A new challenger joins the fray!
Name: Kazane
Species: Beastman (Wolf) (Half Beastman/Half Elf )
Class*: Anima Mage
Hair Color: Purple
Eye Color: Green
Age: 17
Appearance: Rather short, which makes sense considering her age. Kazane is about 5'5" with long light pink hair that reaches down her back. It is normally drawn into a pair of french braids. A pair of clear cerulean eyes that tend to shimmer with a child-like wonder of the world around her. Though short and slim, she actually has a surprising amount of muscles for a mage. Clearly no match to a female fighter, but far more then one might expect from either a magic user or a sixteen year old girl.
Clothes: Kazane is almost a walking cliche in her clothing colors. She wears a large pink overcoat, which covers a darker purple shirt and tight black leggings. She walks barefoot, since her feet adapted some of the padded nature of her Beastman blood. One might thing she were a martial artist instead of a mage if they judged her just on her attire.
Kazane has a few tell tale signs of her heritage. Most obviously, she has her ears and a wolf tail, the same hue as her hair. Her ears, though looking similar to a wolves, are not quite the same as a canines. They lack the ability to swivel to pinpoint sounds like a wolves do. Though they still do react to her emotional state, she has trained herself to control that reaction, as it was just another way she was different. Her hands, feet and teeth show some more hints, with tiny claws and fangs on them. Not suitable for combat, they do allow her to give a nasty scratch if someone annoys her.
Born in: Strayhaven
Story: The story of Kazane starts, as many do, long before she was born. A young elvish mage, Nithia, traveled far and wide across the land. Her path, her destiny, yet undecided as she wandered aimlessly. Far from the forest her people called home, she stumbled into a rather troublesome situation.
She had found herself in the midst of what would later become Strayhaven. But currently the beastmen were just setting out on making their claim here, and were quite wary of intruders. The leader of this small pack of wolves, named Nolaku, was not wild and rash like many of his kind, however. His decision to the elvish maiden was that she would have to remain there until they had safely settled themselves into the area, lest she tell the wrong sort of them trying to stake a claim of Calirce land. Though unable to leave the beastmen, Nithia was not a prisoner, and was allowed to move about their encampment as she pleased. Time went on, and Nithia began to lose the bright and cheerful attitude she had when she had first arrived. The Beastmen treated her coldly, as she was an intruder to their land. Only Nolaku maintained his compassion and polite nature when speaking with her, and for this she was eternally great full. In such a way, it was only a matter of time before Nolaku began to pine after the heart of a women not even of his race. Could they even be together, was it possible by the laws of nature, even beyond the tribal laws?
To spite her best efforts at hiding it, the entire tribe's sharpened senses could tell when Nithia had become with child, and who the father was. A roar of outrage overtook the small community, and Nolaku found himself defending himself and his mate from the ongoing verbal assaults of his kin. None would dare to raise arms against either of them, but were quite vocal in their displeasure. Eventually it was decided that the child's fate would be left to the elements. If they were born looking as a Beastman, then the child and the mother were blessed by the elements, and could remain. However, if she resembled an elf more, then they would both be banished from the community.
Several months later, Kazane was born, and within the month Nithia left the community, child in arms. Nolaku desired greatly to leave with her, but Nithia forbade him, saying he had many to look after, and that she would raise the child to be strong and wise, so she might find her father and be judged worthy by her people one day.
As the child grew, she found herself ostracized for her blood. Raised in the Yunita woods, far from the lands of her birth, she was looked down upon by the elves for her 'tainted' blood. Similarly, any beastmen she did encounter avoided her for similar reasons. A union of both, but accepted by neither. Humans, with their unique nature, found her quite the curiosity. She found them most enjoyable to be around, and always appreciates a humans company.
However, life was still not easy for this child. She had the power of the beast inside her, but not the Beastmen's natural power to control it. Whenever she became angry, she would risk transforming. And upon a transformation, she lost the ability to control herself or transform back. More then once she seriously injured others while transformed, due to her inability to control the rage. It was as if she could hear a voice in her head, but it was whispering to her. Loud enough so she knew she was hearing something, but so soft she knew not what it was. It was when she was fifteen that she finally decided that she wanted no more of this curse, and sought a powerful Elvish wizard to remove her shifting. With a word, he did, and she found herself hearing something she never had before. Not words per say, but an understanding of what was going on around her. Kazane had always been in tune with the elements, and removing the beast's voice that blocked it out, allowed her a direct channel to the element that had blessed her birth, the spirit of air.
It whispers in her ear as an animal might, and she hears it's call. She has a connection to the elements that other elves dream of having, and a sense of control that Beastmen are envious of. With her new found place in life, she ventures from the forest as her mother did all those years ago, in order to find that place where she might yet belong.
A note of interest. To spite being a mage, she still loves a good brawl.
