Village MusicIt had been particularly warm today in Santaruz. As such, one of it's villages and it's folk took advantage of this beautiful day they were blessed with. Just the usual you'd expect out of the active people: children running around, shoppers, etc. Despite the chaos that's most likely erupting throughout other regions of Lycia or other regions of Elibe, this happy little village could make even war-doers decide to settle down and enjoy this level of peace and tranquility. Even the sight of the enormous mercenary, Tiger walking through didn't even disturb their time of joy. Ever since his arrival at this village, the Ilian titan was quite amazed at how carefree these villagers were. Whether they were just oblivious to danger or just simply don't care about the world's affairs didn't really matter. It was at least pleasing to arrive at a comfortable place. But it's a shame that he couldn't just relax in the grass or something. He had reasons to come here due to rumors of sightings of his older brother. Searching for Jason after all this time has certainly been a headache for Tiger. He really began to doubt his brother was even worried about him looking for him and hunting him down. Jason isn't the type to run from a fight, so Tiger figures that his brother must be up to something else that's preoccupying him from their confrontation. But he decided that worrying about that was a waste of time and headed to gather information from people who may have seen him. Traveling through the busy little village, the mercenary could see a rather rugged man waving his arms out to him. He took it as a gesture for him to approach. It was killing him on the inside as to what the man wanted as he neared. He didn't even know him. But now confronting, Tiger simply crossed his arms and looked down to the man half his size, awaiting for him to start speaking. "Maaaan...you're huge! I think you're the perfect person for helping out on what's going on." He began as his gaze wandered off atop of what he can see of Tiger's axe. "Think you can help me with a favor, sir? It's obvious that you're a mercenary, so I've got ya covered on pay!"
The Ilian kept his arms folded, a bit puzzled that something could be going wrong in this peaceful village...but a job a job, so he didn't care. "...Very well. What's the favor?" he started off quite calmly, getting straight to the point. "Yesterday, my son and a few other villagers hadn't returned from searching for these strange men who destroyed some of our fields during countless random attacks. They were missing all day from morning to night..." the man dropped his view to the grass. "...But I, along with another party went ourselves and saw their corpses near the investigated area. Those troublemakers attempt to attack almost exactly around this time of day. But these carefree fools here won't even lift a finger, so we don't have enough man power anymore to hold them off next time..."
"You just need me to get rid of them, right?" the focused mercenary replied instantly. When the man nodded, Tiger unfolded his arms as he looked off into another direction, but still spoke. "...It's a deal then."

Another beautiful day on the road in Lycia. As fair the weather was in Etruria, it rained quite a bit for his liking. However, on the other side of the mountains it was usually significantly clearer throughout the year. Also, there was a pleasant breeze that would pass through from the south almost all of the time. Lucien could appreciate the little things, even now weary since he'd been travelling since morning and it was a pleasant noon. He took the time and released his pack, taking a break on the side of the road. The Etrurian noble sat on the bank, covered in lush, green grass. What a better time to take a nap? With all of the nasty business near Ostia and the like, even with Laus being a bit hectic for his liking, now he felt he could settle down for a few days and start some recruiting. Lucien pulled out his canteen and took a few sips, the water being a bit lukewarm. Laying down a bit, the simple man lowered his browplate over his eyes. All it took was to cross his arms and rest one foot on top of the other for him to start dozing off. -- Not much time later a few men starting talking a little ways away from him. "Is that the bloke you hired earlier?""Huh? Wait, no... I have no idea who this guy is.""Well, he's someone. I'll gather the boys.""Hold on, what if the other guy shows up?""Then we play it off. You worry too much. Now get in the usual spot."-- Lucien was having a wonderful dream of back home in Ryerde and his fiance when he felt something tapping on his foot. He woke up slowly and lifted his brow plate, rubbing his eyes. "Something the matter, friend?" He looked up and focused on a rough looking man with a full beard and he was wearing a dark cloak. "No, nothing at all, buddy. I was just wondering if you'd spare me a hand. One of my calves managed to get her leg snagged in the fence and I could use some help getting her out." The man said it in a very casual manner, standing nearby and constantly looking down the road. The honest-hearted Etrurian sat up and put his pack together again, the lance and shield hanging on the back. "Not a problem! Just let me get my things." He replied cooly and enthusiastically, standing and fixating his armor. "Sure thing, mate." the bearded man said with a bit of impatience, still averting his eyes down the road to Santaruz. "Just follow me, I need to get some tools outta the barn." Lucien followed him, but stood outside of the barn after the man went in. He pulled his lance and shield off of his pack and stood ready at the entrance of the barn, his lance lowered forward. "Hey, you coming?" He heard come from inside the barn. The Chevalier didn't budge or respond. Within him, he prepared his mind and body for battle, feeling the weight of the lance in his hand as he held it by its' balance point. "Mate, you out there? I need some help with this!" He heard him call out again. With more preparation, he braced his stance. "Come out, brigand..." Lucien called out, his eyes focused forward in a predatory stare. Complete moments of silence arose, almost painfully deafening for Lucien to bear, everything focused forward. Then, the one thing he heard was a twig snap behind him. Without hesitation, Lucien turned about and there stood a teenage boy, probably about 15 or so standing there with a knife forward. The boy was frozen with fear and his hands trembled. "...All of you."Battle MusicWith this, a war cry broke out from the inside of the barn. Full on charging, the bearded man emerged with another teenage boy, about 17 or so, the bearded man carrying a military grade axe and the boy with a cheap sword. Lucien was able to break back, away from the three but not before the bearded man was upon him. Stepping to the side, the soldier was able to deflect the charge and pushed him onto the ground with his shield. He stepped on the man's back and pointed his spear at the 17 year old. "By Elimine's light, you all must be purged. You will drop your weapons and we will journey to the Santaruz castle. Honestly, you thought I'd fall for that? I've dealt with enough of your kind. It would've fooled any other person. A calf at a farm with only a small garden? I pity those you robbed before."

Tiger certainly wasn't expecting to find a job while deciding to look for Jason again. In a way, being as tall as a titan actually worked in his favor. He was really low on gold and since this is his life, he needs the gold to fill his stomach tonight. But ignoring his money problem for the sake of getting the job done much more efficiently, the Ilian waited around the village for hours and still no sign of those supposed troublemakers. After getting a better description of them from his employer, they weren't bandits...or at least they didn't look it. They all were hot-blooded young men garbed in thief robes. But with their actions towards the village, Tiger has to treat them like brigands...and since they weren't coming, he decided to go to them.
Dealing with brigands all the time, they had to have some sort of small base or stronghold nearby. He finally decided on going where the last party was slain, as it had to be quite obvious that the hideout had to be near there. This required him to use the same road they used that the villager directed him to. It was directly behind the village itself. It explained how those thugs could attack the village so suddenly and quickly. If they used such a cowardly tactic, then these rogues shouldn't be too much of a threat in straight up battle...though there was no room for overconfidence and recklessness on a job like this.
Taking certain precautions, Tiger advised that whatever remained of the militia would guard the village in case he found nothing on his way to the assumed hideout. While going in alone was dangerous, he knew that he could flee when it becomes too rough. So all that was left to do is travel this small road and get this over with.

Samuali once more found himself in a alien land. He was approached by a young man, about 17 and offered some work to kill off an bandit. He was not going to turn down a chance to help. He was told to hide and wait for the bandit to follow a bearded man with a dark cloak and kill him off while he was distracted. Just like he was told soon a bearded man with a dark cloak was followed by a noble looking man. Samuali crept in behind him, drawing his hunting knife when he noticed the noble stop and take a fighting stance.
"Come out, brigand..." The noble said.
Suddenly it became clear on what was going on. Samuali slowly started to back away and stepped on a twig. *snap* Much to his horror the noble turned around and faced him.
"...All of you." With that the barn's occupants burst out with weapons drawn. Samuali took advantage of the situation and recovered his lance. Not soon after the noble flipped the bearded man and pointed his spear at the 17 year old that hired him.
"By Elimine's light, you all must be purged. You will drop your weapons and we will journey to the Santaruz castle. Honestly, you thought I'd fall for that? I've dealt with enough of your kind. It would've fooled any other person. A calf at a farm with only a small garden? I pity those you robbed before." The noble stated.
Samuali did not care about the Brigand that the noble had pinned but he was not going to let a fellow child do something stupid. As far as Samuali knew, the 17 year old fell to a lie like him. Samuali slipped next to him and took his weapon and tossed it away along with his lance and knife. "Come on kid, it is over. Your need to be a good role model to me, not the other way around."

The boy gritted his teeth in anger and pushed himself away from the young green-haired boy, throwing a punch that was too short just to separate him from the younger boy. He looked over to where his sword was and went to grab it, his hands trembling a bit. He wiped his sweaty palms on his trousers and held it up towards the two. "Don't either of you hurt father! He didn't ask for this! Also, you're wrong! We never harmed anyone!"
Lucien just stood there and focused his attention on the boy, gripping his lance tighter. "That may be, but you were just about to hurt someone. Do you have family besides you and your father, boy? What would they say? What would the Gods say? You have sinned, but I am offering forgiveness through rule of law."
He made a quick glance over at the younger green-haired boy and saw he shared no resemblance with the two The youngest didn't look to have it in him the heart to fight, but he was ready to defend himself with his lance. It looked as if he had used it before. "Child, you should return home and not associate yourself in this trade. You're much too young to go seeking out the horrors of conflict."
The older boy looked on in protest. "S-Sir! Our hands have been forced! Th-They'll burn our home and what little we have..." The boy dropped to his knees and threw the sword away to his side. His father was trying to speak with him softly, however Lucien maintained a firm footing over him. "We'll sort this out in Santaruz, not in the dirt. I think it'd be best if you joined us as a witness, boy." Lucien said calmly. He didn't want to have to go through this, but his faith and moral compass drove him to go forward with bringing the law onto them. He had only been passing through Santaruz so he didn't know too much about it, but he knew the way to town and there were bound to be guards along the way.

The noble had seemed to have gained control of the situation. He also wanted Samuali to come with his as a witness. Good, at least he was not being blamed as a criminal. He noted that the noble was sizing him up and tried to stand a little straighter. "sir, could i fetch my knife and lance?"Samuali asked the noble, a little intimated. He waited to see if he would get permission to. After acting accordingly to the noble's response he said. "This is all i have, Sir. I will come."

Chevalier acknowledged the boy's request with a nod. He turned his lance downwards towards the man and had it pointing at his neck. He stepped off the man and used that foot to kick away his axe. "Stand slowly and raise your arms with your son. We're making our way towards Santaruz, now. The sooner we figure this out and justice is dealt, the sooner you can repent and devote your lives towards peace and not harming your fellow man." The two of them were rather somber and quiet, they had their heads held downwards and their arms raised as Lucien marched them out of the farm compound.
"Boy, what is your name?" the soldier asked the green-haired youth, his spear still at the backs of the two. "I'd prefer it if you weren't behind me again. Could you lead the way?" He asked with an honest smile. Quite different from earlier.

"My name is Samuali, Sir and i am not from around here so i will need some directions. I will explain myself later, Sir" With that he took the lead of the group. After a while of marching a, a very large and bear-like man cut them off.
"Well, well. Look what we have here. You failed to pay me twice now, so i will be collecting your head." The man growled at the father and son. "Unfortunately for you two I don't like to leave a witness." He said with a slight grin as he drew his weapon and glared at Samuali and noble.

Eren had been flying along, enjoying the countryside, when he noticed some sort of ruckus happening on the road. Probably a robbery.
"Well, look down there, Mika. Looks like a commotion to me... Perfect." With that, Eren directed his wyvern down, and the two dove as the large bandit drew out his weapon. Landing with a small flutter of dust in the barely accomodating space between the two belligerents, Eren hopped off of Mika and drew his axe, stepping up to the brigand and holding it ready.
"Looking for trouble, hmm?" he smirked.

The noble smiled gently at Samuali and bowed his head a little. "I am Lucien Chevalier of House Chevalier from Etruria. I know the way there, so I'll be guiding you along."
--
With quick footwork, Lucien stepped in front of the two captives and brought his lance to the front, setting just behind his shield for a quick strike. "Your intimidation will not work on me, cur! Drop your weapon and leave or I shall cast St. Elimine's judgement upon you!" Lucien's pose was like that of a statue, him having worked on his form for many years in service to the King of Etruria before he was ousted. He was ready to kill, sizing up the man quickly and setting himself from the man at "minimum combat spacing" he said in his mind, remembering all of the old drill.
The soldier didn't expect Samuali to fight, however Lucien didn't want to underestimate the ruffian so the boy would possibly have to defend himself. "Boy, protect the others. Leave him to me, I-" Chevalier was cut off by a winged mount landing nearby and a rather menacing but clean-looking wyvern knight dismounted with a weapon drawn in his pink gloves that his eyes were strangely drawn to for a moment. Was he a Santaruz soldier on patrol?

"Boy, protect the others. Leave him to me, I-"
Samuali was alrealy backing the others and himself away from the Bear of a man when the noble him to. The sudden appearance of a winged mount almost made Samuali fall over form surprise.
"Looking for trouble, hmm?" The mount asked the brigand with a smirk.
"Whoa..." Said the brigand as he backed up a little from the sudden appearance of the mount. "So planing to cheat with back up? That sounds like something that i would do, wait, it is something i would do! Kill them all!" The brigand yelled as he raised his battle ax and charged with a sword wielding mercenary and thief that just broke from their hiding places.

"Heh!" Eren laughed, smiling as Mika's tail whipped around, catching the bandit's ankles and causing him to fall. Eren followed this up with a swift downward stroke of his axe, but was foiled by the bandit, who rolled out of the way. Eren swung his axe up barely in time to lock it with the bandit's. However, the rogue's superior muscle began to tire Eren, so he compensated by throwing a hard left. The bandit, caught by surprise, had an expression of disbelief as his head snapped back from Eren's jab. Following his punch with an unbalancing front kick, the Dragon Knight sent the bandit tumbling to the earth, quickly closing the distance and stepping on the bandit's wrist, pinning his axe.
"Nice try, bud," Eren derided the foolish robber as he smashed his axe into his chest once, twice, thrice. Stepping back, he surveyed the battle, wiping his brow as he stood ready for an attack.

The soldier rushed past the doomed brigand and charged the thief. His lance found its mark in the unarmored opponent's chest and sent him reeling back, bleeding heavily from his chest. However the man figured he wasn't going to go down by himself and used the last bit of his energy to rush the noble. The first attack missed, but brought the thief closer to Lucien where his blinding speed let him get in a slash just behind the shield into the leather armor under the plate of his left forearm. Lucien pushed the man away with the shield and the dying man slammed into the ground.
Chevalier didn't have much time before the mercenary was upon him. He was just able to parry his attack with his shield but it was knocked out of his hand. The man was a bit slower with the blade so Lucien was able to regain the initiative and jammed the lance into his abdomen, causing the man to scream in pain. The soldier raised the end of his lance and thrust it in deeper, widening the wound and cutting through his intestines... this man would certainly die.
Kicking the mercenary on his thigh forced him back quickly and the spear exited covered in blood. The soldier went over and picked up his shield just to make sure he didn't lose it, but the wound in his arm was giving him trouble. "Sir, I appreciate the aide. Where do you hail?"
The thief was still scrambling and trying to scurry away while the mercenary was screaming and bleeding to death on the ground.

Eren ended the screaming by planting his axe in the mercenary's head, causing him to jerk once violently before laying still.
"Do you need assistance, sir?" Eren said, moving over to the soldier's side. "I can assist you if necessary."
Standing upright, Eren saluted the soldier before speaking to him respectfully, as an equal. He didn't know this man's rank, but he fought bravely nonetheless.
"I am Brigadier General Eren Barrata, retired from Bern and later Ilia. Now, I'm exploring and traveling the land, free of military engagements. And you? From whence have you come, and where are you headed? I see you have company; if you don't mind, I would accompany you to your destination, to make sure you and your wards arrive safely. Also, if necessary, I can take full responsibility for the response to the attack, in the event that it would hurt your standing."

"Whoa." That was all that Samuali could say. He moved the father and son towards the two, not wanting to be standing alone if more showed up. "Um, thank you Brigator General Erien Barratan" mispronounced Samuali as he gave a weak salute. The sudden blood bath shook him up a bit and he could not think strait.
