The manakete hadn't expected her to be able to do anything with a dragonstone, but he had tried. He glanced back at Elias, crestfallen. How had he managed to do this? It was just...the mage looking at the wrong moment, and Aeros making the wrong mistake at the wrong moment...
But Kazane caught his attention again. Had...had she just said she could do something to help? She hadn't seemed like...well, like he had imagined a healer to be, which didn't mean much. The method she described, though...it didn't sound like any healing he had seen or heard of.
Close his eyes?
Listen to her speak?
Despite how strange it all sounded, he did it anyway. Relaxing was harder; what if this didn't work? What if something went wrong and it became even worse? What if-
Annoyed that something so simple had to be so difficult, the manakete simply shut himself down, ignoring every thought, every distraction...and was stunned at the enormous force that appeared to be materializing around him. Everything in him recoiled at the sensation, trying to keep away as it was drawing closer, closer...
He stiffened as it approached...before washing over him, around him. It wasn't...comforting--it actually made him a little nervous, being surrounded by something so other--but it seemed far less of a threat now.
"Open your eyes Elias, Aeros. This is a world of magic, and here your control of magic can shape reality. If you wish your eyes to open, they will."
Open his eyes...this was getting stranger and stranger. Not least because he could have sworn his eyes were already open, after that...reaction. What was this, and how could he just...feel it so strongly?
Never-the-less, he wished his eyes open.
...And immediately felt an oppressive weight on him. It was difficult to pinpoint its source; it just seemed to be on him, pushing down with miserable force. It should have been difficult--or at least uncomfortable--to stand, but, inexplicably, he just...stood. That was all there was to it.
Then he noticed the wings.
They were exactly the silver that he knew them to be, yet they also seemed darker in some sense that he couldn't describe, and it didn't help that they were both much bigger than normal and seemed to be at least partly encircling him, leaving only a slight space in front of him. He still felt that he could move them if he wanted, at least...
It felt right in so many wrong ways.
When he finally finished examining himself, he turned his attention to...Kazane?
There was no doubt who it was, but she had changed in appearance as well: gone were all the wolfish traits. Aeros had payed little enough attention to them during their meeting--there had been plenty of distractions, ranging from food to conversation to blinding a friendly mage--but it was obvious now how much they defined her physically. What had happened to her...to him?
"Ka...Kazane?" Why did he feel so heavy? It was difficult to think clearly feeling as he did, not to mention being menaced on either side by his own wings. "Kazane...what is this place? Why...do you look like that?" He was reminded of how much her flood of questions had irritated him earlier...but wherever she had taken them, wherever this strange place was...he wasn't sure he liked it.

It was... well it wasn't anything. He had always thought it'd be 'dark' but that wasn't it. Dark implies something, there was just nothing. Nah, he didn't see darkness nor did he see at all. It was just emptiness, like something was yanked out forcibly and left all the other parts untouched. Frantically scrambling to do their job, forever unable to without the missing parts. He could still move his eyes, er, at least he thought he could. Not like it mattered, it was just weird. It was really disorienting, him stumbling around, his hands wildly looking for something to grab on to as he moved slowly and close to the ground, like he was expecting some to try and tackle him. If they did tackle him though, they'd be jerks, who tackles blind people? Seriously. He heard voices, and even though he knew where and who they were coming from, they still kind of freaked him out. Like someone trying to talk to you in a pitch black room. You know someone's there but no matter how hard you try you can't see it. "Ka...Kazane. Is there anything you can do with this? Do you know any...anything about this? Can...you do anything, Kazane?" That was the hobo with the fancy rock. Heir Rows, or something of that nature. "I...don't know where to even start with that. It's...too dangerous for me to fool around with. It's a power that is...not of this...world... Wait...I may actually be able to do something. If there is no answer here, perhaps...on the other side."Then pink started talking about weird stuff and he felt like someone was pushing his prone form about. He really had no way to reject such a thing, unless he wanted to obstinate and refuse to sit (and he kind of did), still he decided to be a good boy and sit when someone was kind enough to help him. It was Pink, he could tell by the sound of her voice being so much closer to him, echoing in his mind. Something soft touched his hand, he was afraid for a moment that he might of accidentally grabbed someone, but then realized it was he who was being grabbed. It felt like a woman's hand, unless Hungry over there was impeccable with hand maintenance, (in which case Elias totally wanted to know his secret) this was probably Pink. He smiled at no one, or at least he thought he did. Maybe he was smiling at a squirrel or something. "Close your eyes, focus on just the sound of my voice. Just relax, try to calm yourself. Feel the power flowing around you...let it envelop you."Close his eyes? Kind of redundant there. Still there was no reason to deny such a thing, this much be what Pink was talking about earlier. The whole "BelloDelloMello Anger is ultra better then Elibe" thing. Spirit world and what nonsense. Despite his mental attitude, Elias WAS kind of excited. In his infinitely wise priorities, it somehow overtook the fact he couldn't see. He smelt something... strange. Or felt it. Or something. His mind focused on the hand holding his. He actually recoiled at the magic that suddenly washed over him, it made him feel sick to his stomach in a good way. It was a weird feeling, like being dipped into a pool of cool water that just so happened to be hot at the same time. A strange contradiction that was as if it was completely natural, and impossible to describe with mere words. Magic was weird, he was happy that such a universal truth stayed the same across universes. "Open your eyes Elias, Aeros. This is a world of magic, and here your control of magic can shape reality. If you wish your eyes to open, they will."Oh, it's over? He trusted this girl, since he really had no reason not to. If he opened his eyes and saw nothing, then oh well who care. If not... First one eye, then the other. The oh so familiar but so missed sensation overcame him, the sensation of sight. He looked around, bright eyed. Not that the universe was crazily different from the last time he opened them, red was red, green was thankfully still green, but even if it was for a few minutes he missed this. Turning his head with a wide grin, he still held tight to Pink's hand but it felt weird. Completely different from before. He looked up at the girl, who was kind of tall now that he noticed it. "You lost the ears? I liked them." Wait... that wasn't his voice. Well it was, but he hadn't sound like that since... "HOLY CRAP!" A high pitched voice shouted. Looking down at a small hand. He wheeled his head around at the giant Kazane and massive Aeros and his huge wings. Normally his sharp mind would deduce some truth from this, but he was a bit surprised from being flung back through puberty to care.

Kazane slowly became aware of Aeros, to her right, first. She turned to him, and met his confused gaze. He had...wings? No way...what was he? He claimed he was from Elibe...and Beastmen didn't exist here to her knowledge. There would be time to delve into that question in a moment though, first she would field his. he was obviously confused.
"This is...I guess you could say the land of magic. Our forms changed because-" She started before she heard a very unfamiliar voice from the other side.
"You lost the ears? I liked them....HOLY CRAP!" It had sounded like a child, and Kazane whipped around to see who had joined them. The sight that greeted her eyes was...odd was an understatement. Elias was....he was a child. Not even ten years old yet, she would guess. She'd never heard of a spirit form doing this. Sure it was common for older people to see themselves younger, at their prime was the usual. But for someone to see themselves as a child, that was a new one.
Wait, he'd commented on her ears? "E..Elias?! Ah, you can see me!" She said, keeping her mind focused. "That means it wasn't magical...which means it is probably temporary. But...ah..." She was explaining this as she looked into the eyes of a tiny child, and felt quite odd doing so. "You're too cute!" She exclaimed, unable to hold back her laughter anymore. She broke out into a furious fit of giggles, unable to maintain her composure as she was looking at the now child Crimson Mage.
Forgetting for the moment that this was a man who was at least as old as her, she reached out a hand and ruffled the red head's hair. "You are just adorable" She practically cooed at him, unable to look beyond how he appeared.
It was hard to imagine anything could upstage Aeros and his wings, but here she was, paying them no mind.

Aeros was sickeningly experienced with the world's view of dragons. Before he had truly learned exactly how humans saw him, he had seen nearly every possible result of such an attitude: angry responses, fearful responses, stoic aggression, from multitudes or just a few, all directed at him. There had been a few exceptions lately--although not all initially--for which he was grateful, but the old habits died hard.
Then Kazane graciously ignored the monstrous wings hanging over him and decided to answer his question instead. Had she been able to finish her explanation, the manakete probably would have missed it anyway. How could she just...miss it?
Of course, the beastmage didn't finish her explanation, because something more interesting came up. Namely, a child even younger than Aeros looked popped into existence next to her. Aeros stared at the...red-haired child, uncomprehending for a moment, momentarily forgetting even the horrible weight that this place put on him. Who was this, and where had he come from? He had only arrived here because of Kazane, which meant it was probably a magic from Belorath...and, concerning their arrival, where was...?
"E...Elias?!"
...Oh. Oh.
The scene before him was...stranger than anything he had ever seen before, and something that trumped Tuatara was something that required caution. This was...what had Kazane said? Nothing about the new world seemed to indicate where it was or what it was, nothing seemed to reflect anything on Elibe. Could this be what Belorath looked like...? No, that didn't make sense, because there was no possibility of this ever melding with a continent like Elibe. Was it, then, whatever he had felt...flowing over him, earlier?
Whatever it was...it had...shrunk Elias and left Aeros with an easily visible secret and a nearly painful set of dark feelings pushing down like a physical force. "...Kazane?" His voice was small, pressured literally and figuratively by the alien world around him, and he doubted it had caught the attention of the mage, who was now...cooing? Cooing was the word--over the transformed Elias. "Ka...Kazane?" The word trembled, but it was louder this time, he thought. "What do we need to do here? And...are these--" he shuddered after trying and failing not to glance at the menacing wings he had acquired, "--is all this...permanent?"

Elias held a look of pure annoyance, as though the devil himself had just appeared to kick sand in his face. His hair was being ruffled, which is something he wish he could say hasn't happen since he was a child but it actually happened quite a bit despite that. Maybe people just can't resist messing with his perfectly messy bed head, but it was even more irresistible back when he was a kid. Looks like his curse is coming around to haunt him once again. Still he endured the messing of the messing hair, running his hands through it when the she harpy finally relinquished it. Patting it down and try to hide the forceful rearrangement of what should really be a national landmark. "So this is the spirit world and junk." He said in his clearly prepubescent voice, high pitched and making him frown. "Is there any reason I'm ten years younger then I used to be, or am I special case?" He doubted this was permanent, simply for the fact that he met Pink with the hair tufted ears and fluffy tail he really wanted to try and touch while she missed both of these things here. She looked like a generic pointy eared hippy, and she clearly came here consciously and this wasn't her first time. Which implies she had entered and left and regained her fluffy aspects when she checked out. This place must be weird, that does strange things to your body. The magic here was palpable, so thick that it felt like moving through a swamp of magical energy. Thick and viscous, and sweet like honey. He crossed his arms pouting for a moment, looking around. Everything looked normal, but sort of off. He couldn't put a finger on it, it was like colors were more vibrant. Not in a "life is wonderful!" way either, kind of like he stepped into an oil painting. Maybe it was just him trying to readjust to the completely different surroundings and he's seeing things that aren't there, but maybe it was just a quality of this world. Even as a child he was always particularly sensitive to magical energies, it's the main reason he was such a good mage and honestly the reason he was ever adopted. So being in this world was almost overwhelming him, it was making him a little sick to his stomach. The hobo started crying about something, but whatever it was he was a huge baby because it could never be as crappy as turning to a five year old. The short Elias that barely went up to Kazane's waist wheeled around to look at him. His eyes opening widely and a large toothy grin on his face, pounding his open palm with a fist and shouting out in unison. "I get it now!" He sounded triumphant, a wide smile and closed eyes as he hopped up and down on the spot. Slowly he calmed down as his mind went into overdrive. Looking at hungry hungry hobo, he quickly filled in the gaps of his guess with theories. The giant wings he was sporting were all the confirmation he needed, but he still kept quite. He couldn't hide his satisfaction after figuring out a tough problem, but he knew better then to totally blow someone's cover. If he wanted them to know, he'd say something. Even if Elias had a million questions to ask. It was going to drive him crazy, Elias wasn't exactly what you call 'empathetic' or 'conscious of other people's feelings' or 'realizing other people even had feelings' and it was odd he was keeping quiet in all honesty. Something just told him that for now it would be for the best. Besides he had his own little problem to worry about right now. "I get it, this place makes us all look weird! Well, I look weirdest because I'm Elias the Crimson mage and therefore the most extraordinary one here. It's only befitting, but it doesn't change the fact that we've all changed. I'm guessing anyone that comes here does, and when we leave we'll go back to the way we were. Crazy spirit magic and whatnot." He nodded as he spoke, feeling oh so clever. "Still I can totally see right now, so that's a big ol plus." Laughing and holding a small fist in the air as he pumped it triumphantly. "So thank you kindly Pink!"

Kazane was working hard to maintain a straight face as Elias stood and paced around. He looked so serious, but with his baby face that just made the situation more adorable. Still, maybe she could regain her composure by trying to instruct them a little bit.
"Well. That's...pretty close. Here, I'll try to explain it..." She said, sitting down again and tracing two lines in the dirt, parallel to each other. "You see, Elias was right about his part. This is a land called the Spirit Realm, something unique to Belorath, my world." She explained slowly, knowing Aeros was going to need the more basic explanation. "They are...I guess two sides of the same coin. Each world is just as real as the other. The one the mortal races live on is called the Material Realm. While the mortal races live on the Material Realm, the spirits reside here. Animal spirits, Elemental spirits, some even say the gods reside here as well."
She paused for a moment, looking over the two of them to make sure they were still following her. When she was satisfied, she continued. "Most beings from one realm cannot act on the other. Most mortals cannot cross into the Spirit Realm, and even the powerful Elemental spirits of the elements that make up the world cannot act directly on the Material Plane. Not without some conduit for their power. There are very few places where that would be naturally possible, so a pact was made." She held out the odd rod she held.
"The most powerful spirits formed pacts with mortals, using these rods as a sign of the agreement. It allows the mage, known as a 'Charmers', to call on the power of the spirits from time to time. In return, the rod and the mortal themselves give the spirits a way to effect the Mortal Realm. But there is something else these Rods are good for." She paused again, placing the rod on the ground.
"The rod is a combination of mortal and spirit magic, and as such a skilled Charmer can use it to 'weaken' the boundaries between the Realms. They can take others, but only people with the tiniest spark of magic can form a Spirit Body here, as both of you have. Elias, being a mage, I knew would be able too. But you Aeros...you have a spark of magic in you, but it's different. I wasn't sure you'd be able to follow us. Yet here you are." She said with a smile to him, not letting his new appendages bother her.
She looked at the sky with a smile, pausing for a moment. "As to why. I wanted to see if Elias' injury was magical or physical. If it was magical, he would still be blind here. Since he isn't, it's probably just temporary due to looking too closely at the light from your gem. And no, nothing here is permanent. You'll notice I'm missing some things too." She said, grasping the air where her wolf ears would have been.
She decided not to correct Elias on what the spirit form meant. She didn't really want to make Aeros freak out more then needed.
Did he see himself as a monster? Or maybe the holder of a monstrous power? That could make sense...
She hadn't realized when exactly, but sometimes during her brief lesson on the realms she had subconsciously pulled the little boy into her lap. She sat there thinking, with a no doubt annoyed and indignant mage sitting in her lap.

Kazane appeared to have missed his questions, and Aeros was almost prepared to repeat them as Elias finished speaking, proving that his appearance was the only thing that had changed. It was just as well; he seemed more than prepared to explain whatever he could figure out, and Aeros was starting to suspect that Elias was more than his bragging.
But as the manakete voiced his concerns, the shortened Crimson Mage(!) wheeled around, grinned, and blurted out an, "I get it now!" before beginning to hop up and down, looking extremely happy. His sudden change in mood puzzled Aeros for a moment; only for a moment, though, because it was obvious what had happened: he knew. The mage knew now what he was. Of course he would figure it out: Aeros had just been thinking on the mage's ability to figure things out, and the mage had just finished demonstrating his knowledge of dragons. Why wouldn't he figure it out? Kazane was one thing, but an Elibean raised on stories of the monsters that had been pushed back a millenium ago...
What could he, Aeros, do about it now? For some reason, he couldn't imagine Kazane turning against him for any reason; if Elias did, however, there was no guarantee that the manakete could escape from a powerful mage like him. It would probably require transforming, and...he wasn't sure if he wanted to handle the magic in him for a little while longer, not after the recent mistake. He might need to do it, despite his inhibitions...
What could he do, besides listen as Elias revealed the truth about him? There was no way to plan how either of the two would react, nor could Kazane's control over this..."spirit realm" be predicted...
"I get it, this place makes us look weird!"
...What.
Elias wasn't saying anything...well, he was saying something, but unless Kazane decided to not explain anything--and she seemed too nice for that--it wasn't anything terribly important. Why? He had spent every conscious, gibber-free minute spouting out whatever was one his mind, and finding out that a dragon had been talking to you tended to attract some interest...bad attention, but still, it was a pattern that made things seem...empty when it wasn't followed.
How did he keep finding these people?
His time being thoroughly confused seemed at an end when Kazane finally began to speak, addressing his questions like it...had it been that long since he'd asked them? He always seemed to lose track of things like that...regardless, he sat down with the beastmage, which didn't seem to lessen the dark pressure on him, but made it easier to ignore.
So the Belorathian began describing the Spirit World. It seemed like so much to take in: an entire world on the opposite side of the normal one (did worlds even have sides like that?), filled with spirits of all kinds and gods, divided from the normal world. She mentioned people called Charmers, and explained the rod, stating that it would take a skilled Charmer to bring them there...and then she turned to Aeros, actually smiling at him despite the horrible wings...
The most welcome news of all--and, yes, something Aeros wished he'd thought about himself--was that nothing here was permanent. It really made him want to leave faster, but at least it meant he wouldn't have to deal with...whatever this was once they left, and he wouldn't exactly need to come back. Now he would know better. Plus, she had also said that Elias' blindness was only temporary, which was...less reassuring now that he might be an enemy, but at least it cleared the manakete's conscience.
And she had said something about his..."spark" of magic being different somehow. He looked down at the too-vibrant earth, tempted to just shut his eyes to the strangeness around him but resisting the urge as something silly. Thinking about it, deep down, he had always known that it couldn't be possible, but he had never really considered any magic being different. It was just a name for power people could use to shape different things: many mages he had seen or fought could bend fire, lightning, even darkness and light to their demands, so why would his magic need to be any different, since all he did was shape himself? But, somehow, he knew better than that. He had two enormous nightmares at either side to prove it.

Somehow he knew this would happen before it even happened. Perhaps he could get a job as a psychic. He sat in a woman's lap for the first time in what felt like an eternity, his weak little boy body simply unable to resist. So he sighed and simply let it happen, to be honest he couldn't say he hated the attention. A small frown as she subconsciously patted him on the head, Pink was simply helpless against children it seemed. He could use that, he could probably get anything he wanted if he pouted right about now. He just needed to save it for the perfect moment...
Well other then that little diversion, Pink was busy being an exposition spouting force of nature. Giving the lowdown on this entire spirit would junk. Elias' absorbent mind soaked up every bit of information, naturally, and as much as he wanted to be stubborn and ignore what she said on principle, he simply could not fight against his naturally enormous desire to know everything about everything. It was a curse really, he had more useless trivia rolling around up there then you can shake an entire oak tree at. It made him ask questions, sometimes too many in a short time frame, and if there's magic involved, hoo boy. He was a bit annoyed because he was still sour over her "OUR MAGIC IS BETTER THEN YOUR MAGIC" type attitude earlier that may or may not actually all be in his head and exaggerated to the point of caricature. Still, point remained the same. He was still sore from it, and listening to her go on and on about it made him feel grumpy because he was actually paying attention.
"So spirits and junk just float around here?" He looked around with a flat look in his eyes. "Are these the 'oh hey grandpa, nice to see you again, sorry about stabbing you' kind of spirits, or the 'ooky spooky we are nature' spirits? Because there really needs to be a distinction between the two, it always confuses me. I think the second type should be called something more catchy, and since I proposed the idea maybe it should be Eliases. Then again I don't want my wonderful name attached to things I find annoying, so maybe 'elementals' or whatever. Then again you mentioned elemental spirits, so that would be elemental elementals and that's just confusing. Wisps might work." He ranted, not even listening to his own words.
"But what I'm getting is you use the super duper wisps kind of like mercenaries. Making contracts and whatnot, I'm not sure what they get out of it but I'm not a charmer so I don't know. I mean sure it's probably cool to crossover the boundaries from time to time, but if you charmers make a lifestyle out of it, it doesn't seem particularly nifty in the long run for the wisps. Like unless they are super stoked to just do anything with the physical word, which is kind of depressing if you think about it, but whatever."
He crossed his arms, nestled into his little nook. "It's good to know my sight thing won't last forever because really that would suck. How could I see such beautiful colors like red?" Dragon Hobo, as he will know be known as, seemed a bit shocked. Like not speaking shocked so it looks like it's just gonna be Pink and Red for a bit. Which was fine and everything, since magic was cool and Elias liked it.

Kazane laughed a little bit at Elias' manner of speaking. "Well, it's not quite that simple. I'd like to believe that the spirits use their contracts with mortals to ensure the elements are balanced in the material world. Sort of using it to survey the situation. After all, if we can use the bond to enter their world, who is to say they cannot use the bond to effect ours?" She looked around for a moment, and then smiled. "And no, I have never seen any of the sentient beings here in spirit form. I don't know why, I suppose that is one of the great mysteries. However, if you want to meet a spiritual beast..." She spoke, letting the sentence drift off, as she closed her eyes and concentrated for a moment.
"Ray, come here please." She spoke softly, as if whispering to the very air itself. For a moment, nothing happened, and then some form came flying out of the sky. It seemed to lack a real form, seeming a wisp of smoke as it traveled to them. It paused next to her, forming into a solid shape of a silver coyote that looked up at her expectantly.
"You called?"
Kazane nodded, making a gesture between Elias and the spirit beast. "Yes, I just wanted to introduce my new friends to a spirit such as yourself. Elias, Aeros, this is my spirit guide, I've named him Raymond." She said, reaching out and petting the coyote's mane as it glanced at Elias first, before it's eyes settled on Aeros. His eyes seemed to pierce the disguised dragon, and if an animal could smile, it would look like he was.
"Hmm, that one truly embraces my spirit. I'd be careful." He spoke flatly.
"Raymond! That was rude!" She chastised the beast, which didn't seem to mind one way or the other. "I am sorry Aeros. Coyote's are symbols of tricksters, masters of deception. He thinks you are hiding something, but that is fine. You must have your reasons, so I will not pry. I don't think you mean anyone harm anyway." She spoke with a smile, running her fingers through his mane. "And, since you are feeling so talkative Ray, what do you think of Elias?" She asked, now curious as the coyote opened one eye to glance up at the child mage.
"Hmph. He couldn't fool anyone, cept maybe himself." At this, Kazane swatted the animal on the head.
"Well! Aren't you being rude today!" She scolded him.
"Don't blame me, you were the one who asked."
Kazane rolled her eyes before glancing back to Aeros, since she couldn't very well look at Elias easily. "It's a bit of an explanation, but I'll keep it brief for now. Raymond is...my beat side. People like myself have to give up our power to transform to learn magic. The ritual that does this, actually severs part of our beast side from our spirit. This, is the result."

Whether it was the new, higher-pitched voice or just the raw loudness of it, something about Elias' speech snapped Aeros out of his thoughts. He felt a little guilty as he looked up at the two mages; he had...sort of been paying attention, but with Kazane handing out her explanations for his benefit--well, partly--it didn't feel right to hang his head and only catch every third word. She was trying to make him...make them feel comfortable, or at least safe.
Elias, though...what was he talking about now? The Crimson Mage(!) always seemed to be so full of questions, probing this and that, exploring one angle before jumping to another in the same sentence. The manakete would have never thought to ask all of these questions; the mage did, though, and he seemed to very quickly get answers to all of them. At least, Kazane seemed to answer them quickly, and she appeared to be doing so now as she concentrated. What was...?
Naturally, since the experience wasn't already strange enough, the beastmage's efforts summoned a cloud of mist, springing apparently out of nowhere before settling next to its caller, taking shape. Kazane introduced the coyote that resulted as Raymond before gesturing to her companions. Aeros looked on almost as curiously as the spirit...until its eyes settled on him. He jerked backward at the gaze; there was something unnerving about the cunning in it, an intelligence that was unlike anything he had ever encountered before...
"Hmm, that one truly embraces my spirit. I'd be careful."
...And of course someone else had to figure it out, too. The canniness of these two mages alone made Aeros glad that magic users were uncommon; he was discovered enough as it was.
Of course, all of this stemmed from his lack of care with his dragonstone, and how was he to prepare for a world that made his wings horribly visible? Even Elias probably wouldn't have been suspicious without the former, while they never would have met...Raymond...
He wasn't paying attention again, and Kazane was being nice to him again. He needed to work on that.
Was she actually this close to finding out...what he was, and was ignoring it? Where had the dragons on Belorath gone, that the people that were left didn't have horrid legends about their power? The manakete didn't have the entirety of Elibe's stories, but, in every version that was widely told, his kind were forces to fear, even though they had lost. And yet the Belorathians, on the losing side, had no images of the monsters that had almost destroyed them...so would she think of him?
Paying a little more attention now allowed Aeros the strangely funny sight of Kazane slapping spirit guide on the head. It was enough to make him smile, at least; even when people were so different, they could become so close.
The beastmage glanced back at him he tried, guiltily, to hide his smile, unsure of whether it was appropriate or not...well, he was sure by now that she wouldn't, but it seemed like something to hide for some reason...and then she said something interesting. She had...severed part of her "beast side" to learn magic? And Raymond was the result?
That was interesting in several ways, but one stood out the most. "If...Raymond...is your beast side," he began, looking between the two, "how did you end up so...different?"
