Aurek stared off into the cloudy sky. Deeply exhaling, Aurek relaxed as he laid by the fountain in the center of Castle Caelin. He seemed almost corpse-like as he just laid there. A bird even decided he was decided an excellent perch. Still, Aurek just stared off into space. He couldn't remember why he was there or how he got there. There was nothing and no one he wanted. And so Aurek simply stared at the sky from his back, as the fountain gently soothed his untroubled soul.
Usually some disaster would probably trip on him or somehow drag him away from his peace. Still Aurek had no desire for such trouble to find him. Licking his lips, Aurek's thoughts turned to food. Perhaps he would finally move should his hunger drive him forward. Still, there wasn't anything exceptional happening. And honestly, that suited the old soldier just fine. A sigh escaped his lips as Aurek relaxed without any more thoughts.

Aleth looked gingerly about. She had been doing her patrols since her recent recruitment as one of the guards here. It was an ideal job, but with all things considered, it was better then being jobless. They paid her well, enough that allowed her to eat and have money leftover. That wasn't the issue here. Her trouble was the old man on the fountain. Was he alive?
She gingerly approached the elderly man, thanking her helmet for concealing her visage. She hasn't quite gotten used to being a simple guard, having been trained in a far more reckless style. It was nice to have some use for her right arm again, a new prosthetic buckler added for defense. At least she looked the part with her lance and armor. The extra weight having been properly adjusted.
"Excuse me, are you alright, sir?" she asked, looking down and turning her head slightly in confusion.

Oh Caelin, you're so tiny. It was barely a town. It was like just a really big castle in the middle of nowhere that had a ton of people living in it. Though outside the town there was a couple that he stayed with for some time, Kelvin's parents. He felt awkward around them, after everything that happened with him and Kelvin and Chelsea. So he instead just sort of... avoided them. Still he was in Caelin somehow anyways, so it was probably not an ironclad strategy. He was just sort of wandering around, for little to no reason really, it also felt as if he was supposed to be doing something... important. Far away. In a cold place perhaps. Whatever.
He was decked out with weapons as he walked. A bow and quiver strapped to his back, three swords on his right hip and two on his left. He jingled more per step then the average knight. The looks he kept getting was probably that of fear, or confusion, or sizing him up to steal from later. Y'know, all that good stuff. The castletown was vibrant with life, usually, since it was so densely populated. Everyone in Caelin lived in this castle it felt like, so obviously there was a lot of people just sort of hurrying around.
It was cloudy today, with a soft sort of grey light filling the entire courtyard. There was some guy laying on his back being tired, and some woman in armor questioning him about something. It wasn't really Valcrist's business so he decided to keep out of it. Of course he was a nosy little bugger, so he stayed around so he could see what was happening.

Something was bothering Aurek. As he laid there, he couldn't help but wonder if there was something his supposed to be doing. A rumbling started in his stomach. Aurek grimaced. He was probably just hungry. Then the rumble moved right up into his mouth. A disgusting burp issued forth from Aurek's mustached lips. "Uuuuuuuuuh," he moaned. That's when he finally noticed the guard standing nearby. "What?" he asked as he rotated his head to stare at the newcomer. Licking his chapped lips slowly, he tried to ascertain this person's motives. The only thing Aurek could think of was that he was about to be kicked out of the city. Struggling to his feet, Aurek swayed erratically. "What's wrong with me?" he wondered aloud. "Am I- drunk?"
With a lurching step, he swaggered forth only to lose his balance and fall into the fountain. Water enveloped the old man, dousing him completely in a cold blanket. Shock caused him to inhale some of the water, and soon the old soldier was drowning in less than two feet of water. He had dropped both his lance and shield upon losing his balance allowing him to way both arms helplessly in the air. Yes, sir, he had certainly made an excellent impression on anyone passing by.

Through the soon to be storm clouds forming, Venessa and Sorrow were going right through the mass of clouds forming. A bolt of lightening lit up the sky, making a shadow of her and the wyvern on the ground as well as make the shadow of them in the cloud. Thunder followed right behind as she kicked the sides of sorrow making the wyvern to slowly glide down. As they broke through the now darkening canopy of clouds, she could see the Castle up ahead. "Might as well go there Sorrow and ride out the up coming storm. Hiyaah!"
Gently smacking the reigns, the Wyvern once again began to flap it's wings and then straighten them out so they could glide. With the Wyvern rider now over head everyone, Venessa would have her Wyvern land next to the fountain in which an old man was drowning in it. Sorrow bent her head into the water and began to drink the water for she was thirsty. The rider hopped off the mount and looked at the old man again. Shaking her head, she would walk over to him and pull him out of the water so that the scene would end. Hunched over, she would roll the old soldier onto his stomach so he could cough out the water.

Aleth was glad that the old man wasn't dead. She sort of assumed that considering he was alive enough to ask the question. However she didn't have time to respond to his question as he seemed to lose his balance and fall into the water. In response, she tried to save him, leaning further then she was ready. She still wasn't used to the extra weight her armor provided and she soon found herself falling face first into the water.
Once dunked in the water herself, she started to kick about in protest. The water was soaking into her clothing underneath the armor, making it even heavier then before. She panicked, flailing her arms about, before finally realizing that all she had to do was to push off a bit. She let out a gasp of air and looked to find that the old man was saved. Thanking the heavens, she finally got the sense to stand up.
"I think you're alive," she finally replied, her heart was still pounding from the fiasco. Her superiors wasn't going to like this.

Valcrist witnessed a rather startling event, or at the very least it was out of the usual with that older man stumbling around like a drunkard and collapsing into the fountain. Well now, that wasn't very good. Val emerged from his hidey hole and began to job towards the source of excitement, seeing if he could help of if the man was okay, or if only to get a better idea just what was going on. Above his head streamed a wyvern through the air, the sky whistling as it screamed by. By the time arrived the rider of it had already 'saved' the man, and the guard from before was flailing around in the fountain for... some reason. Wow this was a silly situation now wasn't it? Was Val sure this was something he wanted to get involved in? He just knew it was gonna become big and stupid somehow. Unfortunately his good sense was deafened by his incessant need to help people. Curses.
"Is everyone alright?" He slowed as he neared, looking at everyone. The guard was soaked, the older man was soaked and looked like he had almost drowned, and the wyvern rider was all 'whatever' about everything. Also why was everyone drowning in the fountain? It wasn't even a deep fountain. He wasn't sure how he could help, but he felt a certain sense of obligation he couldn't really describe.

Aurek figured he was going to die. His limbs felt heavy, unnaturally so. And then he was drawn forth from the water just as he had given up hope. Oddly enough, he only coughed up a little water. There was no flailing, no gasping, no extra movement. Instead, Aurek's eyes were unnaturally wide and his breathing heavy and mouthy. He could hear what the people were saying, but he couldn't respond properly. "Done wore. I'm fin." He meant don't worry, I'm fine. But of course, he seemed slack jawed. His knees were locked out which helped him stand for a little bit. And then his sense of balance was gone, and he was falling into the arms of his rescuer. "Aw sit."
The whole world was spinning now. Either someone was going to catch him, or Aurek was about to greet the unfriendly pavement with a rousing thump. Aurek figured one of the 18 people circling him could do it. After all, he was falling so slowly. How could they not catch him? Oh, maybe it was because he was turning into a liquid. Because there seemed to be puddle where his legs used to be. And then he knew he'd turn into a cloud and drift away. Oh yes, Aurek was on some pretty heavy drugs that were really kicking in.

Just as Valcrist asked, it turned out that 'no, no we're not alright' was the answer given judging from what the olderman was doing. That being mumbling in some weird drunken stupor or something and then just falling. After being soaked from almost drowning the fountain first, something clearly wasn't right. Valcrist has been falling down drunk before, it wasn't like this. He seemed drugged, or poisoned, or something. Still Valcrist wasn't going to just stand there and watch some guy smash his face against the ground, he was a nice guy like that.
He moved quickly like a blur, moving from his spot to catching the falling man in his arms with a slight "oomph" sound. He reacted quickly, his reflexes were always pretty good after all, and while he was certainly heavy and armor covered, Valcrist was strong enough to hold his ground. He handled steel and iron and used a maul and pounded steel into shape every day, so it wasn't too much of a hassle. "Hey man, you alright there?" Valcrist asked as he tried to help the man back onto his feet. He seemed... really out of it. Val kept an arm around the man's shoulder even after getting him to his feet, just in case he began to tip over again.
