Alternate Accounts
Each roleplayer may have up to three active accounts - no exceptions. We request at least 2-4 weeks of activity between each new character, and reserve the right to refuse further alts if you contintually make new characters while killing off/retirning older ones.
Character Death
Human characters are mortal; they will eventually die, whether by an enemy's blade, the ravages of old age, or fatal illness. Dragons do not die of old age, but can be slain the same as anything else - and if they are not careful with their power, their reckoning will come quickly indeed in a world that hates them.
While most roleplaying does not take place over the entire course of a character's lifespan, so old age and (usually) illness are not primary issues, death in battle is a very real threat to adventurers and would-be heroes alike; even a common bandit can get lucky, scoring a strike that gouges deep. It's okay to let your character get hurt once in a while, to let them bleed. Scars can tell a story, and Vulneraries can heal most non-fatal wounds, given time and rest.
However, taking the full brunt of Armads to the head is not likely to result in a full recovery, and you should not roleplay it as such. Refrain from leaping into truly impossible odds or acting blatantly suicidal; while we don't want to kill your character off any more than we do, we reserve the right to call shenanigans on your attempt to defeat the Eight Heroes with a wad of gum and a popsicle stick.
Reincarnation
Okay, so you have a dead character. You have our condolences. Maybe you tried to take on the full might of Etruria as a level 1 trainee, maybe you ended up as dragon chow, or maybe you just got tired of one of your existing characters and want a new one. Bad news first: Bandaids don't fix that. Once a character dies, they're gone - permanently. Good news: if you only had a few posts, you can start over from scratch, removing the dead character from your active characters roster to make room for another. If your character was well established, though, you can do even better.
Fear not! You can actually get some benefit from that corpse you're lugging around... if you meet certain conditions. If your deceased character had at least 150 posts at the time of death, you can start a new character with 2/3 of their final post count, so a 300 post dead character can start again as one with 200 posts, and you can keep 1/2 of their existing gold; if you had 1000, you keep 500. Items do not make the transition - if you had the legendary spear, Malte, you'll have to earn it again from scratch on your new character.
If you qualify for reincarnation, please note as much in the new character's profile, including the original character's name, post count, and gold; some form of identification in the topic title would be nice too, like an [R] tag for Reincarnation.
