Lovely would be an easy way to describe the almost picturesque Eturian day along one of the many smaller roads leading north towards Ilia. The weather is cool and breezy, causing the thick trees bracketing the hard packed dirt to sway and scatter leaves that scratch across the ground. And above it all, sits a young woman perched in the arch of a large branch that leans out over the road. Her cloak drapes down above the read, about a foot or two over the heads of anyone who would be wandering down. Her legs have been pulled up, balancing her precariously on the branch as her bow hangs slung from shoulder her shoulder and over her chest by it's string.
And, it really is quite peaceful! Well, other than the sounds of the young woman tucking into a juicy peach with several loud gnashes. The ground below her already littered with several pits as she sucks on her latest prey. Her chin might be a mess of sticky juice, her hands far from better as well, but her green eyes twinkle brightly as she basks in the ray of sun that perfectly breaks through the canopy and bathes her in warmth. It really was a perfect day! Even if it had begun to be a bit bland for Aelia, but then, that's why she's perched where she is. There's very little that's much more fun than harassing travelers, well, when they're not armed and have a good sense of humor that is.

Lynessa had spent the last two weeks visiting an old friend of her in Etruria. Now she was on her way back to her home in Ilia, walking up the path toward the snowy country. This road was small and quiet compared to the main road connecting both countries. Actually, she chose this road for that sole reason. There was less people here which meant she would be able to avoid attracting attention when she decided to transform. To go between her village and her friend's village would need three days by foot or roughly one and half day with horse, although Lynessa needed only half day if she flew. But to do that she had to use her power to make her wings appear, which she couldn't do recklessly.
Lynessa walked casually, humming a beautiful melody as she walked. The ice dragon was looking for an empty and secluded space for her to transform. So far, she had no luck since she occassionally met other travellers. She continued her walk until she stopped under a peach tree to rest. "Geez....Don't tell me I have to walk all the way to Ilia! Flying is much faster and less tiring!" she grumbled as she opened her water pouch.

There's a rustle, and then a shuffling above Lynessa that's then followed by the sound of something swinging, as if a branch above her was coming down! Only for there to be several snaps and thumps as no less than four or five chewed peach pits hit the ground around Miss-Scales-In-Disguise. And, possibly, one or two might thunk off of her head depending on her reflexes.
"You know, it's pretty hard to get to Ilia without walking when you don't have a horse. And even harder to fly without a pegasus." A voice will chime out sweetly from above Lynessa, followed by several woody creaks. If Lynessa were to look up she'd get an eyeful of a young woman peering down at her, the girl has suspended herself upside down from a heavy branch above her, both legs curled at the knee around the branch and one hand brandishing her bow at her side with the other gripping an arrow in it's quiver as she arches her back to prevent all of her ammunition from slipping free. "But then, that's a cold, awful place anyways." She'll chime oh so very sweetly, swinging back and forth a bit as she pokes her tongue down at the woman leaning against her tree. It doesn't have her name on it, but close enough! "And with looks like that, you're better off with visiting some Eturian noble's manor." She'll add with a hum, blonde bangs hanging free of her face as she takes her hand from her quiver and offers a snappy little wave to the Dragon.

Lynessa heard faint rustle before it gradually getting louder. She looked up thinking that there might be some squirrels or birds causing such ruckus. But what came next was some pit, and every pieces scored a perfect hit at her. It was quite painful, actually. She snarled after being bombed by such unexpected weapon. "It's not polite to do that to strangers, little girl." The girl actually didn't look that young after she observed her carefully. She would be lying if she said she wasn't annoyed, but Lynessa stayed calm as she looked up to the girl. It probably didn't have any bad intention there, so her prank might be forgiven.
There was a little relief knowing that she didn't reveal the most secret information about herself. The girl's reaction and words didn't show any suspicions toward the dragon. "Well, what I said was actually pretty normal thing, anyway. I guess it wasn't strange or anything..." she thought. Lynessa brushed out some peach pits from her hairs as she stood up. There was no ill will toward the girl but some payback would be interesting later, she thought. "Cold? Maybe, but really...awful? I won't say that," she replied, smirking. The temperature there was perfect for an ice dragon so her opinion about Ilia was anything but bad. She wasn't quite sure how to take Aelia's last sentences. Was it an compliment? "Thank you, I guess. But surely they would never accept a poor woman like me? Besides, I don't really like those big manors," she said, shrugging.
"Hey, what are doing up there? Wait...I think I know the answer. I guess I am not the only one you bombed today, huh?" she said, laughing. Although she wanted to be angry, something about that girl eased that thought.

Aelia grins toothily on down at her prey, the young archer winking at the Dragon Woman. "Ah ah ah, looks can be deceiving~" She giggles happily, swinging some more as the irony of that comment is absolutely lost on her. "Anyways, you walked under my peach tree, and through your own choices, most likely laziness or a fondness to get pelted by fruit pits, you failed to move yourself in time to avoid the pits. In truth, I should be making you pay ME reparations for denting my peach pits with your noggin!" She'll remark with a mock gasp, even while she continues to hang upside down, and with just the smuggest look on her face. And hey, she isn't dropping anymore fruit on Lynessa, they're making progress already!
"The cold is what makes it awful! Even if the pine forests are kinda nice, but it's all fun and games till you lose a toe to frost bite. And don't get me started on the food up there, or those crazy pegasus knights and their horse obsession." She goes on with a roll of her emerald eyes before they lock back on to Dragons-In-disguise below her. "You'd be surprised." The Run-a-away royal chirps down to her new bestest best friend forever she just made a moment ago. Because a relationship forged through throwing fruit at one another was one that was forever destined to be beautiful and eternal.
She'll unhook one of her legs at the final question, the woman crooking it at her knee and seemingly stretching it out as she pointedly avoids conversing with She-Who-Gets-Pelted-By-Pits in anything resembling a normal manner. "Ah-Ah-Ah." She starts, ticking her tongue and shaking her head with an almost malicious grin. "First things first, the real question is what are you doing? You're not an Ilian, or at the very least, if you are... You're certainly not a normal one." She says, narrowing her eyes in an almost conspirator manner. "Your face is all wrong to be one of those Equine fanatics. It's too... Sharp? Not to mention your skin is free of the blemishes that growing up in a place that's twenty four seven whipping winds and flying ice causes." She adds, cocking an eyebrow. For all of her childish like goading, she seems to have a sharp mind up in there.

"Well, I guess I don't have good reflex...And don't forget that you caught me by surprise. I could have dodged if I wasn't ambushed." This girl had a quite interesting personality, she thought. Lynessa saw Aelia as a straightforward person, she talked whatever she had in mind without caring or feeling awkward. The dragon didn't hate this, but surely she hoped this girl could use some lecture about manners. Lynessa took a few steps away from the tree, just to make sure no extra pits would fall toward her. "And I should charge you for my medical expense!" she added, following her joke, although she wasn't entirely sure the girl was joking.
"You aren't wrong about frost bite, but I rarely see that happen to the Ilians. We know and have precautions for cold. Believe me! It's not so bad, try to visit sometimes. You might want to see the snow field, you could play or make snowman then," she said, extending her hand as if she invited the girl to come to Ilia. Having lived there for years, she wouldn't like if anyone thought bad about Ilia, her husband's homeland. It might not be a greatest paradise for people to live due to difficult climate but the natives were proud of their homeland.
"By the way, I must say that you are an athletic one. You are moving around freely as if you become one with the tree," she praised Aelia for her acrobatic feats. Although not impressed with those movements, she had to admit those weren't easy, for humans, at least. "And to answer your question...I am simply heading back to Ilia. And I must say you are also right about me not being an Ilian. I am from....distant place. I just live there with my family." No way she could tell Aelia she was from Ilia from a thousand years ago and that she wasn't a human. Her expression turned a little sour when the archer asked the question. There was slight worry in Lynessa's mind now. That kind of question was often asked to the dragon, she really didn't look much like Ilian after all, but she have always avoided suspicion by claiming that she came from distant land. Only a few people in Elibe had visited every part of the continent so it was safe to make up some name for a city or an unnamed region. "You haven't told you my name, stranger. You can call me, Lynessa. Or just Lyn if you want. From your accent you must be a Etrurian, right?"

Aelia closes her eyes and swings a bit more as Lynessa defends her lack of reflexes. "Ah ah, we don't ask for excuses~" She'll hum in a sing song way, taking about every opportunity available to her to tease the woman. "And hey! You look like you've got a pretty thick noggin, I think you'll make it." She adds, opening up her eyes only so she can wink once again as she switches which leg she's using to hoist herself up. Now, whether she always acted like this or was really just keen in tormenting random travelers was up in the air! But all signs seem to point that this is her genuine personality, which is no doubt rather scary! It's also quite impossible to tell when she's joking, because she's been flashing that same smile the whole way through.
"Ooooh, I've been, trust me." She'll remark in a ho hum fashion, her face growing a little red as she's been hanging around for a bit. "And it's all cold and horses up there. And warm ale." The archer will add before cocking an eyebrow at the gesturing hand, which, she of course will grab with just the widest smile. So, there she is, the silliest look possible on her face while she holds More-Than-Meets-The-Eye's hand, while hanging upside down, and brandishing her bow with the other. "Also, don't trust the Snowmen." She warns, narrowing her eyes and pursing her lips with a little noise, her tone quite grave all the sudden. Then she'll let out a little giggle as she finally releases Lynessa's hand and with several swings and a little grunt of exertion, hauls herself on up to the branch to peer down on the woman right side up.
"Once you've climbed one, you seem to have climbed them all..." She trails off after the praise, her cheeks only the slightest bit pink as she rubs the bark of the tree before standing up on the branch. "Oooh, exotic huh? One of the places on the map where someone writes 'here be dragons' or something?" She asks with a giddy noise, now, there's no way in all of Eturia that she actually thinks Lynessa could be a dragon, if only because such a thing was so amazingly ludicrous it doesn't even register in possibilities. Heck, Lynessa was more likely to be a pirate (the peg leg kind) in her mind!
And after the Dragon Woman will pass off her name, Aelia will flash another childlike grin before she pushes herself off the branch a foot backwards, only to grab it with her hands and then drop herself to the ground gently. And just as soon as she's before Lynessa, she'll make quite a fancy flourish, leaning forward with a finger to her chin before she'll curtsy to the other lady. "I thought you would never ask, for I am The Duchess of Elstwhere." The girl clad in forester gear who looks like she hasn't had a bath in a month remarks with glee. "It is the greatest of pleasures to make your acquaintance Lyne-Bear~

Lynessa knew she was the one who extending hand, but she was surprised when Aelia really decided to grab her hand tightly in such difficult position. For a moment she was tempted to drag the archer down which would be easy if she truly did it. She refrained from doing so, though. There was no real merit from doing it, anyway. "I see...You must have bad experiences with those snowmen," she remarked jokingly.
Her eyes widened and her breath became slightly tense at the random guess Aelia made. The archer might be not serious when she spoke but Lynessa had no way to be sure about that. The change in her expression and behavior was only for a few seconds as Lynessa quickly reverted back to her poker face and successfully returned her breath to its normal rhythm. It might not enough to escape Aelia's attention, though. "Easy, easy...It's not the first time. I shouldn't lose my cool," she thought. The dragon simulated some different possibilities and the actions she would have to take. The worst case was if this girl KNEW and had waited for her in purpose. As best as she tried to keep her identity secret, some people did learn about her origin, there were stories and reasons behind it which would be a long story to tell. Anyway, the Etrurian archer might be a threat or no threat at all, which Lynessa had to make sure.
Lynessa paid a little attention to her grand introduction, although the nickname successfully annoyed her much. She suppressed her animal instinct which screamed a desire to lunge at the archer and rip her apart before the Etrurian could be a danger. Fortunately, she had learnt to control this side of her. "No duchess smell like you, seriously." After saying such spiteful remark, the dragon drew power from her dragonstone, strong enough to enhance her five senses and body but small enough to cause almost no change to her human form. She then used the empowered abilities to smell the air and listen to the wind, just to make sure she was ready an ambush. But it seemed they were alone in this road, she felt no one but them. "Lyn is enough. Don't start with that Lyne-bear, please. Now can you tell me your name and why you are here?" she asked, trying to find out more about Aelia. She kept smiling hoping that the archer wouldn't find out about her worries.

Aelia clicks her tongue and shakes her head as she puts a hand to her chest and bows ever so slightly to Lybessa. "Scarred me to today clearly." She remarks with quite a sigh, as if it were just the worst thing ever as she puts her hands on to her hips and peers closely at the other woman. Also, the archer would have been quite sad had she been pulled down from the tree, if only because she likes her head non-bruised.
She WILL catch that quick tensing, seeing as how Aelia is one of those weird people that positively absolutely insist on eye contact at all times while speaking. But, for once, it doesn't seem like the girl is going to pry on the mistakes of others and poke and prod at every little thing they seem to be hiding. If only because she doesn't want the girl with the dragon skin to start getting all up in her background! And really, Aelia wouldn't belive Lynessa was a dragon even if she poofed into one right there and ate her.
"That's what you think! I doubt you've smelled very many duchesses before." She hums with an inqusitive tone, peering even further towards Lynessa as if trying to discern that she was actually a cereal duchess sniffer. And all the while during this interrogation, the dragon woman will find it's all quite clear, nary a soul posing a threat and the only scent on the wind no more than Aelia and her peaches. "Awwww... Alright LynLyn." She whines, pouting extra hard as she crosses her arms over her chest. Hey, she might not be a threat but she's certainly a danger to Lynessa's patience. "Aelia, Aelia Columbia." She'll finally chime, puffing out her chest and blowing a stray bang from her eyes. "And I am here because I don't have much anywhere else to be! Nice weather, good fruit, bubbling brook just that a'way and fun travelers to bother! Maybe a few pretty ones too. She'll remark grandly, finishing it off with an eyebrow wiggle.

Lynessa relaxed herself, now she was sure this wasn't a ploy to capture her or anything. Things like that had happened a few times in the past which was the reason the dragon wanted to stay alarmed. She felt a little guilty for doubting and suspecting this innocent girl, though.
"LynLyn...Well, it's better than the last one..." Lynessa sighed as she gave up. Aelia might come up with worse name if the dragon woman refused this new one, so it was better to just accept it. "You are quite funny, actually, although maybe a bit annoying," she remarked jokingly. The dragon didn't say it with anger or any negative emotion, she simply spoke her honest opinion. But she then realized that her bold words might hurt the archer's feeling, quickly thinking how to apologize. "Sorry, I was just...speaking my mind. It' my bad habit, you know."
"Ah, if you don't have anything to do or anywhere to go you could come with me to my village. It's more fun to have a companion rather than going alone." As soon as she said that Lynessa was hit by a realization that if Aelia accepted her invitation then she would be unable to transform and fly to Ilia. Or maybe she should just tell her the truth? That wouldn't be so easy. The violet-haired woman decided to think about it later after she got her response, after all, Aelia had said she hated Ilia so she might refuse. She didn't have problem going with her, it just that her husband had insisted her to go home quickly and there was no way she could reach her village in less than one day without flying. "So, Aelia...I see you know archery. Are you a hunter? Or it's just a hobby of you?" she asked, hoping this question would make her forget about the invitation.

Aella came traipsing out of the woods with a smile that was growing wider with each step. Her face covered in dirt and hair in a mess made her seem like a hooligan. As she walked, she was able to smooth her hair back down though. She had just found some mushrooms to use in her next medicine endeavor. Hopefully it would be a success this time. Last time she had specifically tried this recipe, it had caused a mild case of indigestion followed by expulsion from both ends. The poor fellow she had tried it on certainly did not appreciate Aella's efforts to cure his cold.
By the time she had made herself somewhat presentable once more, she noticed two people standing in the road. Raising her hand, she almost called out to them but, noticing her hand was filthy, decided to put it back down. "Hello!" she shouted cheerily. "Where are you two headed on such a fine day as this?" Yes, it was a little weird for a cleric to be traveling alone, especially to be coming out of the woods, but she had her reasons. Thoughts of people trying to attack her really didn't cross her mind. After all, who would really want to hurt a healer? Honestly, who couldn't use a healer? Even the army of Etruria, with all its magic, never had enough healers. So Aella spent her time alone, travelling from village to village, helping anyone who would let her.
And greeting people on the road was always a great way to meet new people. And new people meant new information. And maybe, just maybe, someone would give her some new healing technique or medicine recipe. It was so exciting she almost squealed in delight. Life was so much fun outside the monastery!

Rilcha shuffled through the woods, twigs snapped off in his unruly curls and sticking out in all directions. He resembled a pincushion, the boy far too busy trying to right his horrid sense of direction than to pay much attention to his appearance. Hours earlier he had lost sight of the path after wandering off to pick some lemongrass to chew on as he traveled. The boy had found one sprig, and then another a little ways away, and then another even farther away. He had followed the lemongrass path for a few minutes until he had found that he had no idea from which way he had come.
Luckily he had set off with a full pack and snacked upon his rations as he wandered through the trees, not very worried about his state. Happily he observed the trees and trotted about, picking more lemongrass and chewing on it once he had finished his snack, enjoying the light refreshing taste that washed over his tongue.
Suddenly though, he paused, hearing soft voices a little off to his left and turning to follow them curiously. They sounded gentle, feminine, and his mother had always told him to be nice to the fairer sex, partly because they could be more frightening than any large brigand with an axe at will. He smiled gently once he had come upon them and gave a sheepish little wave. "Hullo misses...could you buy chance point me towards the road?"

So... not exactly one of my better days...
Marching in formation was dull and trite. Constantly going from left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot wasn't particularly fun, especially not with fifty pounds of equipment slung over your back, in full cloth armor. Cloth armor, what a joke. Faravinn geuinely doubted the magical properties of cloth that would somehow prevent an arrow or block a sword, and felt that the dexterity and speed of not wearing the armor was probably more beneficial. Of course the whole situation in of itself was quite damming. As a farmer boy, Faravinn had never been much of a cynic. Now, because of the completel absurdity of military command, he felt the urge to complain whenever he was greeted with a new development. As in, the time when they gave him a used spear or donned him a helment with holes and dents. It was absurd.
And now, being forced to act the part of a pack mule! This was sort of what pack mules and wagons were meant for. What the hell were they thinking by getting fresh recruits to lug weapons and food all the way to the front? Faravinn thought that he would prefer to go into combat and get killed than have to make another supply run.
Their burly lieutenant raised his first and about faced.
"Kay. We stop heuh. Ekans, Fravinn, go forage for food."
"Why? We have plenty of rations in our bags..."
"Faravinn.... you little whelp..."
"OKAY OKAY, WE'RE GOING"
Faravinn dumped his sack of swords and led the way away from the makeshift camp site and into the orchards of peaches with a shield as a dish. Plucking them off the branches, Faravinn soon got caught up in his own thoughts and strayed far from camp. Realizing that he should head back soon, he overheard some chatter. Fancying himself a bit intrepid, he gripped his worn down spear and moved towards to source of the sound to investigate. He couldnt see anybody but could hear voices through the trees.
"Who...who's there?" he stuttered. "This is a soldiee of th-th-the Etrurian.. a-army"

Aelia blink blinks several times at Lynessa before she clicks her tongue and then lets out quite a little groan. "What one calls annoying is another's boundless youthful enthusiasm!" She'll chirp sweetly, batting her eyelashes at the manakette and pursing her lips with a girlish giggle. Whether she's purposely trying to goad on the Dragon Lady or is honestly, just that genuinely bashful, is likewise wholly up in the air! "PffffFFFFftbh~" She'll sputter at Lynessa with a shake of her head, tongue lolling from her mouth as she lets out a happy giggle and reaches out to bap the Dragon on the nose with a smirk.
Despite all of Lynessa's best efforts, Aelia will LATCH on to the comment about her village, the young woman's emerald eyes going wide as she puts her hands in her lap and leans all the way forward. "I would love to Lyn the magnificently cute!" She hums sweetly, leaning back and forth a bit with her hands moving down to her hips at the question. "I'm pretty nifty at archery I'll admit, nothing spectacular but it makes a living hmm? She'll ask, quirking an eyebrow before she rolls her eyes upward. "Which is to say, hunting is my only living." She adds, creasing her brow as she pulls a hand up to rub her chin.
And then suddenly they'll be accosted by a young boy! Who will draw an inqusitive look from the short haired woman. "It's just on the other side of this tree... But uh, you know it's not very safe for young little sirs to be traveling on their own." She'll remark, closing her eyes and nodding contently to herself before she suddenly clicks her tongue at the voice approaching them announcing his presence! Eturian soldiers? Here?! IN ETURIA?! The horror! The calamity!
"No one here but us trees!"

"Alright...I guess this is it...No flying then. Sorry Roy, your wife will come home late..." she thought. Lynessa somehow felt an urge to cry when she saw more people join their conversation. And worse, Aelia agreed to go with her. She already gave up with this complicated things and decided to take her or anyone, maybe even revealing herself. "Alright, Aelia...and by the way, did you just call me cute?" she asked, sighing in defeat.
Lynessa observed a woman and two boys somehow came to join them. One of them was a cleric, the dragon noticed the healing staff in the cleric's hand. Replying to the Elimine agent first, Lynessa shifted her glance to her as she put her hand in her waist. "I am on my way to Ilia and this woman, Aelia, is probably going with me. You are lucky you pass this road when she has stopped harassing people, I am her last victim." The dragon woman smiled politely to the cleric, she had always had respect for their order. She liked and respected how they lived and worked to help people, such good deeds often went unrewarded but the priests and clerics never complained and continued their holy mission. "It's rare to see a cleric travelling alone. I heard the church usually send some escorts when you are on duty."
"And you, boy...Children shouldn't walk alone in this road. Well, I am not saying this road is dangerous but still you shouldn't." Lynessa ran her fingers through her hairs when the wind made her hairs kinda messy. She then placed a gentle hand on the boy's head and pat him gently. "You can go to Ilia or Etruria by following this road. Aelia could help you better than me, she seems familiar with this area," she said, smiling. This boy reminded her of Aran and Gavin a little.
If she was being polite and warm toward the toher two, her stare toward Faravinn was a cold one, even scary. She didn't expect to meet a soldier. When she tried to smell the wind the dragon caught scent of a group of soldiers, which startled her. "We are just simple travelers, young man. No need to be scared. I would like to know what a soldier doing here, though." This man wore the armor of soldier but his reaction was far from a refined soldier, probably a new recruit of the army.
