Name: Elysse Spaulding
Class: Myrmidon
Hair Color: Light violet
Eye Color: Hazel
Age: 17
Appearance: Elysse has a more masculine than feminine figure, apart from her face. Strong, high cheekbones highlight her hazel eyes, as does her wide forehead. She as a button nose that is slightly crooked due to her brother breaking it when they were young. Her lips are full, but often rough rather than soft due to her upbringing as a farm girl. When she smiles, her cheekbones are even more pronounced, though many people don't notice due to her crooked front teeth.
Her neck is also rather slender, but that is where the majority of her feminine traits stop. Elysse's shoulders are broad, and her arms are lithely muscled, giving her a rather chiseled appearance. Her hands are rough and calloused, with wide palms that taper out into long fingers with chipped fingernails at the end. She has a small scar on the back of her left hand from an accident she's long since forgotten. Her torso has a rather flat chest, but chiseled abdominal muscles that distract from that fact.
Her legs, too, are packed with sinew. Their length not only adds to Elysse's almost six foot figure, but also makes them good for running, an activity she often takes part in. Her feet, like her face, remind others that she is, indeed, female, and are oddly small compared to the rest of Elysse's body, often throwing off her balance and making her clumsy.
Elysse's hair falls to the small of her back, but is often tied back in a braid, making it come to about halfway down her back instead. Its violet color is often streaked through with dusty brown, as she doesn't care to wash it until it starts feeling greasy, which often takes several days. When her hair is not down, it frames her face rather awkwardly, making it look rather square.
Clothes: Simple farm clothes are what Elysse often wears. Her shirts are short-sleeved, dusty brown, and quite often tattered. Her trousers come down to just above her knee, and are a slightly darker brown than her shirt. She often dons knee-high boots that are black, but quite often appear brown as they are covered in dirt. She has a coat that she bought that marks her as a Myrmidon, but finds it rather flashy and doesn't often wear it unless she plans to fight.
Born in: A small town north-east of Delfia
Story: Elysse grew up in a home that believed in the mantra 'children should be seen, not heard'. As a rather strong-willed child, she was expected to rebel against the mandate, but instead she complied, and is thus often soft-spoken, if she chooses to speak at all. From a young age she was taught that the only way to achieve anything was through hard work; her father wished for greatness for her and her older brother, Falk. They worked for her father in his fields, becoming the typical farm children. Despite their fatigue at the end of the day, their mother schooled them in basic mathematics and social skills, and their father taught them how to sword fight, believing that would be the easiest way for his children to ascend to something greater than farm workers. How their father knew how to fight, Elysse and Falk never learned.
Elysse's rather stubborn nature meant that she excelled in swordfighting. She never stopped practicing in her little free time, and improved quickly. This made Falk rather jealous, as it denied him both his masculine role as the fighter, and also his superiority in age. In a fit of rage he slammed Elysse's head against the kitchen table, resulting in a brief hiatus from sword fighting as her nose healed. Despite her time without practice, Elysse still beat Falk. His rage blinded him to her finessing moves and east dodges, and he never learned that brute strength would not always win. At the age of seventeen, when Elysse was fourteen, Falk left to go "find himself". Elysse had next to no free time, as her father now had one less set of hands in the fields, and her swordsmanship suffered. When her father finally admitted that she needed to commit to either swordfighting or farm work, Elysse, like her brother, left home.
