Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Battle Arena! Let me give you a quick run down on the purpose of this forum.
This is an event forum, it is to be used for any topics pertaining to the Bern Annual Tournament of Arms. Fights will be done in the style of supports, and your title should include the PC fighter(s) as well as which round it is.
EG: Tut (Round One)
Implies that Tut is fighting an NPC for round one. While.
Aurek vs Clair (Round Three)
Shows that two PCs will be fighting.
Even if your name is not in the title, you are allowed to post in any and all topics in this thread (and since your posts here are counted, it is advisable!) as a spectator. Keep in mind, some people are in the stands (Kenshin) and as such cannot be spoken to by the gladiators who are observing from the floor.
Standard rules of RPing apply, no power playing, godmoding, or metagaming. Play your character fair and realistically. Many of us are going to lose, instead of trying to cheap your way into a win, make the fights as fun as you can for everyone involved.
All Round One fights will be running simultaneously OOG, even though they would be one at a time IG. To this point, do not talk about a Round One fight in another Round One topic, as it can lead to some odd questions about when things are happening.
The list of opponents will be put up here, so watch this space!

I have also included your nicknames that the arena gave you.
Wyatt (The Volcano) Valcrist (The Lost Blade) Richter (Ardus the Shadow Slayer) Yaen (Prince of Blades) Clair (Rising Lance) Mana (Maiden of the Blade) Tut the Mad Aurek Whitebeard Edrick the Pale Perrin the Devout Light
Think I got everyone. If I missed you, feel free to PM me or another mod, and I will add you in.
Now, for the first round you are all fighting an NPC. You can design, play and control them, but I still expect to see good fights! I'll be listing their class and weapon type, anything else can be of your design.
Remember, only Iron and Steel weapons (Weapons like an Axe Slayer or a Longsword, while not 'Steel' are assumed to be made with Steel, and as such are acceptable. The restriction keeps people from using Magic Weapons and White Gem items. Also Poison weapons, for obvious reasons.) can be used.
Wyatt vs General (Axe/Lance) Valcrist vs Wyvern Lord (Sword/Lance) Richter vs Swordmaster (Sword) Yaen vs Sage (Elfire) Clair vs Druid (Luna) Mana vs Cavalier (Sword/Lance) Tut vs Archer (Bow) Aurek vs Soldier (Lance) Edrick vs Brigand (Axe) Perrin vs Myrmidon (Sword)
Get in there and show us what you got!
Keep in mind: While the fight will end if a fighter is rendered unconscious, it is up to you to decide when to yield. If you refuse to give up, you could very well die.

I said this in the CBox the other day, but I'll post it here.
It's been nearly a month, if your battle is not finished by Sunday, I am taking it as a loss and throwing you from the tournament.
Thank you, and have a nice day.

Time for round two peoples! Just so you know, these pairings were made almost 2 weeks ago (before all of the Round 1 fights were done), so no complaining! Welcome, contestants, to Round Two! You all got your free pass in Round One, but the gloves come off now! With ten contestants, we are moving into PC vs PC Single Elimination! Standard rules of PvP Apply. No Powerplaying, Godmoding, MetaGaming, etc. This game is based upon having fun, not being the best. Play realistically and try to keep it fun for both posters. The matchups will be determined randomly. You might have an even match, or you might have a total curbstomp on your hands. Don't blame me, I'm just rolling the dice. I'm putting a special time restriction on these fights. Each fighter is allowed five combat posts, also one 'intro' post (Walking into the arena, bowing to the enemy, waving to the crowd. Basically your first post in your fight topic.). This is a maximum, not a minimum. If the fight ends before that point, no problem. If five battle posts by each contender is reached, and they cannot agree on a winner for the fight (we'd prefer if you did this yourself), the three Mods involved in the topic (Me, Clair and Richter) will vote on the winner. In the case that a Moderator is in the fight in question, Hal will be the tie breaker. If TWO mods are causing the discrepancy, they will be told to grow up and things will continue as normal. The Pairings: I have in my hand a trusty Ten Sided Die. And we have ten contenders. In Alphabetical order they are: 1: Aurek 2: Clair 3: Edrick 4: Mana 5: Perrin 6: Richter 7: Tut 8: Valcrist 9: Wyatt 10: Yaen So I will start with number 1, Aurek, and I will roll the die. If it lands on the contestants number, or anyone already matched up, I roll it again until it gives a valid match up. You might get a bad fight, but that is just the way luck plays out. Here we go! Aurek rolls: 5 Aurek vs Perrin (Lucky, you get a legitimate fight) Clair rolls: 8 Clair vs Valcrist Edrick rolls: 9 Edrick vs Wyatt Mana rolls: 7 Mana vs Tut Leaving the final match Richter vs Yaen. So the match ups are: Aurek vs Perrin Clair vs Valcrist Edrick vs Wyatt Mana vs Tut Richter vs Yaen Hop to it! Also, ONE MONTH from today (November 16th), I will be ending round two regardless of battle completion. Best of luck to you all!
