hoff leaving a trail of dead and injured bandits behind him to rush towards the castle. Erio was was facing off with two other bandits so Kressen would move to aid her.
The problem with that was there were several injured bandits between him and her that he would have to go through first. Two of which that were looking at him and their dead compatriot with looks of fear and anger on their faces. Attack now while they hesitate! He pointed his left hand at them and yelled in a thunderous voice "FLUX!"
The dark magic raced toward the left bandit, but it barely grazed the bandit. Kressen wasn't very good at aiming his magic over distances of ten feet. He could easily hit opponents within that range, but the only problem was that they could run up on him and try to swing at him. He got lucky with that last bandit, but these two may prove more of a challenge. They let out a wild cry and charged as Renji started his spell again. They are about forty away so hopefully I can take one more out.

"Excuse me sir. But you're standing in the way." The man atop his steed politely caught the attention of the upstanding gentleman standing before him. He sat there patiently, with a smile on his face as he looked at the intelligent man.
His body seemed to snap around, looking at the man who stopped him from the teat party he was surely head towards. Such a dapper gentleman, he pointed one of his comically oversized hatchets, a growl in his refined reply. "In the way of what, red?" He smiled, looking as though he was simply ready to throw hands. How barbaric.
"In the way of JUSTICE!" The man exploded. Whoops, can't attend the country club looking like that. The burning flesh of the man collapsed unto the ground as Elias' outstretched hand was wide open like it was a cannon. A devilish smirk laid on his face. "And that is Sacae. Now all I need is Nabata!"
He patted his horse on the side of his head, his laughter growing exponentially as the excitement filled his bones with glee. "C'mon demon devil monster evil horse, lets go! Show them they can't outrun hell!" He laughed in an absolutely giddy fashion. It's been so long since he's fought something that wasn't zombies or dogs. Bandits might as well be zombies or dogs, but atleast they moved and talked like they were real people or something. The horse galloped at high speeds, being such a quick steed that it was. A horse bred for speed, but Elias wasn't in possession of such knowledge, as far as he knew it was his demonic heritage.
"That's two now." The other one wasn't ever worth a witty description of the actions that led to his demise, but suffice to say it was pretty JUSTICE.
He hurried quickly to the building, he heard noises that sounded like fighting inside. Did this mean he wasn't here first? BLASPHEMY. He needed to hurry inside and quickly! He hopped off his horse, since buildings were the horse's only true weakness! Those and stairs.
Never one to pass up the chance for a stupendous entry, he burst through the door, a fireball exploding in the air to a thunderous boom, easily catching the attention of everyone nearby. If that wasn't enough he began to should as loudly as his voice would carry. "BANDITS FEAR FOR JUSTICE IS HERE! THE CRIMSON MAGE ELIAS WILL PUT YOU DOWN!" It was faster to alert everyone was here so he could take them down at once, plus it simply was fun.
There was... about ten, nine? Maybe eleven, regardless predictably all their heads snapped around at the loud intrusion. There were other people too, but they didn't look like bandits. Or if they were they had convincing costumes. There was one charging at this cloaked person, he made a judgment call. Blow up the guy in the cloak, or the guy with the axe, or both. He summoned up a fire spell, slinging it with great force as it collided into the man, knocking him clear off his feet as the magic exploded and he slid a bit before colliding into the wall.
"Score one for JUSTICE!"

(ooc: first part is mostly irrelevant)
Hoff followed the wall a bit further trying to see a way up while in full sprint. Turning a corner sharply he kept his run still hearing the bandits at a distance. Finally he saw a long window only about 10-15 feet from the ground - it was tall and thin, the kind an archer would shoot trough. Keeping his momentum going he scaled the wall quickly grabbing onto the ledge with his good arm. Turning himself sideways he barely manged to squeeze his upper body trough and with some force the rest of him was trough the thin opening.
Just as he manged to scramble inside he heard the bandits yelling below him. He fell trough the window into a dark hallway, grunting loudly as his face collided with the cold stone. How graceful he muttered to himself as he sat back against the wall holding his shoulder - the bone looked broken and it was bleeding a lot by now. Hoff reached into his pack pulling out a vulnerary he drained the contents into the open wound leaning back for a bit waiting for it to take effect. Not wishing to take longer he stood up looking around, trying to gain his sense of direction again.
As he was about to take off he heard a pair of voices from the other end of he hallway. Loud footsteps followed and suddenly a torchlight could be seen as they neared the corner. Having nowhere to hide Hoff jumped back into tall narrow opening - it was just barely long enough for him to stand up straight still fit, balanced on the ledge. Just in time as the light illuminated the hallway and he could now hear the two men clearly.
"Hurry it up!" One of them was saying, a gruff low voice, probably belonging to a large man "Boss cant be thinking we are skippin' out on work!"
"Im going!" A higher voice this time "Boss can screw himself, our post is on the other side of the castle. But with all that noise, there is definitely something going up front. You think Duph got back?"
They reached Hoff's hiding spot and kept running not noticing him in the window. The smaller man was carrying the torch, and next to him was the larger. Both men had their axes out as they ran past - before the other could answer though Hoff jumped inside chopping hard into the torch carrier's arm.
The man screamed and dropped the torch - the other was turned around yelling swung for Hoff who easily jumped a good distance away. Taking off a dead run back towards them he slid kicking the still lit torch down the hallway as he took another swipe at the thinner man's waist. The blade hit cutting his gut as the man gave another loud yelp. It suddenly got dark as the torch slid all the way down the hallway.
The larger tried another chop but with the darkness his axe only bounced off the stone floor with a spark. Hoff's eyes were still getting used to the darkness as the wounded man gave a wild swipe in his direction, not nearly close enough this time.
"Where.." The larger panted "Listen for him!" He was saying as his wounded companion screamed and tried another wildly inaccurate slash. This time Hoff slowly walked against the wall until he was behind the larger. He jumped bringing the blade point up into his side, ramming him forward. The smaller wounded man turned with his weapon swinging and collided hard with the other bandit's head splattering blood everywhere.
He only had a few moments to think about his mistake as Hoff jumped from the shadows driving the point of his blade into the man's neck kicking into his legs viciously. He choked, lost balance and fell hard against the wall, laying still in the spot where he fell.
Hoff took a moment to make sure neither man was moving, then took off in the direction where they were going. He wondered for a moment if he was oriented properly until he heard a series of loud booms.. he couldn't think of what could be going on but that had to be the way back to the entrance. Taking off at a dead run again he suddenly appeared near another brightly lit doorway. Moving against the wall he peered inside the well lit open room. There was a chair and a broken window, Hoff immediately recognized a large piece of the cloak the leader was wearing snagged on the glass.
His eyes scanned the rest of the room - suddenly on the far side from him he saw what looked like a body. Hoff's mind suddenly brought up the merc the leader had talked about. Another loud boom from just outside the main entrance.. that was definitely unnerving. He stood up walking inside bloody sword drawn, eyes continuously darting from the door outside to the body on the floor.

As he lay there bleeding slowly, Kadd listened with half an ear to the proceedings outside. He began to wonder how long it would take the group to reach him, when he heard footsteps coming down the hallway. It sounded like some of those lazy ingrates had returned from patrol to join the fray. He gritted his teeth in annoyance, loathe that they might accidentally stumble upon him in his poor condition. His mind raced as he thought of how to properly react if they did see him, as the light from a torch drew closer to the room. As if in answer to his thoughts, their progress was halted, and there were sounds of a scuffle. Much yelling ensued, as the torch came skittering closer to the room, stopping just short of the doorway. He was surprised for a moment, but slowly closed his eyes, waiting impatiently.
A short time later, he heard footsteps enter the room. Slowly opening his eyes, he saw the man from earlier who'd drawn his sword on him, the blade in question smothered in crimson blood. The way he was looking about, he figured the man might think he was dead, so he shifted slightly, letting out a low groan to attract his attention. He lolled his head to the side, as if he was using the last vestiges of energy to move, fighting to keep conscious.

The ride to the site of the bandits' hideout was stressful. First that red guy went bounding off without inviting him and then Grayson went and got fined for tying Mr. Cobblepot to the post of a vendor stall. What was he supposed to do? The stables in town and the hitching post outside the inn were all full! It wasn't his fault they didn't have better horse parking!
Still, he was finally on his way and it was quite exciting. A real infiltration! He'd dealt with bandits before, but never like this. It set Grayson on his path, finally doing a legitimate job as marauding defender of the people. Though, to be honest, the archer wasn't sure how long he would keep at it. Yes, it was exciting and fulfilling to crusade against oppression, but he tended to change his mind on a whim. Grayson wasn't sure when, but he knew he may decide to do something else down the road. So he decided to savor it while he was still interested.
The large castle loomed in the distance as the horseman galloped down a hill. His keen eyes spotted two dead men on the ground and more at the entrance. So that man, Elias was his name. He had already been there. At least Grayson hoped so. The other option was that one of the bodies was his.
Veering to the east, the horseman galloped past the dead bodies until he found a good spot on the wall. A spot with good hand holds. Soon enough, he spotted a portion that was pitted with stones jutting out. The remains of a ballista bolt protruded from the top of it just under the parapet. Grayson grinned at the sight. He couldn't have asked for a more perfect set up. Using his hand to vault himself out of the stirrups, the arcrobat landed on top of his horse's back and rode him standing upright.
"I'll see you when I'm done, Mr. Cobblepot! Wait for me!" he shouted before leaping onto the castle wall. He grabbed hold of a loose stone, parts of it crumbling away. He then placed a foot on another and vaulted forward to catch another stone. The acrobat quickly climbed the wall up to the broken bolt and jumped to it, hoping it would hold him. As he grasped the shaft of the bolt with both hands, it began to creak. The stones above it budged and started to slide towards him. The archer's eyes shot open at the situation. Quickly, he kicked off from one of the pitted portions of the wall and swung back and forth on the bolt. Every swing caused the stones above to come even more loose. With one final swing, the acrobat vaulted himself upward and flipped backwards onto the bolt. The impact from his landing caused the bolt to crack and the stones above finally crumbled into a pile, some falling below. Thankfully, Grayson had already grabbed hold of the parapet and hopped onto the wall.
The archer watched as the stones and ballista bolt fell.
"Guess I'm not taking that way out." he mumbled to himself. As he neared what looked like a way in, the sounds of battle were heard. Including explosions much like those he remembered Aaron creating. Well now he had his destination. He jumped down and found the room in question. Thankfully, there was a way in through the roof in the form of a crumbling, broken off bit of ceiling. The archer took out his new short bow and looked around. To his relief, he found Elias slinging around flame. So he was a mage. Grayson seemed to have a habit of bumping into those types. Gabriel, Aaron, that one kid who's name escaped him, and now Elias. Well. No time like the present.
Grayson took aim at a bandit near Elias and fired. The short bow was much different in how it felt than his previous bow. But it was much more tightly stringed and less cumbersome to use. The arrow he fired sunk deep into the man's shoulder, but he didn't have much time to react as he found Grayson's boot-clad feet flying into his face. Before he had a chance to stand, another arrow was fired into his skull.
"Nice seeing you here." Grayson casually said to Elias, "Have I missed much?"

Erio sighed softly running a hand back through her hair as she glanced around at her current perplexing situation. The leader had gotten away with ease, she would simply have to fight him later but now...these goons. They both looked rather muscled and toned little doubt in mind that they could snap her like a twig without even the slightest effort. Small unpalatable eyes stared at her testily before the two dashed at her the fearsome axes raised ready to strike.
She sidestepped them with apparent ease a smile blooming on her lips as a plan began to form "now now children" she called towards them tossing her dark locks out of her face with a flourish. "You seem to quite the daft ones are you not? I do wonder what your mother's thought when you came out of her, I doubt she believed you were worth the pain of carrying such fat oafs such as yourselves."
Erio smiled innocently at the two waiting for them to warp their tiny brains around what she had just said. After a few long silent moments of Erio beaming at the two and the bandits staring to each other in confusion they finally understood round and pudgy faces growing red with rage as they let out a loud cry and charged vengeance for the unjust degradation of their mother's love in their eyes. Smiling she dove out of the way quickly pulling off of Hoff's or more well known now as her cloak off letting it billow for a moment before waving it like a flag.
The corridor was enveloped in darkness as gusts of wind put out the torches on the wall the two blundering idiots letting out twin cries of surprise. There was no light to see by, both of the two sides unable too locate the other. So she simply crouched down along the wall sticking out her spear at what was around knee length waiting with baited breath for the bandits to move.
"Stay still!" one hissed rather loudly "she still here." There was no movement after that and she sighed pulling out a coin and tossing it to the opposite end of the hall. "GOTCHA'" one shouted triumphantly two pairs of feet slapping the stone as they barreled towards the noise before....
A loud crash was heard as the two tripped over the lance and falling into a pile with twin shouts of pain. She hoped they had each other affixed onto those axes permanently, at least one was by the warm liquid seeping through the cracks in the stone. Not wishing to stay around she pulled back her spear and ran off after the leader her heart pounding.
The lass ran this way and that searching for anyone besides for more pea brained oafs and finally coming into the light of a room and spotting her companion. She stalked over casting a lazy glance down at herself, clothes stained in the warm crimson blood "how are you?" She asked smiling kindly as she handed back the bloodstained cloak and took a look around an injured man laying along the wall.
His face was not one that she recognized but he seemed to be rather tuckered out... "Hello" she said softly bending down by him wondering what uses he could be for, meat shields were always in short supply.

Is everyone and their grandmother here to kill these bandits? Kressen was just about to hit the charging bandit with a spell when out of nowhere a fire spell, cast by one ofthe patrons at the inn, blow the bandit to hell. He had turned to look at the source and saw another bandit running up on the stranger. Before he could react to that another stranger, whose hair could pierce the heavens itself came in and dropped the bandit.
Well they can obviously take care of themselves. He turned around just in time to see Erio luring the bandits away into her clever trap. "Looks like I'll have to be quicker if I want to have any bandits to my self." He starts to walk towards the door Erio just went through to go and try to track down the remaining bandits. As he walked by the pile of bandits Hoff had defeated one of the less injured ones tried to rise.
Tried being the key word in this instance. As Kressen walked by he extended his hand to the struggling bandit. “Flux." The dark magic would tear into the bandits face ending his struggles. Kressen would then disappear inside the building to look for more unfortunate bandits.
(OOC; Alright I hope you don't mind, but I assumed there was an injured bandit left over from your scuffle since you never specified how many were attacking you Hoff. Also i need help setting up the character stats and summary at the bottom anyone care to help me out?)

Hoff smiled taking care to keep his face blank as Erio walked in carrying his cloak - he was glad she didnt appear hurt and decided to say so "Glad you arent dead" he said bluntly as he took his destroyed apparel and threw it over his shoulder. The slight twinge of shame for leaving two youngsters behind wasnt nearly enough to warrant him thinking twice about it - it was a fight and he was trying to win. Being slowed down by them wouldn't help at all, and he didnt mind feeling bad about thinking this way. Winning isnt easy and anyway it had all turned out ok in the end.
"Whats going on out there?" He added while getting closer to the man - he seemed alive still and was moving rather weakly. He sure looks worse for wear though, Hoff grimaced to himself standing behind Erio looking over her shoulder. He assumed she could manage wounds a lot better than any of Hoffs attempts, though there probably wasn't much hope or this guy anyway. There was a vague sense of familiarity about him but the rogue couldnt quite put his finger on it. It was probably unlikely that he had met him somewhere before but unable to remember it, so he shook the feeling off.
Hoff nodded as Kasteen finished off the man and went further into the building. Mentally he was again relived that he had also made it trough the scuffle and thought it was probably good to check the rest of the place out. Nasty surprises in the darkness were never fun.. Hoff smiled slightly at that thought.
Pointing to the window he added "Too bad. I was excited to make him eat his words. Probably quite a ways away by now." He thought about calling him a coward but Hoff personally didnt consider that much of an insult and instead settled for "What a looser."
(ooc: let me know if i misunderstood Kas, the way i read it you headed away. you can change stuff like that under "profile" at the top, id ask in the cbox or make a thread though)
