Why? You can use an Iron Sword, or a Steel Sword, both take no speed off of you. Why use the iron, unless you have terrible skl or lck?

Some units take AS loss from Steel Swords: unpromoted Eliwood, Lyn, Guy, Raven and some others, promoted the list get shorter, Lyn, Karla (but in the chapter where you get her you get 10000 cash and Killer and Silver to buy) and Guy still have problems. Basically it is useful to have a both Steel and Iron: Steel to OHKO the weak, Iron to double the fast.

You already stated accuracy, and power sometimes is an issue. If you wanted to babysit a character, give your strong character the iron sword and maybe it will weaken just enough. Yes this is situational but meh. Also you might be saving up to buy something, take FE8 for example, you might buy iron swords, so that it wastes less money, can be used more so you can save up for stat boosters/whatever. Also you might not need a steel sword to kill the opponent, so why waste money when you could use a cheaper alternative.

Steel sword was an example. There are killer weapons, reavers, magic swords, legendaries, wo dao. more than just your basic iron weapon.
and infianate statups in fe8 is cheap.

Meh, anyways the legendary weapons kinda hurts your fund rating...

In FE:PoR on the last map almost everybody is useing Silver weapons. So useing just iron weapons is not a good idea.

Funds rating? Who cares about that? All the tactition rating is just to suck the fun out of the game. Which is why FE9 took it out.

Honestly, I still haven't beaten FE 6, or Shadow Hearts: From the New World yet... I might be more distracted, but I"ll still be here.
