It had been a long time since he'd been here, the man thought as he walked through the streets of Delfia. This was where his downfall had really started. He'd been here with Alexia such a long time ago...nearly ten years. That time...that was when everything went wrong. He hadn't realized it at the time, but the mysterious 'Prophet' had started taking over shortly after that. Of course it was some time before he had total control, but the evidence of his corruption was clear when one looked at it from the start.
And so he Returned to where it began. To have a Reunion with the man who'd Ruined everything. Everything they'd fought and died for, this man destroyed it in an act of avarice. Lumino knew that he had to do this. It had to be him, he was the only one who could. The only one who had the power, the knowledge, and the Resolve. The world was full of darkness, and while ending this tyrant's life would not fix that, it would be a blow strong enough to destabilize the power structure. It would be the moment of hesitation that was needed to draw an end to this chapter of conflict.
The Research to find the name of the man he sought was difficult, to say the least. But finally it had yielded fruit. Some of the earliest papers, Soul Notes they called them, had been signed by him before he discarded his real name. And he felt the bile rise in his gut as he recognized the name, from a life long past.
"Kraft..." He growled, crushing the paper in his hand, where it then burst into flames. Of course, how did he not see it before? That damn thief! The only person able to capitalize on St. Elimine's power had to be there when she died, and that was a minimal amount of people. So while Alexia and Matthias killed the imposter...this scum stayed behind and usurped control, using the faith structure of Etruria to grab power.
A Revolution caused by one opportunist in the right place at the right time. How Revolting. As he walked down the street cursing to himself, he became aware of a face next to him that struck a memory in his mind. He turned and looked at the board outside one of the many inns lining the road, staring at a wanted poster.
The faces on it looked very familiar. Alexia...Matthias and...oh gods...he was on it! Granted the picture was from when he was a child, but it had been aged slightly, and the resemblance was strong enough. He stood for a moment looking at it, when he felt a metal hand clamp down on his shoulder.
He tensed up and looked over his shoulder to see a man, head to toe in armor, standing behind him and holding a lance in his other hand. [red]"Excuse me sir, I need you to come with me for questioning."[/red] He spoke, the grip on his lance saying he was ready for combat.
Interrogation by the Inquisition. Yeah right. Without pausing a ball of fire burst from his hand, tearing through the armor, flesh and bone as the man gave a mercifully quick scream, before falling to the ground amidst a flash of Red. He looked around, as screams and cries filled the streets, and ducked into an alley to try and lose his pursuers.
Why was he doing this again? Fighting and running from a faceless foe, mowing down all of those who got in his way? Revenge? No, this cause was Righteous. No mere Rampage of Ravenous wrath. He turned another corner, confronted by two guards at the other end of it, charging him. With a swing of his arm and an uttered word, a bolt of lightning struck between them, blasting them both into the stone walls. If they lived, pursuit would not be on their mind. But he did not stop, he continued his fleeing until he heard a sound from down another side path. He glanced down it to see a head poke out of a door built into a wall. He raised his arm as if to cast, but the whisper stopped him.
[blue]"Here! Come here, I'm on your side!"[/blue] The voice called, waving him over. The sound of metal boots on the cobblestones caused the Sage to react quickly, diving into the secret passage as it was shut behind him.
[blue]"Quite a show out there."[/blue] He heard the man speaking. [blue]"I take it you're new in town?"[/blue]
