Cefia tucked the book into her bags, preparing to move as well. She didn't like the idea of being lumped together with brigands, even though it wouldn't be that far off of a description. However these lads and lasses were wanted criminals, but glancing at the entrance made her realize that wasn't much of a choice. She dressed as though she was prepared to smash some heads in herself. Walking through the front of the cave would probably label her as an enemy from whoever was chasing these bandits. The guy who was getting himself patched up wasn't giving her much reassurance.
"It seems as though I have waltzed into quite a predicament," she said to no one in particular. Talking aloud helped her think and she needed to decide quick on what to do. Her demeanor became slightly relaxed as she made some form of decision.
"If I may ask, what form of situation are you all in, perhaps we can work out an agreement later for my aid," she spoke, her voice light, as she checked her axe one final time to make sure she was ready for combat.

“Depends on whether or not you want to get involved”, spoke Faith as footsteps creaked from the opening. She turned quickly to see two burly men come into the cave. It was the two brigands that were escorting Butorega earlier, but now they were by themselves and moving to link up with Bones and Faith.
“Where is the captain”, spoke Faith a bit confused. She remembered seeing them grab his arms and assumed that they were forcing him to retreat.
“He went back to save the iron giant”, spoke the first brigand as he walked up to faith. He took a good look at Cefia and her Dragon Axe and decided that he wanted none of it. “So who is the lovely lady with the axe”, asked the brigand making sure to be polite as possible.
“Bystander”, spoke Bones as he walked up to the two. “How are things on the outside.”
“Crazy”, spoke the second Bandit adding himself into the group conversation. “You remember that group that was delayed by the storm.”
“Yeah”, spoke Bones.
“Well they just showed up. They took advantage of the enemies focus on us and smashed into their left flank sending the battle field into complete chaos. “
“Really”, spoke Bones as Faith cut him off.
“Anyway”, spoke the maiden as she walked up to Cefia. “If you want to help we would glady appreciate it. As for compensation you would have to talk to Wales the Buckethead. He is about two mountains away at our base camp. Help us out and he will reward you I can promise you that”, spoke Faith.
“Hay you two you are with me”, spoke Bones as he began to move back toward the entrance of the cave. “We need to make sure none of the Illian riders try to block the opening.”
“Right”, spoke the bandit duo
“I will go make sure that they have not cut off the exit”, spoke Faith as she rushed into the darkness of the cave.
“Good shot”, spoke Bones as he took a look at Cefia. “Berserker”, he whispered under his breath as he began to move. Bones never liked Berserkers. He found their style to wild for his taste. Outside the cave Butorega was battling Valin. Tiffany had made it half way up the hill and Yawn and his men were moving toward the escape point. Butorega turned as fast as he could as Valin flew by. He had fought against flying unites enough now to keep up with their speed and read into their attacks. He pulled his axe up just in time to block the lance. “He has gotten better”, spoke Butorega as he analyzed Valin’s attack. It was smart to attack only after his mount passed Butorega. If he would have done so before Butorega would have had time to counter attack. None the less Butorega knew he was going to need him off that mount. It was hard enough to fight him on foot let alone on his wyvern.
As Valin returned for another strike Butorega was ready. As the Wyvern descended Butorega planted his axe into the ground. He immediately rushed towards Bora’s dead body and lifted it over his head. As the mount flew in his direction he tossed the body at the rider hoping to knock him off his mount.

Lisa couldn't even register what was happening, it was all too hectic. Too fast, too confusing. She couldn't understand how Celice could do it, looking so calm even as over half of the pegasus knights that started this battle now littered the ground as nothing but corpses. Lisa could never do that, for all the fights she may have had with Celice she envied her talent like no other. Even as people died about her, she never stopped giving orders and organizing the troops. It wasn't as hopeless as it appeared either, a few of the 'dead' knights weren't fully without life as the clerics rushed and stabilized the fallen comrades. They couldn't fight any longer, without a doubt, but they would most likely live. Of course it wasn't so fortunate for most of them, but you must find hope wherever it may hide.
Still, just as things sometimes went for the better, they also were just as likely to go for the worse. It seemed some complete jerks decided 'hey now's a PERFECT time to start fighting!' and attacked them for little reason. They weren't bandits, by no measure, they wore armor and bore a coat of arms. Why anyone would assist bandits was simply beyond her, even the Bernese rebellion weren't so reprehensible to do such a thing, right?
Medusa whinnied as she dove suddenly, surprising even Lisa herself as an arrow flew over her head. Her heart was beating like a snare drum, she never even saw that. If May hadn't dodged, well she wasn't sure it would kill her, but it would definitely not be what she wanted. She looked around to see that it was a nomad who fired the shot, and that he was notching another arrow to fire again. She tapped her flying mare on the side of her head, and the two began to move evasively in the air. A section of the infantry who were chasing the bandits branched off to deal with the new threat, and while the nomad was distracted by the other troops Lisa dove. She speared through the air with great speed, holding her lance out and flying like a weapon of destruction as a thunderous crash rang through the air as the spear plunged it's way into the nomad's flesh, knocking him from his steed and onto the ground. Was he dead? Or just injured? She couldn't tell as she took off without a single moment's wait, she didn't want to be surrounded unexpectedly. While most of the soldiers followed Celice in trying to remove the bandits from their hiding place, the soldiers that followed Lisa's lead engaged the scum that tried to attack them while they were already engaged in combat.

A loud boom suddenly filled the air. The sound brought Orcleous back to reality as he saw a Pegasus knight take down the nomad. “Walter”, shouted Orcleous as he rushed over to the man. Walter was the only person in the army that treated him nicely and was the only person he could truly call friend.
“Walter, Walter”, shouted Orcleous as he shook the man over and over. Blood was running from his wound and his body seemed life less. “Walter”, shouted Orcleous again, but this time the man twitched! “Walter”, he shouted with glee as the man opened his eyes. The wound however was still bleeding and Orcleous immediately began to try and close it. “Hang on Walter”, spoke Orcleous, but the man stopped him.
“NO”, spoke Walther as he pulled himself off the ground. “It is too late for me. You need to get yourself with the other unite.”
“No way Walter”, spoke Orcleous as he attempted to help the man again. “I need to treat your wound and get you to safety.”
“NO Orc”, shouted Walter. “You need to get out of here. You are too young to die here”, spoke the man as he coughed up blood. Orcleous eyes opened wide as he realized that Walter words were right. “Take Brown Hair”, spoke the man as he pointed toward his horse.
“But what about you”, spoke Orcleous.
“Don’t worry about me kido”, spoke Walter. “I am a soldier of Bern and a member of the coalition. It is my duty to die on the battlefield. You however are just some stupid kid that got himself into some trouble. You need to get out of here alive.”
“Right”, spoke Orcleous as he mounted Walter’s horse. He stopped and looked back at the man one more time. He etched Walter’s image into his brain and began to ride off on the horse. The nomad quickly picked up his bow and began to fire one more arrow. As he released the arrow from his hand he fell to the ground and passed out from blood loss. The snow was painted a brilliant crimson.
As Orcleous rode on the horse he noticed a shift in the Illian troops movements. The infantry that was once in utter chaos straighten up and began to move against them.
“They must have one hell of a commander”, spoke Malic as he cut down one of the enemy troops. He soon realized that he and his unite were going to be annihilated if they did not join up with the original raiders. “All unites form up”, shouted Malic as he moved his men into a wedge formation. He turned to see Orcleous on Brown Hair. “Where is Walter”, spoke the man though he already knew the answer.
“He fell”, spoke Orcleous trying his best to control the horse.
“I see”, spoke Malic. “He was always soft on you”. Without another word Malic lead the charge into the Illian forces. His men moved to cut a path through the enemy lines and regroup with the brigands fleeing into the cave. Orcleous followed swiftly behind struggling to control Walters horse.

"Well quite frankly what I want is quite irrelevant and quite frankly against your personal interests," Cefia replied, taking off her monocle and tucking it into one of her personal pockets. It was safer from being crushed that way. She watched as more men poured in, many worse for wear. They better move if they wanted to save as many men as possible. She let out a sigh, throwing her steel axe over her shoulder and following the woman.
"Wai' a momen' lass, I be comino 'elp!" She called out, dropping her rather formal speech pattern for pirate banter. It was a complete change from the calm, almost disinterested tone she had before. It definitely had a lighter and peppy feel to it, it seemed as though they needed some of that. Besides habit died hard after all.

Valin cursed himself for missing. Why is the gap so vast between us. Valin thought as braced for another fly by. He and the drake swooped forward again. I cut you this time. He saw Balgoth break and surged faster there was no way he'd let him break away this time. The bandit then throw the dead body at the rider and Valin saw his chance.
Valin let the body get near and buck Albues up letting it seem that that the attack had worked and obscuring his opponents vision. He then dropped him self from the wyvren and as he landed lunged his lance forward. Albues then landed and Lashed out with its claws with a broad swipe of it right arm.

What”, spoke Faith as she turned around to see Cefia join her? It was a bit odd for her as she was sure the berserker would pass up the opportunity let alone the sudden shift in the way the woman was speaking. None the less Faith could not turn down the help. “Well welcome aboard”, spoke Faith with no pawn intended. She waited for Cefia to catch up and began to move through the cave once again. The duo needed to find the exit that lead through the mountain and needed to mark the way so that the others could find their way through the cave.
“Hurry up and get in here Tiffany”, spoke Bones as the maiden reached the cave. She looked back to see Butorega fighting against Valin.
“We need to get the captain”, she spoke as she turned around, but Bones was not going to have it.
“No we don’t”, spoke Bones as the two other men grabbed her arms. They seemed quite skilled at this particular restraint. “Butorega can take care of himself. He is a captain after all. What you need to do is guard the entire to the cave till Faith returns with her report. “
Reluctantly Tiffany agreed with Bones and the two brigands let go of her arms. The nine foot armored giantess then took up position in the center of the cave structure giving off the message NONE SHALL PASS! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
“What the hell”, shouted Butorega as the Wyvern charged forward. He was sure he had him with the corpse, but it seemed Valin had many tricks up his sleeve. Well that was to be expected from a knight. They trained day after day for war and his training was done both on foot and on the back of his beast.
There were two attacks coming at Butorega. The first was from the front that was Valin with his spear. He was quite skilled to close the gap so quickly. The second was his Wyvern from the back. Immediately Butorega mind began to judge his possible actions. The first was to ignore Valin and charge the beast. Avoid its claws and uses the wyverns body as a shield. However this could backfire and the Wyvern could pin him to the ground and he would be left venerable to Valin’s spear. The second option was to charge Valin. Dodge his incoming attack and smash his axe into his neck. Then deal with the wyvern that will no doughty be in hot pursuit. This was also a no no. As all Valin had to do was take a blow in the side again like last time and Butorega would be a sitting duck for the beast behind him. Then there was the third option and the one Butorega chose.
Immediately Butorega dashed to his right side avoiding the wyverns attack and forcing Valin to change directions. The battle was no longer on two fronts, but rather the wyvern and its rider in a hot pursuit. Butorega however knew his surroundings. As he dashed to the right he came by a corpse of a Pegasus knight that had been killed by a hand axe. He grabbed the axe and threw it at the mount breaking its hot pursuit. In that small window he charged forward and struck out at Valin with a downward slash. “Can’t take this blow”, spoke Butorega.

"Ugh why do we have to be here?" said a soldier. They had been placed here to patrol for any bandits and quite frankly this was the boring part. There was only a few people in their unit, only five or so. At least they were properly armed for a skirmish at most. So there they sat, surrounded by what seemed like nothing. To them though, they had no idea or notification of the combat going on the other side of their encampment.
"I mus' shout lass, seems quite clear ou' here, I'll take care 'o these riffraff fer ya, or rather hold' em off while ya report." Cefia said, taking a good look at the men. She wasn't sure if she'll be able to take them all out at once, but she can definitely hold them off long enough for the others to get here.
"Now off ya go lass, let ol' Cefia take care of ya," she continued, before coming out of the cave. It definitely alarmed the soldiers on the other side. As soon as they saw the axe, they readied their own weapons. However the way they seemed to shake made it obvious they weren't experienced soldiers.
"I mus' ask ya to take some rest." she stated with a rather wide grin on her face.

The Brigands speed of thought and movement was starting to really piss Valin off. Balgoth was to good to let live for he was to great a threat to any he fought and his leadership was great as well. As the rider and mount chase after Balgoth the Valin waited to see what trick would be pulled next. It came in the form of a bloody axe aimed for the drake. Valin broke his attention to see if his loyal companion was harmed thankful Albues was alright.
The knight snapped back to battle when the Brigand yelled his warning. Balgoth was right the knight couldn't take the blow but he could counter. Valin raised his lance to let the axe hit the middle of the spears haft at an angle. The Axe head slide down the lance toured the knights right shoulder, Valin let go with right hand so it wasn't in the blades way and swang the palmal at the bandits face. The ax smashed in Valins Pauldron with a load crack But the back swing carried through.

“Bastard”, shouted Butorega as the spear pommel slammed into his face. It hit the same side he got punched on. There was a bit of satisfaction in it though for Butorega. His axe hit Valin, but it was not the spot he wanted. His shoulder should have taken some damage from the blow, but that was not good enough for Butorega. He was out for blood.
Without wasting another moment Butorega turned back towards his opponent. He let out a great roar as his fist flew through the air aiming at Valin’s face. However the Brigands action was cut short as he saw Valin’s crimson eye. What the hell thought Butorega as he cancelled his attack and jumped backwards. He had never noticed Valin’s red eye before and was not sure if it was natural, or if it was a vision. The fact that Butorega did not recognize Valin’s red eye before made the brigand lean towards the latter of the two choices.
A blank stare crossed Butorega face for a moment. His mind immediately shifted back to his grandfather tales of battle. In some places death was so common that the spirits of the dead would descend to the earth and possess corpses and warriors. He knew very well Valin was not shade nor was he a walking corpse, but for all Butorega knew the Wyvern Knight could have been possessed by the spirit of the villagers to extract vengeance upon him.
“Hay Captain”, a voice rang out over the battle field. It was Bones and Butorega knew it without looking. “The Illian main force is moving in toward your direction! You need to get to the cave!”
“Right”, shouted Butorega as he stared into Valin crimson eye. It was now that he realized that the eye was natural. If it was of the sprites they surely would have taken him by now. “Thank your crimson eye that you are not dead”, spoke Butorega as he turned and rushed up the hill. He was soon followed by Yawn and one of his soldiers. The other was cut down by the Illians during the fighting.
“He is a tough one”, spoke Yawn as Butorega reached the cave.
“No”, spoke Butorega. “He is just lucky.”
Meanwhile Faith and Cefia reached the other side of the cave. She saw a couple of soldiers patrolling the area, but from what she could tell they were not with the other group. They were probably just a regular patrol and would not provide much trouble with the rest of the group.
Cefia volunteered to take on the enemy while Faith reported back to the rest of the group. “Fine”, spoke Faith as she turned to go back through the cave. “I know we just meet”, spoke Faith. “But don’t die on us. I don’t want any more comrades’ blood being spilled.” With those words Faith rushed back into the cave running as fast as she could. It was critical that she got the information back to the rest of the group. Their survival was depending on whether or not they could get through this cave, and in truth faith did not like the idea of leaving Cefia alone to fight the Illian patrol.
As faith reached the other side of the cave Butorega was setting up their defense. He had taken a spot near Tiffany and was fighting back against the Illian infantry that attempted to enter the cave. Bones and Yawn were providing support and the last three from Yawn group were waiting to switch out with the next man.
“It is clear”, shouted Faith as she reached the Brigands.
“Good shouted”, Butorega as he cut down a soldier. “Tiffany begin to fall back. You are the slowest amongst up and we need you to get through before the rest of us.”
“Right”, spoke the Knight reluctantly as she pulled off the front line. Two of Yawn men rushed forward to take her spot.
“I will go with here as well”, spoke Bones breaking off from support. He was approved with a nod from Butorega. Faith swiftly followed showing the two the way out of the cave.

Oc:Im sorry for being in a rush by posting this ahead of Cefia
“Thank my eye! This damned this is why were enemies You Bastered!”[/font] Valin saw a dead Pegaus knight near by she had a bag of javelins on her back. Valin ran to the corpse and tied to grab bag off of it but his right arm would not move. It was clear that it was dislocated. Albues dropped down beside the rider with a hard trud. “ Albues hold my lance.” The night drake took the riders lane into its mouth. Valin quickly grabbed the javelins with his left arm and slang them on his back. He then mounted Albues and looked to were Balgoth had fled. He saw the cave being defended by the brigands, the Knight he fought earlier and Balgoth.
The Knight urged his mount in to a charge and readied a javelin. He knew that he need to thin out Balgoths men If he was going to be a threat to the brigand in this condition. He throw his first Javaline at the Giantess saying “Im sorry for this Lady knight. But you chose the wrong side.” Just before the flying spear hit its mark the woman moved and was replaced by two Brigands. The javelin hit the one on Valins left in the throat, the man didn’t realize that he was dead and tried to pull it out. “Damn it all!” Valin yelled pulling another javelin out. The rider and drake closed the distance and jumped the second man. Albues grabbed the man in his jaws and Valin plunged his weapon into the man two times. The Pair skidded into the cave and Valin issued his Challenge. "Balgoth! Were not through yet!” This was suicide but this was his path.

Lisa couldn't even begin to count how many had died, but there was one thing for sure. Of all the Pegasi that started this fight, only her and Celice remained. Two flying fighters in this chaos of blood and bones. She couldn't spy Valin anywhere either, he must have fallen in battle as well. The soldiers were faring far better than the first squad of pegasi have, successfully pushing the enemy back. Still it wasn't fair, some of those knights had years of experience on her, and they were defeated so easily. The only reason Lisa still lived is because unlike the others, she never rushed into the battle itself. She's hung back, taken potshots, and in general been too afraid to actually fight. She couldn't help but wonder if this was caution, or cowardice. Chances were she'd be dead herself if she tried to get into the thick of things, but maybe if she had she could have prevented some from dying? Maybe she would kill that man who threw the axe in Meredith's face, maybe she pushes Ashley out of the way before she is slaughtered. Or maybe... she would have taken that axe instead.
These weren't good thoughts to have. She was a trainee, a rookie, she really had no place on the front lines of a battle like this. She needed more training, she needed... UGH THIS SUCKED. She didn't become a pegasus knight so she could be a trainee, but she also didn't join just to die. She still had plans, lots of plans. She still needs to meet some rich guy, she still needs to live long enough to get booted from the squad, she still needed to make sure her brother get a spot on council by using her peggy influence, she needed to get a nice spear from her father and brother's smithery. She needed to find the calling of hers in life, and she wasn't gonna find it if she died here.
Medusa seemed just as hesitant as Lisa was, as the two remained in the sky watching the infantry clash with the others and chase bandits into a conveniently placed cave. She wasn't even entirely sure what was going on, it was hard to tell people apart, who was fighting who, and where they all were. She didn't have a mind for this kind of thing, she could probably never be a commander. Much less one as collected as Celice, whom despite everything seemed to have everything under control all the same.
"Gauss!" She heard someone calling her, sending a jolt down her spine. "If you aren't going to fight, take the wounded to safety!" She turned her head to see Celice looking at her. She imagined it was a judgemental look, but chances were she didn't even have time to do such a thing. She held a blade in her hand and was gone just as quickly as she arrived, diving into the fray herself. It was probably just Elisabeth's guilt speaking more than anything. She felt like she was useless here, and carrying back the wounded was a way she could help without getting herself killed.
She saw a wyvern nearby and heard it's cry, that was Valin. She wasn't sure if she was worried or furious at him, probably a little bit of both really. She saw him dive into the cave like a... well like how he's been acting this whole fight. Idiotic really, she honestly shouldn't have expected anything else. He had a real blood frenzy over this one guy, who wasn't even the leader as far as she could tell.
That's when she heard something, it was light and almost impossible to hear over the din of this battle. The only reason she could was because she had stayed so far away from it all together. It was a light sound, carried to her by the breeze. It sounded like... Wings. The flapping of wings. She said something before, that it was hard for soldier to traverse this wasteland of snow. That villages got sacked all the time because there was no easy way for reinforcements to be called, that was, except for... Pegasus Knights. There was no knights but her and Celice though, so where was this coming from? Why would they come?
It wasn't important, but now it made her realize that as deceitful and tricky these bandits have proven to be, there was no way they would win. You can clip a pegasus' wings, but you can't stop them from trying to fly. That's what she was after all, a pegasus knight. She became one to help protect people, and if she wasn't protecting anyone like this.
She dove down in a spiral of white, faster and faster she fell, blazing across the skies in a streak of pearl like a shooting star. Just before crashing, Medusa realigned herself and they flew straight to the cave's mouth after Valin. "Valin!" She shouted, her voice echoing all across the cavern. "You need to pull back!" He was being suicidal, so if she wanted to keep people from dying he was the best place to start. After all, he was a citizen. "Let the soldiers take care of this! You swore an oath!"

Post by Cefia on Nov 13, 2013 10:37:30 GMT -6
“No worrie, jus’ hurry long ya crew lass, ye all need it,” she had responded, not completely sure about the whole matter herself.
The soldiers were definitely caught off guard by the sudden appearance of a woman carrying so many axes. Her tone was almost mocking and it didn't take long for the youngest soldier to pick up her weapon and charge. It was obvious she was a hostile and with all things considered they should have the advantage in number. Yet the leader of the group couldn't help but worry. She moved with the ease of a veteran and her confident nature didn't help.
To Cefia though, no battle is ever guaranteed. Yet she knew a few things from experience. As the first soldier charged with his lance, she used her axe to knock off his balance. Immediately afterwards, she took her free friend and used it to punch the man back. She could feel bones cracking under her knuckles. He really should have worn his helmet. The young man stumbled back, obviously stunned. That was the perfect chance to use her axe for a backswing if another soldier hadn't stepped in.
The intrusion didn't stop her from trying as the new soldier tried to use his lance to defend himself. The lance didn't break, but it did knock him off his feet a bit, causing him to stumble backwards a bit. Taking the chance, she grabbed the steel axe with both hands and let out a swipe. The other soldiers' eyes widened in horror as they watched the body slump down to its knees and collapse, a pool of blood expanding where the head once was.
At this point the captain of the squad had gathered his wits and tried to tell the rest of the soldiers to form up. However the two soldiers in the back had panicked and soon ran for their lives, darting in the opposite direction in fear. He cursed under his breath; only to see that the axe woman had took another swing at the youngest recruit. He wasn’t dead but the wound was quickly pouring out. He can’t run off now, not for the sake of his pride, but for the ones that had fallen. Someone had to take care of the body.
The last soldier that stood was going to give Cefia some trouble, evident by the fact that he had a helmet and prepared his shield. Her style of fighting was never cautious, so she brought down her steel axe with both hands. The shield took the force of the attack, causing him to cringe down and being pushed back. However a spear soon found its way in hopes of an opening, only glancing off her shoulder guard. The man wasn’t giving up as her head was soon smacked by the side of the lance. It hurt and gave her a slight daze, she was thankful for her hard head. Taking the chance, he thrusted his lance again, but missing. She had taken a step back, bringing her axe for another swing with her hand and reaching for her hand axe with the other. As she hit the shield again, she tossed the axe aside, causing it to lodge itself into a nearby tree. Within that split second, she tossed her hand axe at the opening. The sound of a scream and the image of the lance dropping made her smile as she hit her mark.
She didn’t bother having the axe return, instead she took out her dragon axe and did a underside horizontal swing. The axe’s serrated teeth dug and tore through the armor. She gritted her teeth and forced the weapon all the way through the body. As the soldier fell apart on the ground, she turned to pick up the rest of her weapons. She secured her dragon axe and hand axe again before pulling the steel axe free. As she waited for the others to arrive, she took the time to grab a handful of dirt and sprinkling it on each body. She might be a brute, but she was no heartless and cultureless one. She respected the dead and a challenge. Honestly If the soldiers were more experienced and formed up around her, she might not have gotten away with headache and bruise.

Suddenly for Orcleous the battle began to heat up. Malic and the rest of the men fought hard, but the Illian troops began to overwhelm them. Suddenly the sound of beating wings filled the air and a rain of javelins fell upon the unsuspecting troops. Immediately the cavalier was killed along with the archer. Orcleous was lucky as the javelins missed him and only killed the horse.
“Ouch”, cried Orcleous as he fell into the snow. He looked up to see white wings beating above. Illia had sent reinforcements and from what he could tell it was another full squad. Fear began to flood Orcleous heart as the idea of death began to sink in. The young boy sat there for a moment simply shaking in the snow.
“Get up boy”, a voice came out of nowhere. The armored knight pulled him out the snow and pointed toward the cave. “Come on we have to reach the cave before…”, stat was all he could say before a silver blade pierced his heart. The leader of the leader of the enemy forces had swooped down and ended him. She turned her gaze towards Orcleous and pulled back her blade.
The sound of metal smashing against metal filled the air as Malic swooped in and blocked the blow. The great knight seemed unharmed. The javelin assault earlier did little to no effect on him, nor his steed. Good armor goes a long way.
“Hurry up and get to the cave”, spoke Malic as he pushed the maidens blade back. The Pegasus knight had far too much experience to simply fight with Malic on the ground. She immediately took off breaking away from the great knight. The knight however was not going to have it. “She is mine”, spoke Talick as he rushed off leaving Orcleous in the snow.
“The cave”, spoke Orcleous as he got to his feet. The young novice began to run as fast as he could. As he reached the cave he was knocked over by a Wyvern as a redhead man screamed someone’s name. He looked up and saw his crimson eye as the wyvern screeched filled the cave. “Monster”, spoke Orcleous as fear began to grow in his heart.
Run, run, the words seemed to repeat in his head as he moved through the cave. He now knew why his father called war hell.

“Ok I have had enough of him”, spoke Butorega as he stared at Valin. Of all the men and woman on this battle field Valin had claimed the lives of more of his men than anyone else.
“I as well”, spoke Yawn as Valin just finished off the last of his men. The duo looked at each other and gave a nod. Together they charged Axe and Sword at the ready. Valin was about to pay dearly for the blood he had spilled in this battle.
Just as the duo made their move to attack Valin a Pegasus knight rushed into the cave at astonishing speed. The sudden appearance of a Pegasus knight caught both men off guard and made them cancel their attack.
“What the hell”, shouted Butorega. He was not sure if that was a stupid move, as the Pegasus knight was now inside of a cave were she could not fly, or was it brilliant as it stopped the two brigands from murdering her ally. None the less the stun was temporary as the duo moved to relaunch their assault. However with the cave entrance no longer being guarded by Yawn and Butorega the Illian infantry began to swarm in.
“Retreat”, spoke Yawn as he looked at Butorega.
“Good idea”, spoke the brigand as he took off running. Valin had pissed him off, but killing him was not worth Butorega life. He could fight one or two Illian soldiers, but the mass horde that swarmed into the cave was not his choice of death. He still had things to do, and goals to achieve. He was not going to die in a cave on the Illian boarder trying to kill some red eyed Wyvern Knight.
“See you at the exit”, spoke Yawn as he passed Butorega.
“Son of a bitch”, spoke Butorega as Yawn disappears into the darkness of the cave. The Illians were not far behind. They had no intentions of letting Butorega get away. As much damage Valin had done to his men. He had done the same to the Illians. Butorega had reached half way through the cave when he heard a familiar voice.
“Captain”, the word rang out as he saw Tiffany standing at the choke point of the cave. Here the cave was a narrower and had less space to move. Only one unite at a time could pass though this section.
“Tiffany”, spoke Butorega as he took a look behind. The Illians soldiers were not far behind him. “Hay you need to get moving” , shouted Butorega. The maiden however stood still as Butorega passed by. He strange action caught the brigand by surprise as the maiden stood in the center of the narrow path. “What are you doing”, asked Butorega though he already knew.
“No time to argue captain”, spoke Tiffany. “I will hold the enemy off here while you all escape. I could not keep up with you all anyway.”
“Tiffany”, spoke Butorega. He knew her words were true and seed was of the essence. “What am I going to tell your father”, spoke Butorega. “You know Draco is going to want my head for your death.”
“Tell him I died like a warrior”, spoke the giantess as she placed her bent helmet back on her head. As the words left her mouth the first wave of Illian mercenaries reached the choke point. Tiffany stood there like a giant towering over the men. He shield was held forward and her lance pulled back. “Come and meet your end”, she shouted! There was nothing more Butorega could do.
“Die well”, spoke Butorega as he rushed off into the darkness of the cave.
“Same to you captain”, spoke Tiffany as the first mercenary charged. His blade was blocked by her shield and her spear pierced through his chest. There was no avoiding her. The Illian forces would have to come one by one to face her. It was the perfect position with the perfect unites.
“Damn it”, shouted Butorega as he reached the other end of the cave. He was met with Yawn, Faith, and Bones.
“What happened to Tiffany”, asked Faith as she saw Butorega exit the cave alone.
“She chose to stay behind”, spoke Butorega as he looked up at Faith. A sad expression covered her face.
“Man we lost a lot of guys”, spoke Bones.
“I lost all my men as well”, spoke Yawn. “This is my fault. If I would have just listened instead of being a prideful fool, then our guys would have not died.”
“Not the time Yawn”, spoke Butorega as he turned toward away from the group. His eyes were met at first with a young novice. He knew the boy. He had seen him with Malic once. The last man alive thought Butorega as he looked at Orcleous. It was a true pity. Malic unite was one of the finest they had. He then continued to turn and saw a face that he did not recognize.
“Who the hell are you”, spoke Butorega as he stared at Cefia. Butorega social graces were gone by this point.
“Oh that is Cefia”, spoke Faith as she began to move. “She helped us by clearing out the back of the cave. If it was not for her we would have had a rough time getting out of the other end.”
“I had the same reaction”, chuckled Yawn.
“I see”, spoke Butorega as he stared at the blood staining the ground. The Dragon Axe on the maidens back caught his attention more than anything. It was a good axe and Butorega was quite envious. He coughed once to clear his mind. “I am sure Faith probably promised some coin for your aid”, spoke Butorega. He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a bag of coins. The bag use to belong to Lander, but after his death Butorega took it with the intention of giving the gold to his family.
“I was going to give this to Lander’s family, but”, spoke Butorega as he threw Cefia the bag of coins. “I can just replace it when we return back to Bern. None the less”, spoke Butorega we need to get moving.”
Swiftly the brigands began to move through the mountains on the other side of the cave. Butorega made sure to cover their tracks and take a route shielded from the sky as much as possible. The Brigands had a safe house not far from here, but Butorega did not want to bring this force down onto the men stationed there.
