Selena helped the thief on to the roof, but did not turn to wait for him. The residents of this building were aware now, and she needed to get as far away from here as possible before they got a good look at her. Thankfully, nobody alive had seen her or her companion, so that would work to her advantage. She ran to the edge of the roof, and knew that she could not climb down here. Too dangerous, and they would be on her before she reached the ground. She needed to put some distance between them and her before she could risk slipping down to the streets.
If she had her metal armor, she'd have thought twice, but with just her leathers on she decided to put her faith in her body. The faith, it would seem, was well placed, as she rolled onto the adjacent roof, pausing for but a moment before standing and moving to repeat the process. Thankfully this roof was strong enough to hold her, but she wasn't sure that would be the same for all of them. Still, she had to keep moving. This area was dangerous, and she wasn't going to be caught here like some simple thief.
With a second jump, she managed to clear to the next roof, but nearly fell flat on her face as one of her feet pushed through the weak footing. Thankfully she managed to not bring it all down under her weight, but she saw this as a sign that he roof hopping was done for today. Peering over the backside of the building, she saw a mostly unoccupied alley, and a ledge a few feet below her. From the ledge...it would probably be a fifteen foot drop...ten if she hung. That was doable.
And so, quickly but carefully, she lowered herself to the ledge, thankful that nobody inside seemed to have noticed her rough landing...yet. She hung from the ledge, as planned, and dropped the rest of the way to the ground. She landed hard, and took a knee for a moment to brush off the shock of the landing. She only wavered a moment though, quickly turning towards the main street and walking past a very confused drunkard who had just seen her fall out of the sky.
She restored her breathing, gathered herself, and melded into the crowds of people like just another sell sword. She'd have to go over the ledger she'd found once she made it back to her inn.

Selk had stuck to his roots for the most part. He had lived in Lycia his whole life. Though most of that was spent at his home in Caelin, for the past couple of years he'd also worked in the surrounding lands doing whatever needed to be done. He was by no means a veteran soldier, but he was also not entirely wet behind the ears when it came to battle. He'd risked his life for friends on multiple occasions passed. His armor showed signs of battle despite his proud polishing and buffing at least once a week. His lance, on the other hand, saw more use than he'd like to admit as of late. With his family's crops being on an all time low in their harvest bounty, Selk had taken to doing small time mercenary work.
With little knowledge of the place aside from its slightly nefarious nature and its high quantity of sell-swords, cutthroats, and thugs Selk Mar found himself in this particular port of Badon. He was half paying attention as he walked along the street, watching the sea breeze blow clouds about in the sky. Something caught his eye as he gazed skyward, though. A woman bounding across the rooftops. He heard a light thump on the building nearest him as she appeared to have fallen upon landing. But he kept his eyes trained on the rooftop from across the street and actually saw straight down the alleyway when she finally dropped to the street level and began to meander into the bustling crowds. Curious as to her purpose for roof hopping and hearing the small commotion from down the street from the very direction she had apparently just come from made him want to question her even more. But more than that, he knew the troublesome nature of the port and wanted to find out if she was part of the cause for this place's reputation or if she had just upset the real culprits forgiving the port a bad name.
Unlike her, Selk WAS clad in his suit of heavy metal armor. It made it easy for him to shove through a crowd, but difficult to do so and still manage to blend in. He followed her as best he could. He stood a bit taller than the average fellow, and so he was able to see over most of the crowds of people and at least keep a general view of her. With a calm and somewhat friendly tone, Selk called to her once he got within a few feet of her, "Excuse me, miss!"

Selena tensed when she heard the voice calling out. No way to know if whomever this voice belonged to meant her harm, or even was addressing her to start with. Be that as it may, she much preferred an enemy that she knew rather then one she would ignore. She turned to him, taking in the boy's features.
Ok, first of all the armor. Heavy and loud, no way he could have been someone tailing her from the shipping company. He wouldn't have gotten here so far, and not without being noticed by everyone in town with all the racket a suit like that would make. Second, it seemed familiar to her. As if it were Lycian Military. It was possible he might be part of the 'Guards' here. If that were true, there was a good chance that he was just as crooked as everything else in this port.
But, for the time being, Selena had no reason to suspect that the boy meant any harm. Perhaps a visitor asking for directions, or something to that effect? To refuse him might draw more attention to herself then she wanted to deal with. After all, attention was something she really did not need more of right now.
Thankfully nobody had seen her or Art in their escape, so she'd likely be safe for a little bit.
"Yes? What can I do for you?" She asked, maintaining a neutral expression to not betray her own thoughts.

He finally caught up to her, or rather she stopped and turned around to let him catch up. No one else seemed to have minded the fact that Selk practically plowed through the crowd with his metal bulk. In fact they all acted like that sort of rudeness was commonplace here. The young knight just shrugged and smiled at the young woman. "I saw that tumble you took before hopping down back there and I just wanted to see if you were alright. Are you in a hurry for some reason?" Selk wasn't that dumb. He knew she was in a hurry, but he didn't know why. And he was at least a little concerned for her health. Someone getting injured in a place like this was practically begging to be mugged, robbed, or worse.
He sighed and ran a hand across his face with a light groan. "My apologies, where are my manners?" He extended the other hand, which wasn't covered in sweat from his brow, in a friendly greeting. "My name's Selk Mar." Assuming she wasn't out to rob him blind or get away with some major crime, perhaps they could be compatriots in this troublesome port. Having someone to watch your back in a place like this was NEVER a bad thing. Of course, there's still no guarantee that she'd trust him or that he could trust her, but for now he was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.
"Anyway, I think I've had enough of this town and you looked to be in a hurry to leave. I can't stand the constant mistrust and dubious nature of this place," he made sure to whisper that as to not stir up trouble. "If that's true, then I'd like to accompany you out of here."

Selena tensed as the knight made mention of spotting her, whatever he was planning...
And then he made to introduce himself, and suggest that he follow her into an unobserved location. Ok, this kid was either the worlds worst ambusher, or a total moron.
Either one could be true, honestly. She seemed to glare into him, her emerald eyes narrowing much like a cat's. "Are you so foolish that you would blindly trust someone in this port on appearances? Why don't you tell me which retired soldier you bought or stole that armor off of, no soldier could be that clueless." She cut into him verbally. It was entirely possible the kid was just being idealistic, but idealists had a bad habit of winding up dead when they met with the harsh realities of the world. WHY a kid like this would even be here was still something she had difficulty wrapping her head around. His introduction just seemed so...insane. Did he not realize how little life was worth in a place like this? And to trust a random stranger that he had reason to believe was just doing something illegal, or at the very lest was someone who had enemies. She sighed to herself as she began walking back towards the inn that she'd left her armor at.
"Do yourself a favor kid, go back to wherever home is and till the fields. Idealists don't belong here, they tend to get a knife in their back for the trouble." She spoke, turning away to walk up the street. No doubt that once those smugglers noticed their ledger was gone, they'd start really looking at people. She'd like to get some information out of it before that happened.

Selk was either about to get on her nerves even more, or he was going to show her that he wasn't such a 'naive kid.' "Listen, miss. I happen to be from a part of the world where backstabbing and rudeness aren't generally accepted customs or etiquette. If being a respectable, civil person who happens to give a damn about someone other than myself is being idealistic, then I'll keep being the most idealistic person in this whole place. I've been here a couple of weeks, and in case you haven't noticed I'm still here." His tone wasn't angry. He wasn't even upset. It was a bit sad, but this is the kind of talk he'd come to expect from people around here after his short couple of weeks.
"And by the way, I believe you gave me reason enough to want to talk to you since not only are you the first person not to directly threaten me with a blade upon talking to you, you're also the only one to offer me any friendly advice. Though I say 'friendly' with a grain of salt, as I'm not sure anyone in this port even understands what a word with such a strong bond behind its definition would even mean." He sighed after finishing his little speech and chuckled even. Now he had to wait for her response. Unless she broke into a dead sprint and he couldn't keep up in his armor, he'd keep following her for the time being. In her own unique way she had shown him kindness. Or rather the only way that a slum like this port would allow someone to show kindness without looking 'weak' or 'soft'.
"My armor was a gift from my father...and I did train in Caelin's castle guard for a time." He admitted with another sigh. "So maybe you can stop making assumptions and throwing insults around. I've had my fair share of life and death situations otherwise I wouldn't even have bothered visiting someplace with a reputation as bleak as Badon's."
