To say that Jya has disappeared would be somewhat accurate. She didn't want to get herself involved in the matter anymore. It would be bad if Lyrt found out that she had the ring and there were too many witnesses at the spot. She had a sinking feeling that the longer she stayed around, the more likely she would get caught. The air there had become tense, enough so that it made her a tiny bit on edge as well.
She had only taken a few steps around the street. Her steps were kept light and her breath was just as quiet. Now that she was alone and had time to think about the situation, she began to examine the situation in a new light. How long is Lyrt going to be like that? The simple little ring would delay them to say the least. At that thought, she felt her boot twist around and head back towards Lyrt. Then again, she would be most likely be accused for the crime, justly so at that! This caused her to turn around once again.
As she walked farther and farther away, the guilt was lingering still. It wasn't the guilt of stealing the ring, oh no, she felt no guilt about stealing at all. It was more so her lie to her friend and causing her to trouble herself over such a little problem. That girl would be bothered by a death all the way across the continent if she knew about it!
At last she decided and ran back to look for Lyrt. Her companion would believe her if she said she found the ring. Besides she could always drag her away to tell her the news. Nobody else needed to know... Even though she ran, she had to weave in and out of the crowd, costing her precious time. She hoped the girl had not gone far from the place and when she noticed a green haired man that she recalled talked to Lyrt, she couldn't help but pass by.
"Umm excuse me, have you seen my friend, the ummm white haired Sacaen?" she asked. It never hurt to ask.

Cen stared at the man. He didn't like this very much. He seemed courteous, and had apologized. Cen had no reason not to believe he was going to make a payment. He simply didn't. There was no need for logic, it was a question of faith, and faith Cen had. He needed a way to explain it, but couldn't voice the thoughts racing through his head. A few people brushed past him, and he payed them no mind. People always moved towards tall people, he didn't know why. Focus Cen, he thought. His duty was to fight, no think. That sounded incredibly idiotic. Cen was moderately intelligent, and could think of a solution, or a test. He didn't want to follow the man to the payment deal, and he didn't believe the man was late for his bills. There seemed to be no solution but talking. Great, country boy was fantastic at sounding intelligent.
Cen smiled as he spoke, "When you lie to someone, it's respectful to give them your name, or at least a fake one. True, I saw you drop the pouch of coins Ah'm in possession of." Cen patted his chest, "But since you addressed the question to Miss here, I'll let her give you an answer." Cen's suggestion would be to make him find the ring the man from before had lost. Cen didn't care too much for greed, but an engagement ring? A symbol of two peoples affection didn't need to be pawned off, and Cen would have a few words to say to whoever stole it. Then a shadow of a woman walked up.
"Umm excuse me, have you seen my friend, the ummm white haired Sacaen?" The one with the big eyes. She was friends with this green woman. Cen cleared his throat, "Last I saw, ma'am, she was conversing with him." Cen motioned with is hand toward Vander, and let it fall. This was going to be a long day.
Ooc:I hope at some point, Cen can be on friendly terms with Vander, but I'm enjoying a nice guy being angry for once.

Lyrt sighed softly watching between the golden haired man from before and the her last lead to the lost ring. He had said he had no idea where it was, he did not even seem to know anything about it in the slightest. There was little she could do but take his word for it, if she didn't do that she would have to distrust everyone's words. He had given no reason for her to distrust him, so until something like that appeared she would blindly trust him. Treating everyone fairly was hard, but it was the most morally correct decision to make.
She smiled up at him kindly accepting his kindly offer "T-thank you very much sir for your time." The air felt tense, and it would be horrid if violence was caused because of it. "Also...please don't stab an eye out, if you feel the need to get rid of your anger there are many ways that you can do so without a blade or blood being drawn. Please consider!"
Then with a hasty and rather stiff bow she ran off into the crowd to chase up some information that may lead her to the ring. She questioned quite a few people all who were unable to answer any of her questions about the incident. It was almost as no one was able to see the crime, maybe he truly did drop it without knowing. Crimson eyes plastered to the ground she continued to weave through the crowd searching for the ring.
It was tedious, long, and hard work but it would all be worth it from the thanks she would receive. The karma would be needed on the trip, and it would be well to bend it in her favor even if only a little more.
Suddenly a familiar flash of green met her eyes and she straightened up hurrying over to meet with her companion. "Jya!" he called waving trying to get her attention as she slowly made her way over towards her "I am sorry for leaving so suddenly..." The lass bowed her head in apology to the raven haired girl "I am truly sorry, have you had any time to search for the ring? I have found nothing...You?"

The man was determined to stay angry at him!
Vander had to think a moment on his reply; the Sacaen girl might be more reasonable than the country boy (what a ridiculous twang the blond had), but he could never know for sure, and the two were of like mind...
Well, he could lift the coins off them, as a last resort, so he would play their game for a while.
With some added rules, of course.
"So," the thief said steadily, attempting to keep a straight face before relenting to a smile, "if you are willing to accept a fake name, then you can call me Philemon Warder, traveler and--"
"Um, excuse me, have you seen my friend, the um white haired Sacaen?"
...
'Philemon Warder' was starting to hate these people.
His feelings that too much was happening at once cemented themselves when another person interrupted, making for far too much noise in the little circle of travelers; unfortunately, it was the girl from earlier, but fortunately, she appeared to be the "white-haired Sacaen" that the woman in green had been searching for. At the very least, that solved one conflict; based on the ensuing conversation, however, the issue of the wedding ring had not.
After waiting politely for the albino girl to finish--he was a thief-for-hire, after all, not a savage--Vander turned to finish his response. "I have already agreed to help, regardless of which name I give you," the smile from before was back, "but I would appreciate a chance to finish my other business first. And, since that is apparently your decision, madame, I would request that you make it quickly. Not rushed, but quickly."
It took him only a moment before he realized that he could very easily be taken for one of those pompous twits that Lucius often kept tabs on, the noble sons and daughters that either crept too close to his business or, more often, were the center of his business.
Well, there was nothing for it now, and it wasn't as if he could make things much worse provided he was polite...-ish.

Cen shook his head. This commotion was a little much. He pulled the coin purse from it's place and tossed it to Vander, "Just take it, I sincerely hope this wasn't money for someone's food." He turned to the others, the pale haired girl and walking advertisement to the color green. He smiled and said, "Ladies, I don't think you both should stay here. You're getting some looks that aren't exactly savvy." Cen turned toward Devorah, smiled an said, "Care to join me?" The country boy walked out of the city.
Ooc: It's not long, and it's open ended. Feel free to finish when you want or feel free to keep it going (Vander). Sorry I couldn't say anything to to Val, but he was far away and I wasn't sure if you were still here. Thread ('Least for me) Fin.
